Great place, especially the staff

Had a really pleasant afternoon at the Dragons senior Christmas dinner. The food was well cooked, piping hot and delivered in good time considering the amount of meals served. Well done kitchen staff. Front of house Chantelle and Sarah gave us a nice welcome and ensured everybody had all they needed. Sarah even managed to get people dancing to the live music, the performer was excellent and she sang some lovely songs. Thanks to all the team involved. Linda and Mel..

We have just spent a very pleasant afternoon at the Dragon senior Christmas dinner event. The tables were dressed nicely and the atmosphere was very festive. The meals were well cooked and piping hot, served in good time. A great effort from the kitchen staff considering the number of 3 course meals served, well done to them!!. The Front of house staff were friendly and welcoming, thanks to Chantelle and Sarah they ensured everybody had all they wanted, Sarah even managed to get people dancing to the very good live act that was provided. All in all a great effort from the team and excellent value. Thank you, from Linda and Mel.

Visited Dragon which is now under new management which you can tell. Good food, good value and good atmosphere Highly recommend

Now one of our local,s since we moved in to the area,great pub and atmosphere,only had food once but not that good,was told there was only one working in the kitchen at the time..won't stop us going in..

Best place to go for a pre match pint prior to Elland Road. Just wish had more outdoor seating and shelter.

OK pub. Un poco cansado por los bordes. El personal es agradable y amable. La comida está bien y en general una buena relación calidad-precio. Haz un rollito de desayuno todo el día y ten buenas ofertas para pensionistas.

Ordered food and drinks from table using their online table app. After 45 minutes I went to bar to see were our drinks were. The lad looked about 15 checked a long list of receipt and we was the first one. So I took our drinks and sat back down another 30 minutes later I went back to bar to inquire were our meals were. Eventually the plate arrived. This was a Sunday but yet all roasts were off menu so we had to settle for cornbeef pie mash and peas. Well what came was a dry pie the littlest scoop of mash and a thick jelly like gravey. The mash was way over salted. This is the 2nd time we used the dragon first time was decent enough. But this time put us off completely it will be a long while before we dip our toes in again.

Went there as a football fan and was treated very well as an away supporter.Treated very well.Recommended.

Good food friendly staff, had 2 meals and drinks for under £20.

Una noche de cumpleaños para nuestro hijo de 11 años. El personal era educado y acomodamos nuestra mesa de 12 fácilmente. Habían decorado nuestra mesa con pancartas, etc que nuestro hijo amaba. La comida era agradable y salió junto. Noche fantástica.

Buen pub, precios decentes y comida decente, podría hacer con una reforma, pero va a 110% volver, un montón de espacio dentro y una buena cervecería también

Friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price

It was great, the waiters was friendly and polite, the environment was very nice and dog friendly, there was also lots of food options to pick out from the service for food was great and came within 15-20 minutes, very good pricing and very cheap for drinks and food would definitely go again 👍

Went for lunch today with my family and my dog , what a lovley lunch and food was lovley and very fast , it’s a lovley big place and loads of room in side and out side , the new mangers came and said hello to us and really welcomed us , def going back again the menu is really good and well priced ,

Booked a table, arrived at 5pm to be told we could not place an order on food until 6:30pm. No apology. Bar staff were rude.

Food took forever to arrive and was cold when it did.

The wait was ridiculous we had to wait a whole 40 minutes when the food EVENTUALLY came I was disappointed and disgusted by the eggs when I ordered the gammon and eggs the bottom of the eggs was so black and stiff I could literally physically pick up the eggs and wave them around it was black at the bottom it was so disgusting it has clearly been cooked on a hot plate the obviously hasn't been cleaned and has probably cooked a bunch of burgers on so I wouldn't exactly recommend eating here if you want to eat something with eggs or if you're a vegetarian.

We whent to the dragon this Saturday afternoon for a drink and something to eat as it normally has great food and a good atmosphere, but this week was terrible, i admit that there only looked to be two staff working on the bar, but we had a long wait getting served because they were helping out in the kitchen and when we did order our food we had to wait over an hour to get it (after going to the bar to complain) and when it arrived some of it was hot and other parts were cold or luke warm, NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE..

Great pub, really great nachos for a snack! Great staff and service, Sarah, Ellie and Sam were exceptional! Will definitely be back again soon!

Karaoke night was on. Great beer and atmosphere.

