Perfect for a quick bite as part of the overall Tong Garden experience. We loved the food and the ladies were super professional and friendly.

Did not live up to expectations. Just been with my friend. Ordered the lighter bites sticky chicken wings. We both burst out laughing when it came out as I habe never seen anything so small. Plus they weren't sticky, they just seemed like ones heated up in the microwave. The salad that came with it was nice and the skin on fries were nice. I also ordered the cheesecake of the day, expecting something lovely and homemade, but it looked like a slice from a supermarket. My friend ordered a chicken pesto ciabatta. She said it was ok butnthe bread was a bit tough. Atmosphere was nice and the staff were fine. But not impressed with the food. We have eaten at the downstairs cafe many times and enjoyed it in general but never been up to the mezzanine area. We both said we would not bother again.

Paid £13.50 for a “Posh” fish finger sandwich. I had ordered this before from Tingley garden centre so thought i knew what i was getting as it was much better from there. What I got was an overcooked fishfinger in bread and nothing on the bread (i added mayo to make it less dry). Very very poor. Somethings changed as have been a regular customer. I could have had a more enjoyable fish finger sandwich if i made it at home.

Unfortunately the food was not up to expectation. Tuna wrap soggy, brioche bun so dry it just crumbled when trying to eat and the lettuce was slimey not at all crisp, The quiche square was warm and was difficult to warm it squished together. The brownie was dry and fell apart even with the cream. We had the experience last year afternoon tea in blooms and it was fantastic even better than Bettys at Harrogate. We were really disappointed as this was our Christmas present once again from our son as we had enjoyed it so much last year. Have told him not to buy again.

We booked for 4 afternoon teas on Monday, the day after Mothers Day. Restaurant itself is nice. We waited 35 minutes to be served the afternoon tea-bearing in mind you are allocated 1hr 15 minutes to eat and vacate your table-so service was a little slow. Presentation looked good, unfortunately the selection and quality of food was very cheap and poor-one was vegetarian selection and included a chutney spread with rocket on a sandwitch and a wrap filled with hoummous and rocket-very disappointed and unimaginative. Surprised as their other cafe and restaurants located downstairs provide fantastic food and service. Staff were nice and helpful but will not return for afternoon tea-£70.00 wasted and expected much better.

Have been a loyal customer since it opened. Today was not good. It used to be soft beef slices AND a side of super soft beef shoulder with yorkshire puddings, roasties and mash. TODAY - small piece of beef which was ok in terms of tenderness. With small portion of mash and red cabbage. With minimal gravy. That's it. It was served in a smallish bowl. I feel cheated to be honest. Let's be clear taste wise it was pretty nice but NOTHING to how it used to be. Yet its the same price! 16 pounds. Missing roasties and yorkshire pudding and other veg! Honestly feel cheated. Not in a rush to come back now. And a table behind us made conversation with us after overhearing them say it was a little disappointing. They said its far off the mark from being a sunday dinner. There is an old saying..... if its not broken don't fix it! Too many restaurants do this. It needs to go back to how it used to be.

We enjoyed the soup on our first visit a couple of weeks ago but this festive menu is very limited. The turkey baguette was very dry (the turkey) and the fish goujons also very dry not worth the money. Also don’t know how you can charge £1.20 for a dash of hazel nut syrup to be added to a latte that’s ridiculous

Disappointed. The Christmas Menu lunchtime. Limited choice. Fish goujons very dry. The previous menu was fine why tinker with it or do both menus. Staff very good and friendly. Atmosphere good. What was going to be a good lunch spoilt by lack of choice. Hence the 3 stars.

Younger staff don't acknowledge you. They need to be trained. Tables are often booked especially at lunchtime so you have to wait to be seated. Good selection of sweet items and beverages. Had the coffee and a mini cake which was lovely and just enough. Older staff were pleasant. Menu looked good. Would go again.

£17.50 for a very mediocre plate of vegetarian food. The sliced bread was hard bordering on curly and one of the sandwiches was two pieces of beetroot in a small bap. ! The desserts were delicious but they definitely need to up their game on the savoury selection

Excellent place for afternoon tea. Service is impeccable, really enjoyed a birthday treat out with family. The food was delicious. The fish finger and the duck spring rolls was a delightful addition to the “norm” afternoon tea. From the lady calling me in the morning to clarify some of the things I had put in the notes regarding preferences, to them getting 2 workmen to rescue a balloon that had escaped its string. Perfect bite size sweet treats too. A nice size scone with the usual cream and jam. Really attentive with bringing more tea or water. Well done the team in the mezzanine. We all had a lovely afternoon. Thank you.

Food is bang on, an the staff to be fair are too however it shouldn't take that long to get a cup of tea. The beverage section is very slow.

We visited the Mezzanine for the first occasion on a Sunday. However, we have been to the Tong Garden Centre itself a number of times. So from our experience the staff were relatively friendly and helpful. The area was family friendly, quite spacious and the food was well presented. The dishes within the pictures was the Smoked Haddock and Beef from the Special Menu, which was of a reasonable standard. Therefore, bear in mind this is not a mainstream restaurant in a city centre I would recommend assuming you approach this with realistic expectations.

Sunday roast average. No horseradish sauce to go with the beef. Cauliflower cheese in a wartery flavourless sauce. Expensive for what you get.

When we have visited here, there is always a queue of a people at the till, staff walk past, don't acknowledge you making you feel awkward. People get told to come back later as the restaurant is full, even though there are lots of tables empty especially the right hand side, which is always closed as its just been cleaned? We know this as we have been sat at the table while they turn people away and the empty tables stay empty? Staff genuinely can't be bothered and seem lazy. We have often wondered why the right hand side is always closed for cleaning and why there is need to turn customers away. When we first visited here the food was very nice the menu has since changed from our first few visits last year and not for the better.

A nice restaurant with lovely service from very welcoming and helpful staff. The food is a bit overpriced for what you get as it was £9 for a sandwich with salad. I'd recommend booking as we were asked immediately if we had booked when we arrived at the restaurant, even though it looked fairly quiet at the time

Ordered pizzas from mobeens and the base of the pizza is uncooked, made the bad decision of still trusting our local takeaway and still ate the pizzas, currently throwing up... On a positive they put a lot of toppings on

Not only the food was terrible but I am weirded out. I ordered for home delivery and then I get a message from the delivery driver which was totally weird and unprofessional considering I am under age.

Ordered a takeaway for Mother’s Day, it was literally restaurant quality food in my own home! The vegan options are amazing and every meal with spot on! You pay restaurant prices but when the foods that good it’s absolutely worth it! We had a slight mix up with one order but they were really polite and rectified it straight away. We will definitely be back both in the restaurant and for takeaways on special occasions.
