The LightHouse Bar in Tamworth

Went in today and was made very welcome the cider I had was priced at £2.50p it was was very refreshing the toilets were clean and I will return to try the food I was very impressed

Clean, tidy, and great staff. I'm really glad it's reopened. Also, they do Carling during the afternoon, which is £2.50 a pint currently.

Good bar with a good selection of drinks

Just had a pleasant evening and a nice meal.

Food was awful!! They were changing prices constantly. We had a large party and it was like they made it up as they went. Would never recommend eating here.

My experience visiting the lighthouse in Tamworth has been very enjoyable, friendly & very well run. I get greeted very well by whichever person is on duty & now always enjoy my stay. I do think they have their model right & wish them a long & happy existence in the town. My thanks to Baz & all of the team

Lovely place and fantastic staff

We went one week day afternoon. It was quiet but was surprisingly good with the kitchen serving decent food all day, nice friendly bar staff

Only stopped for a drink but looks ok. Looks more of an evening sort of place.

It's nice, but you couldn't sit and just talk as the music was so loud, this was in the afternoon and there wasn't many people in. The music would have been better as background music.

Average chain pub. Clean reasonably priced, staff could do with smiling more. Not much atmosphere

Dreadful. We and another couple waited an absolute age for burger and chips. When it arrived it was inedible totally. Chips overdone on outside but uncooked in the middle. Burger bun was totally burned and burger was dry and like a wooden coaster. Disgraceful and got a full refund and apology

I popped in for a bite to eat and asked whether they had any vegan options. The manager went out of her way to offer me choices. Lovely food and a really nice experience. Cheers!

Very disappointed, me & 4 friends visited before seeing a show at the assembly rooms, I ordered a small diet coke & from under the counter the bar maid got a warm 2litre 99p bottle of cheap coke & poured me a glass, my friend had lemon & lime & again a warm 2 litre 79p bottle of lemonade was used. We complained & said it was false advertising, so the barmaid removed the labels from the bottles ? We were only having pop as both driving, the others had alcohol which were all fine, We asked to speak to the manager who we had seen on the premises but he never came out to us & another young man who was behind the bar dealt with us, the staff were polite & friendly & we had no issue with them at all. The old Tavern over the road was rammed thats why we went into the lighthouse as it was empty. bad choice.

Ordered lager on Saturday and it was disgusting took one sip and had to leave it, it was flat and disgusting won't be going back there again Reply Wow did you just call a customer a liar what a great customer service you give. we were there early evening hardly anyone was there

BEST FOOD IVE EVER HAD IN MH LIFE I DONT USUALLY LIKE SPICE BUT EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT I COULDN'T FAULT IT ALL THE KIDS LOVED IT 199% RECOMMEND TO VISIT

The lighthouse and its restaurant are absolutely brilliant, I had the calamari and shrimp burger served with mac and cheese + a side of wings with jerk sauce. Both dishes were extremely tasty and would definitely recommend if your in the area. Price was great value for money.

Food was absolutely fantastic. Service was second to none. Thoroughly recommended the shrimp starter. Main comes served with fries, mac n cheese (gorgeous, and that cheese pull) with plantain and coleslaw. Will definitely come back here again

Popped in for a bite to eat, new menu and chef, food was incredible, everything fresh and hot. Creole shrimp was unbelievable, calamari on point, wagyu burger was a tower of meaty goodness. Travel to try this place, you won't be disappointed. Hookline and Seafood bites, hats off to you!

Very disappointing visit poor service staff not familiar with content of food description off menu and then argue over description ie curry served with onion and pepper side no mention of chilli in it which left my mouth numb and it’s my fault for not anticipating pepper’s really means chilli drinks served without requested lime and oblivious to how cold premises was even though customers were leaving we did finally get a wall heater switched on ,not sure about a light house more like a ship without a rudder it’s as if they really don’t care what the customer opinion is of the establishment. Management need to get a grip or this place will not survive in these troubling times

Unfortunately the food took about 59 minutes to come out. They forgot to take for the drinks also and had to do the transaction separately. We got in early to make sure we had eaten in good time before the fireworks event in tamworth Castle grounds and ended up rushed. Bad service and bad first impression. Don't think I will be giving it another try.

Loved the food and friendliness, would be even better if it was dog friendly.

