Frankie & Benny's in Birmingham

I found the waitress rude as she just did our bill and didn’t ask if we had any vouchers when we can to pay so when we did get the bill it was more than what we should of paid I challenged her about it when she said he hadn’t showed her the voucher then she went to check with a manager even though my partner told her it was a birthday voucher he had we won’t be returning for a while as we had to send the one meal back the manhattan calzone back I think the waitress that served us tonight needs more training on her customer service each time we have been it’s always been a problem with paying the bill x

Nice place, better than some of their other branches in Birmingham, which have now closed. Food was great. Everyone enjoyed.

What has happened to this place? I used to frequent Rubery,Frankie and Bennys, regularly (about 10 years ago) and it was fantastic value for money and atmosphere. Now it has no atmosphere and although the value for money is probably still okay, the quality of the food is not. I'm sad to say. Cheap ingredients and the appearance wasn't great! The waiting staff are doing their best, but they also seem defeated and mostly unenthusiastic about being there! We had to ask for food we had ordered that was missing multiple times. It wasn't like it was busy either, maybe 6 or 8 other people in the restaurant. I really hope that the place can pick up to how it used to be as I have many great memories of the older version of Frankie and Bennys.

Aimee was very personable and engaging with our entire party and even got the kids enjoying themselves. She was very accommodating with my specific dietary choices and I ended with a delicious meal.

Went here on a groupon deal. Great value with the deal and food was great.

The atmosphere was awful, the place was so quiet, empty, the music was not what it used to be, the staff were lovely, but the quality on everything else has hit rock bottom.....sorry guys you used to be a great place to dine at but I won't be going back ☹️

Came in for brunch with a 40% off voucher. Anais served us as she has done the last few times and as usual, was very friendly and attentive. Food was of good quality and well presented, unfortunately the place was lacking an atmosphere but we appreciate it was a Monday lunchtime. Not sure we'd pay full price as without the 40% off it would have cost 70 odd quid for the three of us but otherwise it was good value for money. Overall we had good service, thanks to Anais

Good food, we had the Calzones, good service for the staff here and easy to get parked by the restaurant and get free parking.

Came in for a rapid pre cinema pizza, For a chain restaurant it was reasonably decent, the margarita better than the meat feast, I feel it just lacked authentic ingredients and uses frozen bases. I'd guess. The malbec was fantastic and the service was perfect

Exit door was open a lot for the delivery drives. I spent most evening cold with my coat on. Food was ok.

We arrived for lunch ,it was early and obviously quiet,the staff were polite and friendly,the only downside was having to wait a long time between courses even when it was quiet I would imagine the wait would be far longer later in the day

Came here a few nights ago after bowling, was rushed to order food as the chefs wanted to go home, but the lad with glasses that seated us was very friendly, unfortunately I didn't catch his name.

The food is as good as you get for these types of restaurants. It's nice and you'll enjoy it, but its not memorable. However the staff were really nice and friendly. And the music was nice. Place was clean etc

It has been a while since visiting Frankie & Benny's and wanted to take advantage of the cinema deal with 30% off. Firstly, the waitress Ellie who took care of us during our visit went above and beyond and she is a real credit to the restaurant. I could not fault the service from Ellie at all, which was brilliant with no issues. I remember it used to be a lot busier here and can see why it has lost its appeal in today’s cost of living crisis. The menu options have decreased quite a lot and unfortunately so has the quality. Most of the food is just reheated, no different to what you would get in Weatherspoon’s these days, however they continue to charge high prices. I can see why they have brought in the cinema offer but it’s just not going to cut it in the long run. It has been a slow decline for Frankie & Benny's, I cannot see them competing with the likes of Hickory's which is a similar price but much better quality and freshness. The meal I had was nice, but it was just simple items like chips, chicken wings and ribs and the price was £30 just for that! I would never pay that full price without the discount as I could have gotten it all from Aldi for just under a tenner. I hope Frankie & Benny's find a way to stay relevant but I wouldn't be returning in a hurry as it currently stands.

We had really lovely food and the restaurant was decorated nicely for Christmas. The atmosphere was good even though it wasn't super busy. What made it really special was our server Ellie who managed to be really helpful and friendly and attentive without being overbearing and she was so good. Honestly she was an absolute star ⭐

Food .... Pasta was awful, watery and obviously heated up. Maybe from frozen. Pizza tasted like it was frozen and had a taste of plastic. Chicken burger was apparently ok but a bit slimy. Chips cold. Took a whole 10 mins to cook all this btw. Top dollar prices for the type of restaurant too. Won't be back. I'd rather go to maccys and that's saying something.

