The Lakeside Beefeater in Doncaster

Got got back from a fabulous meal at the lakeside beefeater, food was excellent, 5 empty plates and the service from Natalie was amazing, she went above and beyond! Thankyou for a great experience

The food was good. However, the staff was rude at the bar and at the tables, which was really disappointing.

Absolutely cracking steak! I visited this restaurant and was blown away. The atmosphere was spot on – a lovely, warm and inviting place, perfect for a special occasion or just a good meal out. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were equally delicious. The chips were proper, chunky ones, and the peppercorn sauce was spot on. They also had a decent wine list to complement the meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The service was efficient, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. It's not the cheapest place, but you definitely get what you pay for. If you're looking for a top-notch steak, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Five stars!

We visited today for my daughters birthday. Alan B looked after us and he was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, they were all delicious 😋 Would definitely recommend anyone to pay a visit.

Went for lunch at Beefeater Doncaster today. My Husband ordered the Beefeater Double Stack & I had the Beef Lasagne from the Main Menu which is the full price menu not the Lunch Time menu. I have previously had the Beef Lasagne from the Lunch Time menu at £7.99 which comes with salad but no Garlic Flatbread. When my meal arrived today it was exactly the same size as the Lasagne on the Lunch Time Menu but today I paid £13.99 for the privilege and the Garlic Flatbread which I assumed would be pizza sized as I'd paid an extra £6 for this Main Meal, was the size of a small slice of pizza. My Husbands Burgers were small, the Chips tasteless and the Slaw tasted like a smartprice Supermarket Brand. At no point did anyone come and ask if everything was OK with our meal, so overall a very disappointing experience for us and we will not be returning in future.

I ordered fillet steak and Diane sauce. Very nice .not too busy.

One of the worst experiences at a beefeater I have ever had. Staying away for work and come down to eat with colleagues. Service at the bar was awful, 25 minute wait only to have a member of our party refused service due to not having ID after this being the 3rd night of staying at the adjoining hotel. Not an adequate amount of staff based on the amount of people in the restaurant. No rating for food as we left after the experience at the bar.

Had an all-inclusive breakfast buffet. Was amazing food fresh cooked and plenty. Help yourself, unlike some of the beefeaters. The only thing's wrong is that the food area is very compact and gets a tad busy, so queues tend to form at busy times. The kids eat free, so quite a few lose cannons charging around, they should have a section for kids and one for adults only, one of them is going to get burnt one day with hot liquid or food. So wrong. They should also include cold cuts and cheese, boiled eggs for the continental buffet, and modernise the toasters, they are so slow, no chance of having hot toast, ever. The cups need deep cleaning and they should provide proper mugs not the silly small point shaped ones, it just means people go to the machine more, causing more congestion. The staff are very nice but rushed off their feet. Need more staff, one or two to restock the food area and others to clean away used tables. Would be so much more efficient. Cut backs, I guess, and they try so hard to keep up. But over all the food is good.

Came in before the doncaster vs Swindon game for a drink the place was packed. The staff did a great job at seeing to everyone quickly and the manager was supper helpful. Great place

Food was average pub grub, fairly priced, tasty and filled us for lunch! Service from Natalie W was brilliant, couldn't do enough for us, very polite, friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

My wife has allergies, so the staff made sure that nothing would make her ill. All the staff are very friendly. Definitely come back here. (115 miles from home approximately) We would definitely recommend this place. They should be proud of their staff and the customer service. Excellent.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next to the restaurant. Excellent service in the evening and the following morning from Alan, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly too, top marks Alan.

The food was beautiful this evening. I’d recommend the salmon. Great value and a very tasty dish. Service was prompt and staff are friendly.

We arrived at this restaurant and was taken to a row of 2 per tables by lady with a bun on her head with glasses. I think she was the manager. I asked her if she had any better tables available as we weren't happy with it. She abruptly answered with. "no all the tables are fully booked", then walked off. A table became available at the end of this row of tables for two. We thought this may be slightly as we only have one couple next to us rather than one each side. So I asked a member of staff if we could move to it. He said he'd ask then cleared the table and went. It had been 10 minutes and nobody got back to us, so we moved to it. Then I could see the lady shaking her head at us. Then she came over to another member of staff that was near us and said 3 times to him, I'm going to have to find another table for 3 people now. Not thinking anything of it at first, but soon realised she was aiming these comments at us. 10 minutes later, she came over and told us we had to move because the table was booked out by 3 people. A table for two? So I said, can't they go where we were just sitting knowing the table wasn't actually specifcally booked for anyone really. She said no and repeatedly said the table was booked and just had an obvious attitude with me about it. I asked her if she wanted us to leave? She abruptly said no, but we need to move tables. It was obvious the table wasn't actually booked and it just how they arranged people to be seated. It was clear, that she just couldn't be bothered to change this arrangement. After her attitude demanding that we move, we left the restaurant. This is bad customer service. This was a special evening for us as it was our anniversary. We had a booking for a later date at this restaurant for a large number of people. We have now booked elsewhere.

