The Lazy Leek in Cardiff

Visited on my last trip to Cardiff when visiting a friends. I am always very critique on food but this place receives my best review, I will happily visit there next time I'm in Cardiff, every one should know about this place! Please be open longer, you will have more customers!

Amazing food. Great flavours. Prompt service. Polite staff. The patties were as good as a juicy meat burger ! No better accompaniment to Pipes beer.

Very delicious food, I recommend. I had one of the burgers and the cauli wings and it was incred! The people were lovely too.

This has to be one of the best hidden spots in Cardiff. Nestled down a small alleyway is wooden hut serving some of the best food in the city. The dirty fries and burgers are amazing and the cauli wings are unbeatable but 'The Italian Job' has a special place in my heart. The pesto..so tasty, the risotto patty..so creamy, the veg..so fresh. When you go and this is on the menu, get it!!

The title says it all. I savoured every bite and it held together perfectly which doesn’t happen for all veggie/vegan burgers. It was so aesthetically pleasing, incredibly tasty and satisfying. Well worth visiting.

Best chocolate cheese cake and brownies ever! Can’t believe the cheesecake was vegan and the brownies were soft squishy and absolutely delicious.

Love their burgers but had 2 × brownies yesterday that were dry, floury, hard and tasteless (stale?) Not like a brownie at all really. Disappointed.

The Lazy Leek has amazing vegan food. We have been here many times as a family with two children. None of us are vegan but this didn’t matter as the food is always out of this world! Such friendly service- Jess and Sam (the owners) & the rest of the staff are very welcoming. I’m gluten free (coeliac) and they made sure that everything I ordered was suitable for me to eat. Definitely the best place to eat in Cardiff. We particularly love the Italian Job and Cowless burger. The dirty fries and cauliwings are delicious too. The burgers are always nicely presented. It really is a hidden gem in a lovely location, King’s Yard. We come back here time and time again!

After hearing consistently good things about The Lazy Leek and being stuck in the house over lockdown, we picked up the phone to place an order! Given that food establishments have had to adapt to these crazy times it was so easy to place an order. We phoned the shack and were given a time to collect our order. We paid contactless and the food was piping hot from some really friendly faces. As non-vegans we went with an open mind and I have to say we weren’t disappointed at all. In fact if all vegan food tastes this good then we could be potential converts! The Cowless Burger was delicious. The chips were very good too. We took the food over to Llandaff Fields and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and fab take away. It was a change of well needed scenery! Can’t wait to go back to try a different burger. I’ve eaten here loads of times and every time it’s been amazing! The menu is always being updated and changed which means you can have something new almost every time! Sam and Jess (the owners) are great! Their passion for their product means you always end up adding a slice of the best homemade lemon cake or a delicious side to your order. If you’re in Cardiff the Lazy Leek is a must for lunch, dinner (hangover breakfast) I can’t wait for you guys to be fully open again so that we can enjoy the full experience of the Lazy Leek! 🤙🏽🥬

Visited on their first weekend back open and was delighted to find that the food and service was as amazing as it was pre lockdown. Have been craving their burgers and dirty fries for months now, sooooo happy to have them back. Even if you're not a vegan you just have to try them, I promise you'll love the food and the staff!😘

Hands down the best burgers in Cardiff and I’m not even a vegetarian or vegan. The food is full of flavour and the brownies are honestly the nicest ones I’ve ever had. Friendly service too! Highly recommended.

I couldn't count on both hands how many times I've been to Lazy Leek. They serve fantastic crowd pleasing burgers and sides. All fresh, creative and plant based. I'm addicted to their cauliflower wings!

This is our favourite place to go for food, I can never decide which burger to have because they’re all amazing. Lush chips and cakes too. My husband and son and proper carnivores and they love it too. Can’t wait to go back.

Hands down some of best food you could hope to find in Cardiff. The friendly, great service is matched by the food. Beautiful location in kings road yard, would recommend to anyone.

The food at Lazy Leek is outstanding. We love it so much we had them cater our wedding. Cannot wait to be back at the shack post lockdown. Together with pipes brewery this makes the perfect weekend visit.

Yummy new burger - the Bruce Pea! Packed full of protein and tastiness! New Bolly Wings are a must-try too! As always, great food, great service and a great atmosphere at the Yard.

Just dropped by for a burger, and had the Nacho Libre. Very good, tasty, and have bought some cauli wings to take home, tried one, tasty and crunchy. Yum all round!

The food here is amazing. 'The Cowless Boy' burger remains my favourite, but they are all lovely. The 'Dirty Fries' & 'Cauliflower Wings' are excellent.It doesn't matter if you are vegan or not, these burgers are the tastiest you'll try.Sam, Jess and all the staff are also very friendly and sociable. (Jess also makes superb birthday cakes to order.)Try this place, it'd fab. Worthy of note; Pipes brewery is at the end of the yard selling fab local brewed beer to wash down your food. There is also a coffee shop and bakery in the same yard.Perfect.

