Great hotel, great location. Lovely views of the sea especially if you get a front room. Very Quirky rooms. Only 20mins from Haysham Ferry's.

My daughter booked us for afternoon tea today Saturday 29/03/2025, we were disappointed not to have a table at window as booked, no lovely white table cloths as used to be& terrible music in place of the 20s jazz music, things are not the same at this beautiful art deco hotel, it’s ambience as gone, service very good, lovely afternoon tea, lacked heating & lady at bar reception not a good front of house person, needs someone with warmth & outgoing personality to make you feel welcome, I was told when working in shops & reception always be polite, never sit down & make the customer welcome after all they are paying your wages!! This didn’t apply today unfortunately, look to changing the situation before losing out on future custom

We stayed here for one night as a birthday treat and the room was amazing. It had loads of room. Lovely big balcony looking out to sea and a huge bed that I have to say gave me a brilliant night's sleep. Evening meal was fantastic, however in the morning breakfast was not very good. Buffet style but they kept running out of things like coffee, croissants, butter etc and when the full breakfast arrived it wasn't very good. But that didn't spoil what was an enjoyable stay in an amazing Art Deco hotel

We only ate here for an afternoon treat. I feel they should put signs up so people know that they need the table number which is on the menu holder, which take time to find. Also as a completely new walk in customer I had no idea if it was waiter/waitresses service taking orders or go up to the bar. Once sat down I saw other going upto the bar to order . Then also once I was in line another customer then got told to find out his table number. Once ordered was taken food and teas where served with friendly staff . Overall we had a very good experience looking at a great view and the food was very tasty.

First time back at The Midland Hotel for a few years. Very disappointed… not the elegance and ambiance I was used to on previous visits. No table service and ordering at the bar! It’s like a pub experience..no table cloths… cutlery in napkins and a vinegar bottle on the table… really!!! Staff are lovely, not enough of them but they did their best…but what a contrast… Not at all what they use to be… What has happened to this amazing hotel? Please decorate the outside of the building… looks grey! The rooms are still excellent though have to say.

Really loved this hotel, in the best position, overlooking the bay. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean and the bed and pillow were the comfiest I have had in a hotel. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because, some bits of the hotel were a bit tired, and the glass in the conservatory was rotten, which was a shame as sitting there with a glass of wine watching the sun going down was fantastic. The staff were really pleasant and helpful and it has its own car park which is always an advantage. Breakfast was good, as well, and set us up for the day. Dog friendly as well, the perfect place to take a dog, due to location. We can highly recommend it and am sure we will be back.

After many years of walking/driving past the Midland, today finally booked in to enjoy lunch, can honestly wasn't disappointed in any way!.. What a lovely relaxing environment, sat looking out the windows out to see, would have been more inviting in the summer months, sat behind the glass we could enjoy in warmth... Food was thoroughly enjoyable, and due to celebrations endulged 3 courses, made more enjoyable by the relaxed environment, whereby we could just sit/chat and enjoy the afternoon, ordering food/drinks on our own time!.. the only negative was the booking - several phone calls/emails never answered or replied to, eventually found the web booking service that gave an automated reply, was worried about no booking when we arrived, but no issues once we arrived, so all good, maybe they just rely on constant walk ins and not too concerned by those wishing to book in advance??... Still 5 stars from us as thoroughly enjoyable afternoon 😀

We walk past here daily and always comment how busy it always is and today we decided to try it out. It was very busy, super dog friendly. We came around 2pm for lunch, there was no table host as such and at the bar, we asked if we could have a table, the chap said "if you can find one you're welcome to have it, most are reserved". So after scanning the restaurant areas, we could only sit in the foyer, initially at the high seated area, however it soon became apparent that we would struggle with such low stools and high table level. So we moved to another table, this was also not ideal as it is near the main doors so we had a constant draft and gush of cold air when guests arrived/left. But other than leaving we had no choice. The table was full of previous guests empty plates/cups so we moved them so we could sit. (This remained on the window sill for the duration of our visit.) There was no caramel syrup for a flavoured latte. We ordered burgers, the patty was good quality meat, however it wasnt until the end we realised, both came without winter slaw and no explanation. It was good but I feel like salad and the missing winter slaw would make it worth near the £16 mark. Our plates were empty in front of us for some time, and we asked for our desserts and teas a few times. The waitress came to tell us they were waiting for the apple crumble in the oven still, it would be 3/4minutes. The apple crumble was not as expected when it did arrive shortly after, visually the crumble looked like dark granola and the apple was like something out of a jar-an apple sauce condiment. I got near to the end of my Pepsi and it appeared there was something floating in it that might have been stuck between the ice cubes. Not great. My previous experience of working in hospitality would be ensuring you had allocated staff to each area/role, e.g. table clear/reset, serving, hosting on guests. I'm not sure if it was understaffed unexpectedly or if that is their normal requirement, however it was evident that guests were tending to tables as though they were at home rather than paying for a service to eat out. It was around £60 for the two of us, I don't think it was worth that, which is disappointing as we have been looking forward to coming here. Staff were polite, but they're missing key hospitality skills- whether that's training required or lack of time due to being understaffed, I don't know. There was so many staff at the bar. If you want sea view table I would suggest reserving a table beforehand. We didn't stay in the hotel, we were passing for lunch and live locally.

