Such a warm welcome from Sunny who made the effort to greet everyone personally and took the time to speak to everybody. What a lovely man.The food was delicious too, certainly didn't disappoint after reading all the positive reviews. Generous portions and very tasty, Can't believe I've never tried this place before!

Wow! Such excellent food and service, this was our first visit and we can't wait to return!Thank you to Sonny, he is by far the best waiter we have ever had, sorry we didn't get the names of the young lad and the older gentlemen but they were also excellent. There were 4 of us and we each went for the set menu, mixed starter which was gorgeous. I could have eaten the whole platter to myself. Ribs so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, spring rolls really flavourful and crispy, prawn toast was spot on, I've never had prawn toast as good before. For main we each had, sea bass, crispy beef, prawns and cashew and tibetan lamb. We all had a little dip in each others food and everything was absolutely amazing. We also had the salt and pepper chips which we reckon are the best we've ever had! Thank you so much! We are literally sat looking at the calendar planning our next visit.

First time at the Maple Tree, read the reviews and decided to try it, what a fantastic welcome we received, very friendly and attentive, asked our names and remembered them all night (Gail and Andy) , Sonny is a lovely man and all his staff were COVID safe and did lots of cleaning of tables and chairs.The food was fantastic, we both had the set meals and everything was beautifully cooked and presented. We have never had such soft and tender meat before and cooked to perfection, big thank you to the chef. Sonny make sure you show this to your son ! Thanks for a great evening.

This was our first meal out as a couple since the lockdown began, so we had to book early due to babysitters, so we were the only ones in the restaurant. But it didn't matter. In fact it made our meal feel quite special and intimate.The food is exceptional and i'd fully recommend visiting here. My dad, who's a Chef, learnt from watching the Makan Stalls while living in Singapore, so I've always been spoiled with the best Chinese food. And the Maple Tree doesn't disappoint. We'll definitely visit again, and use it for take-outs as well.

We visited as a family tonight for our youngest’s birthday. We received a friendly welcome and the service was fantastic throughout our visit. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed their meals. Have just had the most delicious meal at the Maple Tree. The food, atmosphere and most of all the service and friendliness of Sunny and his team were all wonderful. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. As a vegetarian there was plenty of choice. The salt and pepper aubergine was particularly lovely. Go and experience Sunny's friendly reception and attentiveness. It's second to none!

We was recommended this place by my sister and brother in law who have been going for years. I am over the moon they invited us tonight. It was just what was needed, 10/10 service 10/10 food 10/10 atmosphere. Totally relaxed no rushing us and drinks topped up when they were getting low. Sunny and the team were just so lovely. Sunny had the banter and a few lovely stories to tell. You all should be so proud. Of your customer service. You have to visit this restaurant without a doubt.

We normally go into the restaurant for special family meals. The service and food is always outstanding. Mums birthday had to be a takeaway tonight. The Food, as usual, was perfect. Thank you Sunny 🌞

We came here during the eat out help out, the food was amazing, as always, we have been on a number of occasions prior to this. We were slightly disappointed that the prices had increased to nearly £15 for a main course (without rice or noodles) something like £14.90 for a sweet and sour chicken, and the food food portions were much smaller. We went expecting it to be half price, ended up paying nearly the same price as usual because of the price increase and left a little hungry! Fully understand that the restaurants have been massively impacted by the current pandemic however I don’t think this is the way to make it right. Left a 5* as the food was delicious as always, but just a shame about the price and portions.

Not been here for a few years, live a fare distance away, remembered how lovely the food was last time, the food was lovely and authentic and the hospitality second to none, will be back xx

My partner and I have recently moved to the area and We’ve already indulged in several of the local restaurants, however the Maple Tree is by far our favourite. Fresh, friendly and great service!

Wouldn’t eat Chinese at anywhere else locally. Often go for a takeaway and the food is always very tasty. You never find yourself waking up in the middle of the night because of lashings if sodium glutamate like with other Chinese meals. Would highly recommend

We visited the Maple tree last night for the first time and had an absolutely lovely time. The owner, Sunny, was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had the set menu which was really delicious (recommend the steak!)The restaurant is very covid conscious too which is always good to see in these times when eating out. The tables weren't full but a lot of people were picking up takeaways which is a good sign! Thanks - we will be back soon! :)

Celebrate my 60th birthday here with family and the whole experience was just fantastic. Met the owner Sunny and he couldn’t do enough for us throughout the meal from walking in to leaving. The food was just superb and I couldn’t fault in anyway but just wanted to say it’s not the cheapest as you can get cheaper in the area but it was worth it. You have to book for a table and they also do take away orders. There’s no menu’s because of Covid-19 you have to order from the website from your phone but it wasn’t an issue. Please try it I think you’ll like it and please see the photos attached.

Visited here with a few friends, with a couple of us being vegetarians we just wanted to share a lot of starters as we normally tend to have more selection with chinese starters than mains, the owner said that this was not acceptable and if we wanted to eat at the restaurant we would have to order mains and asked us to leave. Quite disappointing as this has always been okay at other restaurants A lot of the reviews seem fabricated as the reviewer only has 1 5 star review for this restaurant...The prices are quite high compared to other chinese restaurants around Stockport.In my opinion this restaurant is nothing special and definitely not the number 1 restaurant to visit around Marple.

