Car crash from the moment we stepped through the door ! so many things went wrong to put on here :(

Very nice, rustic pub, choose tables on the 1st floor, then you sit with a direct view of the sea. Nice staff, very hard working and friendly. Food delicious.

Have not done a rating on food as we didn't get round to doing it but we had 5 * treatment from the wonderful staff Evie and Dom. You deserve medals from Ga. Thank you so much for making everything perfect. Perfect hosts xx

The restaurant is really nicely laid out, open and airy. My friends and I opted for the lunch menu, and all of our meals were delicious. Risotto, Mackrell pate, sword fish....and the cheesecake was perfect to finish off the meal!! The service was excellent too. I'll definitely be going back and would recommend it.

Absolutely the best place in Mumbles to eat. The food is exceptional and we had a fabulous lunch for 4 of us. It’s always busy there, which tells its own story, but the food never falls below top notch.

Some of the best food we have ever eaten, and wonderful, friendly service. Francine was wonderful, and the mussels were spectacular!

Had mushroom topped with leek and welsh rarebit to start. Absolutely stunning and nice and hot. For main had hake with asparagus, king prawn and cheese sauce which was delicious and cooked to perfection. All the side vegetables were beautiful too. Cannot fault any of it. Nicest meal I've had out in years!! Highly recommended and definitely go again 👍

My neighbours, family and I have visited here often and are really saddened at the idea it will change ownership . We have always enjoyed perfect food and service here. The only place I look forward to eating out because the food is proper food cooked properly also. Please stay.

there's this pop-up restaurant that operates in MK at The George, which does Lebanese food. brilliant staff and delicious cheap food.

I’ve eaten at MK the George several times, the service and food is always outstanding. I’ve come over to leave a comment today after seeing on Walesonline the local authority had unfairly rated it a one star. I’m pretty sure half the celebrities in Mumbles wouldn’t go there if this rating was warranted 👍

Even though there were a chef short due to unforseen circumstances, the service and food were top class with no additional waiting or drop in standard.

Excellent food, really good selection of vegan tapas options, although lacked a proper dessert option. Service was great and a lovely view out to sea.

A boy called Jacob served us. I could not have asked for any better service. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning soon. They also do half price drinks for happy hour on Fridays (5.30pm-6.30pm).

Food was delicious and fresh. A little bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

High end food. Seems more expensive in the evening but is always packed. Book first.

I booked a table of 9 in October to ensure we had a table for our annual Christmas meal. I was told on the phone that we could choose from the Christmas menu or the tapas on the night. The guy on the phone confirmed that no deposit or pre-order was necessary. I was phoned the day before our meal to confirm that the numbers hadn't changed, and again, I checked that we didn't need to pre-order and was told no, you can decide on the night. On arrival, we were told that we could only order from the tapas menu. We wanted the Christmas set menu. I explained to the waitress what I was told, and she proceeded to get her mobile phone out and read to me what it said on the website about letting them know what menu we wanted. I explained to the waitress that I couldn't book on the website as it states for over 8 people you need to call to book. I also explained to her that I was told twice that we didn't need to pre-order and that at no time was I told that we needed to let them know what menu we wanted. She spoke to the chef who said that we could have the Christmas menu. The atmosphere was awful. No Christmas decorations, no background music. When asked about the decorations, we were told by the waitress that it wasn't Christmas yet! I feel that if a restaurant is serving a Christmas menu in December, the venue should have at least a bit of tinsel up! Our drinks order took 20 minutes to arrive despite the restaurant being quiet. The food was nice, but we will not be returning. Maybe some staff training would benefit so that everyone knows your conditions when booking a table and also on how to speak to customers.

Lovely venue with really friendly helpful staff & very nice food & wine - we visited on a Sunday so have not had anything off the main menu but lots of friends give very good reviews. We loved Knights restaurant & very pleased to see them back.

