The Market Place in Leeds

On a visit from Dublin and visited the market ... it is an amazing experience ... food from all over the world and lots of different items to buy... the facilities were superb .. would definitely recommend a visit when in Leeds 🤩

I would like to say the marketplace is the best for giving counselling they listen to you and the staff are very friendly and understanding the registration was straight forward and they got back to me quickly.I have learning disabilities and suffer really badly with my anxiety I had Brian and he is brilliant he tried his best to give me coping strategies he listened to me with no judgment and explained everything at my level I would highly recommend them. 😊

Went there today to buy a wrap…none available …& no ready made sandwiches on display…so ordered a chicken tikka sandwich. it was served in a bap….with inedible old tough chicken tikka, 2 wafer thin slices of cucumber & tomato,1 piece of onion, 1/2 slice of lettuce & small amount of raita . What. let down after the amazing sandwiches & wraps you used to buy there ! & It cost £4.50 !

Looked nice - tasted terrible, gristle and lousy pastry. Bought on day out and don't live in Wetherby so couldn't go back to complain. Won't be going there again. Looks can be very deceptive.

I've shopped here for years, but in recent months things have changed and not for the better. Has there been a chane of ownership or management? Once again terrible service, called in before 9am, hardly anything out on display apart from some items in the window. When I asked if something was fresh today I was told that it was yesterday! I ordered some sandwiches one of which was ham. Come lunchtime I was astounded when I was cutting it to find that the ham wasn't sliced but cut into very small cubes! Clearly the ham wasn't fresh either so what little was left was cut up into cubes with outside dry, fatty edges. The cucumber in the sandwich was sliced so thin that it was almost transparent and the slices were placed all together in the middle of the breadcake. Never before have I had food from here like this or such poor service.

I called in to buy a piece of cake and was waiting in the queue for some time before the lady in front of me said she was waiting for a refund. There were no staff visible. She said she'd bought a sandwich and dessert and had been served by a young 'lad' who had made a sandwich of 1 slice of ham and a lettuce leaf with no butter. The trifle desserts were just liquid. She said she didn't normally complain but this time she was. Eventually a young girl came out and apologised saying it was her brother and he'd only been there a month and she didn't know where the manager was, she didn't work in the shop so all she could do was apologise. It was evident it was going to be a long wait so I left. I did see a review on Facebook from the woman: We called for a sandwich and dessert at your shop today passing through Wetherby . A young 'lad' only 15yrs old served us with a sandwich which was pathetic and a dessert that had melted in the window . No adult was on the premises . I went back into the shop and asked for a refund ..the boy tried ringing the manager who didnt respond ..he hadnt a clue what to do so rang his dad. The father came in threw the money at me and told me to 'Piss Off' by this time the young lad was close to tears!! Why was the boy left to run a delicatessen and make sandwiches on his own in a busy shop at lunchtime . I've called here many times in the past but never again .

A wide choice of lovely food and deserts, local meats & pies. Everything you could want including salads and beautifully cooked meals, served by friendly ladies. It's always a pleasure to go and the Pavlovas are to die for!!

A nice window display enticed me in. I was looking for something for a light tea later. My items came to less than £5 at which point I was told cash only for that amount. Apart from a market stall, since lockdown this is the only place where I've had to pay cash and of course that makes you wonder how much cash they're handling along with food. Fortunately I had just enough coins usually reserved for emergency parking. The lovely sounding Toblerone brownie tasted like any standard brownie. Service was a little surly. Shame

This is the only place I have been where they charge you to butter a bacon butty. They prices are not cheap to start with. They also charge for sauce on your sandwich as well. Pity really as I will now not go back there.

Very nice to walk into this place, staff were friendly, we didn’t have a meal, but we did have some cake, I had some chocolate cake, it was one of the best I have tasted, it just melted in your mouth, my wife had strawberry cheesecake and she said it was nice, and the tea was excellent, my Latte although out of a machine was very acceptable, so glad we went in there

As you walk in, everything looks really nice and presented well. We decided on a bacon sandwich and there were plenty of choice. Unfortunately it wasn't as nice as it looked, the staff are curt as they speak to you and to be honest, when i have been in before i thought this. It is a busy little shop and the staff seemed to want be else where. We asked for the fat to be cut off the bacon which it wasn't and was cooked very lightly so didn't have a lot of flavor. We ordered ham to take away for a sandwich later and wish i hadn't bothered. It was watery and very salty so didn't really enjoy it. It's a shame as it could be a lovely deli but it isn't for me.
