Fantastic Experience! As locals, we’ve been to The Mayflower before, but this time, we brought my in-laws, who were visiting, for dinner, and it was a wonderful experience. My mother-in-law is celiac, and she was delighted to find plenty of tasty gluten-free options. All of our food was delicious! On top of that, our waitress, Lucy, was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and professional. The service was perfect, the food was excellent, and, of course, there is one of the best views in London here. Highly recommended!

Buzzy, authentic pub on the water. Lovely outside on a sunny day, cosy inside on a winter’s day. Lovely ale, more than solid pub food.

Loved finding the Mayflower Pub! As a traveling celiac, food is always the hardest part. While my partner can eat anything, I’m incredibly limited. Was delighted to find gluten free options on the menu, including the traditional fish & chips! They have a separate dedicated fryer for a reduced chance of contamination and the service is both friendly and knowledgeable.

Very unusual place, English pub atmosphere and candlelight dinner (upstairs, it's very nice) we are immersed in the Mayflower era. Small downside, it was a little expensive in the end for a dish, wine and dessert

Love this pub, really cosy and the people who work there are great. The only thing I'd change is to have more ashtrays on the decking - people smoke and just drop their ciggies which then go into the Thames, then inevitably the sea. Save the fishies!! 🐟

We stopped here during the week for lunch in February. It has charm, great food, and a wonderful server who has the perfect kind of attitude. I would definitely recommend this pub and would return if I visit London again. I had the calamari (4 out of 5), the soup of the day was Lentil soup (4 out of 5), and my husband loved the bangers and mash (5 out of 5). The beer was cold, the wine was tasty, and the sun was shining. (10 out of 5) 😁 There is a porch out back that overlooks the Thames and has seating outside; I bet it’s great on a beautiful day.

This was our second visit to the pub, and we we enjoyed it as much as our first. Charming interior, good beer selection, friendly staff and lovely home-cooked pub food. Worth noting that if you don't want to drink your beer from a jug, you need to ask for a straight glass. Also, if you want to avoid the 12.5% service charge, best to order at the bar in the pub area. There seems to be an annoying trend in pubs where they offer to take your order from the table and bring drinks your drinks over, and then add service charge.

Bottom line: definitely go to this place for an authentic British pub experience. Reservations a couple days ahead of time are a good idea. There is very limited walk-in seating and it is very cramped. It is a couple short blocks from the Rotherhithe overground station. We were lucky to get a small table as a walk-in. We started with drinks - a Guinness for me and a Mayflower Scurvy Ale for my companion. The Guinness is well known, and the ale was just what you want from a local ale. For dinner I had the traditional steak pie and she had a seared tuna. Both were exceptional. For dessert we split the house specially of a Sticky Toffee Pudding which is sweet enough to trigger a room full of diabetic comas, but very delicious! The total bill including drinks and dessert was £66, and for the food, service and atmosphere I consider that a bargain. Will definitely go back!

We went here for Christmas Day and it was not a great experience and would not recommend to anyone booking Christmas dinner. We had to wait over 1 hour 20 minutes after our starter for our main to come and then when the dinner came out it was stone cold. They said they would re-cook it but it still came out cold the second time and the potatoes were barely edible. None of us finished our Christmas dinner and had half eaten plates sent back. Overall we were in the restaurant for over 3 hours for a 3 course meal and there did not seem to be enough workers for the amount of people eating. I do not feel the food was worth the £90 charge and overall the experience ruined our Christmas day and would not recommend anyone booking this.