We are staying down the road for the weekend and called in here for tea. I have literally never eaten such tasty Chinese food in my life as I did tonight. Had a great evening at the Marple Tree Chinese. Sunny was very friendly and welcoming into his restaurant. Took time to speak to us. Felt like friends and “not just another customer”. So a great welcome atmosphere. Food was fantastic. Great quality. If you are looking for a place to eat, and enjoy brilliant food, then this is the place to go. We travelled from Chester after a recommendation from friends. It was certainly worth it. Thank you.

My wife and I visited the Maple Tree yesterday evening for a return visit after Covid closure. We had a fantastic meal up to their Excellent standard. We enjoyed Ribs, crispy spring rolls, chicken and cashews and sizzling beef with green peppers and black bean sauce. All were excellent and could not fault the food and service. Will be returning. Saw all of the reviews and was really excited to try the place out. First and last visit as I was so disappointed. Can hand on heart say its the blandest Chinese meal I've ever had. Bbq ribs has no taste, sweet and sour chicken was just pineapple and batter without the actual chicken and other dishes were just not even worth commenting on. For the money there's nicer places.

Whilst I can't grumble at the quality of the food I can at the PRICES. I know times have been hard for everyone but they seem to have hiked up the prices massively and my husband and I will NOT be returning. We can have just as nice a meal near home for cheaper. We were there on Saturday as a party of 8 for a birthday and if it had just been the two of us we would have left as we don't like being ripped off.

My wife and I have eaten here several times, this was our first visit post covid-19.On every occasion the food has been excellent but there are plenty of other Chinese restaurants to choose from offering the same quality and hospitality. My rating in no way reflects the quality of the food.Whilst never the cheapest of places it is evident there has been a significant price hike. Too late and inconvenient to find another place to eat we decided to stay but I bitterly resent feeling I have been fleeced.I can wholeheartedly recommend the Tom Yam Thai restaurant up at Poynton as a similarly priced but in my view superior option.

We come here every year for birthdays and it is a great experience!! Sunny is the best host to have and provide the good food and the good smiles!! Amazing place and food ! Come here and you won’t be dissapointed

After seeing all the reviews we were looking forward to trying the Maple Tree. I really don’t see how the restaurant gets the ratings it does. We ordered take out which we were told was the same standard of food. The food was nothing like we expected. The barbecue ribs were bone dry with little flavour, they tasted like they had been sat on the side for a few days. The spring rolls were ok just on the soggy side. The main course of sweet and sour chicken was nearly all batter barely any actual chicken and the Yeung Chow rice tasted completely bland. The only saving grace was the chicken and sweetcorn soup which my daughter ordered. Despite lacking much flavour she enjoyed it. Totally disappointed and won’t be going back for another visit.

This was our first night out since Covid19 started.So glad we chose this restaurant for our night out.The food was out of this world,the staff are so friendly and attentive. Social distancing and cleanliness was first class. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a beautiful Chinese meal. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

We visited during an Eat out to Help Out evening. The staff were very friendly but clearly overwhelmed by the volume of business. They didn't check our booking on arrival, and we were standing around for a while before a table was found, then waiting for around 20 minutes before we were asked about drinks, or offered a menu. There was no 4G phone signal nor any obvious wifi to look at a menu online. In fairness, the two front of house staff were literally running between tables trying to get around to everybody, but it seemed like a lot of the COVID19 precautions were getting neglected in the rush.. Anyway, when the food that we ordered arrived, it was really excellent, and the whole party enjoyed it. We'd definitely consider a return visit at a less hectic time, perhaps when the COVID threat has subsided.

Fancy something Chinese and authentic? The Maple Tree is just the ticket. We had to book for Wednesday night they were very busy. Maybe it was the eat out to help out deal. Couldn't fault the food - everything was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. Lovely surroundings very clean - staff constantly tidying. Had a choice of Budweiser or Chinese beer no brainer really Tsingtao all the way ( don't do American cooking lager). A fair price too. One tiny point to keep in mind if you're of a nervous disposition. This place was rammed ! It was very busy indeed and although we're not bothered I'm sure there would be people who would think twice .Apart from that - all good - we will return.

Just returned from the restaurant lovely food and good Service, too expensive, drastic difference from the takeaway prices to sitting in. No body else dining,probably because of price. Its cheaper at Mr Chongs Disley and MCR China Town, personally think they are out pricing themselves.

First visit since earlier this year and pre-lockdown. used teh Eat out to Help Out and was really pleased to see the restauarant was busy but most importantly felt safe. All COVID measures well observed, regular sanitising of tables and chairs. Well done to Sunni and the staff for a safe evening and the food as good as ever

Food good and average service but the prices are extremely expensive. Rice isn’t included in the price of a dish and all dishes are about £11/14. Managed to eat on the eat out to help out scheme so got 50% off - however the full price for 3 adults with no starters or alcoholic drinks was £50! Food was tasty and hot but not the best value for money.

