The Marine in Great Yarmouth

Come here yesterday for a couple drinks and, some lunch. Food was lovely and, staff are friendly and, helpful. Great location also.

Came back after a good previous visit,,,,,food good again but the place was freezing felt very unwelcoming. Lad behind bar great but even he was wearing a bobble hat. Came back in April , warmer, had no white wine,,,,, less then 1 star this time

What a great place , friendly staff, nice atmosphere, spent our first night in here set us up for what was 3 great days , we will be back soon love Paul and Tracey x

(The ladies had what looked like feaces on the wall, scum around the toilet handles and seats. No soap in the dispenser either) this quote was left by another person 5 days before we visited this pub and the poo was still on the wall!! Disgusting and our glasses were filthy, the bar staff to busy talking to each other rather than serve the public then kept getting the bill wrong.. my advice get the health environment in there!

Asked for a sandwich not very good

Went for a birthday sat on tables waiting for party to begin got hassled into buying drinks , if not I had to be removed from pub. Very unfriendly bar owner very moody face not happy. Unprofessional and unwelcoming. Had children with me , the whole point of being INVITED to a party is not to just buy drinks for the pub. But to enjoy myself . Noone at our table bought any as we was refusing to give them money . We had decoy drinks put down for us lol

Me and the wonderful landlady Kerry organised a 30th birthday party for my husband and it was amazing, she went above and beyond for us, she was friendly and constantly checking in on us to make sure everything was okay, she even decorated for us and put on a lovely spread of food that went down a treat, they had some entertainment on that guest seemed to enjoy and good selection of drinks something for everyone. Overall fantastic experience and would go there again and would definitely get Kerry to help me organise events again because she was ace 👍

I attended a 30th birthday party here, I found the pub to be very accommodating I had my young baby with me and the bar staff and landlady were very helpful with helping me to access the baby changing area. The bar staff were lovely and very helpful. The food the pub provided for the party was lovely and very well presented. As it was a suprise party it was obviously very important that the cat wasn’t let out of the bag before the event and I can honestly say it was set up very well! We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

The Mrs hosted me a surprise 30th bday here! What a great night and venue! Couldn’t fault the place at all great staff, great vibes, great food. Layed on a lovely spread of food 😃. Gotta say love stick! The security guard 😂 absolute legend. Also land lady was so lovely and nothing but helpful with my wife organising and putting everything on for me 😃😃

Didn't stay so can't comment on rooms but a very pleasant and welcoming. Reasonable prices and friendly managers and staff. Great location on the front at Great Yarmouth with a view of the beach and sea from the good amount of outdoor seating. Also dog friendly which im sure is a definite plus for a lot of people. Been here before when entertainment is on always a fabulous fun atmosphere.

Needs serious money and time spending on it, could be a great place, but for us, it wasn't so good. Saw they served sunday roasts, so we went in. 10.95 for a dinner, 5.95 for a kiddies dinner + drinks. Waited around 30/40 mins in an empty pub, that should hsve been our clue! definitely not worth it, shredded bits of chicken, maybe a tablespoon full. If it was a large chicken they prob got at least 15 portions out of it. Everything else was cooked from frozen. Not nice at all. Kiddies meal was 4 nuggets that had clearly been in the freezer way too long, and a handful of frozen chips, (I asked for ketchup but it never came.) None of us hardly ate anything. The floor was covered in dog hairs, (only noticed after we'd paid) The ladies had what looked like feaces on the wall, scum around the toilet handles and seats. No soap in the dispenser either. Then they started karaoke and the strangest noises were coming out of this woman's mouth. She was probably best thing. 😃 Then a staff member got up to sing, maybe she'd have been better off paying attention to some cleaning. We left and ate elsewhere, didn't even bother asking for a refund. My advice, clean the place up, hoover and clean the floors, get some professional help in the kitchen and for gods sake do something about the loo's. Update next day. We had to rush back to our caravan, the 2 of us that had to chicken were violently sick with chronic diarrhea. Can't say it was the bit of food we did eat, but a massive coincidence if it wasn't.

