Love this place, great food. The 2 meals and a bottle of wine for £55 on Monday-Wednesday is a nice deal and the atmosphere inside is super cozy

A mixed bag …. It was a little chilly inside ( freezing outside ) Long long wait … for starters and even longer for mains ! But the service was good and apologetic and attentive! Starters flat bread with beetroot hummus was really nice - warm bread and tasty ! The seabass tasted a little bit weird. But the chorizo and Spinach was delicious . The burger was ok …but not great. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious !

I had remembered coming here maybe 5 years ago and having an incredible roast. Sadly not now. I don’t think any of the meats roasts we had on a table of 5 had been seasoned. The roast potatoes were not roasted - obviously pre prepared and sat left to be reheated. No stuffkng, gravy almost ditch water Bisto. Red cabbage not braised properly- It should be unctuous - cooked with red onion and apple. Not just chucked into a vat with vegetables stock. On the service side we waited over an hour for this food. Staff seldom to be seen. Seemed harassed and stressed. We spent £200 and very very much regret it.

The service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was warm and cozy as always. My husband was happy with his Scotch-flat iron steak but I ordered the king prawn and monkfish Malabar curry, which wasn’t very tasty and was a very skimpy portion for £20.50. The sticky toffee pudding can be hit or miss - sometimes it is moist and delicious but was dry and slightly burnt last night.

A friendly, local venue with an excellent ambiance for a meet-up.

Owner was unsmiling and sullen. He said he was the only one on duty for bar and restaurant. It was my birthday and if I’d said I don’t think he’d have cared. I’d put it in when I booked.

great service, house wine and hospitality, my son loves this place but Christmas dinner: bland souffle, dry venison, dry veg, lovely moist Xmas Pud but a miserable scrape of brandy Sauce, very expensive, for the money they could do a little better with the food

Food was way over priced for what we got, ate at Spaniards Inn the night before - food was much better and half the cost. When we arrived the restaurant was very cold, had to ask to turn on the heat for my parents

Had a really enjoyable Sunday roast today and the staff were great. We were a table of four but Unfortunately we were sat next to a table of 20 so we couldn’t hear each other speak. That’s not the fault of the restaurant but maybe they need to think about that when seating people. Overall a good experience though

I always love getting my Sunday roast fix at The Maynard - best roast porchetta in town. Also the beetroot hummous and flatbread starter is perfection on a plate! The team are always very welcoming, the service is super efficient and I love their vibe.

It was lunchtime and not good weather so very quiet but we didn't mind. We sat outside undercover and listened to the rain pattering on the canopy. There seemed to be only two staff but service was attentive and the food was delicious.

Useful for my group to meet in the delightful garden with the useful alternative of airconditioned interior when it got too hot. Well supported by pleasanrt staff.

The Sunday menu was perfect. Traditional Sunday roasts with the option of a few alternative choices.

I wanted to give feedback on your staff last night. They were brilliant. We sat near the food counter for the football last night and they were efficient, unphased and attentive. Even when a table nearby seemed to have many complaints. So well done them. I think stick to a few dishes when the euros or large numbers are in. I’d like to see a few more vegetarian and vegan options. Good job!

We really enjoyed our evening watching the game & the staff were extremely nice & helpfull. We re order the same table, as some of my ladies friends are mature and wanted to enjoy the game. The table was excellent position for us & we are returning to watch the Final game. Thank you to Everyone

Sunday lunch was excellent - veggie wellington pastry not the flakiest, but was delicious, and trimmings were imaginative - kale and red cabbage, alongside perfect roast potatoes. Cauliflower cheese generously portioned and highly cheesed. Took a week till i felt like i needed to eat anything again... Service v friendly and efficient.

I praise the staff for understanding our group meeting's requirements and being helpful and pleasant.

Always enjoy a roast at the Maynard but this Sunday we booked for Father’s Day: Afrer waiting over 45 mins for our starter we were informed it would be a further 20 minutes wait. Really not cool so we left and had a delicious Italian over the road instead. It’s not like they didn’t know they were fully booked and would be busy. Really need to sort out the staffing situation to avoid those kind of waiting times.

I stopped here for a beer after a long walk on a sunny day and it was a real treat as i stayed for a burger which was delicious. They have a beautiful big garden out the back which I almost missed. nice place.

Great terrace but veggie roast was a bit disappointing. Served rather cold and potatoes very hard and dry. Felt like they were ready for several hours. The heavy could do with some spices.

Good roasts on a Sunday alongside their other mains. Nice outdoor space to the rear, and very nice service.

I am vegan and found the Sunday option very unpalatable, the gravy had a strange tart taste whilst the Wellington tasted sweet. Others on the table were not blown away by the food. Our server was really nice, we made the mistake of asking a different server if she could take our money for the bill and she snapped at us saying she was doing something else (lovely lady with glasses).

What a cracking Sunday lunch with my family and my puppy. The food was delicious and Meet our server was charming and efficient. We were seated in the covered garden space and had a lovely leisurely Sunday lunch. We didn’t feel rushed and the tables were nicely spaced. I am definitely coming back again.

Without doubt the best Sunday Roast I have eaten in London in a long time. The starters and mains were huge. The table in the garden was covered and kept the sun off our back. My puppy was sitting happily under the table. We had roast porchetta, chicken and beef. My son had Mac and cheese. Everything tasted good. I will be back again soon and may need to skip starter so I can try out the dessert. Overall a wonderful place for adults, children and four legged friends.

