The Santa Experience was one of two halves, really. Santa, himself, and Hannah the elf were wonderful to see. Both were full of joy and energy; both made the experience lots of fun and as magical as possible. These visits are always somewhat "conveyor belt" in style, but both worked hard to mitigate against this, and their show was lots of fun. Sadly, The Mansion team were not on board with this effort of magic-making. We had a cheese-free meal, which was lovely, but not presented in a bird cage, as with all our other tables' food but on plates spread out around the table. This meant other families were tucking in to our platters before they realised and then passing over what was left. We were told it would be sorted. It wasn't. Then, our little boy was headed to the toilet when Ella told him he couldn't because he was due to see Santa. Er...no. He's a child who needed a wee and, as I told her, Santa could either wait 45 seconds or have a wet lap for the remainder of his day. She wasn't happy, but agreed. By the time my son came back, he was still queuing to wait for 5 minutes, so I am still baffled as to why he wasn't initially permitted to go! On top of that, she was chewing gum the whole time...I mean, The Mansion is supposed to give an air of professionalism and this doesn't do it. Sadly, our time was then ended with children having a beanbag fight and almost knocking over the present wall. No staff intervened. It became like a horrendous soft play. What should have been a lovely afternoon tea experience in beautiful surroundings, was actually an expensive sandwich, handled by other guests, watching staff chew gum and guard the toilets...whilst Santa and Hannah tried their best to make things great. Clearly, a tired crew who had given up on making each sitting as special as the first. Such a shame.

Amazing!! My 8 year old has started to ask a lot of questions about if Santas real etc this year, we came out and she was convinced he was the real Santa! Magic!

The Santa experience was brilliant. The Santa and elf Hannah were amazing. The singing and little stories were funny and great to join in! The experience in santas work shop was amazing, the decoration and time was great. The afternoon tea was delicious! Thank you! 🤩

The Santa experience was absolutely amazing. Looked for something we hadn’t done before and this was definitely one of our favourites. The staff were brilliant. The Santa was incredible and the food was brilliant too. Will definitely be back next year. Thank you!

Children really enjoyed the Santa experience except they were disappointed with the gifts. My 5 year old got a present for a 3 year old. For the money we paid the presents could be better.

This was an amazing experience, I’m pretty sure they’ve found the real Fr Christmas!! The show was brilliant and a lovely afternoon tea to follow with a personal meet and greet in Santa’s grotto and a present for the children. The only slight adjustment I would have made would have been to allow families to go in to see Fr Christmas separately rather than as a whole table. People have different family traditions; elf’s etc and it would be easier to keep the illusion for the children if we weren’t in with other families who are doing different things.

Wonderful experience (again) - Santa and Hannah the Elf were brilliant. Such fun for kids and adults. And a shout out to the supporting staff too who do a great job.

Santa was amazing! From stepping inside The Mansion we felt very comfortable. Santa went above and beyond what we expected. The singing and dancing was an added bonus. The children were treated really special. Santa made a point of speaking to everyone. What a great experience. Well Done all staff.

The best Santa experience there is. Santa claus is absolutely wonderful and the place is beautifully decorated. Food lovely. Would definitely recommend.

This was such a lovely Santa experience, very impressed with it all. Not just seeing Santa for a few minutes like many others we have been to. Very authentic Santa who spoke to the children and sang songs for about 20 mins, there was a good selection of sandwiches, cakes, tea/coffee whilst we waited to see Santa and then he came out again to see everyone again at the end. Definitely recommend and would go again next year :)

We recently visited for the Santa Experience. Santa was excellent, very engaging and entertaining. The songs were brilliant. Unfortunately the food wasn't so great, nor was the tea, they ran out and then weren't able to get more. In just under 90 mins, we had one cup of tea. Overall, for the price paid, it wasn't price efficient. However, Santa was excellent and my little one enjoyed it.

We had the best time meeting santa. From the moment we walked in we felt christmas all around us. The staff did a great job. The afternoon tea was very nice, but it was all about santa and he did not let us down. From amazing dancing and singing to lovely chats. Well worth the visit. Thank you to all involved.

This was a really fun and enjoyable experience. I feel the addition of a story with santa whilst the children were all sat on the beanbags would have been lovely. The dance was amazing. Afternoon tea really nice too. The sandwiches were a bit hard as they had been out before we came to the room. This would have been better brought out as each table had seen santa.

