The Lord Darcy in Leeds

We have been to this pub loads of times over past few years and it has gone down hill massively. The manager is unaware of how problematic her “team leader” is and we have regularly seen her bully other team and speak to the like they are nothing, Often seen leaving the staff visibly upset before changing into a different person when manager appears! Food average pub food, drinks expensive. Fire doors regularly locked and chairs put on them whilst still open (often an hour before closing) is the reason we will nolonger be visiting as it is not worth our lives if there is a fire! How Greene King think this is ok is beyond me.

Staff were so ignorant and rude! Full of attitude teaming up on one person which isn’t fair at all customers were also really rude and staff didn’t help the situation instead made it worse by putting input in where it WASNT needed. First time coming here and definitely not stepping a foot in there again!

Went in last night the place was packed. Really nice atmosphere we waited a little while for food but that was to be expected with how busy it was food arrived and great as always. Staff was working very hard to serve everyone, well done Will be back !

Lento en servir, cuando finalmente trajeron nuestra comida olvidaron hacer comida a mis nietos, luego se la trajeron después de que terminamos nuestra comida, luego para colmo olvidaron poner su helado en el pedido, lo que pedimos muy pobre de hecho. La comida en sí no era tan mala, pero la carne de res y el pastel de cerveza eran muy difíciles de comer, terminando solo comiendo el interior del pastel y dejando el resto.

Lovely , friendly local pub. Great deals and always have different selection of beers to try.

This pub is rough at the edges, but a marvelous place to go. They put on some great events, and offers. A really good local in the traditional sense

Yesterday I visited The Lord Darcy it’s a warm cozy inviting pub.It was busy at the time of our visit but nothing was too much trouble service was great food was tasty , try the fish & Chips they were very good. The selection of locals ales is a treat. All round a great local.

Went for an impromptu Sunday lunch with the family today and it didn’t disappoint we all had the turkey dinner and it was delicious especially the roast potatoes and homemade Yorkshires. Service as usual was quick and efficient. We will be back again very soon

The pub has a very nice interior, great drinks selection and creates a good atmosphere, the staff are friendly and helpful, but it definitely has its drawbacks. The food is extremely mediocre, most recently I had the hunters chicken and the presentation/quality was that of a microwave meal, you could have easily picked the same meal up for £4 from Tesco, you aren't even particularly paying for a service, both times I have attended the pub, they have explained to me there is a self serve side of the restaurant and a table service side of the restaurant, both times I've sat on the table service side, both times I have had to wait 20-30 mins to have my order taken and both times the waiters/waitresses have approached me seemingly confused and ask if I would like to order food, I'd completely understand if they were busy, but they are usually speaking to one another, so they can't be that busy. The place does create a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly, the drinks selection is great and I would go again, but I would never expect anything particularly special, and I wouldn't say you are getting your moneys worth.

I thought I'd treat myself for my lunch chose fish and chips. There was a choice of peas with the meal, the fish was delicious lovely crispy batter. I'd also taken my dog as the pub is dog friendly, she enjoyed the fish too even though she's a fussy eater.

3/4 staff just walking around collecting glasses when you got customers waiting at the bar to be service ...then didn't have a clue who was next ..waited good 10 minutes to be served on a quite night ....good job it wasn't busy

I had a lovely, wholesome meal at the Lord Darcy, the roast lamb was amazing! Amanda, Craig and all staff were really friendly and helpful as they always are! I would recommend The Lord Darcy to anyone looking for a well run, family pub!

Stop off on way back from emmerdal tour. Called in place was extremely busy but still managed to sit us down. Very fast service given how busy they were. Waitress fantastic and really friendly. Food really well priced. Can't fault the place. I'd definitely go back next time in the area. Given how busy it was and football was on I could not recommend this place enough for a quick bite to eat. Great place.

Greeted with a smile and a hello, the staff were attentive and busy beavering throughout the evening. I am always impressed with their work ethic.

Friendly welcome on entry, shown to our table without delay. Tables weren’t in close proximity so you felt comfortable. Didn’t even need to go to the bar to order drinks, efficient staff promptly came and placed our order. (This service continued throughout the duration of the meal.) Food was hot and delicious also a generous portion. Plates were taken away but not before we were asked if we were finished and ready for our next course. I can honestly say this was the most organised welcoming Christmas dinner we have enjoyed as a family in a long time, nothing was too much trouble and it was service with a smile. We were extremely happy to leave a generous tip to express our gratitude. Can not praise the staff enough. Will definitely book next year.

