Hotel to never go to. They are not responsible, unserious people. I made a reservation through booking, months ago, and now they tell me that it is unilaterally canceled due to "maintenance". Booked a room 10 months in advance;however, 10 DAYS before my booking was cancelled due to "unforeseen maintenance". Hope they go bankrupt.

Sorry, my room was never like the pictures. Unfortunately, the rooms are very old and unusable. The bathroom was not clean enough. The hotel is quite old. I did not know it was a 2-star hotel. I made a reservation by looking at the pictures. I think I added it to my list of places I will not choose again.

The other party made the reservation without my permission, and then canceled it on the day of check-in. I was able to book another hotel in the end, but I think this kind of behavior reflects poorly on the hotel's reputation. I definitely don't want to recommend this hotel.

Awful place. Worst I’ve ever stayed in. Think this place is being used as a doss house for long term residents with addiction issues and the few unoccupied rooms being given to unsuspecting visitors to Liverpool who see misleading photos on website. Our room was filthy with no hot water or heating and the hotel had a very macabre sinister and disturbing feel. My recommendation is to avoid at all cost and do not be fooled by the photos!

Really nice staff and hotel was in a good location. But … the whole hotel was REALLY run down. Looked a lot more worn out compared to the photos online- they were clearly taken a long time ago. Our first room the door didn’t lock, there was stains on the walls and the bathroom was covered in black mould. Luckily we got moved which was better - but was still not fully cleaned, run down, and stank of smoke. The whole floor kept smelling of smoke so someone was clearly smoking in their room. And people were really loud at night - shouting and banging on doors.

Flee, poor fools. Be careful with the images on Booking or the internet in general, they are false! A ruined facade with cracks and broken windows, we wondered if it was an urbex or really our hotel and there is indeed a hotel in it. Dirty room except the bed but super uncomfortable spring mattress. Traces of mold on the ceiling, cracks everywhere, dust everywhere. Door noises all night, cardboard walls and neighbors screaming until 4 a.m. (well the hotel can't do anything about it) No breakfast, no wifi, only two sockets, no cleaning from one day to the next... The staff is friendly and it's not their fault, I don't dare imagine in what conditions they have to work, credit to them, this opinion is not against them but to warn you that you have to be wary of the photos... I have rarely slept so badly in a hotel. On the other hand, it's not expensive and very close to the center, so if you don't mind a little adventure and a bad mattress, go for it...

This was the scariest, most horrible hotel I have ever experienced. The photos online are a complete lie, the outside of the hotel looks like a dump. We arrived and there was ambulance and police cars all around the hotel with staff looking very strange/suspicious. We proceeded to ask what had happened as we were to stay there and we already felt very uneasy but staff showed no care and said their ‘pipes had burst’- which was in fact not true as ambulance described it as a ‘major incident’. We then heard a young man reiterate to police that a person had died in the hotel- again staff would give us no information. They then proceeded to say that the room that me and my boyfriend were booked in to was not available anymore due to the ‘pipes’. they had to to book us in to another hotel but the other hotel knows we are going there so we just say our names and they will sort our room. However we walked down to the other hotel and they said to us that the Lord Nelson staff never rang them and did not book us a room so at this point we were left with no room at all. 8 hours later, after deciding to try to enjoy our day away from the hotel, we returned and still there were ambulance and police cars and staff continued to cover up what was happening. They finally agreed to sort us a room after we had nowhere to go. The room we were given had no heating (it was 1 degrees outside), a shower covered in dirt, stains which looked like pee on the walls, no soap and it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned in a long time. The whole hotel was extremely eerie and we were very uneasy, which led to us getting very little sleep. Overall, this was the worst experience and I could not wait to leave this horrible place. No one should have to pay a penny to stay here, awful!!! If I could do minus stars I would, disgraceful.

Beware. This hotel is currently being used as a YMCA over spill. If you're visiting the city, don't even consider staying here. Most of your fellow guests won't be paying for their rooms and you probably won't get a good nights sleep. The building requires a complete refurb and, aside from the location, there are no positives. You've been warned.

The sheets were clean, the toilet flushed, and the staff were friendly.

This hotel left me on the street hours before I had to check in. I had to take out last minute and this made me spend €258 more. They have to make it up to me! They don't respond to messages either. They are a shame!!!

In the city center, next to the train station, you can get to the bus station in five minutes. You can reach all the city's attractions within five minutes to half an hour's walk, and eating places are convenient. There are Muslim restaurants on the street to the right of the hotel entrance. There are various restaurants in the train station on the left or two blocks away. There are restaurants and bars at Gejiekou (food can be provided)

This was a good hotel at a very reasonable price. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean and breakfast is included (continental). It's very close to Lime St Station and the city. I have no complaints. Some may criticise because it's a little dated but for what you're paying for this is a great hotel.

