I had long wanted to stay at this iconic hotel so we booked a one night stay in a room with a sea view. The room was spacious with expansive views across Morecambe Bay from the balcony. On arrival, it wasn’t obvious where to check in so we approached the bar and realised that this was reception- a strange arrangement for a hotel which purports to be 4 star. As it was my wife’s birthday we had pre booked a table for dinner. It was disappointing, to say the least, to discover that we had to order food at the bar- definitely not the level service we expected in any hotel and our starters took 45 minutes to arrive. Having said that, the staff were polite and the restaurant has amazing views. The hotel is in need of a coat of paint as it’s looking rather tired but the free car parking is a bonus. We are unlikely to visit again.

Took my dad for afternoon tea for his birthday. We sat in the window overlooking the bay which was beautiful. The food was plentiful and tasty. The service was excellent. Plenty of parking on site and the hotel is a fantastic art deco building.

So sad to see this amazing hotel being run into the ground. The interior is grubby with peeling wallpaper and no love for what was once a wonderful place.Awful service and average pub food for a supposedly 4 star hotel, only positive is location.

We stayed overnight (a party of 4), the building looks tired from the outside, but inside it looks very nice. A warm welcome on arrival and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening dinner was nice but I didn’t feel the portion size was worth the price charged, although the food was very tasty. Breakfast could do with fresh fruit salad as an option, but overall the breakfast was well cooked and of good quality.. Unfortunately we were also accidentally overcharged on our drinks bill, but it was sorted on departure. A slight oversight was no prices for the beers and ciders on the menu, if this could also be advertised. The rooms were very clean, quirky and very art decor which was a pleasant surprise. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The service at both your bars is ridiculous bad.every visit you are either ignored or stood waiting for ages.lack of staff and training is obviously the problem.... now just so to the Station pub behind you

Last weekend I was based at The Midland Hotel as I had a stall selling my work as part of Morecambes Vintage by the Sea 🌊 Festival. Stunning location and views across to the South Lakes and such a buzzy, fabulous event!

Sadly gone downhill being bought by Inn Collection. What a shame the little touches have gone: no front desk! No more top notch restaurant dinners! Now cheap but expensive bar menu at odds with the seasons. Sad. But, still the same glorious window seats looking onto the bay & pier. Not happy with Inn Collection...all a bit drab.

We have been to this fabulous hotel to use the car park, as there has been a vintage and retro car show and festival ladies and gentlemen all walking around in vintage and retro clothes all looking dapper and beautiful. The hotel made it as the back drop was jaw dropping. 😊

Called in for a drink, decent choice but more expensive than the usual Morecambe pint but worth it for the view & surroundings. Aug 2024, Prices still above Morecambe's average but it's a unique place & views.

Afternoon tea was excellent value, quality & presentation. Friendly, polite team. Pleasant setting, and great views over the bay from our window table. Only downside was that the sun was dazzling and hot through the huge window. Would have benefitted from a blind (though that would have hidden the view). Solution might be free-standing screens?

As a regular visitor to the hotel I will not be returning. It has gone completely downhill. All the little extras and touches of luxury have disappeared. It now has the same operational system as a pub with rooms to stay in. As one of a handful of Art Deco hotels this is extremely disappointing. We stayed in our usual suite, we might as well have stayed in a Travelodge and spent the remaining £500 on something else. The dining was deplorable, breakfast was chaotic. Balcony was dangerous with holes and warped boards. There was also a hair in my food. The staff did their best but their new company has, for me, brought the past reputation of The Midland into disrepute.

Superb location, especially if you plan to do Way of the Roses on a bike. Stunning art deco masterpiece that is in need of some love and attention to bring it up to former glory. Rooms are nice but no AC and the bathroom we had was almost bigger than the room. Bit of a weird see-through door which doesn’t actually close too (see photo). Breakfast was average, and I’d be annoyed if I’d paid full price for it but the view made up for it. We went elsewhere for better fish and chips.

Myself and my best friend went to The Midland Hotel for Afternoon Tea, it was presented beautifully, delicious vegetarian sandwiches, yummy scones and an amazing selection of cakes. Excellent service and a perfect location overlooking the bay of Morecambe 🫖🍵🥪🧁👗

Cost cutting all over the place especially the restaurant. If I wanted to order at a bar, I would go to Wetherspoons. No reception desk, no staff and zero quality. Breakfast no better than a Premier Inn now. No water in the rooms and less towels. I can only think that this is part of a rescue plan to try and make a profit

Needs updating in public areas and definitely needs re painting out side, the idea of paying up to and beyond £200a night for a double room then not able to book a table for dinner strange but to find out pot luck for a table then go and order drinks and food at the bar for the hotel of that standing and cost did not seem correct, perhaps I am old fashioned and in a restaurant expect waiter service not much to ask for.

We visited today for afternoon tea and were not disappointed. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful otherwise the setting would have been perfect . I'm sure the views are splendid in fine weather. The food was delicious . The sandwiches were freshly made and tasty. The scones were very good and served with lemon curd as well as jam and cream The cake selection was excellent. If you are too full to finish your copious serving a cake box can be provided to take " leftovers " home The tea was good and another pot provided on request We had a lovely time and would recommend a visit

Great dog-friendly hotel. Staff all pleasant and very attentive. Only marked down one star on rooms due to TV being stuck on a date one month before (April) so Freeview TV programme menu not working. That said, we didn't raise the issue with the staff. I'm sure if I had it it would have been resolved. So bearing that in mind, 5 stars 🙂

Can't talk about rooms or over night stay but some good reviews on here- my experience is about calling in with my wife for a drink and a sandwich and have to say in our view we got ripped off. For two sandwiches and a small beaker of chips and a pint and half of beer charged slightly above £33!! My wife had posh cheese on toast and I had ham and mustard- we got two slices of bread each mine with small beaker of chips no garnish and my wife two slices of break thinly layered with cheese some garnish and chutney and small beaker of chips each £12.50 - we thought fir this money and posh wording in an iconic hotel would be something special- but certainly wasn't- my local village pub serves up better and I won't be spending my hard cash here again - the outside of the building and bar/veranda area in need of refurbishment and the toilets in our view leave a lot to be desired especially having to go down steep steps when elderly and then ladies and gents combined - not my choosing .
