A party of 3 adults popped in for roast dinners. The place was light and airy, with views of the garden centres plants. We visited due to recommendations. My expectation grew as I read the mission station on the wall, stating fresh locally provided ingredients was their ethos. However, the tasteless veg appeared to be cooked from frozen and the beef was some form of processed meat. Contrary to their mission statement. The service was memorable to say the least. The highlight was when one member of waiting staff creeped up to the table and barked out ‘do you want anything else.’ Not would you like to view our dessert menu, or like another drink, perhaps! Then with an angry looking face, she cleared the table. Conclusion. A restaurant it’s not; a cafe most probably. Expensive not, but when compared to locally situated pubs etc, it was poorer quality of Faye at a higher price.

Very disappointing. Went here as it was convenient to our trip & apparently rave reviews on food. Called by for a hot lunch but should have had a sarnie. One of our meals was th special Meat Lasagne but they failed to put th meat in - for £14.95 we had a bowl of cheese & some Lasagne sheets... our drinks never showed. They said it was because they were busy but it really wasnt, just incredibly disorganised. We wont eat here again

Had a few meals in the garden centre, although very tasty compared to other local restaurants it can be expensive. Lovely tasting roast dinner but expensive at nearly £14 for one course when compared to other restaurants charging £18 for 3 course and although delicious on both occasions not very hot. Love the cream teas and staff are very friendly, I would recommend this place to eat as long as you are prepared for the prices. However, a friend didn't want a main course just a starter and dessert, so order the soup which was £5.99 but because it came out as her main, she was charged £9 and I have to agree that was extortionate for a bowl of soup so beware.

We were four for lunch and we all enjoyed our food. The service was efficient and friendly. Two of us had three courses and two had a starter and dessert. The dinners were generous and had a good selection of vegetables. The fruit crumbles and pies were as good as they ever were. I was concerned when I read the most recent reviews but I needn't have been. I don't mind paying £1 extra for a meal when I think about what these hard working people have been through during Covid.

Called for lunch today and was hoping to get a prawn salad I was disappointed to find it was no longer on the menu. The menu was extremely limited (see pic) and ridiculously expensive with all mains being £11.99. Hubby’s fish and chips was appalling value with a very small piece of cod. (A third of the size you’d get in a fish & chip shop for half the price). My chicken dinner was ok but I much prefer the veg that used to be on offer. (Swede, cabbage & peas etc) Today I had tenderstem broccoli, asparagus (really with a cooked dinner ??? ) Chardonnay carrots (so had to remove tops) potatoes with their skin on (not for a dinner) stuffing and gravy. It will be a long time before we return.

Haven't visited for many years and surprised at the great improvement. Staff very friendly and attentive and service first class however for a modest garden centre the prices are eye watering. A basic Americans coffee £2.90 and two very small slices of toasted tealoaf £2.35. Similar purchases at specialist coffee houses much cheaper. It's very sad that a garden centre can charge 5* prices as we intended making some expensive garden furniture purchases, but won't now call again.

The portions for the price were huge. It was hot and obviously home made. The service was fantastic. We were so well looked after by the three ladies in the restaurant. They went out of their way to get paper for little one to colour. They chatted with her and made us feel so welcome. They made our day special and im very grateful. After visiting the garden centre previously we thought it would be a lovely place to stop for some lunch. My sister had ordered the roast lunch that they serve with turkey as her choice of meat. The vegetables that accompanied the dinner were reheated in the microwave and were therefore dry, while the turkey came with a large side of string. During our lunch not one member of staff had asked us how our meals were which made complaining about the food we received difficult. When it then came to paying for the meals we were made to wait by the tills for a long while as members off staff stood behind us talking rather than paying attention to any customers. When a member of staff finally arrived to serve us and the poor quality of the meal was brought to the member of staff’s attention we were told that we should have made the complaint earlier as money could then have been deducted from the bill, though there was no offer of money being given back after the complaint was made during payments. I would not recommend dining in the restaurant and I certainly will not be returning anytime soon.