I do like the Mansion with the very pleasant cafe unlike the lakeside cafe that churns through a large and loud conveyor belt of customers each waiting far too long to be served, being given very average food with measly portions (scones never any butter, jacket potatoes never any butter and the smallest amount of cheese and chips included in the meal totalled seven - 7 chips, side salad no tomatoes) and vastly over charged - £5 for a very small slice of cake ! Thank goodness for the Mansion.

We fell in love with the venue at first sight but it was Liam's knowledge, professionalism and positive attitude that sealed the deal for us. Liam and his crew were the most supportive, organised, and professional team to work with. The whole day ran smoothly and seamlessly and they ensured we and our guests were comfortable and happy all day. The team was especially supportive of the bride's particular dietary requirements, and made sure she was able to enjoy the food just as much as everyone else, which was very important to us. Many of our guests have approached us to tell us that the day was perfect, the food fantastic, and the staff wonderfully accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, and the building is immaculate. The photos we got to take are stunning. Highly recommend The Mansion for any event, but you will have a perfect wedding here. Thank you so much Liam and team, you're the best!

Absolutely beautiful place. The staircase is amazing and looked beautiful with all the candles on it. Lovely big reception room with a bar. Stunning chandelier that I would have liked to bring home but I think my ceiling would of fell down. Lol. Staff were lovely too.

Lovely Spot with a Great View, But Toilets Need Attention I recently visited the Mansion Café at Roundhay Park, and I was really impressed with the beautiful view and the overall location. It’s a perfect spot to grab a coffee and enjoy the surrounding scenery. The coffee itself was excellent, and the café has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. However, the only downside was the condition of the toilets. Unfortunately, they were quite dirty, unclean, and there was a strong unpleasant smell. This really took away from what could have been a perfect visit. Hopefully, management can address this issue soon, as it would make the experience even better.

The perfect place for the after wedding ceremony. An exquisite bar & seating area, good food, waiters if you like. I remember Jazz nights at one time, a lovely excuse to visit the building. Overnight stay not provided yet !

Went here for afternoon tea for my friend's mini hen do - we had a great afternoon. The service was brilliant and food was delicious and filling. The setting at the top of beautiful Roundhay Park is also really special. We all said how we'd happily visit again!

To be clear, this review relates to the cafe rather than the event venue. If you are at this end of Roundhay Park and in need of some refreshment then this is a good option. It has a limited but big enough breakfast and lunch menu. The food and pricing are typical of such establishments. It is nothing out of the ordinary but it all works well.

Called in with our 1 year old grandson my wife and her 2 sisters for toasted teacakes..butter and jam and various drinks. Served by one of the lovely waitresses that's always very friendly and pleasant. We managed to get an outside table for 4 (20) as it was pleasantly warm for a change. Spent a very nice hour there..our little grandson loved it.

One of the best places in Leeds to have a wedding, meetings and events. Great host and wonderful staffs.

Could update parking.... Especially for disability. There was plenty of space for parking at the front. Why couldn't this have happened.??

Honestly we felt quite spoilt. A delightful afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. The knowledgeable staff talked us through all the different teas available (of which there were many) After some tastings I went with a delicate green tea tasting of cherry. This paired well with the sandwiches, scones and cakes. Yum.

Not only is the view of roundhay park and this glorious old manor house simply breathtaking, but the food and service were superb. The loaded nachos and the potato and leek soup were by far the best of either that I have ever had, and their hot beverages were equally pleasing. The little art gallery tucked next to the Cafe is a lovely way to end a visit as well.

Now it's getting warmer you can sit outside ... with your food/drink brought out to you. Otherwise eat inside and enjoy the 1930s??? decor.

My husband and I planned our Asian wedding here for December 2023 and we had the best experience with Liam and the team. Every request or concern was met instantly during our planning process and the team ensured the wedding day ran as smoothly as possible! We had absolutely no worries throughout the whole process. The wedding day went perfectly; and the venue was set up beautifully. We absolutely loved our time here as did our family and friends. The venue is stunning inside and out and the team is just so amazing. We definitely recommend to any future wedding planners!