Had food took for ever to arrive even though the pub was empty the chips were burnt and cold all they offered was more chips and a couple of drinks as an apology used like eating there won't be going back

Nice and friendly place but for a sea side place where kids go, they don’t allow 17 yr olds in after 10 o’clock.

Brilliant stay. Room was very good. Nice sea view. Staff was really friendly. Made us feel very welcome. Entertainment was fantastic. DJ.was excellent music . I would definitely recommend the marine to anyone coming to Yarmouth. Thankyou for a lovely stay. Love Kerry & Jon . Xxxxx

Place is small but quaint.service is slow but pleasant, price not too bad for what you get.outside Court area is lovely as you can see the seafront. Worth a visit.

Dropped in for a few drinks over the weekend. Quite a busy pub but friendly atmosphere. Went for the cocktails of which there was a small selection but tasty. Also live music on the night and a good sized beer garden. Worth dropping into for a round or 3

Came in because being non-peak summer, a lot of places on the beach were closed by 6pm for food, so we popped in. I brought the quarter pounder burger that comes with chips and coleslaw, my finance got the bacon and cheese burger with chips and coleslaw with a pub coke each, came out to £25 so amazing pricing!! Really good portion sizes and our burgers were so good! Chips were amazing too! First time in this pub and very much enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere! Had to give this place 4/5⭐️ though, as the tables were sticky, there’s a few flies (with the windows and door open!) and the smell reminds me of a ‘damp’ smell, but this goes once you start eating your meal! A good, traditional pub. Would also recommend if you have a family and dog as they have a beer garden and serve dog meals too!

Didn't eat there or stay in the rooms. The Beer was OK, The entertainment was Bad. a cheesy karaoke singer, who's p a system was way to loud. Didn't stay to long.

Lovely little Pub for food and drinks. Very traditional and friendly. Could do with a deep clean. We did find a hair in our fish batter, which was swiftly replaced.

Definitely areas of improvement needed. The only plus’s was its location! right on the beech front and they are dog friendly which was great as we had our dog with us. regrettably, this was the best aspect of our visit. Upon entering we were met with an overwhelming stale dog smell which could easily be addressed with regular cleaning and air freshening, we also received an uninviting stare from the member of staff behind the bar, not a great first impression’s. Service was really slow, for our simple order of two ham, egg, and chips which took over 30 minutes to arrive. When it did, the chips were overcooked and tasted of old cooking oil, while the ham was clearly a low quality packet version which isn’t a problem it was predominantly fat with very little meat, i couldn’t eat, The only saving grace was the fried egg. Its location is fantastic, and with some major changes, it could truly shine.

Fantastic venue, Brilliant entertainment and staff and superb owners Aaron and Kerry are the best.

Great place to pop in for a bite to eat. The staff are very friendly, the dogs are welcome and the food was nice! Great all rounder right on the sea side strip £20 for two main meals, dog meal and two alcoholic drinks. Great value!

Please don’t make the mistake of eating here..! It’s significantly overpriced and the potion sizes are akin to kids meals. I paid £42 for 2 meals and 2 drinks and I was very disappointed with the quality of the food I received. We were the only ones in the pub (at 1pm) so that should have been the first warning sign. The positives are the fact it’s dog friendly and the staff are nice, it’s probably perfectly acceptable for drinks only.

Very friendly staff, however young waitress was run off her feet while having to hoover the carpet. She could do with some help. Food was basic and very overcooked. Main meals came out after 25 mins of ordering. Father in law had a dessert, which took 20 minutes to be served. We had to ask for salt twice, to be told that she would have to find some. There were no knives on the condiment unit. No tomatoe sauce had to ask. Finally, the place could do with modernisation. The tables were sticky couldn't put your arms on the table. It felt rather grumby could do with a good clean

I'm 67 Years Old And Have Never Had An English Breakfast As Bad As This. The Food Is Over Cooked And Dry. The Food Was Not Worth The Price. The Tables, Floors, Seats, Doors And Bathrooms Are Un-Clean And Overall This Is Not A Good Place To Go.
