The food was delicious, the service has been excellent and the place is wonderful. Both the accommodation and the food have been very much to our liking. Without a doubt, we will repeat!

Well located, pleasant atmosphere, friendly waiters, reasonable prices and we ate well.

We dropped in for a pint after a lovely day on Skye, the welcome was great even just for a drink. We decided to eat there a few days after our visit and booked on line for our table and time slot which was just as well. From the time of arrival the place was busy at 5pm ! We ordered drinks and chose a Langoustine starter and haddock and chips. You have to have seafood when you are that close to the harbour. All the staff we spoke to were welcoming and made such a fuss of Minnie the border collie and even gave her treats too. The food arrived in a timely fashion even though they were busy. The langoustines were gorgeous with an hint of garlic in the butter so not too overpowering letting the flavour shine through, and piping hot. The haddock to follow was longer than the plate and the batter was so light and delicate. The fish tasted fresh and the chips were crispy. We all enjoyed or meal and would recommend here. You need to book in advance or be disappointed and turned away. Well done guys

A very nice place to dine with good views. We called without a reservation but they immediately made room for us and we were able to have dinner in peace.

Really handy location just over Skye Bridge....basic room with shared shower room. Expensive cafe but can't blame them as they have a captive audience. Food was good though....just pricey for a place with a very basic set up...

We have just left here after a beautiful evening meal. We booked a table which we realised was essential as unfortunately lots of people turned up without booking and and were turned away. They missed a treat. The meals were filling and delicious and there was a great choice of drinks, including some local ales and beers. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We are on holiday staying in the lovely village of Kykeakin so it was lovely to be able to walk there and back. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.5 stars all round

This place was a saviour for us during our visit. It was almost 930 pm and the Kitchen of all the shops in the vicinity were closed. We were famished and desperately looking out to eat when we found this place and immediately felt welcome. Given the time there were few dishes available and we just ordered it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was vey tasty and the legends of Saucy Mary was explained on the walls. I would definitely come back again

We fell into this restaurant solely based on the name. It looked like a good pub and we needed a solid meal after a day of driving. This was a great choice, and I consider it one of my top three favorite restaurants in Scotland. The steak pie was phenomenal and the sticky toffee pudding was top-notch. I especially loved the little crumble they added. Pure bliss. *Side note, we (my travel group of 5) ranked this at number 2 for the best sticky toffee pudding, when compared to 10 restaurants, spread across six cities, over two countries. It was my personal favorite and held the top spot for 95% of the trip. They have a phenomenal chef and the lady working the restaurant was witty and fun to interact with. This will be a staple location for me when I return to Scotland. Worth a trip for sure.

I ordered a veggie burger. I got given a meat one. Apologies were made and I received a veggie one that tasted of fish. I guess it had been cooked on the same grill area as the fish. It was also really stodgy. I couldn't eat it. I was given my money back for the burger and something else we ordered. The waitress was really apologetic.

5 stars for the welcome just before the kitchen closing time (9.30pm) and the kindness. The charred "stone" passed off as a hamburger in the middle of the sandwich is inedible...

Pretty decent breakfast. We came here outside of the hotel and so paid for the breakfast. We had both the Scottish and the vegetarian breakfasts. They weren't mind blowing but were great starts to our day and satisfy our breakfast cravings. I enjoyed the vegetarian more (even though I'm not a vegetarian myself). Its probably because there was spinach and the haggis/black pudding and meat substitutes were pretty tasty. On the Scottish side, the haggis was better than black pudding. You also get free drinks included in the meal.

Very tasty fish soup. The beef stew is also very good. The delicious salmon.

We had been waiting for at least 10 minutes when somebody takes our order. But nobody did. Staff just served other visitors but not us. I don’t know why.

We were a family of 15 people and as a result, we had difficulty finding restaurants that would accept us all together at the end of the evening, after our long sightseeing visits in the region; even our hotel didn't want us for dinner 😔. At Saucy Mary we were so well received (and fed!) that we returned the next 2 evenings! The staff is friendly and efficient, and the dishes tasted were plentiful and succulent. A big congratulations and a big thank you to the whole team! Good food, friendly staff We had the beef balls and chicken salad, there weren't many choices of main meals besides the beef burger, also we tried the sweet apple was good, the strawberry cranachan wasn't meet the expectations, hot and normal taste. Wishing to have other choices in the future since the restaurant is the best in the area Good food, friendly staff. Food options were limited and most of them were vegetables. We took meatballs and a grilled chicken salad, which was acceptable to satisfy hunger and nothing more. Then we tried the apple dessert, which they served with ice cream, which was delicious and somewhat strange. We took the strawberries, and they were bad and spicy.

One of the few restaurants in town but they definitely so their best to provide you a good meal. Had a few meals here during a two-day stay and we left full and happy.