We went to the Mayflower for our Christmas dinner and left very disappointed with the experience. The starter was nice, I went for the venison and was pleased with the dish. The presentation was also very good. However, some of our party ordered the celeriac soup which was far too peppery and not enjoyable. After the starter is where it went down hill… We was then waiting an hour and 10 minute wait for the main. When the main eventually arrived the turkey was cold and the selection of vegetables was underwhelming. We complained to the waitress and she kindly took the meals back to the kitchen and bought back new meals 10 minutes later. The food arrived again and the turkey was still cold. We were fed up and hungry at this point so we didn’t complain again in fear of having another wait again for the food to return. Everybody around the table also had a different amount of vegetables in their meal… one of our party didn’t have Brussels sprouts or carrots. The pudding was alright. But by the time it was received the pub was closing. The total time we were in pub was 3 hours for a 3 course meal. The meal definitely was not worth 90 per person. We ordered a bottle of wine which was given on the house. But this was not a saving grace when it came to the experience.

Really bad Christmas Day experience. DO NOT come for Christmas…. I brought my family to the pub for Christmas dinner this year as the last couple of times we have had a good experience for dinner and my mum loves coming when she comes to London. We came for Christmas dinner and the soup was really pour with so much pepper and very little bread and we chose to accept this and move onto the main. We then were made to wait for over an 80 minutes for our main course in which we had to ask for it twice. When it came it was stone cold and even on complaining when they brought the second round it was appalling. I recieved my dish with only broccoli as my veg. No carrots, parsnips or Brussels sprouts. We finished with half our plates remaining. The cost versus quality of the food was very poor. There service taking us 3hours to eat 3 courses. Would avoid this place for Christmas Day! Not worth what they thought was £90 per head! Awful!

So I went with my friend to the mayflower pub while staying in London for a few days. the pub interior is just so awesome with a beautiful seamanship atmosphere. but the best part are the ppl working (very hard) there. they were so genuinely kind. the craziest part was: they forgot to bring us our second round of drinks. when we asked for the drinks this one lady said she will take care of it. she send up a guy to us that said that they are very sorry for our wait and that the drinks are on the house. I didn‘t know which beer I should take so although they were very busy he directly offered to bring a selection to taste and I can decide. so he came again with tasters and took the time to explain all about the beers. in the end he brought like the biggest beer size they have. buuut, the crazy thing: in the end both rounds (!!!) of drinks were (for this very little inconvenience) on the house and not just the second one!! I ve never experienced something like that… I m from Switzerland where we have quite high standards. but usually when there is an inconvenience u get a coffee on the house (when u are very lucky). this pub is a gem cause of the amazing atmosphere right at the waterfront with seamanship charm but especially cause the very kind ppl working there (that are as they say treated well at their workingplace). and u feel that because u feel their passion from the first second they greet you. thank you very very much for being so welcoming hosts and compliment to the owner/s, u are doing everything right and deserve that the pub is running busy on a regular wednesday! ❤️

Beautiful pub in a lovely location - it's just a shame that their Sunday roast was limp and disappointing. I love a Sunday roast - I've had good, bad and mediocre. This one was mediocre. Soft "roast" potatoes, soft and spongy "crackling", stone cold Yorkshire pud. It's not too difficult to get it right, maybe they are so busy they just don't care? Who knows? I certainly won't be going back.

This is a great pub. It looks and feels exactly what you would expect an English pub to look like if you were an American tourist, except there don’t seem to be many tourists (due to it being in Rotherhithe!) I’ve been many times on both weekdays and weekends. The Roast beef and roast lamb on the Sunday lunch menu are perfectly tender and the gravy is rich and flavourful. I also thoroughly recommend the whitebait for a starter. The regular menu is also fantastic, especially the pork belly, mussels, and fish and chips. There’s nothing on it that I wouldn’t love to try! The service is attentive and the locals are friendly. You can book tables on the top floor or sit in a booth/table on the bottom floor as a walk in, but the terrace hanging over the Thames was an experience. Just remember to bring warm layers in the Winter!

The place itself is okay, with decent clientele and enough seating. Staff come across as rude, however, and do not seem like they care at all. Also, the manager might want to think about having a word with the bouncer on the door. I watched him provoke 3 completely unnecessary arguments with tables surrounding us. When we asked what happened, none of them knew why he (the bouncer) had confronted them. For reference, this took place on the 3rd of Jan 2025.