Called in for lunch today as we were shopping in the garden centre so it was convenient . Looking at the menu I was shocked at how pricey it was , being a cafe in the garden centre I was expecting more affordable prices . I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered chips and a hot chocolate . I thought 3.25 was reasonable for a nice plate of chips , that changed when they came to the table ! I am not joking when I say it was barely a handful of chips . The hot chocolate was 3 pound for just a small latte glass and it was ice cold I felt like I was drinking a milkshake . I don’t often leave a cafe or restaurant feeling cheated out of my money but I did today! The quality and portion of the food is not worth the price . I was so glad I wasn’t hungry enough to order one of the bigger meals because based on the other tables being served around me , the portions on their meals were shocking for the 11 pound and over price tag on each dish .

Having eaten at the restaurant several times before my wife and I decided to go and visit the Garden Centre and stop for lunch - what a mistake. Besides waiting 40 minutes for the food, what was eventually presented would defy the trade descriptions act. I was 'sold' on the home made steak and onion pie what I was served was an 'eye full' of minced meat and onion pie something that I could have bought in Greggs but it would have been substantially larger and less salty. My wife had the fish which in reality would be a child's portion for the price. Sorry this is and was totally unacceptable and I've gone home for a sandwich! We won't be back there any time soon.

We arrived as a family of three with our one year old son. When we arrived we were told to take a seat and the lady would come and serve us shortly. Considering the garden room is very popular with elderly people this is no way catered for people less mobile or people with pushchairs at all. We asked for a high chair and the lady got one from outside the room. It was dirty so we had to clean it before using it. Not hygienic at all :(. Once sat after around 15 minutes the lady took our order. Not very friendly at all. At this point we started feeding our son his lunch. He ate it all which took around 30 minutes. Our drinks hadn’t arrived which was extremely disappointing. We only ordered a filter coffee and a soft drink. It got to the point where our son became quite unsettled so we went over to ask where our food was as we were hoping to all eat together. The lady checked with the chef whom advised it was being done. Still waiting our drinks eventually came after 45 minutes of waiting and then 5 minutes later our food came. We both ordered the vegetable lasagne and chips. Nearly £11 for a thin layer of lasagne and a few chips on the side? To say we were very disappointed is an understatement indeed. The lasagne mainly consisted of cheese! We didn’t say anything at that point. We just quickly ate as our boy was becoming bored at this point. We finished our food and went to pay. At this point I felt it was only correct to state how dissatisfied we were with the food. The ladies reply was ‘Ill forward you’re comments to the chef’. That was it. No offer of any apology or anything or a possibility of a discount. I was in a rush at this point so didn’t question anything. On waiting for me my partner was by the door with our son. The blonde lady practically threw out the high chair still covered in all of our sons food. No effort to wipe it down at all. I was extremely shocked. We will not be returning considering it’s a place where I’ve practically been brought up and a lot of my family come here. They really need to work on their standards of service/ waiting times and quality of food for the price we pay.

We had Jacket Potato’s and prawns, a choice of mayo or Marie Rose sauce, only negative we weren’t asked if we wanted butter or not, it was served without. The food was delicious. The light lunches are reasonably priced, the main dishes are a little pricey, it’s a cafe in a garden centre not a posh restaurant. Cafe itself was lovely and clean as was the garden centre shop just don’t expect the same standard from the toilets, they have not been updated.

Having visited the restaurant with a group of friends today, I ordered the Roast Dinner meal with fresh cooked vegetable and homemade gravy. There was a choice of either chicken or beef. I opted for the chicken dinner which arrived with four small pieces of roast chicken, one tiny roast potato and packet stuffing. The vegetables were served in a separate small dish consisting of very small amounts of mashed potato, swede, carrots, peas and one piece of broccoli. Gravy was served in a stainless steel gravy boat. Considering lunch is £10.99 (starters & desserts were an additional £4.75 or so) it soon adds up. If they are going to be charging top prices, the quality of the food needs to match and this didn't live up to my expectations. If I return, I will certainly not be ordering the roast dinner meal.