We've just returned from the Maynard Arms. Our first time there, although we are fairly local. The food was good, as pub food goes. But, more importantly, we were very well looked after by our server MEET. We would like to express our thanks for the exception services. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and professionalism made our evening memorable. He truly embodied the spirit of excellent service.

I would highly recommend this place, I visited this place for the second time now in a week in Crouch End, earlier I visited it for Sunday Roast. What bought me here was the best fantastic food and great service back on sunday, which I got yesterday as well from our server Meet. He’s really a very friendly person, he really gave us a very great service both the days.

This place has good snack options alongside pints. The service was quick, and made friends with the staff there. Lovely people. Shoutout to Meet, keep up the good work.

We had Easter lunch at the Maynard and as always the roast dinner is impeccable - service from Manon was outstanding and she made us all feel very welcome. A neighbourhood treasure in Crouch End!

Helpful , effective staff in a relaxing, pleasant venue.

Firstly, the service was slow, i felt sorry for the staff as either they had some people call in sick or were over booked, but also there were new members who were overwelmed. we got the wrong starter and didn’t receive one of the drinks ordered, and pointed it out, still not to get that drink The food was OK, not much beef with the roast and a lot of fat, cold yorkshire puddings and somehow burnt and undercooked potatoes. Either there is some cost saving going on here or bad preparation. Great Pub, but will not be coming back to eat here again as a local

First impressions count. Despite booking a table, we had to join a long queue to be seated. There were simply too many bookings taken for an average sized pub restaurant. Although the staff were pleasant, there weren’t enough of them which meant service was very slow. The roast we ate was nice but the wait wasn’t worth it. We won’t be rushing back.

Had been for a long walk over Hampstead Heath and was getting hangry by the time we walked into a very busy and buzzing Maynard this evening and wasn't expecting much as the staff were run off their feet but was very pleasantly surprised when Ben and Maggie the lovely staff members of the Maynard stepped right in .. found us a booth table against all odds and continued to be courteous and efficient throughout our time there..thanks for looking after us guys..much appreciated Ps food was great too

This was such a lovely pub to stop at for an impromptu lunch. Spacious decor, light atmosphere and our fish n chips was delicious. We followed it up with a selection of mocktails which was a perfect way to finish our meal. And big thanks to Shanks, who served us. It was a pleasure to have such wonderful service and he made the whole afternoon so enjoyable too.

The Maynard does my favourite roast in Crouch End. Their staff are also very helpful and friendly. However, the last time I visited, the whole place smelt horrible - like toilets/drains. Let's hope this is a temporary problem!

Sunday lunch was fantastic. The crackling on the roast pork was really crunchy and the porchetta was lovely and tender. The host managed to accomodate us on a larger table which was a nice touch. great service.

Good food and service every time I come here, very big and spacious pub with a really homely feel to it. We sat in a cosy booth in the restaurant, well presented space, bright and warm.

This is the 3rd visit to The Maynard which I have previously given 5 stars each time. However, yesterday’s visit was just a little underwhelming as far as the food went. My chicken roast was generous and the veg delicious but the chicken itself and gravy were very under seasoned which spoilt my overall enjoyment. My friend ordered the beef and said the same. The meat was also quite tough and chewy so once again, this spoilt her overall enjoyment. That said, on a positive note, the service was excellent and our bottle of Pinot Noir, reasonably priced and delicious which made up for the slightly disappointing food. We will check out the regular menu next time we visit. Which we definitely will.

Always a nice time and good food, the specials for valentines were really good, especially the tiger prawns, and the raspberry tiramisu!

Have come here for lunch a few times now and cant stay away! I've had the steak sandwich and the cheese toasty both are very tasty. good service too.

Really good burgers and fish and chips! also had a couple of plates of some prawns with a vietnames sauce and cucumber which was absolutely delicious

Great pub, been here regularly on various occasions, and food is very tasty. Today I was left somewhat stunned when ordering a cocktail: bartender finished pouring it, quickly licked his fingers, and then took a straw and stuck it in my drink. Everything was perfect except the finger-licking part. He could have licked them afterwards, but doing what he did defies common sense. Unlike Vermeer, this bartender with a pearl earring did not garner my admiration.

The food (roast dinner) came out before we got out drinks. The portion was good but it felt like it had just been heated up briefly before being served.

A very relaxed family environment with tactful service and high quality food. The Sunday Lunch was a good portion though some big eaters might want sides. The dessert, though overly generous with large chunks of honeycomb was a lovely end. A good selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic mixers too.

Great food and great service. The table next to us was a little loud but it was fine especially with 50% off.

Food disappointing. Too much undercooked batter on fish. Venison overcooked inedible. As the Maynard is one of my locals I will return. Maybe not for the food though. It seems to have dropped in standards.

My son's meals was very good and mine was good but my wife felt the options for veges was limited.

The Maynard is a very reliable pub for a Sunday roast. The pork belly is especially good. Their cheeseburger is also delicious. Very small complaint: cauliflower cheese is way too runny and cauli undercooked. Sort that out and it'd be 10/10. Nice staff and pleasant atmosphere. Nice pub garden for when the weather is warmer, too.

We were hungry and ordered the rump steak and the burger and boy did it hit the spot. Both meals were plentiful in size and packed with flavour. The steak was tender and soft to chew while the burger was probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant for a long time (the way it was built and the ingredients that were added) so credit to the kitchen staff for this.

The waiters were fantastic but I’m sorry to say that food was shocking I had been there few times and always good but last night was a terrible let down