Great location right next to the station, theatres, academy. Friendly service. Rooms basic and need decorating but can't complain for the price.

Rooms are clean, but very run down, you get what you pay for, windows don't close or lock, no hot water to shower, heater in room doesn't work, electric heater in bathroom does, I had to leave it on for a while with door open to heat room up. Turned it off in case of a fire hazard, I booked last minute to be close to my son's digs. Deffo will not stay again, Z hotel do rooms for same price (luxury compared to this) however I was too late to book in.

Great value despite a few problems (wifi wasn't always working, no hand soap in the room), but the staff is very friendly, the rooms are big and clean. The location is also great (just a few blocks from the Liverpool Lime Street station.

Excellent bed. All night reception n good price

The lobby is still quite attractive, then a complicated path to the room, small and noisy and with a wonderful view of the inner courtyard. Rinsing was possible, but defective. Room was clean so far. I found the price for the room to be rather high.

For the price you can't go wrong. Friendly staff, very large hotel with many many rooms. Clean and the bedrooms are well kept. Local parking right next door and over the road. I paid £20 for 24 stay. Right next to the train station I would say about a 6-10 min walk. Would stay again.

Three words terrible terrible terrible, would never return

Have stayed here before. The place looks a little tired could do with an update, saying that, rooms clean and staff are lovely..

Not to mention the location is right in front of the station, and the staff are very friendly. I took room 117, and I entered the wifi password correctly, but the connection failed, so when I told them, they said the router would occasionally show an error, so they turned it off and on, and it connected right away. I accidentally left my card key in the room, but they took it out with the master key right away. When I first went in, the interior was really clean. Breakfast seemed to be available some days and some days it wasn't. However, the building itself was old, so warm water came out well from the sink, but warm water didn't come out from the shower hose. I have short hair, so it was okay, but it was okay for women to use. It may be inconvenient at times. The contents so far are based on room 117. Other rooms may be different. Overall satisfied.

On arrival i was greeted by James, a happy, funny friendly scouser who was full of banter. My room 123 was fine, only fault heater did'nt work friendly staff again provided me straight away with a portable heater, my room was lovely and warm when I returned from the theatre. Excellent location for everything, theatres, lime street station and Wetherspoons all on your door step. Only fault, water took a while to heat in the shower, and constant noise till 2am, for 2 hours from other people. NOT HOTELS FAULT! Friendliest helpful staff ive met in a hotel.! Well done guys.!

Disabled people BE WARNED! This hotel does NOT have disabled access, and their booking websites do not state this. I was looking for a hotel in the area, so when I called to inquire about their "disabled facilities" that Agoda advertised, they said all rooms are upstairs, no lift is available and they have ONE "Accessible" room which can't even be used by disabled guests because there is no Lift. When asked "How do you accommodate disabled guests then?" The Staff on the phone said "We just don't." Absolutely no offer of alternatives or accommodations and a frankly disgustingly lax, uncaring attitude from the guy on the phone. DO NOT BOOK HERE if you have a disability.

Rude, impatient staff which is also glaringly evident in the weird responses to some reviews on here. Shower was dirty. Avoid.

A pub I've been drinking in for many a year,The Lord Warden Pub was your typical city centre pub,a traditional interior, great staff and a wonderful selection of beverages but passing it the other day I was dismayed to see this once classic British pub being renovated up,the exterior painted graffiti style and renamed Sketch Bar & Kitchen, never ventured inside but I suppose I will out of curiosity in the future, its just sad to see a much loved pub change so dramatically, I will miss The Lord Warden Pub but who knows this new incarnation may be as good ,hopefully it will.

Mis amigos y yo visitamos a principios de este año para tomar un par de copas. Primero pensé dónde es. Un espacio acogedor con un personal muy amable, con muchas opciones de bebidas y completamente abastecido. El pub en sí acababa de tener una renovación, así que estaba realmente fresco y limpio. ¡Definitivamente regresaré cuando esté en la ciudad!

Called in for a quick drink, ended up having three! With a free juke box and lovely staff , Friendly locals. A proper traditional pub, a pleasure to visit, looking forward to next time.

The drinks are good, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the jukebox is free. What more could you ask for? Great pub!

Vino a tomar un trago rápido antes de un concierto, la camarera Katie fue brillante, alegre y encantadora con nosotros. Ella se tomó su tiempo para asegurarse de que estuviéramos felices con nuestras bebidas y se tomó su tiempo para encontrar la contraseña wifi. 10/10 a Katie!
