Off the beaten track but well worth the journey. Was going to stop elsewhere but this place looked good and was dog friendly. Farmhouse Ploughman’s, a regular Ploughman’s and 2 jacket potato were all amazing. Cannot fault the food, service and location. Best Farmhouse Ploughman’s I’ve ever had, so we spoke to owner after to let her know how pleased we all were and she seems very pleased.

Salad was disappointing. The feta not at all crumbly or feta-flavoured, too few walnuts, a LOT of beetroot a small amount of mixed leaves and absolutely no dressing. There was what appeared to be balsamic and olive oil on the table. On closer inspection that was not the case. The vinegar was very harsh and I couldn't work out what the oil was except it wasn't even poor olive. I felt as though I was eating from a jar of pickled beetroot. Not an experience I will repeat - so to speak. The panini were as you would get anywhere. Again, served with the same sad and naked side salad. It's such a shame that, with such a lovely location and attached to an interesting visitor attraction, this café can't do a bit better than this ho-hum offering.

Called in for a light lunch . Nice surroundings, pleasant setting , Not busy at all, Food menu freely available, but no drinks menu , when I asked for one I was told it was on the table , which it was not so had to ask again, Staff seemed ok , but no please or thank you when I ask how much the bill was or when I paid. Food was average at best , I had a ciabatta Brie bacon and cranberry this took a fair time to arrive ,and the roll was stale and bone dry , The salad was very small with one cherry tomato cut into four . Lovely mocha though, But very disappointed with the food .

We have been to the Lemon tree on many occasions but this may well be out last. 2 Paninies took 45 minutes, 1 was wrong filling and both were underdone. My wife complained and they were sent back. When they returned they 1 was so hard to be inedible and the other was very hard. The young girl serving was very pleasant.

Friends and I enjoyed a jubilee themed afternoon tea at the Lemon Tree, I booked in advance and communication between myself & Jolene was spot on. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Our drinks order was taken promptly & our food followed suit. Everything was perfect and so prettily presented. We had many onlookers & comments admiring the offerings. The cafe was busy but not in your face, such a nice feel to the place. We will definitely return. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon

It didn't seem that busy when we ordered two coffees but it took about 20 minutes for them to be brought to us! We looked at the menu but decided not to order for two reasons, we didn't fancy waiting for it to be prepared, and secondly the cost! Very expensive! Cheese on toast, for example, cost £8. And that would have been a snack, not a proper meal! So, although we like the pleasant staff, the layout and location of the Lemon Tree Cafe, we decided to take our custom elsewhere.

I cycle for thousands of miles each year in Somerset, visiting loads of tea rooms. In my opinion this is up there with the best. The food is always prepared to the highest standard and the staff are always polite and friendly. I'm very fussy about coffee, but love the coffee they do here. I was very surprised to see the review headed "Spend An Hour To Have A Sandwich". I think the author must have visited another place called the Lemon Tree.

We ordered a sandwich between us as we planned to have a sweet afterwards. The Cafe was not busy, three people at times in kitchen. Waited 35 minutes then asked where our sandwich was, was coming out we were told. Couple who had only been there 10 minutes received there sandwich to later find it was ours. Nobody came out to apologize for the long wait or mix up in who got what, when there was hardly anybody in the cafe. We owned A Bar Restaraunt for many years. The Owner needs to get a Grip Fast before the Hopefully Busy Season Kicks in For Them. Good Luck.

Had lunch here today, 26-5-21, and really enjoyed Gluten free toasted sandwiches and Indulgent Chocolate Brownie ( it was almost like eating fudge Yummy ) with a lovely pot of tea. Excellent value at £19 for the lot. Smashing service and sat in the sun. After this long Pandemic it was a joy to receive good service and high quality Gluten free food. We will return.

After messaging via Facebook to enquire what they offered in vegan cakes, I had a friendly & prompt reply. I ordered 4 raspberry vegan croissants that were baked fresh the following morning for me to collect at a time to suit me via take away. Jolene advised me to warm them slightly, that they would taste like a warm donut 🍩 she wasn’t kidding, they were amazing, so delicious 😋. Excellent friendly service and superb pastries, will definitely be ordering again. 😀 Thank you

This is a pleasant cafe serving good food, but can be a little on the expensive side. The scones are very good with different varieties on offer. Gluten free cakes are always available and are very tasty. Outside seating is available if weather permits. I always enjoy the coffee it is good quality and strong. Well worth a visit. We didn’t stay at the hotel but had Afternoon Tea there which this review is about! Poor service as waiters seem to have no idea how to serve. We were rushed to pay as they were finishing for the day. We were not offered what type of tea to have. One of us asked for topping up the water glass while the other two got ignored! They had no knowledge of the place either given it’s a building with some history! A refreshing conversation was with the gardener who has good knowledge of the place, but unfortunately it was too late.
