Excellent service cooked by the Italian owner quality food Italian wines I recommend it to anyone who eats Italian

Went to the mad Italian earlier on today really enjoyed it I had the tortellini and my friend had the pasta bolognese the food was amazing however very rich, Staff was very engaging unpleasant I'll definitely be going back again

What a lovely hidden gem, we stumbled across by chance, and so glad we did. Really enjoyable I had beef carbonara with rice my 7yr old son had Mac & cheese and we share a beautifully made garlic n tomato bread one size thin base about 14 inches .. we kind of ordered a bit too much but we took some home with us in a kindly provided take away box. Excellent service and atmosphere too .. you don’t expect to find somewhere like that but glad we did. The Naploese chef and owner also came out to see us and could easily play a character in a martin Scorsese film. We will be back with the rest of the family for sure.. are you looking at me ?

Fantastico! This is the best Italian I’ve ever had and it not highly recommended but a must do/not to be missed! Everything was splendid, ambience, staff, quality of food, drinks…..and the tiramisu has to be tried, authentic, delicious and home made by Luciano himself! Book in quick and I’ll be revisiting regular even though I live 40 miles away…..

Was staying at a local chain hotel and did a quick search for restaurants in the area. Great find and very friendly

First time menus unusual but omg the polo chicken was cooked to perfection the sauce was amazing so so tasty, the lobster ravioli was delicious too the giant prawn was a challenge but tasty staff were very helpful friendly no hassle worth waiting for will definitely come again that meal was unbelievable

Booked a table for 2 at 6pm...we went at 5:30 and was told we could go to our table straight away, no bother at all. We had pizza and pasta and it was absolutely beautiful!!! The staff were very attentive, welcoming and went above and beyond!! Thank you so much!!! You made my evening! X

Charming little place. Left very well fed, sadly was not drinking wine but my friend was recommended a beautiful red.

First visit here and didn't disappoint,the food is top class and the staff are very welcoming. We shared a brushcetta and then ordered steak and chips and a beef stroganoff. Both were outstanding, in fact probably the best steak I've ever had. All washed down with lovely wine and ice cold beer. Was looked after very well by the lovely lady at the front of the restaurant.

Cannot fault a single thing! The food is always incredible, authentic and full of flavour. I don’t even need to ask for a dish, I just tell the owner I’m a vegetarian and he takes care of the rest. Two occasions I’ve done the same, the first we received a creamy, rich white sauce pasta full of vegetables and I thought it couldn’t get better than that. The second time I did the same, asked for a veggie dish, and received an exquisite tomato pasta, creamy and delicious. Also not a huge fan of cheese on my pizzas so asked for a tomato garlic bread both times and it did not disappoint, the best pizza dough I’ve tasted. I have dreams about this food, it’s so good! I have recommended The Mad Italian to so many people, it’s my favourite Italian place EVER.

Great little venue. Atmosphere and service were spot on. Nice selection of wines as well. If you like Italian food you will struggle to find a place more authentic in the area.

Impromptu visit to this place whilst on business in Hull. What a find! Simple yet fun decor inside, genuine Italian guy owner and chef with quite a story! He cooked a whole sea bass for 2 of us to share, all food delicious and plentiful. Excellent choice of wine.

Best Italian food I’ve ever had! Service and atmosphere was unique🇮🇹

Visited here for the first time and had the lunchtime special menu of pizza or pasta, and a drink. I had the Parma ham pizza which was absolutely delicious, and a very palatable glass of red wine. £10 in total. Excellent value and I’ll definitely go again. Highly recommended!

Great food, great host. I ate alfresco at lunchtime so hence I really didn't get to appreciate the atmosphere. The host was friendly and more than obliging. Bolognese was really tasty without overpowering tomato acidity. The Italian beer was excellent and very quofible.

The food was brilliant we as a family really enjoyed our meal was our first time here and the chief was very welcoming and the rest of the staff was spot on!

A-MA-ZING PLACE! Chef is Italian and is mad... just absolutely positive way. You won't eat better seafood even at Michellin restaurants. Hope to come back soon. Grazie CHEF!!!