I decided to use the toilet before having lunch and as I was about to enter them, a corduroy clad man with a walkie talkie appeared. "Gents are outside around the back" So off I trotted, outside around the back and found said toilet. There wasn't a disabled one, which is what I really wanted but it ok I thought, I'll manage. I was a bit irritated because there wasn't a hook on the door for my jacket (I was also irritated by Mr Corduroy) then I realised that the door was swollen and wouldn't close properly. Off I trotted, again, back inside to the disabled toilet I was originally going to use. On entering I again noticed no hook on the door but also the toilet seat was soaking; could have been water, could have been pee, either way I wasn't using it. My wife also said the ladies toilet was grubby. Off I trotted again, out and I won't be back.

Dropped in here as we recently moved to the area and were checking out garden centres. Decided to check out the cafe as we always like to make our trips to garden centres a bit more than just shopping for plants. We took our seats and were not really sure if it was counter service or table waited, we were not directed or acknowledged on entering so were unsure. The people on the table opposite assured us that the tables were waited. so we waited..... and waited.... no sign of a waiter/ess. Things came out for others so we waited... some other people came in... they were served... we waited. Maybe we should have been a bit more assertive but we decided that the moment had gone and left, still the staff did not notice us, not even a goodbye or thanks!! So I can't vouch for the food or drinks but the people around seemed happy. I'm sure this is not an every day occurrence, but I think this was a very poor level of service considering the place was not busy.

I never as a rule order chicken because it is usually tasteless without a sauce. Today (12th March) was a revelation. We both had chicken and it actually tasted as I remember chicken used to taste. The restaurant sources all of its food locally (or from their own farm) and it really makes a difference. The staff were very busy but, at the same time, were very friendly, courteous and accommodating. The meal was delicious. My wife had gammon and parsley sauce; I had pork. If you're going to be charging top prices, the quality of the food needs to match and this didn't live up to expectations. Certainly won't be returning.

We arrived when It opened at 9 and was told grills not on be 20 minutes before they could start cooking, we were wanting a breakfast so did wait and order our tea, breakfast came about 9.40 and was bacon, sausage, beans egg toast. Was average and a lot of beans went to pay and was flabbergasted it came to £19.96 for 2 pots of tea and two breakfasts. Very sorry but won't be back

My daughter and I stopped here for a sandwich on a whim last week and I was very surprised at the cost of our lunch. We ordered two tuna sandwiches with a shared bowl of chips and a couple of drinks each. I really didn't pay much attention to the menu prices and had my tenner ready when I went to pay the bill. I nearly fell over when I was presented with a bill for 21GBP. The sandwiches were just average and the chips were nothing special.

This restaurant has to be booked in advance on Sundays as its Sunday lunches are legendary. The standard is excellent and I only deducted a star because, by the time they got to us, the roast lamb had finished, which I was looking forward to. Treat yourself, book a table, but be prepared to be crammed in as every bit of space is taken up by much needed tables.

Lovely service, great tea with plenty of milk and a jug of water to ' top up ' love the toasted tea-bread, they put lashings of butter on. The best is a lovely atmosphere created no doubt by the great place and staff. Recommended.

Visited today with my wife and 10 month old. The staff were very welcoming and polite and quick to ask us for our drinks and food choices, as well as provide us with a high chair and extra cushion for the chair for our son who was very happy about this! :) We arrived at 12:30 and by 12:40 had our drinks and starters already served. The starters were a little on the small side for the cost but were very tasty, we had garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail (there was also home made soup on offer which smelt very nice). The mains were a range of Sunday lunches (beef, lamb, chicken all locally sourced) as well as gammon, fish and veggie options. We went for the chicken and beef, and very kindly brought my wife a Yorkshire pudding for her chicken dinner at no extra cost. All the veg was very tasty and was ample amount for a single serving, all the food was very tasty and felt home made and fresh. We didnt think we would have desert but the range was amazing, pies, puds, creams and more. We decided to have the cheesecake and the victoria sponge, both were served with fresh fruit and cream/ice cream and rounded off a lovely meal.Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely homemade style sunday dinner, but just beware that it is a little on the costly side but well worth it for the mains and deserts.

