Bar. . no hielo !

We checked in over the May Bank Holiday and found this tucked away Hotel perfect for our needs. The rooms are bright and well decorated, although more than 2 power points would be helpful! The bathroom was clean with clean towels everyday a bonus. We managed to take advantage of the spa whilst there and found the facilities to be clean and modern. The only downside was access to the pool via a flight of steps..not great when wet! The full English breakfast is a must, especially the sausages whilst the hotel reception are equally as nice and extremely helpful. Be careful when ordering Taxis from the town centre back to the lodge though, they do not appear to know where it is - I even had to put directions into the taxi driver's phone to find the way back!!

The restaurant here serves many purposes. It's ideal for golfers after a round. It's used by gym club members after exercise. And there are evening events to tempt members back in the evening. The food is quite imaginative and of a good standard. If you happen to be just walking in the park then it's nice to pick up an ice cream here. The staff are friendly.

I pre booked a twin room for myself and my Daughter for an overnight stay with breakfast included. Following our 4hr journey to the hotel we checked in to find that we had been allocated a double room and not a twin, I informed Steve on reception who said that he could not do anything until a relief member of staff arrived which would allow him to go and split the beds and re make them. He appeared to be unsure as to whether or not he would be able to do this due to the staffing problem so not wanting to make too much fuss we said that if it wasn't possible then we would make do with the situation but he did assure us that he would put a second duvet in the room for us to use. However when we returned later that evening nothing had been done and there was no second duvet in the room either! Our room was in more of a motel situation, it was very isolated, down a number of difficult steps which were very poorly lit at night, it was a long outdoor walk to the main reception building where we also had breakfast. We were told that when we returned from our evening out we would be able to park outside our room but that was not possible due to other vehicles parked. The access into that area was not well lit or wide enough to turn so we ended up having to back out which was extremely stressful in the dark due to the close proximity of trees and bushes bordering the access! We eventually parked outside the Lodge building and then had to negotiate the very poorly lit outside steps down to our room! The following morning we walked to the reception building to have breakfast, we had allowed plenty of time but thought it best to ask the waitress if it would take long if we ordered a cooked breakfast,I told her that we had to attend a funeral so could not be late. She said it would not take long but walked away without taking our order, I thought she would return but she did not so after waiting 25 minutes we thought it best to just have some cereal. As we were about to leave another couple sat down at a table, the same waitress immediately went over and took their order! I found this extremely rude and ignorant as for some reason she had chosen to ignore us!.Overall I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel and would not recommend it or contemplate staying there again!

I had to make a flying visit down to Bournemouth and made a last minute.com booking. Meyrick park wasn't what I expected at all. It would seem to be targeted at guests who want to play golf and use a very super looking gym and apparently a swimming pool which they seem very proud of. I didn't get a chance to look as I arrived late after a horrendous journey and only wanted a bed!! The bedrooms are situated away from the club house in 'the lodge'. The staff are brilliant, the breakfast (I took a chicken wrap and a drink to my room when I arrived) was very good. The beds, extremely comfortable. Although everything was very clean the bathrooms are slightly tired. Only lovely fluffy towels provided and pump soap. Didn't see (or look for) a hairdryer.

What a great place this is.After yet another visit here after 13 years of coming to Meyrick the receiption staff are very accommodating, friendly and welcoming, and the greens have recovered from whatever damaged them 18 months ago.Course well maintained and a great dog walk around the outer perimeter. Easy down hill walk into Bournemouth that takes no longer than 10 minutes. A stay at Meyrick has all angles covered.

The Cafe is part of the bowling club and run by local firm Charmans Catering. It is closed during the winter season but open from spring to late autumn. It is a bit off the beaten track, but ideal for dog walkers and anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet in the park. There is a free and spacious car park adjacent to the cafe which not many people seem to know about. The service can be a little "Fawlty Towers" but to my mind this adds to the charm of the venue. The smoked salmon and cheese omelette is my favourite. The menu mainly features cooked breakfasts, omelettes, baked jacket potato, salads and sandwiches. Sometimes there is a choice of freshly baked cakes. I am a frequent visitor as I live nearby.
