The Loft Lounge & Bar in Mendip

Good food, very friendly and hospitable staff and good atmosphere, although was quite quiet when I was there.

As soon as you walk in it looks fantastic, used to be a nightclub I remember back in the day. All the staff were amazing special mention goes to the person that answered the phone to book a table, he was fantastic. Love the decor and the high ceiling, music was really great and relaxing adding to the atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Food disappointing nice space but food overpriced and not that good and alcohol foo expensive .

A really lovely place to enjoy a quality meal. Relaxing atmosphere with attentive staff. Only criticism is the menu for vegetarians is limited.

This place is the best venue for brilliant food and top notch service with a side of humour! If you haven't been to the loft recently, you havent been to the loft. I couldn't recommend it enough and glad we made the decision to try the loft instead of spoons and the flavours... just OMG! Spoons is over rated, in comparison to the loft. See you again soon!!!

Their food is incredible, and the atmosphere is great, in this building full of character. The owner is always around with a smile, and welcoming attitude, and the staff are great 👍 This place is versatile, and worth a visit! Get the lamb - and love that gravy!

Had the most amazing time here last night. I am not someone to usually leave reviews, so this shows how good this place actually is! I arrived; and the owner took me and my partner in. He was very friendly and chatty, made me feel comfortable immediately. The decoration of the place is beautiful. Onto the food! WOW!! Great quality food, for decent prices. You are definitely getting your moneys worth. We went on wednesday to take advantage of their steak night; £40 for 2 steaks, and a bottle of wine. Portion size was huge, and the food was delicious. We are definitely coming back again.

First time visiting since its opened, and I regret not going sooner. Great food, great service by the owner, and lovely atmosphere.

Highly recommend, had a few meals here now and everything has always been flawless. Go on an empty stomach as portion sizes are generous.

Lovely ambience and great service

We had a family party on Boxing Day and chose to spend it at the Loft, glad we did, the whole venue looked amazing, all staff were extremely friendly and hard working bar one the tall gentleman behind the bar found him extremely unfriendly and cold. Food was well presented and extremely tasty, portion sizes were large, especially the chicken tower burger with hash browns. The loft is a great venue for any occasion and Mark is a great host and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be returning and will be are first port of call for any special occasion.

Mark and his team were absolutely brilliant for our first ever Total Plumbing Supplies Street Customer event, he even extended the burger night deal for us as I'd raved about it to the customers so much. The food was incredible, service stupendous and atmosphere was excellent. We will be back for more nights out with friends, family and customers alike. Eat here and you won't be disappointed!!!

Had our granddaughters birthday party at the Loft. The venue is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for around 160 people. Mark went above and beyond to make it a magical experience for us.recommend it as a first choice in street. Well done Mark

Can’t begin to say how amazing this venue is for a party. My granddaughter celebrated her 6th birthday here on Sunday and we genuinely had the very very best time ever! Mark is just brilliant! Nothing is too much trouble and every need catered for. 5 star venue, service, atmosphere and Mark makes it all happen. Thank you for the best party ever 🤩🤩🤩

Yesterday we celebrated our wedding day at The Loft from our first meeting with Mark right the way though to this morning the communication was fantastic and Mark met all our needs.Every staff member couldn't do enough for us The food was absolutely amazing.This is by far the most beautiful venue to celebrate any event.i can not recommend The Loft highly enough JUST PERFECT ♥️

The Loft is a stunning venue: Street's hidden gem. We chose it as the venue it to celebrate our 20th business anniversary (we had around 50 guests). Mark & his team were fantastic: nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious, the service first class. If you're planing a corporate or family event I'd thoroughly recommend visiting The Loft.

We held our Cognique 20th anniversary party at The Loft on Friday afternoon, Mark was such a fabulous host and all our guests commented on the venue, food and brilliant drink selection. Nothing was too much trouble, we'll definitely be back!