If you're ordering from Uber Eats avoid this place. I ordered £40 worth of food and it was dissapointing, the pasta dishes I ordered were bland (unseasoned) and the ratio of the actual filling to pasta is ridiculous. Not to mention I ordered 6 Sticky BBQ chicken wings and only recieved 5 of them. Seems to me as, if you order online this restaurant puts minimal effort into the service and gets lazy. Can't comment on the restaurant as a whole though as I've been there before as a child (over 10 years ago) and the food was decent back then (hence why they haven't got 1 star despite this awful experience). It's honestly a shame.

I had not been frankie & bennies in a long time. The atmosphere when they play Happy Birthday and you see a child's face lights up and their cake comes out. But yes big but , food terrible, I would suggest they get a new cook because they are no chef. Cocktails are good. Food was dry and luke warm and overcooked. Pasta no flavour. Just really sad, that place was below par. Might be okay someday, but today was not one of those. Service was great, the girl serving lovely.

We visit here regularly as we only live down the road. The service is always great and we've never had any problems with the food. Pretty quiet during the week but can get busy over the weekends.

We went in the day on a Sunday 11th aug 2024 for my daughter’s birthday, we were met with a lovely Kate moss looking waitress called Courtney, she seemed very stretched with the amount of service she was having to do on her own but done everything timely, efficiently and exactly as we wanted. I’m an awkward sod as I’m on keto and Courtney made sure the chefs done everything I asked taking my dietary requirements in to consideration. She asked twice whether anyone had allergies ( to be sure to be sure) and when it came to bringing out my daughters cake went all out with the music and even danced for us. An absolutely amazing waitress Courtney was for us today and we are so happy with our visit to frankie and bennys for my daughters birthday. The food all came in a timely manner, and all really well orchestrated with my keto diet requirements carried out in full. The bill: for 6 of us to eat , drinks , puddings for the kids 78quid. Not bad at all for all 6 of us to go away full and happy. Overall a good review. Well done to all at Frankie and Bennys rubery

would be 5 starts because of Sean, he’s so nice and the reason I would return! I hope someone higher up sees this because he’s so nice had a laugh , i’ve been here multiple times and have had issues before with a previous server called ellie, we ordered cheesy garlic bread and she slammed the plate on the table, but it isn’t a major deal and moved on but it is nice here and good servers in general especially Aimee been here before and she’s nice and had a laugh

Really enjoyed the food, there was a slight mix up with delivery as your sat nav kept taking the driver to a different address but he was very courteous and got to us only a couple of minutes later. Will be ordering again.

Worst experience in a restaurant in all my life . Staff were rude from moment we walked in , got our drinks and starters took 45 minutes and then another 45 minutes wait for our main . Starters were awful no flavour and overcooked . Mains didn’t come as ordered and when questioned they tried to take it off our bill rather than replace . Undercooked chicken on our mains made us sick . Sarcastic gestures from staff as we left to make things even worse . Will NEVER be coming back again , stay away from this place . 13.05.2024

Friendly staff, but food uninspiring. Calzone extremely large but bland. Putting meatballs and a bolognese type sauce in a calzone does not work.

Me and my kids love it there. The food, the service and the atmosphere always great. Today my son also enjoyed the happy birthday song and the dessert 🍨. Wasn’t my thing in the past but now is and to my surprise my usually shy son asked for it himself. Sean and the rest a big thank you for making it a special outing for us!

Service was a little over exaggerated the waiter was a little false he was full on when ordering trying to push the most expensive like doubling up on drinks or having another but when it come to paying we had to wait around the food was well over priced £17 for a double cheese burger was definitely not worth it but we kind of expected to pay more than normal So that was no surprise the cutlery was left in a pot on the table where anyone could have fingered dropped or even used the stack of menus/ kids colouring pics were re-used so all in all an expensive meal that wasn't worth that much and I feel the hygiene was not up to scratch.

We came on 18th January for my 40th birthday, booked as a surprise for me and my whole family showed up along with several friends, so we were a large group with several small children. We were served by Sean who was genuinely lovely and amazing - from the moment we walked in, he greeted us warmly, fetched us some drinks, he was friendly and accommodating throughout the whole evening. The food was lovely, hot and fresh with steak cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed the donut birthday cake as well! There were a few problems with the restaurant apparently being short staffed that evening and technical problems with a new til/ordering system but Sean handled the whole thing very professionally with good grace and humour and we were delighted with his fabulous customer service and hospitality. Thank you, Sean, for making my big 4-0 a fantastic night to remember, you are a star!

Food was very good. The team were great at making it special for our sons birthday. The team sang HBD a few times tonight and each time they gave it 100%.

I visited Frankie & Benny’s last Saturday (6th January) with my friends. We sat on table 28 and were served by the lovely Aimée. She was so bubbly and friendly. The food came quickly and everything was done with a smile. :)