Finally it’s reopened after lockdown and the Maple Tree didn’t disappoint Chicken lettuce wrap, salt and pepper ribs and prawn on toast as good as ever!Mains spot on as well, everything tasted fresh and flavourful.Great to see Sunny on form as usual.If you’ve never been here give it a go!

This was our first meal out since lockdown started so naturally we felt a bit nervous but we did not need to be. We booked in advance so our track and trace details were already filled out, and there was an area to sanitise our hands before entering. We were then shown to our table which was distanced from others and all the staff were wearing PPE, which is very reassuring. The food was delicious and the waiter was honest about portion sizes, advising us against ordering extra rice (where other places would’ve encouraged you to spend more money.) We found this restaurant from the Eat Out to Help Out list online however would have no issue paying full price in the future, it was a very safe, clean environment with lovely food and staff.

Had a takeaway from the Maple Tree last night (Saturday 14th) absolutely beautiful food, so lovely to be able to have such high quality food in the restaurant, but also as a take out menu.

Following the reviews here, we phoned for a takeaway today and oh my goodness, we were not disappointed. What a gem! Delicious starters, generous duck portion & yummy mains from the set menu. Only downside is that sadly we aren't local so can't order more frequently.

Everything was very easy - I rang to place an order then walked down to collect it. I was there in ten minutes and after a couple of minutes my food was ready. The gentleman was extremely friendly and has a genuine interest in his customers and the food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Will definitely be coming again!

If you visit this restaurant, you are in for a wonderful treat. The food is spectacular, the service is exceptional and Sunny the proprietor is very welcoming. It is a delightful experience. Eight of us celebrated our parents silver wedding here last night. First time visit for us all but definitely not our last! Nice friendly atmosphere. Sonny and his staff looked after us very well. Been to Maple Tree with my son and daughter-in-law several times over the past few years,the food, although your usual Cantonese fare, is always spot on, staff are great too, overseen by Sunny, who’s almost worth visiting on his own!

We ordered take away salt and pepper fish & Chicken in Blackbean sauce. The food was absolutely brilliant and Sunny was just lovely. The quality of the food was fabulous. Will be back for sure

Been this afternoon for the Chinese New Year special menu and have one word “amazing”!!!! All 15 dishes were so tasty, very well organised and super staff. Sonny and team you served a perfect meal.

Went on Saturday on the last minute, the staff said they could fit 12 of us in and they accommodated us so so well.

My husband and I visited on Sunday evening and enjoyed another excellent meal. Sunny, Summer and their team are fantastic hosts and the food was superb!

Sunny and his Chinese staff team are great hosts here. Personally, I'd lose the few English staff they have and replace them with Chinese.

Wow just fantastic! We came the day just before New Year’s eve so they were short on staff but with only having three they did amazing! They made sure everything was ok and we had enough food! They gave us our egg fried rice in a big bowl so we could help ourselves which worked out great! Best egg fried rice i’ve ever had! The guy Sunny was lovely and came over to make sure we were ok and went and did us some more rice. He came over to learn our names and was so sweet! He made sure we were warm enough and that the fire wasn’t too hot. He really made our night and we will definitely be back!

We wanted a nice chinese meal in between Xmas and before New Year. We were not disappointed. The food was lovely, we ordered spare ribs, bbq and salt and pepper, beef in black bean with green pepper, chilli chicken, sweet and sour chicken with rice. The beef was so tender and the rice cooked perfectly! Star of the show was sunny, lovely man who can not do enough for you. We will all definitely be booking again. Fabulous restaurant! Sunny gave us the best welcome, took the trouble to learn our names, celebrated my Mum’s birthday with ice cream and a candle and played happy birthday and jingle bells on his harmonica. Great food and service and will definitely be back.

We don't often eat Chinese when we eat out as we've never found a decent place since most of China Town in Manchester has gone. Given the reviews that are written on here, we decided to give it a try and boy, we were not disappointed.

We moved to Marple bridge 6 months ago and kept meaning to try this place but never got round to it. Tonight we did and what a lovely night. The staff are SO friendly and we were made to feel like we had been coming for years: so welcoming. The food was delicious

This was our first visit to the Maple Tree and there will be many more. Sunny introduced himself and made us so welcome. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and tasty. I particularly recommend the Tibetan Lamb. Looking forward to returning soon.

We were greeted warmly when we arrived, on a wet miserable Friday evening. The restaurant very soon became busy but this did not prevent our host giving us some individual friendly attention. The food was all excellent - my husband particularly liked the barbecued spare ribs. We will definitely come again!

The best Chinese food this side of the far east ! The food was absolutley outstanding. Having lived in China for a period of time, the food is authentic but delicious. Home cooked and will suit any pallet! Very well cooked, not greasey in the slightest unlike many similar restaurants. Delicious well cooked, traditional homemade chinese food. Absolutley outstanding. The only thing better than the food was Sunny our waiter eho was personable and friendly and absolutley made our evening! Would reccomend this restaurant to absolutley anybody !

Went for dinner with family before my birthday. Greeted personally upon entering and staff/owner remembered my family. Served for both drinks and food expediently and with friendly conversation. Food was fantastic, great range and decent value for money.