Excellent staff, food & service, went above & beyond, and nothing was a hassle, they changed a starter for one of guests at last minute , and everything went smoothly on such a busy day

We had booked the table for Christnas Eve and the pub was expectedly busy when we arrived, but we were greeted by a lovely lady (blonde hair, small, she has worked here a long time) who took us to our table. A big group of people arrived just before us and I thought they were quite rude to her and she just smiled. The atmosphere of the pub was lovely, relaxed with a Christmas buzz. It didnt take us too long to get served and we had a lovely couple of hours here.

Best atmosphere and service out of all the pubs I’ve been to in Leeds - they’re the only ones that not only get the food out quick & hot - but they treat everybody like royalty in there - I’m surprised the big guns at the top of Greene King aren’t singing their praises more - I’ll be back!

Had such a lovely meal here with my partner, service was top notch and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

Just want to say my grandchildren love coming over to Leeds to try the burgers at the lord Darcy they are from down south Solomon my grandson is 14 and he is said lord da burgers are the best and I must agree with him and the price is fantastic the staff cannot do enough to make sure the customers are happy and relaxed it is a lovely place to take your family and it's also a lovely place to meet with the girls for lunch 👍

I asked for no rocket, onion and mustard on my food and all it came on it when handed to me. I was unable to eat the meal due to my allergies. When i brought it up with the waitress she responded, “oh really” as if me and my family were lying. She didn't care about it and still charged us for the meal no one could eat

金曜日の夜に家族とディナーをしに訪問しました。さすがに混んでいましたがウェイターの人がすごく親切でした。子どもには画用紙とクレヨンを持ってきてくれました。ありがたい限りです 子どもがいるのでお酒は一杯しか飲んでいませんが、ハンバーガー、リゾット、ピザなど炭水化物多めの食事を楽しみました笑　小学生や幼児を連れた家族連れも結構いたのでその点安心しました。 駐車場にEVチャージャーもあったのでありがたかったです。

The Lord Darcy is hands down our favorite pub, and we come here all the time! The atmosphere is always fantastic, and the service is consistently top-notch. Craig and Amanda are absolute stars – they always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure we have a great time. Whether it’s for a casual drink or a meal, everything is always spot on. It’s like our second home – we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I visited the Darcy on Friday 1st Nov, where I had a lovely, wholesome meal after Evie’s amazing recommendation! Evie, Craig and all staff were really friendly and helpful! I would recommend The Lord Darcy to anyone looking for a chilled, good vibe pub!

Just had the beer and burger deal, ridiculously good value, a huge burger and a pint of peroni, t’other half had a kids hunters chicken for £4.99, full chicken breast again great value. Two meals and a pint for £16.99, not many places you find that these days. Thank you, we will be back.

Very varied menu for a chain pub (can't remember the chain unfortunately) and a decent selection of which can be done gluten free although only for intolerants as the kitchen isn't entirely gluten-free but I managed. Big pub so plenty of tables in a nice area of Leeds and popular at lunch times, when we went, probably due to the rather well-priced senior citizens and 2-for-1 menus; would definitely and probably will return.

My friends and I went for a lunch and tribute act x the staff the food the atmosphere was fantastic 😊 I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting this area 👍 we are so lucky to have this Pub on our doorstep ✅👍

Friends invited us down for afternoon drinks and chat. I have had the odd pint there, but this was a leisurely afternoon chat session. The place was busy, the staff were busy, but all smiling. Lots of families and groups enjoying food that looked quite tempting ! This is one of the better GK establishments - we live near the Squinting Cat which is struggling tbh. Tripadvisor gets the odd nay sayer - my posts are either to say well done, like this, or to submit positive suggestions. I would definitely come back for lunch or dinner - as the title says - A Proper Local 👍👍

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody anymore. Have had one too many issues here including today where my friend and I ordered and both had issues with our order, her side order didn’t come and when she asked for it and it arrived it came overcooked (chips). I also had an issue with my order where I ordered a plain double cheese burger and only received one beef patty when I paid extra for another patty and then when it came back with the extra patty after returning it came with sauce despite asking for no sauce/salad. Very disappointing as we come very often but recently have had one too many issues and unfortunately will not be returning. Would not recommend.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but efficiency can be improved. There was nice atmosphere, and the food was enjoyable. It is good value for money when you look out for the deals on the menu.

Lovely staff my grandaughter told one of the staff about my grandsons birthday and he brought out a slice of cake with candles on for him to blow out, whilst singing happy birthday to him.

With living local we visit here at least once a week and always enjoy it. Compliments to the Kitchen staff as food has always been very good. Chris and Amanda are always lovely and helpful. Had a lovely lunch here today. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating big shout out to young lad called Craig very helpful! We were a party of 7 with a baby, a 1 year old and a 5 year old and 6 year old and we had plenty of room! The food was good…and i would deffo come here again. The bar staff were impressive with how helpful to people they were thank you Craig and team!!!