Fabulous hotel xx We come here often and always do the weekend before Christmas. We stayed in the top suite with the hot tub, but unfortunately, with the winds that weekend, it was impossible to go out. Lovely spacious lounge, the biggest bath I've been in with a rain shower over it. Glass windows all around, giving you the most amazing views of morecambe bay from different angles. The bed was huge and so comfy. We had our evening meal in the restaurant, which was really good and tasty. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, they can't do enough for you. There are parts of the hotel which could do with a sick of paint here n there but this never stops us enjoying our stays. We took a slightly larger room with a view and it was well worth it. Lovely view over the bay and the room was beautiful. Whoever designed the rooms did a fantastic job. The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are well equipped with plenty of storage, tea and coffee, an iron, lovely bathroom and excellent heating. The restaurant is quite casual but the food was excellent and the staff were extremely nice and professional but friendly with it. It is a great hotel if you're staying in Morecambe. Quite close to the railway station, right on the beach, not far from the statue of Eric Morecambe, whats more to like? Well it's also dog friendly and it was a great pleasure to see all the happy dogs and their owners. The bar evem has doggy treats (for good dogs only.) Highly recommended, if I didn't have to go back home I would never leave.

I had long wanted to stay at this iconic hotel so we booked a one night stay in a room with a sea view. The room was spacious with expansive views across Morecambe Bay from the balcony. On arrival, it wasn’t obvious where to check in so we approached the bar and realised that this was reception- a strange arrangement for a hotel which purports to be 4 star. As it was my wife’s birthday we had pre booked a table for dinner. It was disappointing, to say the least, to discover that we had to order food at the bar- definitely not the level service we expected in any hotel and our starters took 45 minutes to arrive. Having said that, the staff were polite and the restaurant has amazing views. The hotel is in need of a coat of paint as it’s looking rather tired but the free car parking is a bonus. We are unlikely to visit again.

We stayed overnight (a party of 4), the building looks tired from the outside, but inside it looks very nice. A warm welcome on arrival and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening dinner was nice but I didn’t feel the portion size was worth the price charged, although the food was very tasty. Breakfast could do with fresh fruit salad as an option, but overall the breakfast was well cooked and of good quality.. Unfortunately we were also accidentally overcharged on our drinks bill, but it was sorted on departure. A slight oversight was no prices for the beers and ciders on the menu, if this could also be advertised. The rooms were very clean, quirky and very art decor which was a pleasant surprise. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

As a regular visitor to the hotel I will not be returning. It has gone completely downhill. All the little extras and touches of luxury have disappeared. It now has the same operational system as a pub with rooms to stay in. As one of a handful of Art Deco hotels this is extremely disappointing. We stayed in our usual suite, we might as well have stayed in a Travelodge and spent the remaining £500 on something else. The dining was deplorable, breakfast was chaotic. Balcony was dangerous with holes and warped boards. There was also a hair in my food. The staff did their best but their new company has, for me, brought the past reputation of The Midland into disrepute.

Can't talk about rooms or over night stay but some good reviews on here- my experience is about calling in with my wife for a drink and a sandwich and have to say in our view we got ripped off. For two sandwiches and a small beaker of chips and a pint and half of beer charged slightly above £33!! My wife had posh cheese on toast and I had ham and mustard- we got two slices of bread each mine with small beaker of chips no garnish and my wife two slices of break thinly layered with cheese some garnish and chutney and small beaker of chips each £12.50 - we thought fir this money and posh wording in an iconic hotel would be something special- but certainly wasn't- my local village pub serves up better and I won't be spending my hard cash here again - the outside of the building and bar/veranda area in need of refurbishment and the toilets in our view leave a lot to be desired especially having to go down steep steps when elderly and then ladies and gents combined - not my choosing .

I would like to have given 5 stars.but was a little annoyed on Wednesday when we walked there. the weather was lovely 90/ of people that go there are dog owners.there was a number of people when I was there with dogs.. they always have water out for the dogs.. when I asked were the water bowls were the lady serving said it's not up to them to be putting water out as they have never put water out for the dogs it's the lady who lives opposite...as they don't have bowls or containers and don't put water out thought this was a bit rude when most people buying from them and relaxing there like myself and family.i may think twice before I go or recommend it for a nice walk