Food was absolutely disgusting🤮 Eggs looked like they'd been thrown round kitchen & burnt too an inch of there life. Other meal had a raw fry on the plate full of chips😂

The 3 star review really only references the food experience as this is a great pub…but honestly the food service, cooking times and quality isn’t great. 4 of us ate, we all ordered around the same time but food delivery times varied between 15-45 minutes so we were all eating at different times. Most of the meals had at least one element missing. I chose the chip shop platter and everything was just slightly under average in both quality and execution, I had bread and butter with it and they’d clearly put the bread under a heat lamp while my food was (over) cooking so think pale stale toast on which they stuck 2 tiny pellets of rock hard butter…bit of a 1st world problem I know but you can’t make a chip butty out of a shard of bread and butter you’d need a chisel to spread!

Excellent food and service almost like a very friendly Spoons. Great atmosphere to watch the football and the food did not take very long to arrive!

Nice pub great for drinks, however the food we ordered hadn't arrived after 40 minutes I asked a member of staff who said she would go and check up on it, she didn't return, asked another member of staff after 50 minutes who said there were 5 orders in front of us. 1 hour 10 minutes later we left without having any food or a refund. Won't be returning to this pub.

Lovely little pub lovely beer gardan sun trap!

This pub is very local to us but we stopped going due to the quality of the food. Thought we would give it another try, nothing has changed. Ordered the fish but there was none. Ordered the corned beef hash pie, nothing like the menu described it, the pastry was no hard could not eat it, the filling was just slop and all run out over the plate, mash was tasteless and the peas were like bullets. This pub is ok if you are just drinking but definately give the food a miss

More passing through but lived down the road in 2015

For the first time in many visits I was let down by the food, it was a Friday around noon and there was no fish available, and no corned beef pie left also. So we went for burgers, usually a good standby, the burger was cooked well but no taste of beef in it, half a lettuce leaf, half a rasher of bacon and virtually no mayo in it. The chips were hot but over cooked, this took an hour to arrive, we were that hungry we ate most of it. Pub was only a third full so it seemed too long a wait. Staff were good as usual but I'm not eating there for a while now.

I got the corn beef pie on the menu it said big portions but mine was very small wad still hungry afterwards everyone else's food looked big so don't know what happened to mine

Walked in to be told no gas and bottles only , which we weren’t to happy at , ordered food to be told one chicken option not available , changed it , 10 minutes later told my side of corn on the cob had run out , 50 minutes later asked for a refund as the pub was dead , bar staff eating food and chef talking out front for 20 minutes , no one come up to us saying anything about a delay or a reason why , heard the chef moaning about days worked and things not working , terrible pub and service . Also my refund was under what I paid. Avoid !

Great pub for the burgers, best in leeds. Bar staff (Sarah & Tom) are lovely. Recommend you come for a visit anytime night or day!!!!

Came here a few years ago and it was trash food trash service but my god what a turn around place has a fantastically set out menu and 5 quid burgers on a Wednesday it’s taste was immense from the patty down to the bun just perfect and the young lad who served us was very polite and helpful can’t believe how much this place has turned around will defo be visiting again

Long wait for food - which was poorly cooked. Stomach problems later !! Vocal locals shouting across bar - couldn't hear our conversation.

Called in here on a Friday for the Karaoke and had an absolute blast.

We went on New Years Eve, we didn't eat there just had a couple of drinks. The atmosphere was friendly and joyful. Staff were attentive and helpful even though it was rather busy. We'll definitely be going back.

3 of us went into the dragon today for food...what a disaster the young man behind the counter didn't have a clue what was going on firstly my partner order 2 pints of lager and a pint of blackcurrant and soda he gave him a half?. Tried to order 3 x the pensioners meal..no fish& chips so asked for the breakfast to be told he couldn't do it on the screen it was crossed of and would have to wait until someone came from upstairs then after a while my son went back to ask what was happening to be told the person was in a meeting. Must have been probably 45/50 maybe longer to be told we could now order by this time we were fed up of waiting wouldn't mind the place only had probably 6 customers if that. Really disappointed wont come back here. Regards from 3 very disappointed customers.

Total joke asked to leave at 7pm! Because I had a flat cap on. Then told a fight kick off with local people too. Waste of time this pub now avoid

As a traveler from Hartlepool to Leeds for a long time now, The Dragon is always on the list of places to go when we go back to visit "her fam" It's a place with a proper welcoming local pub feel, good food and friendly staff who are extremely helpful.. dog friendly too... bonus

We have been here three times and unfortunately, on each occasion there was either a 45 minute wait or they didn't have anything on the menu. Tonight we ordered 4 meals and they only had 1 out of the 4. We chose a different meal and yet again, it was not in stock. Although the food and service was fine, we will go to the Travellers Rest for food and drinks next time. P.s.the toilets smell of urine.