Ordered King Prawns with Chorizo. Sadly only 3 King Prawns were on the plate. Though there were 8 pieces of Chorizo. So the meal should have been Chorizo with King Prawn. I asked for more King Prawns but told I would need to pay £5 for 4 more King Prawns. I declined the diabolical offer. On reflection I should have sent the meal back.

The place was packed and there were only two people waiting on tables. This was a joke considering the size of the place and a very very large amount of tables. The waiting staff were rushed off their feet, especially Erin who was amazing and would be one hell of a find for any prospective employer. We were happy with the wait time for the food, but the length of time it took to bring a coffee was outrageous and so was the coffee when it finally arrived. One waiter said he was an expert at making coffee but said the coffee we got was “disgusting “. It all very well having a nice bar and restaurant and nice food but they really should employ more staff to cover busy periods. They also need to be more flexible with customers. The mini dessert comes with a hot drink which I did not want so I asked for some cream with my dessert but was told I couldn’t have that.

Had the most lovely and high quality tasting meal here today. Massive compliments to the chefs, there was nothing we could fault. I got the sirloin and my mum got the mixed grill, with mushroom toppers and their merlot dripping and mushroom sauce. The steaks were cooked to perfection, alongside everything else. A big thank you to Matthew too, great service and made our visit very welcoming.

Always like to visit with the family. Always made to feel welcome and the food is great compared to similar priced places. Kids meal deals are fantastic and plenty to choose from on Adult menu Inc 2 for£12. Which in current climate is great to treat the family without breaking the bank especially with kids. We've been as a family along with inviting ppl with us and can honestly say we've never had a bad experience. A shout out must go out to all the staff who work hard and always make all customers feel welcome. A special shout out must go to Vicky who always makes sure kids are welcomed and enjoying their meals. Works extremely hard

Had such a great time at the Lord Darcy and not just because England won! The staff were fabulous at accomodating so many people and the atmosphere was great. Always a favourite place to go and can't wait for the next visit and match!

We were here with a big group of friends Saturday 6th July 2024 for the football. What an amazing day/night it was. The atmosphere was brilliant, to say how busy it was the service was fantastic Craig handled the situation and customers to a tee. Can’t wait till Wednesday 10th . ⚽️

Very well laid out and clean and tidy. Good food if slightly overpriced in my opinion for what was essentially a sandwich.

Best place to watch a football game. Food is ok BUT the atmosphere..the atmosphere is epic.

We are travelling from Sunderland to a family member and we decided to have a little stop at the pub for some refreshments and desserts we were greeted by friendly staff and served by Natasha at the bar who was extremely helpful and had great customer service. Pub had a great atmosphere with what seemed like happy customers and staff. Would definitely back when we are next in Leeds.

Mash potatoes hard and stodgy like they were yesterdays left overs, tenderstem broccoli was just normal broccoli. Not happy at all 👎

Visited Lord Darcy few weeks ago for a whole family dining with my in law Dad n Mum on their wedding anniversary and it was a very good experience. Team reserved a nice spot for us and we were served by staff Simi who was very pleasant, polite and looked after us very well all throughout. We would certainly return for more family meals together.

This is a local pub for my family and they have eaten here before and always enjoyed the food. It was the first time I've visited as I'm gluten free it can be difficult to eat out sometimes. It was nice to see a gluten free menu with lots of choice I chose the lamb shank but when it came there was a yorkshire pudding on top I was confused as yorkshire pudding was not listed on the menu I checked and so glad I did as was told it was on my plate by mistake! This shows that there's obvious un awareness of gluten free requirements I know there is cross contamination and it is rare a kitchen can quarentee this I was so shocked i felt a bit lost for words i did speak to the waitress and i am aware i should of spoke to the manager but i was with family and did want to spoil our time I can tolerate a small amount of cross contamination but if I'd of eaten the yorkshire pudding I would of been really poorly please be aware if you are gluten free/celiac that this is not the place for you and to the Lord darcy please don't make this mistake again as this could of been serious 😢 I have wrote this review so other gliten free customers are aware and can then make a choice all other meal on our table were good that's why given 3 stars

We visit the Lord darcy at least once a month. We love coming here because it has a cosy atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and the food is well cooked and satisfying. I love the beef and ale pie and my kids eat very well here with the great kids menu deal. Great selection of drinks and ample parking

Popped in for some food on the way home after going to the Emmerdale tour, lovely place. Food was delicious, and our server was really helpful bringing colouring crayons over for our little lad, highly recommend.

A nice welcome to this busy pub. A good varied menu and lots of choice for the kids. Good selection of beers. Chicken and ham pie very tasty and a large meal with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Tasty varied burgers and an excellent chicken snitzel. Mini deserts excellent and also a large apple crumble. All reasonably priced with good pleasant service.