NO real ale anymore, hand pumps have been removed. Tap beer only, disappointing, CAMRA online good beer guide listing needs an update.

We stopped by here early one morning in advance of a day of hiking. The traditional breakfast was delicious and was exactly what we needed prior to a day outdoors. The staff was quite friendly and the atmosphere was overall very pleasant. The views also did not disappoint.

I give the service 5 stars, but the last day it was less because they brought us dinner mixed 3 dishes at a time from one person, the other two diners were not served. But we had so much fun and with so much laughter and 50 sorrys from the waiter that it deserves a good grade. The mussels, the soup of the day, and the salmon and smoked mackerel in salad, everything is delicious.

Had a reservation and we were served promptly. Our party had the Steak and Ale Pie, Vegetarian Haggis Croquettes, the Padron Peppers, and the Sweet Potato Soup. Everything was excellent!

An excellent breakfast prepared by an Italian-Brazilian chef

Disappointed. Just a simple tourist trap. Came for dinner, got drinks right away but had to wait 50 minutes for our burgers. The food wasn’t worth the money. No atmosphere at all.

I'm not going to say I didn't like my room.. as it was very clean and spacious.. but it did however have a wierd chemical/ fuel type smell?? Hubby thought it could be the smell of fresh decoration..however... I did not like the saucy mary pub/restaurant . I felt very uncomfortable with the way the bar man looked and sneered with the lady who worked there when we came in and asked for drinks. Put us off of eating there... along with the sticky tables. The food might be good..but I wasn't game enough to try.

The steak pie wasn't what we expected, the meat was really dry unfortunately.

Very warm welcome by a waitress who speaks French. We ate very well. Stiff service. The staff were very cheerful which was nice.

We waited over two hours and they never served our food. First time I've ever left a restaurant for not being served our meals. It was awful.

There were 4 of us, one ordered a starter which arrived with her main course and one other main course, after about 20 minutes we asked the waitress what had happened to the other 2 main courses, without a word of apology she said I will check, she came back a couple of minutes later to ask what we had ordered then went away. Ten minutes later one more main course arrived, after a few minutes I asked a waitress if a manager was available and explained what the problem was, we did not receive any apology until a few minutes later when the manager arrived and I explained the problem again, she offered to give us the missing meal for free and 4 free desserts which we accepted, the missing main course turned up about 5 minutes later and the manager came back to say that after talking to the owner it would now only be a free main course and two desserts, what happened to letting a manager manage the restaurant. We don't think we will be eating there again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to eat there unless they enjoy terrible service

So-so. I don’t know if the waiter is afraid of society or is discriminating. He avoided me. In short, don’t expect anything from British cooking. I ate two mussels and it didn’t taste good. Putting fennel in the tomato soup was really a bonjour.

Busy wee pub restaurant overlookingthebay. We had a burger and a chicken salad. Both were OK but overpriced, The chicken salad consisted of a small grilled breast on a bed of salad with some dressing. The burger was as described. We shared a Chranachan for desert which was nice but lacking in whiskey. Staff were lovely and told us all about the legend of saucy Mary.

One of the few restaurants in the town of Kyleakin. Correct place without pretensions, correct and plentiful dishes.

Went there with 2 friends. We are of different nationalities but all of us agree that food here is delicious. I had mussels and I have to admit that the dish is the best mussels I have so far in my life.

We took a multiple room because there were 4 of us, so they gave us one with two bunk beds, the beds were not comfortable and there was no place to turn around without bumping into your roommate, in short, we will not return.

I always post positive reviews for deserving restaurants. This is my first negative review. We had 7:30 reservations and arrived on time and were seated. Food ordered, drinks and appetizers came reasonably. Then, we were forgotten. People who arrived after us were served and left. We asked several times about our dinner order starting at 9:00 and were simply told the kitchen was backed up. 2 1/2 hours later, and a third request about our order with the promise we were next, then the next order going to the table next to us (that table had turned twice while we were there) we paid for our drinks and left at 10:00. We got a “we’re sorry” but that was it.

We had a cider there at the end of the day and breakfast Superb location at the entrance to Kyleakin and opposite the beach We were well received A little wait for breakfast but they do their best to manage the large crowds and everyone's requests We are on vacation, they are not and they are running around everywhere, a little patience and indulgence... 😊

We were surprised after being poorly received in the bar-restaurant further on, we opted for this small restaurant despite the lower rating. We were very well received despite the late hour and ate well (less fatty than usual) although a little expensive.

Restaurant very well located at the entrance to Skye. Smiling waitresses although overwhelmed, good food without being exceptional. We enjoyed it but way too expensive for the quality of the dishes offered, and other customers waited 2 hours before being served.

