I was part of a party of 20 yesterday. This place cannot cope with the pressure! You’ve put in one of the replies how cooking for 20 is impossible in the kitchen industry, so why accept a booking of 20 knowing full well you couldn’t cope as you’ve said! Also you’ve turned around we all come at different times and late, but another part of your reply is saying that we was all together. Now who’s lying? Youve also mention that none of us was ready until 7:30 to order, but no one took our order till then. We shouldn’t be expected to come to the bar which we should have to do as you offer table service! Your staff were really rude and you clearly need to take lessons in customer services!

Was there 2 hours before food arrived, there was a big party of us they clearly couldn’t cope, everyone was charged for food they didn’t order, tried saying some didn’t pay even though they had a receipt. The one man was rude when confronted about waiting time. I will never be going back and neither will my family.

Wow, went in tonight to find Mohammad is back running the restaurant again. Food was amazing . We had a chicken Bhuna madras and a Butter chicken. So happy Mo is running the place again. Light of bengal is once again our favourite curry house .

Starters are amazing , But they seem new to the industry and the service was lacking . Mains was not to my taste sadly .

Waited 1 hour and a half for our food ( shocking ) also they got the food order wrong and curry was watered down I did not like it

Sadly we are so disappointed to see this. We used the light if bengal for 40 years This was heartbreaking the food was terrible biryani that was loaded with mint and 4 prawns no vegetables of any description. And no sauce No atmosphere had to ask for the heating to be turned off . Sorry I dont think we will be visiting again £55 wasted 🥺

Food too hot not much of it, very hard to understand them as English not well spoken disappointed with food all round ,best part was the delivery driver,will definitely absolutely not be ordering anything from them again sadly the new management have not got a clue 😢 😞

What can I say this place is now under new management and they have lost my custom!! So disappointed the food was cold and nothing like what the old owners use to provide and naan was dry, thin and hard could have used it as a frisbee! I ordered a keema naan and it may as well have been a plain naan there was nothing in there.

Really would not use the place again since under new management terrible from start to end the curries we asked for which are popular dishes at any curry house they said could not do and looked like they never known what a korma was it was not up to standard of a restaurant at all food looked home made pre done by not by a professional chef really terrible the curry come out in a cereal bowl avoid at all cost this place needs work and you need to get a professional doing the food not your family members doing the cooking

Being honest, was in the chippy next door. Begged to use the toilet (I'm 61, disabled and have a problem with my bladder) I even offered to buy something but was told that's not allowed. Don't care how good/bad your food is you'd never get a penny off me mate. Try being kind

I hate myself for forgetting how delicious this food is. When I remember though, best believe I'm a menace lol Just come back from holiday and I'm heading straight there from the airport!

We used light of bengal for the first time last night 29 /04/2023 on hearing from a friend that he had used it on the previous night and how much he had enjoyed it.i thought that it was a little expensive but on tasting it was amazing we had a starter and a main course we would use again instead of the usual take away. Gorgeous food and arrived on time piping hot 10 out of ten for the food and the service......

Not impressed had to go back as they had given me the wrong meal, they actually asked me to bring the chicken tikka starter back that I’d opened In my home. Hopefully they won’t reuse in Someone else’s meal. Response How is food cooked fresh 20 minutes ago unsafe to eat ? You did ask for it back and we were happy to pay the difference for the new meal and collect as wanted the correct food ASAP.

Ordered their food today. There were barely any meat pieces in the curry. Also the delivery driver was not able to drop the food so I had to make my own way last minute to collect the food

Food tastes ok but portion are a complete joke ! 4 tiny pieces of chicken in a chicken curry , when we compain well sir we cook enough to eat only ! My mate ordered a pint of carling £2.75 and was served a can of carling 440mm agen complain and was given another can ! Place is a joke and very expensive for what you are served

I have been having takeaways from this restaurant for a great many years. I have never been disappointed or had a bad experience with the service or food. I don't have my Indian takeaway from anywhere else. They are also super friendly and professional. Great food, great service and great people.

5 stars for service, clean and presentable restaurant, and food in general. And not overly expensive like some. Taken off one star as my Curry was not as tasty as it used to be from this place. Possible it's a one off, but more likely a change of chef.

ordered food christmas eve when it arrived it looked awful ,when served up it tasted as bad as it looked,and the paratha tasted raw,have eaten in your restaurant a few times and had takeaways never a problem but you got this very wrong not happy paying just under 30 pounds for food that ended up in the bin

Order was missing items on a delivery, phoned restaurant and got the missing items out to us within 5 minutes. Fantastic service. Oh and food fab.

I've never seen anything like it the chips look a week old with furr!!! The chicken in the curry smelt like egg! I ordered at 5:30 opening time so everything I had delivered should of been freshly cooked. It was all days old what a waste of money

First time we have ever tried this place and can i say it was beautiful. The service was very good and with the virus going around the driver had gloves and a mask on with was really good to see as im at risk. The food was hot and so fresh and just beautiful, we will certainly order again.

Do not order from this takeaway! Put an order in at 1800 and at 2130, no food. Called 3 times and received 3 different excuses. No refund either!!!

Ordered on Uber eats. The staff was wasteman people that rang me and said that the drivers outside when the wasteman was 15 mins away. I waited half an hour in the freezing cold for the order just for the fool driver to drive past me without even stopping outside the 500% correct and detailed address provided. I clearly explained in the instructions section to call me when he’s outside the address. Maybe the driver was a broke waste man that he didn’t even have enough minutes to gimme a ring when he’s outside. He literally didn’t even stop for two seconds and just drove past me. Absolute wasteman. Absolutely unprofessional. I have my own takeaway as well and after the experience that I had with this delivery I’m literally fuming for it being so ultra unprofessional. It is basic common sense to follow the instructions on the order and at least wait outside the designated location where the satnav brings you and try to call the customer at least once. But this experience was an absolute joke. And then the Wasteman arrives back at the shop and I get a call from Uber eats that the address that I provided wasn’t accurate ?? Absolute wasteman staff who ring you up to tell you the drivers outside when it’s 15 mins away. Waste people. Nasty experience. Wouldn’t recommend delivery from these waste people. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 Shame. Should call me and get some education on how to run a takeaway and how to manage deliveries. Waste people running this takeaway. 👎🏼 Absolute shambles.

We stopped in on a cross-country drive after using google maps to find restaurants. I’m so thankful that google found this little gem! The restaurant is very clean and well-decorated. The staff is extremely friendly, especially Mo. And the food!!! SO GOOD! I had the mango tree special and my husband ordered the butter chicken. Both were excellent! I wish we had a restaurant like this in the states!

The place was empty but it still took over an hour to get service, the food got dropped on the floor taken away but the waiter brought food back to the table that had been bashed about. We were charged for food we did not have. This used to be a lovely place but now I would not recommend it. It’s truly the worst experience I’ve ever had. Avoid at all cost.

Not been here for a while as the food wasn't as good as it used to be don't know what changed as it used to be beautiful and the only place i ate from. Lovely people too.

I knew this place back in the 80s. It has grown in size, though, i must admit the food was better when the old man had it. I havent eaten there for some years now but it looks spotless in there.
