Nowhere near as good as they were. Limited choice. Won't bother again .

Fantastic service by staff and management

Really disappointed in this cheese sandwich I paid £6 for, No filling and the women who made it wasn’t very pleasant

Food is good, but the service is slow. One person in front of me when I went in and I waited 10mins to get a breakfast sandwich. If there are 2 people already in line then it’s not worth the wait.

Lovely sandwiches but took about half an hour to make it. Couldn’t order anything that was actually on the menu either. Would be an ideal place for lunch but the service makes it impractical.

Appalling service and shocking staff attitude today. Service, availability of food and speed has deteriorated since they moved to Colmore Row. I continue to return hoping today will be different, but it hasn't picked up since they relocated and the long serving staff moved on. Absolutely won't be going back after today's fiasco. Waited 40 minutes at 10.00 am for a sandwich and drink when there were only 3 customers in the store. Hardly peak time. Staff were totally disorganised, cant think ahead, clearly have no food and hygiene knowledge, cross contamination of tongs vegi to meat items. When we dared to ask for our sandwiches after 30 minutes of waiting the servers spoke to each other in their language, that's the height of rudness. They then had the audacity to say to another customer you should have rang 15 minutes ago and placed your order, you wouldn't have to stand and wait. At that point my colleague asked to speak to the manager. Lydia who after being called 3 times, eventually 10 minutes later appeared from downstairs with an equally dismissive attitude "what's the problem" she shouted from behind the counter, some 20 ft away. She proceeded to make excuses; they had been busy. It's a city centre store. That's to be expected, plan ahead, that's part of the hospitality trade. Definitely 3 customers who won't be returning again.

Ordered lunch for the office. The menu had plenty of choice. Service was friendly and helpful. Delivery was on time. Food was well presented and enjoyed by all. This was my first time arranging catering, for 14 people, so thank you for making it easy. Expect a repeat order.

Hot and cold food available. Open at 06.30 in the morning during the week. Sandwiches, salads freshly made. Great team, great service 👏🏼

We ordered a delivery of pastries, fruit platters and juice. The service was amazing, arrived with plenty of time for us to set up and the food was presented beautifully. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast - thank you to the team at the Colmore Row store!

Ordered a sausage sandwich, was only given one sausage. Charging £5 for 2 slices of bread and one sausage, is ridiculously overpriced even for today.

Not bad gluten free sandwich. One down point went to use same knife to butter my gluten free bread as had used on customer in front normal bread

Hot food, salads and pizza all slap. Slightly expensive but not made for a lunch deal with drink and snack combo

Great food and a lovely deli. Be it the standard sandwiches or make your own, it is a welcome change and massive upgrade to your supermarket sarnies or even pret.

I have visited more than once and I enjoyed my visit. The staff were friendly even to the children. The first day I visited, they gave my kids sandwiches. The place is well located, tidy, spacious and fully stocked. The atmosphere is great for the products and it’s services. Their service was superb and amazing. Their food was also nice and recommended.

Popped in here for the first time today and, I'm glad to say, I'd 100% come back again! A lovely, young, male member of staff helped me and my Mom out when we had an issue with the self-service coffee machine and instead made my Mom a fresh coffee, which was so helpful. Food was really tasty and good value for money. Place was spotlessly clean and it was a really lovely atmosphere inside.

Food was decent, service was really slow. Attended at 7:30 (1.5hrs after open) and none of the fresh juices were out, staff stood chatting. Ordered food for me and my wife which only needed assembling from pre-booked breakfast selection and this took nearly 15 minutes with no other customers waiting. The male staff member that served us seemed heavily sedated.

Dreadful. Ten members of staff but still waited ages to get a sandwich made even though i was the only one in the queue. Staff looked like they were on a day trip from school. No urgency. Having a little chat with one another. One had a taste of the meat that was on the end counter. Disappointing as used to love Philpotts and thought their sandwiches were the best. To top it off was charged £5 for a boring egg mayo sandwich which didn't taste the best as wasn't done with proper mayonnaise. Just a cheaper version. Won't be going back!!

I absolutely love this place, such a great variety of quality food and fresh af. This is one of the only places I don't mind walking into with a firm idea of what I want to eat and walk out something completely different, infact that's the best expense of the visit. Definitely visit this place you won't be disappointed.

