I am furious because of the locks in the bathroom. I went to the bathroom and needed to use the toilet so I locked the door obviously. When I was about to leave I was locked in there for a solid 20 minutes. Food was great though and amazing service will go again if they fix the locks

Booked into the Meatery for Mother’s day for a nice treat. However upon entry we were immediately told they were very understaffed as 1 person had phoned in sick (although they needed an extra 3 staff minimum). We understaffed these things happen so of course no worries here. It took about 20 minutes for our drink order to arrive then after 40 minutes of sitting with no order taken we were finally able to flag someone down. After sitting for 40 minutes we finally realised we had not been given all the menu’s and there was infact a Mother’s day roast menu which we much preferred. Finally we got our order took and I understand they were understaffed so at this point we were very hungry. This followed by the waiter swearing with the table next to us very loudly (saying ‘f**king so understaffed) while we had kids at our table and, as we were sat near the bar, we were subject to loud banging from mojito’s being made which was causing my autistic cousin to get very uneasy. The food arrived and it was lovely, absolutely no complaints i give all my compliments to the chef. However we were wanting a desert and after asking the waiter and the owner several times for the menu we were just forgotten about. After sitting for 2 hours with only one round of drinks and a meal, we decided we may aswell get the bill. We asked 3 times for the bill from the owner (who did not look pleased at all with his busy restaurant) and we did not recieve it, not even an apology from the owner after this experience! We then decided to just go up to the bar to pay as if we were in Nando’s. I completely understand they were understaffed however we had booked a month in advance and I know many others in the restaurant booked in advance as well so the owner knew this would be a busy night. The price of the food & drink is not cheap but I don’t mind paying more if I don’t feel like I would’ve had a better experience going to Nando’s or even a Wetherspoons. I really felt for the wait staff as the owner was not doing well to help them with customers complaining or even offering apologies. Might be back when it is quieter but definitely won’t be rushing back soon as there is plenty of nicer restaurants near.

Been a few times with family and friends. Recommend the mixed grill and fish and chips. The Bacon burger is the best burger, it has layers of delicious flavours.

American chef here. This pizza is the most authentic *american* pizza I've found in the Glasgow area (bar Thundercat, who are specifically Chicago style, and this closer to new york). The sauce is excellent. I did find the crust a little floppy, but it was a 9 inch pizza, and thats a common issue with 9 inchers. ;) The star was the fennel sausage. That's a very distinct flavor profile, and they've nailed in here. The pepperoni was also quite good, and sourced well. I'll be back. A lot. Pizza makes me happy.