Arrived unexpected and on the off chance asked could we eat, very busy in there but they did find us a table I had burger and chips with cheese as an extra and my husband had the steak and ale pie and changed the mash for chips, very accommodating and pleasant staff, food was delicious and drinks too I personally would recommend eating here

Great place, history, atmosphere, souvenirs and the opportunity to see the monument

There are very few options available in Kyleakin and this is indeed a good spot. The service is great and all the staff are super friendly & cordial. Their breakfast spread is excellent (with options for different types of Scottish breakfast spreads, continental and other options). Food was tasty and very much appreciated. Owing to our food choices, dinner options felt a little limited though. We tried their Cullen skink, burger and lamb sausages with chickpea gravy. Burger wasn't great but the other dish was good. They have a lot of drinks options too. Would definitely recommend for the good service and great view of the waters while dining.

We had a very good evening in this restaurant with pleasant service and well-prepared dishes. I recommend for those who want to eat on the Isle of Skye!!!

We just arrived at 9:05pm and the kitchen was closed but they managed to serve us and the food was great! We had cullen skink soup, traditional stake, stout and ale pie, soup of the day (sweet potato, buttenut & leek) and pork! Thank you for everything!

Me ha parecido caro. Dos hamburguesas y dos pintas 50 £. La propina te la sugieren de cara al pagar, así que ha sido algo más. La comida estaba buena pero no como para ese precio. El bacon y el queso de la hamburguesa lo han cobrado aparte por 2 £ y 1,5 £ respectivamente.

The goat's cheese was vile, really quite disgusting. The steal and stout pie was so salty it was truly inedible, add in mash full of mustard and you get idea. This might have been bad but it was all cooked or reheated in a microwave, the plates were roasting and the food was too, we cancelledour dessert order. We met people who were looking for a recommendation to go eat just now and sent them to the Indian. Wasn't cheap either. Such a shame too as the staff are lovely

Was last here about 7 or 8 years ago and a lot has changed. The once quirky pub has rebranded into nice wee restaurant, keeping some flare of the old place. I honestly wouldn't recommend going here for food however. Nearly £19 for a bacon burger with chips. Was expecting something a bit high end for that price, but instead was served a burger drier than a rice cake left out in the sun in a brioche bun that I'm sure both came from the local supermarket. There was also only one slice of bacon (+£2 btw) and some mustard. No salad, pickles, tomato, onion etc, things I would normally expect when paying that price. 100% could have made better at home. Chips were pretty banging to be fair. Wouldn't also recommend trying to go in for just a drink, as the venue will prioritise diners instead, even at later hours. Go to Haakon bar instead; food is nicer and more affordable

The place was the best available at short notice. The room was clean but the common areas are quite tired looking. Don’t bother with the classic Cullen Skink. It was watery and had a coating of oil on the top bizarrely. The salmon was over cooked and the veg limp. At breakfast (£14+) I helped myself to a small bowl of muesli to be told that wasn’t included. What the actual ? They forgot my main which took half an hour. Then they had the audacity to charge an extra £1.50 for a slice of toast because had had muesli unbelievable.

Well had a fantastic 3 nights stay 3rd -6th October and honestly could not fault it room and shower room in accommodation spotless and the staff were so friendly our dog cj loved her breakfast sausage every morning 👋 would highly recommend 👍👍👍

Worst Hostel in the UK, yu cannot even cook here, there's only a microwave and a toaster. Everything is dirty, rooms are overpriced. AVOID IT !

I can’t fathom why this restaurant garnered such low reviews on Google. My husband and I were here for dinner last evening and we found both food and service to be great. This restaurant appears to be one of two choices within Kyleakin. We were there on an errand, so we didn’t make a booking. At 7pm, the restaurant was close to full but the owner made it a point to try to get a table for us even then. Having been turned away at other establishments before for not booking, we really appreciated the gesture. We weren’t particularly hungry, so we ordered the cullen skink and the super salad with halloumi. The cullen skink was freshly prepared and chockful of potatoes and leeks, but it was the super salad with the deliciously panfried halloumi, chickpeas, quinoa, oats and rice over salad that surprised us with how tasty it was. We also ordered their chocolate & caramel torte with vanilla ice-cream and the strawberry cranachan. Both were good, but I really enjoyed the chocolate & caramel torte. It was rich, creamy and chocolatey and the raspberry compote added a dimension of tartness that balanced out the flavour. Even though they were busy and running at full capacity, they did their best to tend to everyone in a friendly and efficient manner. Our food and drinks all came very quickly with little wait time.

Pasé un segundo día al volver de mi circuito, y no sé si por ser domingo, o por cualquier otra cosa, fue bastante más caro, y pidiendo la misma hamburguesa que 5 días antes, esta era casi la mitad que aquella. Una lástima!!. Sigue teniendo un bonito ambiente.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Es war sehr, sehr voll. Daher leider nicht ganz so gemütlich. Das Personal ist super nett und hilfsbereit.
