The Lord Darcy in Leeds

The Lord Darcy is hands down our favorite pub, and we come here all the time! The atmosphere is always fantastic, and the service is consistently top-notch. Craig and Amanda are absolute stars – they always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure we have a great time. Whether it’s for a casual drink or a meal, everything is always spot on. It’s like our second home – we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I visited the Darcy on Friday 1st Nov, where I had a lovely, wholesome meal after Evie’s amazing recommendation! Evie, Craig and all staff were really friendly and helpful! I would recommend The Lord Darcy to anyone looking for a chilled, good vibe pub!

Just had the beer and burger deal, ridiculously good value, a huge burger and a pint of peroni, t’other half had a kids hunters chicken for £4.99, full chicken breast again great value. Two meals and a pint for £16.99, not many places you find that these days. Thank you, we will be back.

Very varied menu for a chain pub (can't remember the chain unfortunately) and a decent selection of which can be done gluten free although only for intolerants as the kitchen isn't entirely gluten-free but I managed. Big pub so plenty of tables in a nice area of Leeds and popular at lunch times, when we went, probably due to the rather well-priced senior citizens and 2-for-1 menus; would definitely and probably will return.

My friends and I went for a lunch and tribute act x the staff the food the atmosphere was fantastic 😊 I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting this area 👍 we are so lucky to have this Pub on our doorstep ✅👍

Friends invited us down for afternoon drinks and chat. I have had the odd pint there, but this was a leisurely afternoon chat session. The place was busy, the staff were busy, but all smiling. Lots of families and groups enjoying food that looked quite tempting ! This is one of the better GK establishments - we live near the Squinting Cat which is struggling tbh. Tripadvisor gets the odd nay sayer - my posts are either to say well done, like this, or to submit positive suggestions. I would definitely come back for lunch or dinner - as the title says - A Proper Local 👍👍

Neil diamond tribute today what a great atmosphere & fish & chips were the best I’ve had in a long time absolutely great afternoon

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody anymore. Have had one too many issues here including today where my friend and I ordered and both had issues with our order, her side order didn’t come and when she asked for it and it arrived it came overcooked (chips). I also had an issue with my order where I ordered a plain double cheese burger and only received one beef patty when I paid extra for another patty and then when it came back with the extra patty after returning it came with sauce despite asking for no sauce/salad. Very disappointing as we come very often but recently have had one too many issues and unfortunately will not be returning. Would not recommend.

First time visit and nice friendly staff, food was nice and good range of drinks.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but efficiency can be improved. There was nice atmosphere, and the food was enjoyable. It is good value for money when you look out for the deals on the menu.

Lovely staff my grandaughter told one of the staff about my grandsons birthday and he brought out a slice of cake with candles on for him to blow out, whilst singing happy birthday to him.

Had a lovely lunch here today. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating big shout out to young lad called Craig very helpful! We were a party of 7 with a baby, a 1 year old and a 5 year old and 6 year old and we had plenty of room! The food was good…and i would deffo come here again. The bar staff were impressive with how helpful to people they were thank you Craig and team!!!

With living local we visit here at least once a week and always enjoy it. Compliments to the Kitchen staff as food has always been very good. Chris and Amanda are always lovely and helpful. All the staff have been great especially Craig and Vicky who go above and beyond.Keep up the good work. Sally and Tim 😊

Ordered King Prawns with Chorizo. Sadly only 3 King Prawns were on the plate. Though there were 8 pieces of Chorizo. So the meal should have been Chorizo with King Prawn. I asked for more King Prawns but told I would need to pay £5 for 4 more King Prawns. I declined the diabolical offer. On reflection I should have sent the meal back.

The place was packed and there were only two people waiting on tables. This was a joke considering the size of the place and a very very large amount of tables. The waiting staff were rushed off their feet, especially Erin who was amazing and would be one hell of a find for any prospective employer. We were happy with the wait time for the food, but the length of time it took to bring a coffee was outrageous and so was the coffee when it finally arrived. One waiter said he was an expert at making coffee but said the coffee we got was “disgusting “. It all very well having a nice bar and restaurant and nice food but they really should employ more staff to cover busy periods. They also need to be more flexible with customers. The mini dessert comes with a hot drink which I did not want so I asked for some cream with my dessert but was told I couldn’t have that.

Had the most lovely and high quality tasting meal here today. Massive compliments to the chefs, there was nothing we could fault. I got the sirloin and my mum got the mixed grill, with mushroom toppers and their merlot dripping and mushroom sauce. The steaks were cooked to perfection, alongside everything else. A big thank you to Matthew too, great service and made our visit very welcoming.