Not our best experience I must say, more like a staff training day, not really knowing what to do.. after some confusion finding our booking we eventually got seated, my teacup had red lipstick marks on it, yuk.. there were crumbs all around my chair obviously from the last person who’d sat there which I found all very off putting also.. the afternoon tea was forgettable and the scone was bite size one.. so tiny it was a joke. One teapot for four people meant we had to keep asking for a refill, the whole experience was very disappointing one and not worth the £35 each by a long way. I hope this review goes someways to you taking another look at what’s on offer and upping your game!!

We visited Santa and had a fantastic experience

My friend had a wedding there and the venue is so good! Liam the manager is very friendly and experienced in his job. The one thing I can pick on was the sound system, it was buzzing a bit during the groom's speech

Amazing grounds for lovely peaceful walks. Cafe was very busy . for a old stately mansion it's nice .

We used a conference room. It was nice with beautiful views. I have also attended a charity ball here which was also a great experience.

Food choices are an atrocity. Coffee was lovely and so are the staff.

Nice looking building at the top of Roundhay Park. Contain a restaurant and conference facilities I believe. Also contains a cafe for day to day visitors. Sells cakes and coffee at the usual inflated prices you might expect at a grand looking place.

Very cozy and great to come back to after a walk in the Lake District. Decorated nicely and lovely views.

A lovely building with compassionate staff and ease of access. Next to a large car park and Round Hay park in general so perfect for family get-togethers!

We had our wedding ceremony there last week. The place itself is the grand compliment to our special day. Liam , the event manager , is amazing , very helpful and his calmness is what the anxious bride and groom most need. We thoroughly enjoyed our special day

It's been quite a few years since I last visited but it's still very nice.

Little bit pricey, however, the staff were lovely and helpful, and the tea was loose leaf which is rare these days. Delightful.

The garden cafe is so very inviting. The food was fantastic and the coffee was splendid.

We had an amazing wedding and we can't praise Liam enough. He went above and beyond to make our day special and nothing was too much trouble for him. This is saying a lot considering how much we asked him to do. Top wedding venue for intimate weddings. Highly recommend for Asian style wedding.

Quite nice. Just coming up to closing time at around 4.00 pm. People were still arriving so would have thought it financially viable to stay open an hour later. Had to have drinks served in a paper cup owing to imminent closing

Attended my nieces wedding last weekend at The Mansion. What a fabulous setting Roundhay Park looked magnificent with its dusting of Christmassy frosting. The Mansion is an elegant, classy venue. The food was amazing, the best lamb I’ve ever eaten! The staff were wonderful, very professional yet still friendly. A good time was had by all.

Had lunch at the Garden Room today with friends and very impressed with the whole package: staff, food, atmosphere and value for money. Staff were very friendly and efficient; food was simple but good quality and reasonably priced; seating was comfortable and it's a great location. Seating indoor and out; free on-street parking nearby. Busy throughout so may be worth booking ahead.

Just had a coffee with friends very nice.

Had a great hour here, with a string quartet. Entertainment provided by Fever, check them out they have some fab sounding events coming up. Great staff and nice to see Darren again.

The Garden Room is a delightful place to meet for a snack, the staff are smart and friendly and welcoming, George served me and had all the qualities that makes a good Manager it is vastly superior to the all humoured Management at the Lakeside down the hill kind regards Chris White

Gorgeous venue for a bespoke, humanist wedding ceremony - such a lovely events manager and team as well.

My husband and I got married here and it was amazing. Everything went smoothly. The staff were really amazing - shout out to Liam Cheeseman. Honestly it is well worth the price for less stress, a beautiful venue and helping you and your guests have a fabulous time!

Went for a wedding. The location is lovely, the staircase is a plus. The venue is small and intimate. The grounds are gorgeous 😍

Called for a wrap and a cappuccino yesterday, on a quiet Friday afternoon. having had lovely coffees to take out during lockdown, I was stunned how the quality of food and drink had crashed. The cappuccino was disgusting, watery and made with cheap bitter beans. The chicken wrap (prepacked from the cooler) was soggy, with thick bread and little filling. My son said he gets better wraps at the school canteen. These two items cost nearly 9 pounds, a good price for an exquisite venue such as that but a total rip-off for the quality served. We will head straight down to the lakeside cafe next time.
