Really fancied a chippy dinner. The atmosphere was fabulous, staff were extremely friendly, portions very generous and prices were very reasonable. Had the Giro it was amazing and the fish was perfect. My number 1 chippy from now on.

The fellas in there are so sound, great service and even better food large chicken kebab with chip's sweet chilli and garlic mayo unreal👍🏻

Absolutely brilliant, I have tried other chippys and they are overpriced compared to this one. I absolutely loved the food and the options given. Plus, the actual food is delicious. This is the first time I've raved about a chippy being so good. I will definitely be calling here again!

Honestly the best chippy my family and myself have had in a long time, the fish was beautiful, sausage also incredible, chips were a bit sticky (but we did walk back) cannot fault the service as well it was great and the atmosphere was lovely! 5 stars all round will definitely enjoy this as a weekly treat more often

Our first day in Nantwich and just fancied a chippy tea after unpacking boxes and moving stuff around in our new house! Glad I walked into this great shop. Really tasty food. I even got some chicken & kebab meat for free! My ‘go to’ chip shop from now on. Brilliant staff too.

The best fish and chips in Town

Top chip shop. Literally came at 2pm in the afternoon not realising the time. The owner saw how gutted my face was and came out to me and said you look hungry come in my friend. Didn't have to do that. Food was lovely as well. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

May '24. Changed hands and probably name too. Will miss the team from The Market Plaice as they've been super friendly and served fantastic food. I believe they've gone to take over the old Aroma cafe in town which they're opening as a restaurant in the near future.

Although the Market Plaice website is still listing the shop as being Open sign says under new management closed for renovations. Even more frustrating Orders being taken on line by Take Eat which are later cancelled. Suggest the site needs to be updated.

BEST IN NANTWICH!!! Lovely food every time, cannot beat the prices in here definitely worth your money and get plenty for what you pay couldn't reccomend anymore!!!

Great fish, chips & hot curry. Great find after 13 hour day and premier inn doesn't have a restaurant associated with it. Piss poor Premier Inn.

A traditional fish and chips shop. So we thought why not get Donner. Not the wisest move. It was too oily and the meat tasted a bit odd to be honest, we didn't like it at all. I am pretty sure their fish are much better, judging by the long queues they're known for, so I could recommend trying that, but perhaps skip the Donner.

Extensive choice of food to choose from.

Sadly, for the second time in a row, they forgot an item in a takeaway order, despite specifically asking if that item was in the bag. Meant a trip home, then a trip back, then a trip home. Meant the rest of my meal was cold. Apology from the owner, but twice in a row? Just double check! Food is good though, can't deny that, but maybe don't do order of more than 1 item in case they forget to give it to you.

Ordered 4 lightly battered fish and chips all cooked fresh in under 15 mins, possibly the nicest fish and chips I’ve had in a long while. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will return to try the Greek menu.

I cannot recommend this Fish and Chip shop highly enough. We had a small fish each and they were really thick and the batter was delicious. It was the best we have ever tasted. The chips were cooked to perfection. Everyone must give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Well done to the owners and staff.

Ordered through deliveroo and never usually a problem however on this occasion half our order was missing. I called the shop and was immediately accused of lying by the staff, and then they hung up!!! Called back again and was offered an alternative of collecting my food in person, I said I had paid for delivery and wouldn't be doing that and they then said there wasn't another option.....needless to say this is the last time I'll be using this takeaway!!!

Pretty sure I did a review on chopsuey roll last time I had one but it's been a while. My mate Craig off strictly would give it a 10 because it is fab, u, lus! (He would probably say darling afterwards) So nice!

Really nice until you get back home from your 5 mile drive and find you are missing a fish. It was not a complicated order, 2 large fish, 2 chips and a large curry. I will not be going again. I was not prepared to drive back, and because I paid by card, I was told they could not reimburse me the price of the missing fish!!

Nice fish and the chips were fine. The spicy curry sauce is fine if you like a medium (Madras) curry - but not as spicy. Service was quick on a weeknight and the owner was friendly and chatty. New option for salt and pepper squid. Kebabs, pies, quite a comprehensive selection. The large fish and chips I ordered was a good size as you can see. Nearby parking for free after 6pm.

Excellent meals as usual. Tasty moist fish with crispy batter. Kebab well presented and very tasty. Chips ideally cooked. We love the new desserts which could be from a gourmet restaurant.

Wow what a find. Being from Cornwall - I like to think we’ve got the best fish and chips - how wrong could I be! We popped in, whilst in the area visiting family, and from the moment we walked in we knew this place would be special. The staff were very friendly and the food - no other words apart from Outstanding — so fresh and tasted amazing. There was no smell of old chip fat which you get in some establishments. Will definitely recommend this chip shop to anyone in the area and looking forward to returning when back up this way. If the owners are reading this, please move to Cornwall and open a shop!

We always visit 'The Market Plaice' when visiting friends in Nantwich, the best fish & chips we've ever had......and the chicken salad kebab is just delish! Staff really friendly & welcoming.

***** Update to owner: Please do not discredit my genuine review of my experience. I am more than happy to show you my bank statement to prove my visit. Thank you ******* I have to say very disappointed with my order. I bought 3 large cod and chips here on Friday and was not impressed in the slightest. Two of the cods were undercooked with sloppy grease batter and the all the chips were also under cooked. At a hefty £20, I shan't be returning unfortunately.

I have always really enjoyed the food here but recently I feel like the quality of food has gone downhill. The chips are always undercooked now and have no flavour. It has really disappointed me as i have rated this chip shop to family and friends to now feel very let down. I will not be visiting again and wasting my money!