Lovely place to go for a family meal

Waited 30 minutes for place to open not much of welcome one of first customers in ordered 4 meals staff where uncaring and didn't seem to know much after waiting one hour twenty minutes had to ask where food was as many others coming in got there's in about twenty minutes was told after they found my order oh it's being dished up after a further ten minutes I was about to go ask again when three out of four meals arrived waited another five minutes for the forth arrived we got a sorry for it being late but no care in the appollogie the meals had been totally rushed to cook supposed to be hand battered fish seemed just frozen batter was flat asked for mushy peas got garden small potion of chips after travelling to leeds for over two hours we needed lunch we almost all but for fish very disappointing we eat in many green king but unfortunately won't be this one in future if we visit Leeds hope service improves as it is a nice pub

Very long wait for a couple of roasts. Can't complain too much as they where £12 for 2. On the other hand they where 80% done by chef Mike. Not too bad though.

Over the years i have visited on many occasions as it’s fairly local to me, although have not participated in the food offering for quite some time as from memory wasn’t impressed but how things have changed. We tried it for Sunday lunch today, the food was fresh, well presented and very tasty. Very impressed and will definitely visit again.

Visited for burgers last night for the first time, was informed about the 40 minute wait and accepted this. Chased twice to be told they will be 15 minutes and then that they were being played up, the burgers arrived after 1 hour 40 minutes just before the kitchen was closing. Will not be returning.

Always good to visit here. They are so accommodating whatever you ask for.

Worst food I’ve ever had fish full of scrap and scampi burnt to a cinder

Absolutely shocking place. Atmosphere like a morgue. Clicky. Ordered food at 1855 to be told at 1930 it would be ten mins. Had to leave at half 8 as food still not arrived. Not one bit bothered did the staff seem. Would definitely not recommend this place.. chicken wings that I did receive as a starter; piping hot, like microwave, hot. And just blathered in BBQ sauce without a care in the world. Only good thing about this place is the ginnel further down the road which cuts out a bit of a walk on game day. Thanks again for nothing. I was informed at the end machines weren’t working properly. I’m sorry but that excuse isn’t good enough especially when you didn’t once offer any sort of compensation for what was going on.. as I looked over at the bar I could see people eating who had been served after me and my friend. Even sat in the quiet area and you could blatantly see us and seemed happy enough having us waiting for food id paid for. Disgusting treatment of customers who sat patiently and never once got on your case.

It's okay but service can be a bit slow and never have correct glasses.. had 2x pints of madri first was in a moretti glass and second in a carling glass.

I didn't go for food, but the pub was nicely done out and friendly.

A bit dark and dinghy inside, but outside would be nice when the weathers nice. TV screen with sport on so wont miss any major sporting events.

Most expensive pub in leeds 12 for beer. Will not return rip off beer prices

Wednesday evening not busy 2 chefs on and our 2 meals were very poor. 1 attempt over cooked steak & chicken cold and not fresh. 2nd attempt chicken salad just put under the hot plate salad was warm and chicken still not fresh. Steak ok sent the lot back. A waist of 1 hour. Not great. We were invited back and both our meals were cooked perfect. Thank you

Booked part of the pub for my sons private surprise birthday. I can’t thank the staff enough, specially for keeping it a secret as he’s in there most days!! Staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much. Specially Callie Freeman who helped with the decorations and kept asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Food from the buffet was amazing and the remains was all boxed up for us to take away. Highly recommended and well done everyone xx

I visited this pub on Monday 8th May 2023 with my partner for a quick drink and a bite to eat. The food was lovely and the blonde girl behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Even though she didn't look well, she still managed to provide a brilliant service. She definitely has a good sense of humour as well :) credit to the team!

Booked a table for my parents. When we arrived the pub was busy. We were shown to a table that had been cleared but not wiped down. We chose our meals and went to order, they did not have what we wanted, and was informed that anything we ordered would take at least an hour. We changed our orders and still they didn't have our choices. There appeared to be only two staff serving. I was very disappointed.

Went for Xmas day dinner.. very poor. Poorly cooked cheap frozen veg, stuffing was like a cricket ball, wrong starter given despite pre order, pudding was OK...
