The best fish n chips I've had for a long time. Get down to this fish shop n try wow you won't be disappointed best in the area and service second to non will take a photo this week to post eat in or take away

Not a chippy at all waited 15 minutes for a chip butty that I doubt was cooked in the fryer but a microwave as thats all I saw the lady do. Chips came still hard in the middle and a seeded bun that was clap cold. Save your money

Beautiful fish and chips all fresh sat in restaurant....cheap for a fish shop. Very polite staff.will definitely use them again

Chips were lukewarm at best looked like they had been sat there for a while, they were also extremely greasy not fresh at all. Definitely not worth £5 for a portion of chips and scraps

I was there on Monday this week but it was very disappointing. My fish looked no where near as good as that. The chips weren't clean as in they had traces of masala on them. They looked to be fried multiple times. The fish batter was very thin and hard compared to most other fish. It was very small as well. I paid £19 for both and got very little chips with mine. The staff were very polite so no issues with the hospitality aspect. I was very disappointed to say the least. Hopefully, they can improve if more people support them.

Lovely fresh fish . Light crispy batter. Gorgeous chips. . Fantastic deal of £15 for x2 . With a curry sauce/ peas of your choice and a pot of tea. Will defo go back .

⚠️UPDATE - Following my review 2 months ago, the shop added a note to say they would be contacting me to put things right. ⚠️NOT HEARD A THING! ⚠️ NB: If you pay by card here it shows on your bank statement as SQ Mexi Bean Halifax!!!!*********** Really friendly welcome & service but chips were shocking, they were probably nice when fresh but looked like they had been cooked a long time. Dry, rock hard & just not fit to serve. See photo you can see quality. Such a shame as really friendly staff, We won’t go again it was a waste of money!! 👎🏼

The 2 people that served me are amazing the food is gorgeous defiantly go there again the food portions are massive and cheap as hell the customer service was better than anything definitely go there again a lot quite fast to get your food and they treat each customer with so much respect highly recommend to everyone spacious and child friendly too

The “Barnfield Bunch” of 6 mature discerning ladies went to the Little Mermaid in Dewsbury for lunch. Today (16.6.23) was the first visit for what we hope will be a monthly trip to enjoy good food and good company together. Well, folks, did we choose the best place or what?? Thank you so much to “Chief Fryer” Mo. You were so welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious. Genuine Yorkshire fish and chips: fresh white fish, crisp flavourful batter, perfect mushy peas and chips which deserve to become legends. So that’s our monthly “ Bunch Lunch” sorted. We’ll be back !!

Amazing food the fish was beautiful and reasonably priced considering the rise in food and utilities at the moment. The restaurant area was clean. We were served by alisha and phoebe who were lovely waitresses and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be calling again.

Best fish and chips in dewsbury by far very good value for money

Paid £10 for fish and chips and a curry. Portion size wasn’t great, fish was £6 and very small. Chips were cold.

Went in today tiny portions for what we paid restaurant was cold kitchen bit didn't look very tidy and ordered too lots of peas they shoved in a pot only half full that was supposed to be for 2 people very bad value for money

I went today it was lovely the portion sizes was well worth the money the fish was lovely really alk family enjoyed all of it I would definitely reccomend this fishshop thankyou definitely be going back
