The Laundrette in Manchester

Had a wonderful early evening meal. All the staff were wonderful. The cocktails and pizza were terrific. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Really nice food and cocktails. A nice meal tarnished by when our food was being taken away we asked if we could order another cocktail, and then were not seen for literally half an hour before we gave up and had to pay our bill at the counter. Bad service in the end… the waiter really let the chefs down

Loved this place. We sat outside as the sun was shining and the outdoor vibe is beautiful in a lovely location. Our server was brilliant so friendly and he was very good. I had the bbq chicken pizza which was delicious, and the coffee was good too - they have a good drinks menu Cinnamon swirl was amazing too!

Nice place and interesting, though nothing special, dishes. The indoor seating area was really loud. £4 for a diet coke which was watered down and definitely came from a fountain rather than a can or a bottle is outright ridiculous. £15 reservation cancellation fee — come on! And a 10%-discretionary service fee for two people? Yeah, too much, sorry.

Good coffee and hot chocolate with excellent marshmallows (toasted!) Rather pricey though.

Had a lovely meal last night at the launderette, I had the sea bass and it was beautifully cooked. I was one of a large, complicated party, and was very impressed by the smiling service and by our waiter Devon who really looked after us very well. Thank you

This is such a great spot for drinks and food alike! Our server Millie was great and super attentive, the drinks were great, I particularly recommend the laundrette bloody mary, it’s fabulous. The food was quick and lovely. We will definitely be back!

Great service from Sophie H. Cocktails are sooooo nice and a very cool concept. we got a big sharing cocktail that they lit on fire which was very cool. I also got some dough balls and bang bang cauliflower which was very nice.

Superb service! The lady that served us just went above and beyond - relaxing me in my embarrassed panic that my aging dog had had an accident. The lovely lady insisted for us to carry on with our reunion lunch and took care of it and even complimented us with glasses of Prosecco, adding an extra sparkle to a well deserved gurls weekend - will not be forgotten in a hurry, helps the salads were delicious too. Great team running it!

Really friendly place, and nicely quirky! Good was good and reasonable prices!

Second visit. Went for lunch on a Sunday in February. Booking is a must at busy times. Tables also available outside which have heaters. Ironically, inside was a little cool! Food and service were very good though. We had a lovely time and will definitely be going again.

Visited tonight for my daughters birthday. They accommodated 12 of us, for a last minute booking. The food was lovely and well priced too. The service was even better. The staff were so helpful and friendly. My youngest daughter made a new best friend with Mia, who was serving on the bar (and has now made me promise to return). Thanks for adding to a lovely evening.

Hosted a baby shower for a colleague here the other day and was totally blown away by the service and friendliness of staff! Mollie was our server and they went above and beyond for us to celebrate our momma to be. Can’t thank them enough - what a lovely place!! Such a fantastic vibe and really friendly staff.

I USED to love this place, which makes me really sad writing this review. The food has went downhill massively. The wait times are absolutely crazy and the past 3 times I’ve visited I’ve requested specific dietary requirements that were never met, even though staff assured me beforehand that they would be. This resulted (everytime) in having to sit and watch the other members of my group eat. The drinks are amazing however and they are quite promptly made (a tad overpriced let’s face it). The pizzas are also served uncut which results in us asking for a pizza cutter, which is never brought out with it. I also have a pet peeve when restaurants do not cut their pizzas for their customers as it makes our experience really laborious and difficult. I did always ask staff to have them cut and every time they arrived uncut. The staff are helpful and welcoming but do not seem to be able to effectively communicate with whoever is on the receiving end of making the order. I hope it improves, as I miss coming here.

My experience here was absolutely brilliant, and Britannia was willing to take her time in making sure our order was correct, she was very polite and was very work ethical showing passion and care with each order and every time she came to check on our table. Overall the experience here was fantastic and I will definitely be making a return !