Awful customer service bad management and food orders mixed up the manager made me feel uncomfortable he kept asking for my payment an when i was eating and the waitress asked to. They had a problem with the card machine i offered to show it came out my account i would not recommend tbis place at all. It was not declined several times. I wouldn't let anyone have my bank card several times. It was my father who paid. The meal got mixed up a joke. Not classy at all head away from there if you want a good meal. The payment machine wasn't working enough i have let my friends now what a farce it is tbere. Head to the toby carvery if you want a good meal.

Out of date needs alot of TLC run down Myself and the wife had the misfortune of having a drink there we both went to the bathroom And when we came out One of the bar staff had picked our drinks up And threw them away never again

Serious staffing issues. They haven't got a clue, don't understand or just don't know how. Getting a latte is 20 minute wait. Sunday dinner meat was reheated cold Turkey, two tiny frozen roast potatoes, a scoop of packet mash. Certainly not cooked in their kitchen. It is without doubt the worst value I've ever had.

Found the facility to be friendly and welcoming, as I am gluten intolerant the staff was fully understanding and totally informed the food was outstanding and I would recommend the Lighthouse to everyone. Thank you for an amazing meal 👍👍👍👍👍

Still in isolation after being pinged last week. Only place we checked into. Wine glasses dirty, tables not cleared even though not busy.

Absolutely Beautiful food.. definitely recommend the breakfasts and the lighthouse burger and the steak... well all of it 😁 lovely friendly chatty staff that makes you feel very welcome. Id recommend this place to anyone and everyone. This is just what this town needs :)

This place only deserves 1 star, or zero stars due to the lack of professionalism from the staff. I certainly wouldn't attend here from what I've heard and they get the food orders mixed up. It's a pity it's re-opened.

Had Sunday lunch incompetent is too lighter word to say about the whole team including the manager down to waiting staff and rude to say the least they took payment 3 times !!!! And it failed but even though we contacted ourbak and payment had been took they insisted that we pay again also false advertising about Sunday lunch £6.99 that is for oap which they fail to tell you all in all a very bad experience and manager very offensive

Went in at 7:15 on a Saturday night. Very quiet. Staff were not friendly or welcoming. Training needed as staff not sure what sweet wine is as “cannot taste it”. Won’t be in a rush to return.

Where do I start. Had to pay £5 deposit on each table I booked and the £5 came of the total bill which wasn’t to bad as I thought it was going to be busy. But on arrival the establishment was empty and really there was no need to book tables unless you was going in peak times. The bar as only just reopened and hasn’t changed since the last time I went in there over 15 years ago. But I must say I won’t be going back to this bar as the staff were awful and didn’t resolve the issues we had with the greatest customer service they was ignorant rude offensive and out and right un professional especially the manager well I assumed he was the manager a black man who just stood behind the bar shouting over to us.

We had a great night in the lighthouse Saturday night, lovely staff, great music even though we were only dancing in our seats it was a great atmosphere 😊 fingers crossed this place does well definitely recommend 🖒

Me and a few friends from work visited today after going for a ‘bottomless lunch’ at another place (which was rather disappointing) when we visited the lighthouse we was greeted by Cory, he was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and friendly, a true asset to the company. Thank you!!

I visited this establishment and was mortified by the customer service that was provided. I ordered a pint San Miguel with a dash of lemonade it was delivered to me and I tasted and it tasted like the syrup had gone so I asked for it to be changed, they then delivered me another one which also was not right I then passed it around 3 others that were with me and all said the same, it tasted off. I then asked for it to go back again to then be approached by a young lad no older than 20 to be told there was nothing wrong with it and they sell hundreds of these a week, I then advised him that there was something wrong I was then spoken to in a derogatory and inappropriate manner. The customer service was disgraceful I have never in my 40 years been spoken to like that and then to top it off the manager from behind the bar shouted ‘just tell him we will do him another drink’ and then charged for the drink sent back and the second drink!!!! A member of our party addressed these issues with the manager and the member of staff in question and was also subjected to the same poor quality and disrespectful customer service. I would not recommend visiting this establishment unless you would like to be treated in a disrespectful and inappropriate manner by staff who have been poorly trained in customer service.

After waiting so long for it to open was very disappoint to see same drab furnishing and the toilets are disgusting nothing done to update it at all

Saturday night, 8.30 ish waited 10 minutes to be served for drinks. Not overly busy but we were seated behind the bar. Walked out.