I have long classed vegan food in the ‘virtuous’ category (I.e boring, probably quite healthy, and ultimately unsatisfying).

I had the special of the day (a tofu Katsu burger) and it was without a shadow of doubt the best burger I have ever had - meat or otherwise. I don’t normally go for veggie food because I find it can sometimes be tasteless but this was packing a huge amount of flavour - and I tried what the rest of my party had chosen too, and everything on the menu was 10/10. The Lazy Leek is located in a really cute little alleyway with a microbrewery at the end and alongside an incredible bakery and coffee shop. There’s a small farmers’ market there every Saturday but this is well worth a visit any day of the week. It’s a real hidden treasure! I cannot recommend this place highly enough for couples, families or groups of friends looking for somewhere to hangout with a hot drink or a beer to enjoy an absolutely banging meal. Definitely give it a try - you will 100% be visiting again!

As a non vegan, one of the tastiest lunches ive had to date. Absolutely delicious. Great to grab a pipes beer next door too!

I’m not a vegan, but I love trying new foods so my friends recommended this amazing place as they live nearby. It is INCREDIBLE.

This is the best vegan place I've ever been to. Period. I've had all their burgers (they add new ones to the menu every couple of months). My favourite is the Italian Job, and I usually order it with the dirty fries and cauliflower wings. The cauli wings are out of this world, they're so amazing, so crispy and the right amount of spice! The dirty fries are so delicious too, and big portions - I recommend sharing! I love the location, it's off a main rode and the "yard" also has a vegan brewery, a coffee shop and an independent bakery which does amazing bread. I honestly wait every week until Thursday just so I can come eat here. The staff are super friendly and the yard is amazing, especially on a sunny afternoon. 10/10

I’m no vegan, not even a veggie and yet this place is one of the all time greats! So utterly tasty. It’s a weekend treat to go grab a burger and sit in the lovely kings road yard enjoying the relaxed happy atmosphere.

I never thought I would enjoy a vegan burger as much as this. Didn’t miss the meat at all. The burger was amazingly tasty and super satisfying, which is exactly what you want. Wedges are really good too. Great little place. Staff are lovely.

Dirty fries should come with an health/ addiction warning from British chief medical officer - as they were flipping lovely.

Love love love the food at the Lazy Leek, best dirty fries and cauliwings in town! Kings Road Yard is a lovely place to hang out with a bakery, coffee shop and brewery all with vegan options, so you can grab a beer or coffee to go with your food. Can’t wait to try every single burger on the menu!

Came with the family and was greeted with a smile and great attitude. The lady was lovely and the food was great. Even my dad who is generally a meat eater and puts his nose up at anything else and pokes it polished it off. Keep up the good work !

I’ve been a big fan of Lazy Leek for a while. They catered my birthday party in December, and convinced even the most staunch meat eaters that vegan food could be utterly delicious.

As you may gather from the title I'm a big fan of the brownies - double yum! However, if the great selection of cakes doesn't appeal then I'm sure the 'dirty' fries, ( chips to anybody over 50), and burgers will. I should point out at this point that 'The Lazy Leek' supports a vegan ethos - but who cares. Good food is good food and these burgers hit the spot. Prices are very reasonable for the quality achieved and the staff are warm and welcoming. 'The Lazy Leek' fits in perfectly with the other food outlets in Kings Yard as well as the weekend markets and food fairs that take place there. Well worth giving them a try.

Their food is simply amazing. Not just the best vegan food, the best food full stop. Great tasting and run by lovely people too. Definitely worth a visit.

The lazy leek is far by my favourite place for burgers and dirty fries. The food and service is amazing. I have recommended all my family and friends who said it is the best Vegan food they have ever had. If you havnt already been GO GO GO.. you will soon be addicted like I am .Highly recommend!!

I’ve been to Lazy Leek a few times now and have never been disappointed. Despite not being a vegan, the food is absolutely stunning and very filling. I’ve also had the pleasure of trying their vegan cakes. Honestly the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. Vegan or not, it’s really worth going there. Kings Yard in Pontcanna is a fantastic location too. Highly recommended.

This vegan burger shack nestles in a little outdoor retail area shared with a lovely coffee shop, bakery and brewery. There are about four or five communal tables which seat 3 aside. The owners are friendly and the burgers are excellent! Highly recommended!

Popped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon and had the best burger I've had in Cardiff. Fresh and tasty ingredients and great service. Planning our next visit soon! :)

I’ve been following them on Instagram for a while so when I saw they’d got a burger shack i couldn’t wait to try them and we were not disappointed! My partner (non vegan) had the nacho libre and loved it and I (vegan) had the cowless and we shared the chips. It was so so good and we’ll be going back soon to try the others!

Being relatively new to veganism, I stumbled upon The Lazy Leek online when researching where to eat in Cardiff. Well, I was certainly not disappointed!

Decided to have a burger & chips after visiting the market. Glad I did it was the best burger I’d ever had & the chips were wonderful. Good luck guys
