Very nice service. Food decent but portions have gone even smaller than before.

Decided to try this place again after a couple of years away. Had to wait much longer than advised. Food was luke warm. Very greasy and much of it was burnt. The prawn toast was very chewy. Not had such a poor experience for a long time and this unfortunately was shocking. Maybe I’ll try again in another few years

I have been several times in the past, and yesterday, I ordered a special curry. The meat & onions were greasy, and the curry sauce was strong in flavour but very watery in texture.

Go to billy roughly every other Saturday his food is delicious and is always lovely with his customers

Well I have to say the food here is very tasty. I have really enjoyed eating food from this takeaway because the service is on time for collection every time. Also I would recommend the crispy shredded chicken in chilli sauce goes down a treat.

First time so only tried a few simple dishes the salt and pepper stuff was bland and came served with half a jar of burnt lazy garlic. I really wanted to like this place but didn't rate it at all I have heard it can be hit and miss....this was a miss.

Usually great but last night was very poor. Ordered Singapore fried rice but got standard, the crispy seaweed was full of sugar (too much) and prawn crackers over done greasy and some burnt..... Shame 1* Update the last few times visiting in 2022 it has been a lot better and back to its decent standard 👍 4*

Can't fault this Chinese takeaway one bit always been a go too the special fried rice with sauce is a good dish and portion sizes are decent it also has a 5 for food hygiene rating which is an added bonus

The best salt & pepper crispy chicken

Been to lotus once before and didn't rate it. After it was recommended not been for over 12 months and it was exactly the same today Chips are from the freezer. No real taste to the other food . Also the owner tried to short change two customers while I was waiting.

Ordered a lotus last night (28 Jan 2022) and I have to say I was really disappointed 😭. This place has always been my favourite Chinese for many years and it’s always a nice treat when we go there. However the food we normally order tasted different … the salt n pepper ribs weren’t the same and the beef and green pepper dish has changed, even the chips were different 😞. The beef and mushroom was quite bland. I’m not complaining about the food as it was still all lovely however the Lotus food always stands out to other Chinese take away… but last night it was just the same standard as any other Chinese and it was disappointing. I hope this was just a one off and they haven’t changed chef or food chain supply 🙏 Please go back to how you was Lotus!

Ordered chips and a pot of gravy for my daughter. The gravy was the most disgusting thing I'd ever seen. It had separated and had a thick layer of oil on the top of it. Would not recommend this place if they can't even get the gravy right.

Best chinese around only dishes I would advise not to get it the salt and pepper dishes. The foo young is the best I've tasted as is the special in blackbean sauce and the crispy chilli beef. Don't know what one of the reviewers on here is saying they use frozen chips as they do not use frozen chips.

Been going to the Lotus for decades to get the absolute best Chinese food, and that includes from all neighbouring towns & many other parts of the country. They're not the cheapest but if you expect quality grub it's worth a little extra, having said that you'll pay similar prices at many others for smaller portions and lower quality. Excellent, friendly service and orders for collection are always on time. Only 2 slight criticisms, they don't deliver, and they used to do the best proper chips but changed to frozen a year or so back, so sadly no more chips with my orders because regardless to which they are or where from I've always found they have a rank after taste. Otherwise I couldn't recommend the Lotus highly enough.

Not keen on the food at all. Also the way they do so much rice in one go. Rice shouldn't really be reheated. Quite impolite also. The portion size was tiny. Won't be visiting again thanx.

As earlier said, don't use as a chippy. Just ordered pudding,chips and gravy and it was the smallest portion that I've ever had and to top it off it cost nearly £4 lol

Food is ok but dont use it as a chip shop. Small portions and higher price. So much better choices locally and for a lot cheaper!