Lovely food, helpful friendly staff

This was our last night in Mumbles and we wanted something a little different but still with a lovely setting as it was an anniversary. It's a pub restaurant but I think with more of a restaurant feel than pub feel.The two menus are the fresh seafood daily chalkboard menu and a tapas menu. We ordered one potato tapas; all the tapas we saw coming out looked to be some of the largest tapas portions we'd seen anywhere before. Plus, we went for three seafood dishes: mussels, calamaris, and scallops. All good although the scallops were our fave as so big and tender. Olive rustic bread served with mussels made a nice change too. All the seafood was from the daily specials menu which, although were listed as starters were all generously portioned. We ate the lot and left pleasantly full. Our table allowed us to overlook the seafront and watch the sun set, and at 8pm, they dimmed the lights a little and put on easy listening, smooth jazz music which absolutely made the setting even more relaxing and comfortable. So much so, we wanted to savour the nice buzz of the restaurant and atmosphere that we had to order some more wine so we could linger!At times, it seemed the staff were rushed but having said that, they were pleasant and efficient and doing their best. All in all, a fantastic evening there.

MK at the George, popped in for lunch, shared squid to start perfection. Wife had a generous Lamb Shank Shepherds Pie and I had Pork loin in peppercorn and mushroom sauce plus fresh veg . What can I say excellent. See you soon, Heineken was superb as well.

i the George Hotel has changed alot now and not for the best they have these high tables which being disabled wasnt very comfortable why change things when it was a pleasure to go there before wont be back

Went to this place yesterday, staff were very friendly and the it was spotless. We were informed at the bar that they had run out of the sunday lunch at 3pm but we didn't mind as they had a great selection of other meals. We chose the mixed grill which was fabulous, the plate was massive and unfortunately I didn't have room for a dessert, but maybe next time. The prices are very reasonable and we sat at a table looking at the sea view. Wonderful experience and we will be returning, thankyou so much.

We met up with friends,and on their recommendation decided to have lunch in The George.We were lucky to park outside,which was good because it was pouring with rain.The George is wonderfully situated overlooking the beach.Staff very friendly good to see dogs are very welcome,with doggy snacks available for them.Menu very reasonably priced, two courses for less than £9.00.Food was served piping hot,I must have made the wrong choice,sausages and onions with chips and gravy.The gravy was so thin......awful.I left three quarters of it.Will choose a different option if we revisit.

We've been to the George quite often in the past but I'm put off going there again after this visit as I feel the quality of the food has gone seriously downhill. My bacon cheeseburger and chips was a tragedy- the bun had been left under the heat lamp for too long so it was stale, the burger itself was thin and burnt round the edges, the cheese and BBQ sauce (when I found it) was a spot melded to the top of the bun and the oven chips were anemic. I left most of it on my plate.

Disappointing meal. Slow service. Wrong meals brought out and then had to wait until everyone else almost finished to get the right one. Only good thing was the view.

Excellent Sunday lunch except runner beans under cooked as crunchy and competitive prices though waiting over 45 minutes without being told there was a long waiting time made me only put 4 stars. Also hubs had burger and chips which arrived cold, he was soo hungry just wanted to eat and go so didn’t complain. He says he’ll never go there again however I would so mixed review. If was clearly evident they were under staffed as young girl rushing around doing everything. Lovely modern and clean and would recommend Sunday lunch.

The fish and chips was really disappointing. The fish potion was small but heavily battered to bulk it up. The small amount of chips were not hot enough.We will not be going back.

We went there today as a group of 15 people - 9 had fish and chips - it was terrible, there was more fish in two fish fingers, it was all batter. We have lunch (or brunch) normally twice a week, this was without any doubt the worst meals we've had in at least 3 years - please do not waste your money.

We ate here during a recent trip to The Mumbles. The food is OK, usual standard for this type of pub with a reasonable selection. The location is on the sea front and the decor inside is tidy and pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful and have a good selection of drinks.

