Last Sunday, after completing a 10K walk while fasting, I was eagerly anticipating a hearty Sunday dinner at Mayflower Pub. However, my excitement turned to disappointment when I ordered the lamb roast. Despite devouring the veggies and Yorkshire pudding, the meat arrived undercooked and laden with fat, which I couldn’t consume due to dietary restrictions. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, their response was incredibly rude. They accused me of finishing my meal without offering an apology. To add insult to injury, the manager sent three staff members to demand payment without acknowledging or apologizing for the unsatisfactory meal. I’ve never encountered such disrespectful behavior at a pub before. This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had.

An exceptional, atypical and timeless place, rare to see! From the location to the atmosphere, including the service and the setting in this old pub, everything was perfect! The lighting is by candlelight, offering a romantic ambiance on the banks of the Thames. The culinary specialties offered allow you to discover British gastronomy. The staff is smiling, helpful and attentive. A real favorite ! Thank you to the entire team for this wonderful experience 🫶 All sails to The Mayflower ! ⚓️

This is a great pub. It looks and feels exactly what you would expect an English pub to look like if you were an American tourist, except there don’t seem to be many tourists (due to it being in Rotherhithe!) I’ve been once on Sunday and once on a weekday. The Roast beef on the Sunday lunch menu was tender and the gravy was rich and flavourful. I also thoroughly recommend the whitebait for a starter. The regular menu is also fantastic, especially the pork belly, mussels, and fish and chips. There’s nothing on it that I wouldn’t love to try! The service is attentive and the locals are friendly. I didn’t see the top floor where you can book tables as I was a walk in, but the terrace hanging over the Thames was an experience. Just remember to bring warm layers in the Winter!

This is the best pub in London! I ate at the restaurant with my family on Tuesday and we had such a lovely time. We ordered a range of things from the menu and everything was excellent. If you go, I recommend trying out the specials, but everything is of a very high standard so you can't go wrong. The staff were all wonderful, and Lucy took great care of us throughout the evening! I really recommend coming here if you have a group to impress, but the Mayflower can also be a great date spot too (:

A south of the river pub very close to an overground rail station. It's very quaint and seemingly authentic and makes much of it's claim to be where the America bound pilgrims set off from. Leaving aside it's history this is a very pleasant riverside place with friendly staff, reasonably good food and excellent beer. It has world class views along the Thames. Although the the beer and food is good and honest and it presents as a pub, the Mayflower is essentially a small restaurant where you have to book a table in advance. Pub culture comes second. Just showing up for a beer and expecting somewhere to sit isn't an option, unless you are happy to drink outside. It's a small place that is very popular with prople who primarily come here to eat.

Treat yourself to a slice of London history and step into this fascinating pub. I used to visit regularly in the 1980's when I lived in the vicinity and was delighted to be welcomed back by the fantastic Giovanni, who attended efficiently to my every need. I sat next to a real open fire on a wet, miserable London day. We are so lucky to be able to enjoy such unique venues in London and this is certainly one. You would be forgiven for exiting Rotherhithe Station and wanting to turn back round. There area is overbuilt and claustrophobic but persevere, walk a few hundred yards and you will find the Mayflower tucked between London's longest street and the Thames path. I could sit for hours enjoying the idiosyncratic decor and imagining what it must have been like frequenting this venue in its heyday. So why not place it on your itinerary and support this exceptional venue.

Visited here on a Monday night for their pub quiz. The pub sits at the end of a cobbled street, ambiently lit by street lighting and such a welcoming vibe. When you get inside, it's incredibly cosy, a great winter pub with an outdoor area out the back for those hotter days. I did not eat here myself but the food looked excellent and we immediately regretted having been to Bone Daddies just beforehand. The staff are fantastic - every single one of them (especially the girls in the restaurant upstairs) were warm, friendly and attentive. The place itself is a feast for the eyes. So cosy and steeped in history it’s like popping in for a drink in an antique shop! The food is incredible and good value for the quality you’re getting. The usual pub classics are on the menu and they’re good, but hats off to the kitchen - they manage to absolutely to nail a variety of international dishes like the kofta, curry, teriyaki salmon etc. A nicely varied menu executed with skill and finesse. Thank you for a thoroughly memorable afternoon
