Sat outside with our dog. Just had drinks this time. Menu looked varied, will have food next time we visit. Good choice of drinks, good service. There are patio heaters under some of the umbrellas .

Great beer at a good price. My wife enjoyed the house white as well. Nice and relaxing place with a lot of out door seating if the weather is nice!

Me and my boyfriend was involved in a car crash just outside. The manager (I'm assuming she is) was absolutely lovely, as was the bar staff. Gave us a free coke and said we can stay about till recovery arrives. 10/10

Helpful, friendly bar staff kept our drinks coming as we sat outside under a large cover. Heaters available if it got too cold. Good range of beers and wines - I was drinking Cheshire Cat or Oracle - and friendly atmosphere.

Great place lovely meals, the only complaint was a gang of lads came in sat right next to us and where so noisy and loud we had to move to another part of restaurant/bar to be able to talk amongst are selves but the staff and the food where great

Stayed over this week for 2 nights . Staff all lovely & wonderful breakfast . Will definitely stay again if return to Chester .

We have called into this bar for the last 3 days when we have been walking back to our hotel. The staff are great. The drinks are reasonably priced. We didnt sample the food but it seemed to be enjoyed by other people. If we ever return to chester we will certainly visit the lodge

Always a great experience, beer is really good. Food is great also. But its a great location and outside is lovely and heated. More heaters have been brought in.

Managed to get a table outside on just turning up, lucky as it was quite busy and ppl were being turned away Very organised COVUD wise.

The bar was well organised and it was very popular. You don't have to wait long for seats or drink and food. We stayed in the lodge which was very nice,the room was comfortable and so was the bed. The staff are great.

Great bar in hoole always good atmosphere with friendly staff. Good beer and cider always clean glasses and fresh tasting, good selection of both draught and bottled. Good wine selection and also great selection of spirits. The food here is amazing! For the price it really is excellent quality. The burgers are really good here they're probably one of the best in Chester I go for the steak one with Mexican cheese and jalapenos. In the week is not to busy for lunch but weekends it may be better to book a table for food. I've not had a Sunday roast here but have heard it's one of the best in Chester.

A great pub this one offset from the road with a lovely atmospheric feel with a friendly welcome and flooded with natural light. Of course great beer as well.

Can’t compliment them enough. The food is excellent and the variety is eclectic, from mussels to Chilli. Great pub food at sensible prices and the beer is also priced sensibly. You can sit outside or in but the tables inside do seem to be reserved by regulars which might be a bit off putting when you walk in as you can see a sea of reserved signs! Staff are great and helpful too the sharing platter for starters was excellent. Haven’t tried the desserts but they looked good. Ant understand why people would chose anywhere else in Hoole for lunch

The food is very good, as are the people. However, the disabled loo is not large enough to manoeuvre a powered wheel chair properly, nor is the car park easy to manoeuvre once it becomes full. Five stars for the food and people, but the rest lets them down.

The Lodge is a very nice bar that serves food a very standard. Their main beer comes from the Salopain brewery but also have a number of other lagers and bitters. The bar is split into a number of smaller rooms with different types of furniture. On thing that is very popular at the lodge is the outside seating area that has large umbrellas and heaters