We visit quite often in fact whenever we come to the mumbles it's got to be the George the welcome we get is always friendly we even came here for our wedding meal food is really great today we dropped by for a quick bite rainy afternoon we both had sausages and mash lovely setting by the window well done guys we will be back

My parents took me, my sister and two of my children for lunch on Friday 27th. My son booked his 'festive menu' in advance as requested. Starter was Ok. Main meal had lots of small bits of turkey, under cooked carrots and green beans with roast potatoes. There were no pigs in blankets, stuffing balls or Yorkshire puddings which were supposed to be included.My daughter and I ordered the sirloin steak which was not cooked correctly and really tough!! I've never had such poor sirloin in a restaurant before.My sisters vegetarian curry and parents cod and chips were Ok, although my mother was convinced that the fish wasn't cod.Service was terrible. Most food was cold. I don't really know why my parents took us there given the fact that they didn't have a good experience with their Christmas Day meal. See below:Parents and sister went here on Christmas Day. My mother was Ok as she had standard turkey but my father had the beef and my sister a vegetarian meal. From what they said it was pretty terrible. Beef was dried out and the vegetarian menu was pretty much inedible.None of us will be going there again and my parents live locally.

Came with some friends this evening. From the time we walked in the service was excellent. Nothing was to much trouble for Gareth the manager and his staff. The meal was excellent and beer superb. Will be returning very soon. Highly recommend.

Price is expected for the location but the quality of food simply is worth the price you pay. Nicely decorated pub and staff are friendly but won’t be rushing back

Had the misfortune to visit The George on 30th October for an evening meal. The staff were clearly disenchanted about something and this was reflected in the service. One was barely able to engage with us and the other did a lot of crashing around, including banging things down on the table!

Called in a few times and Haven’t got a bad word to say about the George!! Amazing atmosphere! Food is amazing and definitely worth a try!! Friendly staff.. The New Managers Luke And Tony are amazing.. also smiling, always willing to chat, keep up the amazing work guys!!

What a great find - the staff were very accommodating the menu was good the food was great and the service was very prompt. We went there as it was dog friendly and all the staff were very tolerant of our demanding pooch!

I've had Sunday lunch at The George twice now. Between my mum, my friend and me we've tried all the options of Sunday roast dinner. Those being, Beef, Turkey, Lamb and Pork. We all loved it. The veg is fresh and nicely cooked and the Yorkshire's are yum scrum, (and I know my Yorkshire's!!) On each occasion we also had the cauliflower cheese as a side. One portion was fine between 2 or 3. That was lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

This is by far the best pub in the Mumbles! The food is outstanding and the friendly staff make this establishment a joy to be in. Such a great atmosphere and will be going back there regular in future.

Quite in the pub at 12pm. Service was good and the food was cheap and tasty. We recently went to Prezzo and our meal at the George was a fraction of the price, more generous and better Quality. We will be back again.

Visited The George whilst having a day out in The Mumbles, with our grandchildren. Staff friendly and helpful. We had the two courses for £8.99 and chose the fish and chips and Various desserts and all food was well presented and tasted delicious. If ever in the area again would definitely eat here again.

Lovely views, very friendly and helpful staff, and great drinks and very reasonably priced food! We visited 3 times on our mini break and it was lovely every time!

Our family group of 9 had excellent service here lunchtime today. Waitress immediately helpful when we wanted to put 2 tables together. Friendly and efficient at bar and delivering our meals. Staff checked a few times that food was to our liking and if we needed condiments etc. Food all excellent ranging from fish to gammon to vegetarian and happy to swap fries for salad etc, nothing too much trouble. Also great sea views and decor modern and clean. Had avoided the George for some years but Brains have done a great job modernising and have trained their staff well. We will be back.

Great food and drinks upstairs on the balcony. Good selection of ales and wine. Huge variety of food on the tasty menu.

We visited here a little while ago. It was empty when we entered except for a table next to us. There were two couples on the table.

Went along in the middle of our day out walking along mumbles seafront up towards the pier. Stopped at The George because it was dog friendly. Met with a lovely welcome and sat down stairs. The place was light and roomy. Ordered the meal deal of two courses for £8.99 for myself and my son and daughter. My daughter and I had fish and chips and double chocolate cake for dessert. My son had chicken and chips with the same dessert. My partner had buttermilk chicken burger. The dog had water for drinking and the staff were great. Very helpful and food was very good. Would definately recommend as the food was good and the atmosphere was brilliant. Music wasn't too loud that you had to shout. It was a comfortable place to sit for a while with great views outside. Could have sit upstairs but opted to stay downstairs. A nice family restaurant.