Nice place bright and tidy very spacious and have a seating area good choice off wraps sandwiches cakes ect and can make your own sandwiches to your taste staff very helpful and welcoming nought was too much and went out there way and I had excellent services

Over priced sandwich and jacket potatoes. Standard bread nothing special. Better off going to other places in colmore. Gregg's is better and they make more of a effort and worth your money

Just what Birmingham needed... another Philpotts. Such poor value for money it's unreal. Paid £6.25 for a tiny hot chicken wrap with hardly any fillings. This place makes Pret seem like good value for money.

All you need on the go! Whenever I come to Birmingham I rely on Philpotts for lunch and they never fail me. Great options whether pre packed or freshly made - that and the team are really friendly.

Brilliant place, variety of food available, choices and quality of food is amazing. Very clean. Staff polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again.

I have fond memories of Philpotts. An upmarket salad and sandwich purveyor. I popped my head into their Colmore Circus branch after seeing artisan coffee advertised on their upmarket sign. I was surprised to see a La Marzocco espresso machine on the counter. A mark of quality. I was not disappointed with my oat milk flat white. The staff were humble and chatty. The seating was perfect for a quick bite, or in my case, a sip of black golden.

Cold bake beans , had short time on hand to deal with it sadly they are getting one start , however atmosphere 8/10 , service at till 9/10 , value for money 8/10 well done please ensure your food is served hot/warm

Had breakfast there a few months ago when doign some work in Birmingham. The coffee and breakfast was excellentt the staff were very friendly, it's just a pity it closes early afternoon. It offers breakfasts and a wide variety of sandwiches and drinks.

Went in today had a lovely breakfast had a good choice as staff ask what you want on you plate and how much which is great place is spotless clean and staff are very friendly I would definitely come back here again and I would recommend it highly

Well 1st time and last I'm afraid....chicken, onion and gravy baguette so disappointed. No onions and the gravy was non existent. Without the coffee I would have been chewing for hours. Come on it's a simple sandwich, my kids could have done a better job. I would have gone back to the shop but I was already off to my next job.....👎👎👎

Best sandwiches in Brum This chain of sandwich shops is excellent, they make the best hot and cold sandwiches fresh every day and the most amazing soups. Would highly recommended visiting Philpotts for lunch, simply the best!

Surprised I didn't know about this place sooner considering it's just around the corner from the courts. Great for a coffee or thick crust toast when you've skipped breakfast early morning. Nice and clean venue, fresh food made in front of you. I will definitely be sneaking in more work breaks to this place.

These places are always good. Off the shelf food or freshly made sandwiched available. The hot food counter always looks tasty from roasts to paninis. Decently priced and always swift service.

Super food selection with lots of choice. The home made porridge is a favourite, with a choice of syrup or raisins. Staff are lovely and friendly

They are brilliant! Excellent variety of food and service is second to none. We use weekly for our meeting lunch deliveries and they are fantastic, always on time and variety to suit every need!

Decent range and quality, but nothing special whatsoever

Great range of food and a popular place. Service is a bit confusing if you haven't been there before. I wanted a hot sandwich and a coffee. Queued at the front, paid and then got sent to the back of the cafe to get served the food (but they don't give you a receipt to tell the servers at the back what you have paid for). Then I returned to the front to collect my drink, but you are mixing with the people queuing for new transactions. Good place, good products, the staff are friendly but the process is awkward

First time visiting. Guy that served us kept rolling his eyes. I had a cup of tea which was bought over to the table. I asked if there was a spoon and was handed a plastic alternative. Burning myself in process trying to remove tbag. Diabolical cup of tea.

Excellent staff, excellent food. One staff member in particular went above and beyond but I unfortunately didn't get his name to mention him but all staff members are very friendly and welcoming.

This is a fabulous little place, gorgeous freshly made food prepared to your liking in front of you. All staff are so friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my lunch breaks!

Very convenient for a quick coffee in between accounting lectures if you're studying in the BPP centre next door. They serve a wide range of sandwiches and roast food which is pretty tasty. Service could be a bit quicker

Want a quick lunch and looking for a good salad or sandwich, Philpotts is a great place to look for it when you in Birmingham next time. The salad was really amazing. And the service fast.

Overpriced and crowded but if you work in one of the buildings next door, you can't get much closer

Not the best with regards to hygiene, no gloves, asked for bacon with little fat and the server pulled out the fat without washer her hands from previous task. Asked for a flat white and got a frothy coffee. Ok if you aren't fussed about what type of coffee you get. Also noticed the cloth being used to wipe surfaces down was very dirty. Don't think I'll be returning.