We had a lovely meal. Service from the staff was so good. Only criticism is that we were cold. With the front door open, we could feel the cold coming in, so had to pop our coats on.

Went there for a meal out, I was surprisingly impressed by the atmosphere, great food and lovely service. Will definitely return. It became my favourite place to go. I do recommend the fish with the potato cake!

Wonderful atmosphere - went here for an anniversary date and will be going again soon for a birthday evening. Food, drinks and service all exceptional. Emailing about enquiries also very helpful - definitely will do their best to help.

Such a warm welcome from front of house and our waiter. Felt very welcome in the devine 1920's venue.

Visited last night with friends. We had the burgers and chips, best burger I have had for a long time. Easily the best in Street. Great beer selection and very attentive staff Definitely returning.

Was here for a birthday party last week and it was amazing. They had drag as the entertainment and it was really good. Great staff and atmosphere, really busy, lovely interior and a great outside area. Definitely worth a visit.

Nothing was too much hassle, the food = wow, everyone commented on how beautiful the buffet was, Mark has done amazing well with revamping this venue and everyone commented on how beautiful it was! Great food (Xmas work do, so turkey dinner) and atmosphere. Just after 9.30 the lights went down and the music was turned up and the dancing started. Fab night out.

We had a surprise 60th in the loft for my husband, what an amazing night it was . The buffet we had was fantastic, all our guests commented on the quality of it . The place itself is amazing, there’s definitely nothing like it for miles . Mark and staff couldn’t be more friendly or accommodating, it was a total success. Lovely food and their entire menu is or can be made gluten free. It is literally gluten free heaven!

Went here for my father's birthday, the atmosphere and service were rather good, and my meal was outstanding however I do have a few negative points. For their high prices you expect the best. However, with frozen sausages which to quote "hadn't been defrosted" that didn't seem like the quality we paid for. The drink times took a little while however working in the food service myself I understand this isn't always the bar staff's fault. However, with only 5 tables it seemed a little too long. Food was good but once again one meal came out a little later which is always a upsetting when you are having a family meal. Apart from that I couldn't knock the friendliness of the staff. But if you are charging premium price, I expected more. However, with a bit of touch up here and there, could see this being a real 5 star experience for all! Good night overall

What a place! Mark is bloody lovely, can't do enough for you, the food was amazing, so tasty. The prices are crazy, very reasonable indeed! And the venue is stunning. We had such a good night and would definitely recommend and return. Thanks Mark and team!

Booked here for a surprise Birthday meal for our friend. Staff very helpful and friendly, they helped us to decorate and were able to play a video on the screen (sent from our friend who couldn't make it), they went above and beyond to help and one even videoed the surprise moment for us. P.s the food was amazing, no complaints. Would highly recommend.

First time at the loft tonight, what a fantastic place, atmosphere, staff, and food, outstanding. If you want good food, and don’t mind paying a little more for good food and service, this is the place to go, Street needs a place like this, well done everyone there, we will definitely be coming back 👍

Amazing place. amazing food. Great ambience. Starter was size of a main. Main was huge. Couldn't eat dessert . Out of room in belly. Great surprise for my wife. She loved it all. Top chefs. Very fairly priced. For top notch food.

The food was average, but the atmosphere promises a lot of fun. There is dancing in the evening and the location is super for parking. The cocktails were unfortunately poor.

I had my birthday meal there last night and I can honestly say it was one of the best nights we've had in a long time, we had a party of 22 people and Mark and his team were brilliant, the food was great and plenty of it, the service was fantastic and the cocktails were amazing. I would highly recommend a night at the loft for any occasion .

Excellent food and customer service. Was worried the price might be a bit much but for the quality and quantity of the food it was well worth is. We will be back. One thing could make the meal better is if the coleslaw was served in a separate small container. If you’re not careful it will make your bun soggy.

Stunning new lounge and food bar. With stylish seating and great atmosphere. Nothing like it around. friendly staff and great features kept from a long history of this old building outside seating as well.