My husband, his auntie and I went to the restaurant yesterday after buying some plants in the garden centre. The restaurant wasn't that busy. Our order was taken quite quickly. We then waited for about 10 minutes when my husband's crumble arrived. We then had to wait a further 20-30 minutes for the other food we had ordered (scone and bara brith) to arrive and everyone's drinks. By that time my husband had already finished his crumble, which he enjoyed. I had a scone with cream and jam. The scone was nice enough by the cream was tasteless. Apparently, the bara brith was nice. It was quite expensive (£15 for 2 coffees and hot chocolate, a crumble with ice cream, a scone and a piece of bara brith). For the wait and the expensive I would not go back again.

Very disappointed with coffee, it was in a very small cup and was clearly not filter coffee but weak instant coffee. Cake was expensive and had no flavour. Wouldn't rush to go back I'm afraid.

Have been to this restaurant many times in the past and we pre booked for Sunday lunch at 2.00pm. At 2.45pm we were advised the roast beef lunches we had ordered were finished and we would need to make different choices, we chose salmon and welsh black beef pie and were assured this would be served immediately, at 3.15 pm the meal finally arrived at our table the salmon was good but the welsh black beef pie was small with little meat under the pie crust, of our two roast potatoes, one could better be described as burnt and our accompanying vegetables were limited, no peas or carrots just mashed potatoes a tiny amount of cabbage with cauliflower and broccoli. Our dessert's were good and served promptly. We trust this was an 'off day' the staff were polite and friendly as usual but clearly rushed off their feet, perhaps a case of too many bookings.

Refurbishment has made the restaurant bigger and brighter. We went for lunch on Sunday. 3 of us had Roast Welsh Black Beef, a generous portion of meat which was melt-in-the-mouth and very tasty. One tiny little shriveled roast potato was disappointing though. Rest of the vegetable selection was good. One of our party had a Broccoli and cream cheese bake which was rather bland and served with cold chips. Also the Prawn Cocktail starter was very poor, frozen prawns which had defrosted into the dressing making that watery and tasteless. Service was good and friendly. This is a very popular venue for Sunday Lunchtimes so advisable to book. Overall valu for money is good and the quality of their meat is excellent.

Good as the Garden Centre is, the answer has to be the Restaurant, A "destination" in its own right. In my case certainly it's very much"off you go cariad and buy your plants whilst I wait for you in the restaurant with a nice drink."This restaurant is simply great. Recently re-furbished, the food is second to none. Premium quality with a lot of home-made dishes, allied with lovely staff who are always pleased to see you. Roast Dinners are always popular--all the trimmings and, a nice touch this, extra gravy in a gravy bowl, just in case. Want more? Just ask, no charge and certainly not your "packet" gravy. Home-made warm Corned-Beef pie with chips etc is my current favourite in these winter months but in the warmer days I go for the Prawn Salad. There is one problem however and that is we simply cannot do 3 courses justice so tend to either go with a 1st course starter such as Crispy Mushrooms with garlic something or Soup or ( my wife's favourite ) Prawn Cocktail, followed by a Dessert of -wait for it, wait for it---Knickerbocker Glory( but disguised in the menu as something else which name I can't remember now--just ask!) and then any one of several freshly made Fruit Pies or if you're really lucky, proper, really proper, Rice Pudding. Alternatively we'll opt for a Main Course and then I gorge myself on the Knickerbocker whilst my wife waits patiently with a coffee. Go there once and you'll go again, and again and again. Full meals, snacks, just a coffee, anything goes.

Decided to grab a bite to eat while in the market . My wife had corned beef pie chips n peas . The pie had very little corned beef in it .the peas where overcooked and discoloured.Myself had ham egg n chips .The ham was from a packet .very thin what I would call plastic ham .. egg was great nice n runny .the chips left a lot to be desired for ,not that special ...should have really sent the food back .... but will say that the food on the counter looked really nice. Will we eat in that particular car again .Nope not again ..very disappointing

Very nice, rustic pub, choose tables on the 1st floor, then you sit with a direct view of the sea. Nice staff, very hard working and friendly. Food delicious.