Always like to visit with the family. Always made to feel welcome and the food is great compared to similar priced places. Kids meal deals are fantastic and plenty to choose from on Adult menu Inc 2 for£12. Which in current climate is great to treat the family without breaking the bank especially with kids. We've been as a family along with inviting ppl with us and can honestly say we've never had a bad experience. A shout out must go out to all the staff who work hard and always make all customers feel welcome. A special shout out must go to Vicky who always makes sure kids are welcomed and enjoying their meals. Works extremely hard

Had such a great time at the Lord Darcy and not just because England won! The staff were fabulous at accomodating so many people and the atmosphere was great. Always a favourite place to go and can't wait for the next visit and match!

We were here with a big group of friends Saturday 6th July 2024 for the football. What an amazing day/night it was. The atmosphere was brilliant, to say how busy it was the service was fantastic Craig handled the situation and customers to a tee. Can’t wait till Wednesday 10th . ⚽️

Very well laid out and clean and tidy. Good food if slightly overpriced in my opinion for what was essentially a sandwich.

Best place to watch a football game. Food is ok BUT the atmosphere..the atmosphere is epic.

A small group of us visited this pub for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and the service very good. Would definitely recommend it.

We are travelling from Sunderland to a family member and we decided to have a little stop at the pub for some refreshments and desserts we were greeted by friendly staff and served by Natasha at the bar who was extremely helpful and had great customer service. Pub had a great atmosphere with what seemed like happy customers and staff. Would definitely back when we are next in Leeds.

Mash potatoes hard and stodgy like they were yesterdays left overs, tenderstem broccoli was just normal broccoli. Not happy at all 👎

Visited Lord Darcy few weeks ago for a whole family dining with my in law Dad n Mum on their wedding anniversary and it was a very good experience. Team reserved a nice spot for us and we were served by staff Simi who was very pleasant, polite and looked after us very well all throughout. We would certainly return for more family meals together.

This is a local pub for my family and they have eaten here before and always enjoyed the food. It was the first time I've visited as I'm gluten free it can be difficult to eat out sometimes. It was nice to see a gluten free menu with lots of choice I chose the lamb shank but when it came there was a yorkshire pudding on top I was confused as yorkshire pudding was not listed on the menu I checked and so glad I did as was told it was on my plate by mistake! This shows that there's obvious un awareness of gluten free requirements I know there is cross contamination and it is rare a kitchen can quarentee this I was so shocked i felt a bit lost for words i did speak to the waitress and i am aware i should of spoke to the manager but i was with family and did want to spoil our time I can tolerate a small amount of cross contamination but if I'd of eaten the yorkshire pudding I would of been really poorly please be aware if you are gluten free/celiac that this is not the place for you and to the Lord darcy please don't make this mistake again as this could of been serious 😢 I have wrote this review so other gliten free customers are aware and can then make a choice all other meal on our table were good that's why given 3 stars

We visit the Lord darcy at least once a month. We love coming here because it has a cosy atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and the food is well cooked and satisfying. I love the beef and ale pie and my kids eat very well here with the great kids menu deal. Great selection of drinks and ample parking

Popped in for some food on the way home after going to the Emmerdale tour, lovely place. Food was delicious, and our server was really helpful bringing colouring crayons over for our little lad, highly recommend.

Disappointed with today's meal. My pie crust was over cooked, veg raw, and my partners fish was very dry.

A nice welcome to this busy pub. A good varied menu and lots of choice for the kids. Good selection of beers. Chicken and ham pie very tasty and a large meal with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Tasty varied burgers and an excellent chicken snitzel. Mini deserts excellent and also a large apple crumble. All reasonably priced with good pleasant service.

Came in to eat tonight after a tough day. We were delighted to see that we could have “Viking Gammon”. Gammon with cheese and tomato topping, pineapple, fried egg, chips and peas. Two for £14.99. It was superb, not your average pub grub.Chicken tikka was also available. Greene King need to take note, also put the all day breakfast back on the menu please! Fantastic, just what we needed. This pub is one of the best I've ever been to. The atmosphere is so relaxing and friendly and the food is really high in quality. Its so fresh and organic always making you finish it. The service is amazing and the staff are so friendly. A fussy eater would love it

I have taken my family 9 of us for cristmas dinner, I have allrady pay up front as they requested it,when we got there we notice 2 bottles of cava wich I never order on the table, so I asume they came with the meal,when we were about to leeve ,the waiter brings this bill over ,when I ask what was the bill for for,she talld me that it was for the cava wich he insisted I did order it ,so I was very upset as I know I have not order it and though it may came with the meal ,they were ever so rude when I tall that I never order the cava ,and for what I have paied, it may as well be ,so to my dimay ahad to pay onather 90 pounds so no t happy with that place .

