Local pub , very busy, tables needed cleaning

Good experience well worth the money, had a mixed grill and was cooked lovely.

Got banned from their quiz for "cheating", what actually happened is some bitter old hag was jealous because we won most times. They came out with a load of bull about proof but couldn't provide any, it's not a coincidence the hag was sitting on the same table as a member of staff the previous week. When asked for evidence we were then told it's upsetting other customers because of how much we win. They put on a quiz but get upset if one of thier family doesn't win. Horrible staff and the owner is spineless thier decision apparently but didn't have the decency the to us themselves or provide anything to back thier claim.

There was a bit of a wait but we were told about this before ordering, this was expected on mother's day. Food was lovely and there was plenty to choose from on the menu. The staff were attentive and cheerful. I've only been here for drinks before and that was years ago, I'll be returning soon!

I have eaten here many times and the food has been really good, unfortunately today it has fallen way below that standard. 3 dinners, Philly steak was very chewy, the accompaniment on top of the steak was awful and had no taste. The spinach and pumpkin veggie burger was the worst vegetarian burger we had ever tasted. It had no flavour whatsoever and just tasted awful. However the saving grace was the Pork tomahawk that was absolutely delicious. The steak needs to be better quality, and the vegetarian burger needs to be thrown in the bin, and the recipe needs to be replaced (vegetarian food does not have to be bland) . Many thanks.

Have recently started going back to this pub, I find the drinks a little bit pricey. Anyway having had quite a few bad experiences with their foodin the past, I decided to give them another try, my first meal was fish and chips, the fish was more like the size of a baby shark(big portion), my second meal was the gammon, egg and chips, lovely. I like my steak blue and it's never been cooked to my liking, but based on the last two meals I decided give it a go.OMG I could see instantly when my steak arrived it was cooked just as I like it it was, blue absolutely gorgeous I had to let Paul the manager know that my steak was on the same level as some of the top restaurants, if this the forward for them I would throughly reccomend you give them a go, well done guys 😀😀😀👍👍👍 went there today, what felt like a life time waiting to be served at the bar, people came to the bar after me and got served before me, the bar staff reckoned the didn't see me am I black or what !! and it was freezing inside not very happy too say the least shocking way to treat customers disgusting!!!

Food was lovely and the service was timely given how busy they were. We were lucky to walk in and be seated x

About an hour wait! Drink & service good. Uncooked chips, mushrooms blurgh, chicken dry and rubbery. Burger rubbery and pink in the middle. Cremated sausages! Not worth the £62 for 5 meals! Better food served at WS!!!

Food as always lovely. Only blip was they got my order slightly wrong but that was put right very quickly 3 🌟 for service as the female member of staff who served us the food and then had to help alter it was so miserable in her manner. No smile, no pleasantries, very stand offish. Thank you to the on duty manager for listening yo our communication and promises to have a word We won't let this put us off visiting again

Attended on a Saturday afternoon with a friend for a catchup, very busy in there food is reasonably priced and tasty, service was quick even though it was busy, good pub all round

Everything was o.k. but my meal was a bit cold. Could have been warmer

Went out for a family meal table of 6 all 2mixed grills was awful chicken so hard you couldn’t cut it 4 meals was cold when served to us over a 50 min wait on dinner and they didn’t tel us how long we would be waiting. Very disappointed as we come here monthly as a treat.

App and website weren't allowing the order at table function, so I ordered at the bar. Bar staff were very helpful and friendly, definitely received service with a smile. The food took longer to be served than I'd have expected (it wasn't very busy), but when it did arrive it was hot and looked great. Not the biggest or best mixed grill I've had (if you've got a big appetite order some extras), but I think it was decent value, and I wasn't hungry leaving. Better than the last time we dined here... good value, friendly service, chilled atmosphere 👍

Very busy but still a quick service. Two mains for £12 and bit add an extra fish for I think was £3 crazy but absolutely delicious

To start, I placed my order with James at the bar, he was extremely polite and helpful, there was a wait for food as expected and informed upon ordering, it was busy there , it was worth the wait

Nice place good parking .needed to get more staff when we went a group of 20 or so came in .only 1 on bar .but they all got served eventually. Would go again.

Staff were outstanding ,, sam served us and was polite funny great service from her ,, and we were told there was abit of a wait on food which was absolutely fine as we had been informed before ordering and not after which was great,, Sharon served us our food and her service again was top notch,, attentive and nothing we asked was too much ,, and the food itself was just fabulous everything was cooked to perfection especially the chicken burgers and chicken fries ,, we've had these before and they've come out abit hard or burnt but today they were perfect especially the prawns :) i believe it was beth that came out and she was just brilliant 5 star ,, really happy with our time here and will be making it a weekly visit now !! Great place and great team !!

