The Lord Nelson in Doncaster

Came in today and music was depressing and ancient very poor service for this time of year!!!!

Such a lovely place and perfect for discos and parties and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming and very polite

Early morning so must withhold judgement

Short on bar staff also the prices seem to have gone up used to be really cheap only just noticed price increase big sighnes alover saying no change available card payments preferred whats happening with pubs in donny all seem to be struggling with staff shortage

Overcharged, £8.50 for a vodka and coke n half of fosters. No Guinness available, stroporanum, coors and Stella no longer even an option. Lost my custom right there!!!!! We previously would spend up to 50 quid amongst us prior to this. Using customers to raise prices for the renovation.

I went in the nelson tonight 9.30ish. The first time In my 71 years. Got to the bar and my mate came in to say, they weren't coming in. The doorman wanted my 76 year old friend to take his cap off, to I'd him. He refused. Realy!, a 76 year old looking for bother, I don't think so. If the policy doesn't change I hope your pub dies.

In the past I worked there 12 years don't do meals anymore the heart as been ripped out of it, just cheap drinks no atmosphere 😭

Amazing place, karaoke is a great laugh! The drinks are well priced too. The loos can be better maintained, but apart from that, it's good 👍

Great if you want a cheap drink. I got a pint and a bottle of cider and I think I got change from a fiver. Venue is not amazing though but it is what it is

Bit rough around the edges, generic drink selection but very reasonably priced

I deliberately went because it was a craft union pub. The pricing structure was typically very cheap and may John Smith's was excellent. The TV's were showing horse racing and other sports. What I found amazing was that there were only four other people in the pub when I entered, not what I'm used to in those I frequent in Hull. I later found out that there was an alternative craft union pub only a few yards further down the road, maybe that's better use. I'll have to try it on my next visit

It's okay, staff polite and friendly, but it's not really a place I could get comfertable in. The music choose was pretty good the karaoke seems fun. But this seems like a place for tight knit bunch of people that go regularly and I was definitely an outsider. If wasn't obvious enough it had been mentioned that I don't look like the regular kinda crowd. Too many eyes watching for me, it's fairly intimidating. I felt more constable outside where people could talk to me which made it feel more inviting. Has some good offers on the alcohol depending on what you like.

Staff pretty friendly but only 2 stars as there is a terrible toilet smell throughout the whole pub. Did not stay long as it was overpowering.

Came here a couple of weeks ago while up Doncaster for a course for the week. Was a really fun night out singing along to Karaoke classics. Can't wait to come back in the summer when the second part of my course starts.

First I must correct the location of The Lord Nelson, the pub address has it been located in Hatfield, Doncaster. which is a village on the outskirts of Doncaster. The Lord Nelson pub is located in the town of Doncaster its self, the address being 54 Printing Office Street, Doncaster, & which the pub is located in the centre of the town of Doncaster. I visited the pub with old workmates on our annual reunion, on Saturday 30 November 2019, the pub was full of customers having a good time, there was music on, with the pub having a good atmosphere.