The most miserable, morose, unfriendly staff I have ever encountered.

I booked a table for a group of 15 of us mostly children as a treat whilst on our Guide camp day out. The Manager was very accommodating with all our requests and our waiting staff were brilliant too. There was plenty of options on the menu for our vegetarian and gluten free members, all in all a great experience, we will be back. Thank You all

Visited The George last week for a impromptu lunch with the family, food arrived in good time although quite busy and understaffed.

We went to this pub to have a family meal and were kept waiting for over 2 hours. The staff were very polite and apologetic for the poor service we had received. Unfortunately this was little recompense, and it ruined what until that point been a fantastic day.

Had to try the fish and chips and was not disappointed - very good! They also have a nice selection on their bar and drink menu. Visited twice during our southwest Wales trip!

Was told about this place if I ever visited the Mumbles. Being in the trade I thought The head waiter/ manager Nicco was very professional and most entertaining.. as I couldnt decide what to have Nicco recommended the steak. It was cooked to perfection..and then Nicco persuaded me to have dessert. I was stuffed..Definitely will comeback again when I'm next in the area. He definately is an asset to the George.

Went with family to eat and catch up. Nuccio was our waiter and was very entertaining and helpful especially choosing what to eat..GOOD CHOICE

Had such good food and a good time on Sunday and had Belly Pork, came back on bank holiday Monday and had Steak done to a turn. On both occasions Nuccio was the host. Excellent customer service, funny, attentive and cared.. Thank you.

Called in with friends on a return visit for a quiet drink after a stroll along the coastal path. The staff welcome was again warm and friendly, the ambience delightful and the coastal view added that special touch to drinks and an enjoyable Sunday afternoon in the George with friends. Recommended.

Following our disasterous visit a month ago and having faith in the George

My wife and I came to this in the face of it nice pub recently for an evening meal.

We had the most enjoyable dinner here. Views of the sea, steak cooked medium rare perfectly, the warm bread and homemade soup was excellent. The warm berry tart with ice cream was a nice end to the meal. The staff and service were A+

Came here for a meal with friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Friendly staff who could not do more and a lovely meal from a good range of options, all freshly cooked. Lovely puddings as well!

This pub/restaurant seems nice enough, but I felt let down by the food. My steak was very tough, covered in a greasy oil and badly burned on the grill. Very inedible. Other meals looked far more appealing, so I obviously made the wrong choice. Not sure if I would risk it again, but then I do not intend to return.

Just off the main promenade this is a nice place with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Can take a while to be served but mostly worth it. Fun place to celebrate a birthday or celebration with a small group.!

Had a beautiful table with a view over Mumbles bay. The Sunday roast dinner was delicious, Yorkshire’s, roasties, vegetables and main meat choice. Our server Nuccio was very friendly and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommended for any day of the week especially with the view and some really reasonable and delicious food.

Visited yesterday with my grandchildren.poor service waited 40 min for food to arrive when it come the childrens fish meal was overcooked veg were hard.ordered chicken burger when come waitress ordered wrong burger ordered spicey burger .could do not eat.offered something else or dessert . Wont be returning

Very good service and the meal was lovely at a reasonable price. Mums main meal was free. Photo by Nuccio was very professional making sure we were in the best position and light. I had a meal there previously and had no hesitation in asking my daughter to book this special occasion. My husband, daughter and her husband were also happy with the experience.

Called into this establishment today with a work colleague after completing a job in the area. I can honestly say I have never witnessed such bare faced snobbery from management, bar staff and locals alike.

My family went for lunch to the George last week and we felt that the lunch and kids menu offers were great value due the quality of the food served and the choice of two or three courses. The George’s location looking over Swansea Bay is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. Service was swift and good. We will return when visiting Wales again.

From the moment we walked through the doors we felt at home, beautiful surroundings, spotlessly clean, great menu and reasonable prices. Phill served us and was polite and just a great person. Great meal, certainly no small portions and there's no negatives. Will definitely be back. Well done.