Total disappointment. I have eaten all of my meal and no check back!! Arrival fine, young lady behind the bar was polite and friendly. Then downhill! I had smothered chicken melt, was dry, very little bbq sauce. I asked for more but would be charged for it! Wife had lasagne and the dish was not even 1cm thick. Massive bowl with bit of lasagne in it. We have pictures! Food not really warm, well as warm as the salad. Written this and still no check back! I honestly don’t know what to say to be honest nearly £40.00 and wish i’d bought a pizza!

Unfortunately, my recent experience at this Beefeater was far from satisfactory. The service was extremely slow, and to make matters worse, my Baconater Burger was missing the key ingredient - bacon! When I mentioned it to a staff member, I only received a "sorry" with no offer to rectify the mistake. The lack of both speed and a proper resolution to the missing item made for a very disappointing meal. I hope this feedback is taken seriously as it significantly impacted my dining experience.

We all had steak, which was cooked right but didn't have much taste to it. I opted for salad instead of chips, the dressing was lovely, just wish there were more salad, I also ordered a side of prawns, they were nice but I did expect more than 2 for £4.99. The others ordered ribs, which they said were really good. Would go back but maybe have something else.

Was staying at the hotel next door, I had the delight of breakfast and dinner at the Beefeater. Great breakfast plenty of choice the staff couldn’t do enough to help - great cheery smiles considering I was having breakfast so early! The chefs were brilliant the food was tasty and well presented. Every night I ate I had plenty of choice and would highly recommend the steak sampler so good!

Nice food and very friendly staff. Debs was lovely and helped us out with getting our baby a high chair with a tray so he could feed himself. Will definitely go back the next time we go shopping at lakeside.

My husband and I have eaten at here a few times and always have a great experience. Visited beefeater again today. Service and food was of usual high quality. Natalie served us and was very friendly and attentive as always. I had fish and chips and my wife had the turkey dinner and we both really enjoyed our meals. Would recommend a visit.

What a place highly recommend from arriving you are greeted with the most friendly of staff,a warm welcome and the food is to die for example breakfast always fresh always getting fresh food out all the way through amazing.

No. Very categoric NO! A disgrace, this is what is was, I have ordered a steak which was by far the worse I've ever had. What made the matter worse is that the staff sympathised with our plight but they were saying that they are aware about the low quality but they cannot do much as they will loose their jobs. Disgrace.

Booked in for Xmas day lunch 3 o clock sitting.arrived at 2.50 table not ready people still eating from previous sitting left stood at the bar .starters and pudding were fine main course was not upto standard no condiments on table stuffing and Yorkshire pudding over cooked struggled to cut them no mash just a load of roast potatoes(don't know if they had ran out)didn't get offered our coffee's or mince pies .Don't know if we were the last to be served party of 11 disappointed.

Hmmm, been going to beefeater Christmas lunch for years, this year was the most expensive and not the best, food not to quality or standard of previous years and service not good, previously the atmosphere from serving staff was lovely, this year it was stretched and staff appeared not to wanting to be there. The whole experience wasn’t good and would not recommend where previous years looked forward to the day…. The minced pies served at the end were cheap and tasted nasty… looked lovely but will definitely look for somewhere nicer next year or do the traditional cook at home….. saying that we still left a £15.00 tip

Good Christmas dinner. I'm not big on large portions, but I would have still preferred a little more than one pig in blanket, one small stuffing ball, and one and a half slices of beef. The food was of good quality, though, not the greatest, but certainly not the worst. My wife and kids seemed happy enough but agreed that for the money it was quite basic for a Christmas dinner. Staff are lovely, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed.

We decided to go out for Christmas dinner this year for the 1st time in 17 years, chose the lakeside beefeater, the xmas dinner was excellent and was very well presented, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, will be booking again next year.

Absolutely dire mixed grill. Dry as a bone, took absolutely ages to arrive. Lovely staff, overbooked for the kitchen obviously.

A good meal with colleagues to celebrate Christmas. Food was tasty and the service was fine. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Main and dessert with bottomless fizzy drink for around £18. Great atmosphere because the music wasn't too loud!

Came in today for a Christmas catch up with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely, friendly staff and warm welcome. We both chose the festive turkey dinner and it was brought quickly with extra jugs of gravy. The food was delicious - obviously freshly cooked - and our dinner consisted of moist lean turkey, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, peas, carrots and sprouts. Cranberry sauce was brought on request. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and very jolly. Food was so plentiful I couldn’t finish my dinner. Brought a slice of Black Forest Gateau home with me and that was lovely too. First time I’d been there and, if today is a good indicator of food and service, I’d definitely recommend and go again. Thank you for a great experience.

Garbage service and garbage food, unprofessional waiters

Called in for lunch 9th December whilst shopping at Lakeside. Warm welcome from our server, Josh who looked after us very well. Food was excellent and my son had the steak sampler which was cooked to perfection. I had the haddock and chips and my mum had lasagne from the lunch menu which were delicious . Excellent value for money at £8.99. Will be calling in again.