We had breakfast on the 9th of December it's really 👌 nice and 🔥 hot the. woman at the bar was pam really helpful she was friendly and nice she had a good smile 😃 😊 we will be back again 🙏👍😁😁😁😁

Don’t bother, staff are rude because you actually send your food back and ask them for food you actually ordered, then get called flower and ask why you got attitude when you haven’t, asked for medium cooked steak got a brick, asked for salad looked like a child made it, why bother asking what you want and how it’s cooked if they ain’t even going to do it, my daughter food came out freezing cold, man with long beard showing off giving me grief infront of the pub.

Went with a couple mates to get some drinks. 2 staff members, Jacob and Sam were great. Had great jokes and made me feel welcomed. Would recommend.

We were regulars for a meal here at least once sometimes twice a week. Although the last three meals we have had here have been very poor.

Excellent food as always, lovely bar staff too. Always a pleasant experience.

I found this pub/restaurant after a day out in Swansea for me and my daughter, the interior is a traditional pub feel good seating and eating areas staff were polite and the food was good for its price

I visit here alot and I enjoy the atmosphere and food and staff are always welcoming and happy. Bands on the weekends are great Service is good Seating is well spaced.

Noisy kids, but children will be children, it,s the parents who need telling off.

Great service, very friendly, and lovely food & drink. The building could do with a spruce up, and I'm sure it's part of the maintenance plan. It would be superb with some minor repairs or an overall spruce up.

Everything about here was piss poor, chips were cold, onion rings were like rubber, 8oz steak was more like 8oz of gristle and fat really disappointing, reading other comments on here doesn't look like they have done much to improve, iv give one star as I couldn't post my review otherwise it would be zero stars

Although they have an online booking system, it isn't a booking system and goes through as a request. I waited 4 hours and received no response so called to be advised they couldn't accept the booking. This was after initially trying to book for a lunchtime meal but no times were available. Surely if there wasn't a table at 5pm then that time shouldn't have been available for selection either? Absolutely a pointless system and a pure waste of my time.

18 of us for a birthday, one and half hour wait for a meal ,wasn't served together, 5 of us waited 2 hours and then the food was served cold will not be returning

Absolutely loves my visits at the Marquis arms. Friendly staff, cosey, nice atmosphere and food is lush and affordable, plenty variety of foods and drinks and always got to finish off with a dessert :)

Food and service was great. Unfortunately this could not be said about the decor and furnishings. Shabby ,dated and dirty. Some chairs were falling apart.

I met up with a group of friends, a catch up! The food was very good, served by a very polite young man. But the highlight of our visit were the two young ladies at the bar. They told me their names are Izzy and Megan. Nothing was too much trouble, and their friendliness and efficiency proved a positive experience! Well done!!!

If I could give it a zero I would because the disgusting comment I over heard from a male and female start about another member of staff was awful . “He can’t work here if he don’t understand English” to think that’s even in 2024 and with everything going on in the world staff would still make comments like this . It ruined our drinks and totally put us off this place will not be returning

The place was very busy when we arrived, we were served at the bar in minutes. The gentleman who served us was very polite and friendly, and he even helped us to a table that was suitable for us, as the table we had booked wasnt suitable. We were very grateful for this, and it showed a personal touch to an amazing service. The food was delicious and served hot. The steak and ribs were my favourite. Thank you Marquis, we will be returning.

We've been visiting the Marquis Arms for quite a few years now and we've never had a bad meal. The food and service is always spot on. Today we had the Mixed Grill, the Tandoori Chicken Skewers and the Veggie Sausages and Mash with Gravy and Peas. Obviously Veggie Sausages are not for most people but they do Pork Sausages instead. We didn't have to wait long for our food which was an added bonus. The Marquis has a great selection of beer and cider on draught which was appreciated. I'd definitely recommend the Marquis for quality food that is reasonably priced.

Always great service lovely staff , I enjoy all the meals and love they're company.

My Favourite eat out place especially with the wife Kelly . The large mixed grill is a must or the 8oz Sirloin topped with garlic prawns, and if your a sucker for for a twist to chips then the dirty fries will hit the spot

It's not very often me and my husband get a day off together but we decided to pop here for food The decoration and layout of this venue is stunning, the food and drinks were amazing,l and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Class food the wings are amazing and possible the best FOH I’ve ever seen Megan was fantastic taking my order and serving drinks with a smile and willing to talk absolutely fantastic

Waited well over the half hour stated, then had to ask for our food, when we did receive it the steak was overcooked and the gammon was uneatable. Very disappointed as we've gone here for years.

Been about 5 times for food this year, always been lovely, staff been great, drinks been really good too, yesterday was hopefully a one off as the food was awful. I had the chicken burger which was ok, the fries were cold and like soft cardboard, and I include the whole table (3 others), wife had chicken new Yorker, which again was cold apart from the actual sauce itself, friend had chicken skewers as she really enjoyed them last time, had to leave the majority of them this time. As I said, hopefully just a one off

Our steak was Cooked to perfection. The young lady who served us was wonderful. She went the extra mile this evening - Thursday 23rd May. Please could the GM give compliments for the service received! One hundred percent. Compared to other Sizzling establishments, this is the flag ship for Swansea!
