The Marina African Restaurant in Nottingham

Bad customer treatment. I almost left angrily. I had to sit for ages before being attended to and made to choose my meals multiple times. Terrible customer service. Don’t go there hungry 😂😂😂

This is one of the most in fact, not one of the most, but the most horrible looking and tasting a EGUSI I have ever had my entire life. I ordered EGUSI Welcome with mixed meat. I got meat in a lunchbox. It looked like a stew and it looked like it like breadcrumbs on the top, I’m not quite sure what was in that lunchbox but it’s definitely not what I ordered. I was very very, extremely disappointed as I had travelled a good 20 minutes to go and pick up this order for it to only be a lunchbox full of rubbish. I will not be going back there. the meat was tough, even a dog cannot eat the meat that I got yesterday- a dog will not be able to eat it, that’s how bad it was Never again!!!

Nigeria away from Nigeria. I had the pounded yam& egusi soup and my bro had the asu gizzard. The egusi soup can make you divorce your wife and slap your mama, no joke. The Asu is spicy hot, exotic. The restaurant has an African vibe with a Naija twist, the atmosphere is vibrant & truly African. The proprietor is professional, courteous & friendly. I recommend an Old Old pami wine. Marina comes highly recommended

I have bought food from the Marina for about 6 years now. I’m in no way a regular customer, I’ve probably averaged once or twice a year, but I still wanted to review. Tonight, I got their isiewu, beans , plantain and assorted meat, and suya. Really really tasty, very generous portions and authentic Nigerian food. The owner’s customer service has also greatly improved. He’s nice, and will greet you with a smile and chat with you if you’re so inclined. Highly recommended.

Just everything you need in African restaurant. Try it once, and you will always see yours coming back without knowing

Nice plantain and grilled fish. Owner was hands on and made us feel welcome. Reasonably priced too

It is a SIX STAR, and FIRST CLASS, very affordable, eating place for every class!!! It is a place of relaxation over highly hygienic, well prepared and tasty dishes with assorted drinks. A visit there, would be convincing.

Great service and hospitality, and outstanding food. The pounded yam and bitter leaf soup were amazing. Highly recommend.

So insanely good. Most flavourful rice, crispiest sweet plantains and perfectly spiced chicken. Owner/chef really nice.

I called this restaurant to order a meal and the person on the phone, turns out he owns the business, was quite impatient and unhelpful. When we eventually got into the restaurant, we found him to be pompous, aggressive and was more interested in letting us know he owns the business and the building than listening to us. His wife was very dismissive and wouldn't listen as well. As far as she is concerned her husband word rules. It is my first time eating egusi bought from a restaurant that had no single orishirishi inside. It was empty and bland. I definitely will not recommend this restaurant. Zero customer service. Regretted going.

The food was great- after trying it with my partner I placed a bigger order for a family event straight after! The team helped amend my order to make sure I got the best value out of the meal deal pricing, and were really accommodating with collection times and food packaging as we come out of lockdown. Will definitely keep going back!! Thanks

Great food, proper African sized portions to go for the price and orange Fanta just like Nigeria. Would and will go again. Ambiance can be a bit off but that's not why you go.

Friendly hosts, the meals were tasty and satisfying. Reminiscent of home. The heating could be better. Although I may be biased due to the fact that I just arrived in the UK and not yet used to the cold.

The food was superb. Myself, son and daughter had dinner here one night and did not want to leave. It is a family run restaurant co-owned by a Nigerian Husband and English wife team, and you are treated like royalty. Nicely decorated. You can also watch the football league matches here while eating in comfort. Everyone is welcome and there is an extensive menu to choose from. Reasonably priced too. A nice place to meet up with friends. Can't wait to come back to Nottingham to eat here again.

Best African restaurant iv been to so far. Food came in record time and it was well cooked. The meats were very tasty. Il be back.

It has improved alot over the years but public relations by the management needs to be better, maybe more staff during the weekend when is busy will help too