Went there today with family we wanted a Sunday roast which we have had before and enjoyed. Was told no Sunday dinners it's the festive one do fair enough. When we went to pay we asked to use our blue light card and told not on that menu. We wanted a Sunday lunch. So what about help the heroes with the discount we hadn't took the Sunday lunch off plus it was a Sunday lunch to us not festive.

A great place to stop for breakfast with a wide choice of hot and cold foods. Alan was friendly and helpful, and, despite being very busy, he had time to chat. It was clean and tidy. It's close to the Lakeside Outlet so perfect for some sustenance on the way to a shopping spree.

Had a fantastic experience at Beefeater Lakeside Doncaster this evening 3/12/24. Service was brilliant, food excellent. Our server, Natalie, really looked after us, it made our evening, thank you from us all.

We booked a table for my Dads 90th birthday, his favourite place to eat out as he loves the gammon steak they have on the menu. Leigh served us and the service was exceptional. Having just being diagnosed with Celiac I was a little apprehensive about what I would be able to eat but Leigh was extremely helpful and didn’t make me feel like ‘one of those awkward customers’! He was back and forth to the kitchen and even adapted one meal so that I could eat it. Thank you so much to Leigh for helping me and for my Dads birthday meal being ‘on the house’. I will certainly be going back when I visit again.

5 star service and food. Alan was so attentive and welcoming. We have a 5 year old who is quite fussy and he made everything so easy. Partner had mixed grill and will definitely coming back for the steak.and so will I.

Totally out of the blue visit today, been shopping at lakeside. On entering was made overwhelming welcome by Alan who had been part of management team in Grimsby. He had remember me, it was like meeting an old friend. Food for a party of 3 was amazing, couldn't even fit in a pudding we where so full after eating our mains. Steaks I would highly recommend, I had a mix grill which was cooked to perfection. My partner was jealous. Lol So BIG thank you to Alan and all the staff. Will drop in again next where in the Doncaster area.

Went there for my breakfast the other day, food and service was exceptional, didn't have to wait long for my food and it was cooked just how I like it, the staff were welcoming friendly, I went back a few days later for a steak dinner and again was perfect.

Like to think all my review are constructive so hopefully it helps improve the service, walked in with no booking and received a rather cold welcome or should I say wait there I'll be a minute rather sharply, asked if we had booked and we had not so was told we have to go to the bar side to be honest it wasn't that busy but we headed to the bar side which was drab in need of a lick of paint and also cold which followed a theme we ordered 2 meals and when they arrived both looked nice and well presented but the chips on both meals were warm as if they had been left under the hot lamps I was going to say something when we got our table check but one never arrived which I thought was common practice in these sort of pubs we ended up leaving without looking at the desert menu didn't even get a good bye and a thank you when we left really poor customer service I normally give a place a second chance but don't think I'll be making the effort for here

Just returned from having a Sunday roast Will not be going back!! The food was Luke warm. Didn't know which was roast parsnip or roast potatoes! not much taste to any of it. I would not recommend for Sunday lunch you can get nicer food elsewhere and better value for money!!!

We have been here before and always recommend it to others but not after this time. Hardly any staff not very interactive with us on arrival we paid and found a seat didn't even ask if we had any special requests on food to be made or allergies. Coffee machine wasn't working properly someone else complained and he went to fix it. We had orange juice and tea so it was fine for us. Had cooked breakfast but wasn't good large pieces of bacon tasted ok but lots of smaller and these had a rancid taste with them grilled tomatoes had been put in broiler and skins were falling off and looked bad and mushy black pudding is usually quiet firm but when hubby cut into it was very watery . We were sat near food heaters and when chef was filling up on sausage he just tipped in then picked them up with his bare hands and put them back into the pot which wasn't very good. The taste of sausages were good for a buffet but this was over rode by what I saw. The bread was so hard round the edges you had to search for soft bread. No croissants or pan o chocolate yogurts everything was empty even ran out of milk for cereals. The two members of staff couldn't coupe with it the main manager came down straight away he was filling everything up but we had decided to leave by this time not been well all that day into next think it was bacon as not had anything else to have made us unwell.

We were turned away at breakfast time last week and offered a table an hour later. Needless to say, we went to Toby and were welcomed with open arms. We won't try Beefeater again.

Called in for a meal and a drink, was served by a young man named Josh who was extremely pleasant and his customer service skills were excellent. The manager Becky along with her staff, Kieron and Steph were professional and friendly. I would recommend a visit

This is a very good Beefeater. I'm a regular customer of all the different branches and I must say that this is one of the bests by far. The location is excellent with a very accessible car park with 2h free parking, and nice facilities. Service is very friendly and always pending from the customers. On weekends there is the option for all-you-can-eat breakfast with the kids for free, which is excellent as the price is very good. The only "but" I can imagine, is that sometimes there are running out of some deserts, which I imagine depends on the stock, but it is a shame not being able to eat always the delicious "churros" with an ice cream :) Thanks for being so nice with the customers,