Had a lovely time on Christmas Day at the Lord Darcy however at the end there was a bit of confusion which I feel they didn’t real take into any consideration for. We had two bottles of Cava with our Christmas meal which according to the online Christmas menu looked like drinks were part of the menu not an added extra but on the card menu there wasn’t. We paid an extra £108 for these two bottles assuming they were part of the already paid meal. Just felt disappointed with how they made us feel like it was our problem and not really bothered about the confusion.

Food cold, essentially Nachos were thrown together looked like they just bought jars of sauce and dumbed them on I’m not joking I actually think that’s what they do. Ordered the pie which had almost no filling. Again very basic you could do this at home. We were warned that the Darcy is no good for quality food but thought we should give it a go. NEVER AGAIN!!! Not a good place to eat ok if your coming for drinks. Think the only reason it survives is that there isn’t much else in the area. £51 condos that was awful. Not worth it. If you enjoy eating well go somewhere else.

When we drive up from Cheshire to see family we usually go here. Food is good and reasonably priced with enough veg options. Stay are friendly and helpful. It's usually busy but not overly so, hence the nice atmosphere.

Visited today with a group of 9 ladies for the Christmas menu food, service and atmosphere first class. The service and friendliness of the staff was first class. Will definitely be visiting again in 2024.

Very nice pub and it allows dogs which is a rarity nowadays. Staff really friendly and happy to chat. Good selection of drinks and decent enough price wise - could always be cheaper but that goes for everyone. Definitely a place to revisit.

This pub has never been in my opinion the best , bar service is appalling, due to under staffing , but the staff are lovely , the food not to good , again , my opinion , but now it's just not good at all since the new menu ,and I'll mention the menu design😳.

Went for a family Sunday lunch and placed our order, and paid at the bar. After 50 minutes asked a member of staff to check on the progress of our order, which he said he'd do. No feedback was given so After a further 10 minutes, I asked another member of staff to check where our food was. This time she went to the kitchen and returned with our order. Mum's lamb shank was lovely, but the Sunday roasts were barely warm. Apparently, there was a large party of children downstairs which slowed the order down. A point which should have been mentioned when we ordered. It wasn't bad enough for us not to give it another try but I would hope for a better experience next time.

Previously had a minor problem here, Amanda the manager was amazing and dealt with it so professionally!! 10 star rating from my two pups, as they were spoiled with beef when we went on Sunday 🥰 We go here often and it is such a nice environment, with amazing food and staff! Always enjoy a regular visit to my favourite pub! The pub, atmosphere and staff are great. A warm welcome awaits when you arrive! The food and drinks selection is very good and always satisfies! Highly recommend going, I'll be back many times yet.

Slight issue with booking, would advise to phone rather than book online, the food was very good and the service was excellent, the value was very good for 5 adults, starters, mains, deserts and drinks £130 . Will definitely be returning.

Came here with family who were visiting from Newcastle. The food was reasonably priced, tasted good and was well presented. The staff were friendly yet professional. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come here again.

Exquisite, this place has absolutely nailed it, staff, service, food, ambiance the full shebang ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really impressive interior, welcoming and inviting & clean One member of staff shone, a blond lady with short hair, just an absolute delight 💎 Then we get onto the food, I highly recommend the nacho sharing bowl, home cooked nachos that were to die for, I’m seriously hoping all Greene King pub/ kitchens do it like they do it, cause I live 120 miles away from this venue and need those nachos again Hubby and I had the lamb shank Mmmmm divine, the off spring (kids) even commented on how nice the fish & chips and the hunters chicken was We even stayed for dessert which didn’t let us down even, (we’re all bursting at the seams now!) 🐽 In all honestly, even the other diners and regulars we spoke with were friendly and welcoming Dog friendly too We only ended up there because the Toby Carvery was fully booked and the manager there, had recommended it to us If I’d of been a secret customer tonight, then you guys would of been given the highest rating going Keep up the good work, and Thank you for such a pleasant evening Hilli & Paul Fletcher - Birmingham

Tried the new menu, fantastic & contemporary choice of meals at bargain prices First pub I’ve tried in at least a 10 mile radius that you can tell everything is freshly cooked I tried the Fish & Chips and my partner tried the new Grilled Halloumi focaccia; the fish was a nice portion & upheld cultural standards (watch out local chippies!). The focaccia was toasted and warm, yet soft with succulent fillings - great choice of complimenting sauce lathered on each side of the bread meaning it wasn’t dry at all! Well looked after by staff, I was served by a nice lady, think her name was Vicky, my only suggestion would be to have Tim Taylors come back, other than that there is a great selection of cask ales