I've visited the Laundrette twice now and both times were great. The food is delicious and the atmosphere/decor is lush. I ordered the mini truffle Mac n cheese, popcorn honey halloumi & the cauliflower wings with Korean sauce and an espresso martini to drink. The staff were very accommodating when we added more people to our party at the last minute. They were very attentive throughout our meal. I love it there. A great selection of food and drink! Highly recommend!

Had an amazing meal this evening with family. All food was perfect, Devon was our server and he was the perfect host friendly and attentive nothing was too much trouble. Cocktails were beautiful the Hot espresso martini was especially good! Highly recommend

I visited the laundrette and was served by Devon. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. Devon went above and beyond to make the evening a memorable night. Although I wasn’t a fan of the food itself the cocktails made up for it and Devon was very attentive and really made it a great experience.

Welcomed by great service and a cosy atmosphere, the Laundrette impressed us on a very rough Saturday. Good food and a warming presence. I’ve never had a a thicker napkin to wipe my face with which is a top notch bonus.

We had a great meal here on Sunday 20/10/2024 in the evening. The service was great. Lovely team especially Devon, who made a lot of effort for my partner’s birthday. The food was very nice and well presented.

Na teleurgesteld te zijn bij San Juan, even verderop in de straat, bij toeval terecht gekomen bij the Laundrette. Service een dikke 10! Het personeel gaf ons het gevoel dat er geen haast was, dit hebben we de afgelopen week in Engeland nog niet eerder meegemaakt. Overal heerst een gevoel van haast, snel je drankje en maaltijd naar binnen proppen en wegwezen. Nou hier niet. We hebben heerlijk een wijntje gedronken en wat hapjes gegeten op het terras. In een zeer prettige sfeer. Enig nadeel is dat je er bij het afrekenen achterkomt dat er al een vrij aanzienlijk bedrag aan service in de prijs wordt meegerekend. We hadden in gedachten om een flinke fooi te geven, dat hebben we hierdoor nagelaten. Echter is dit het enige verbeterpuntje.

It’s always lovely eating here. The atmosphere and staff are great. The food and service here is really good, and not too pricy either. The team always go out of their way to make eating there a comfortable and pleasurable experience. We had a really good night and the music and tempo is just right. Well done team especially Devon. You never disappoint.

Food is nice, but can be expensive based on previous visit and this visit. I spent £90 for 3 adults and 2 children (and the children were ordering from a kid's menu). Service very much depends on the person serving you. All staff are nice, the woman I saw today was lovely but some are more attentive than others, especially if you are in a back corner (previous visit).

The food was delicious. The servers Sophie K and Devan were beyond helpful, as were the kitchen. I am on a ridiculously restricted diet at the moment and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

I have been waiting a while to try this much hyped venue, and today we got a chance. Arrived at about 2pm and the young lady at the desk offered us an outside table which was not bad even in the freezing manchester conditions. The atmosphere outside is buzzing, the area is covered top and sides and the heaters add a pleasing, comfortable warmth. Menu is simple, pricy but has a good selection. We picked our starters and mains, now all we had to do was wait for some one to take our order. Well, we waited, and waited, and waited, while we waited waited and waited, we watched as several members of staff went round the tables asking diners if everything was OK if they needed anything else, and we watch as the tables were served their food. As we waited, waited and waited, we watched the tables next to us get served, we waited as we watched these tables get second drinks orders, we waited while each member of staff walked past us, we waited as we asked for someone's attention and we waited as we got ignored as if we were invisible. After 20 minutes of waiting, waiting and waiting, I said to my wife, let's give them one more chance.. that chance came and went when the table infront of us received their food, ordered more drinks and the staff member who was no more that 2 feet away from us ignored us again and walked off. Finally as we walked out we were greated by an elderly member of the team who for the first time asked if we needed anything, and as we explained how we waited, waited and waited, the manager arrived. To be fair the manager handled the situation well, but the excuses didn't justify the experience. Excuse 1: the girl on the desk is new, it's only her second shift. Sadly, as much as I sympathise with any new team member, it's not her fault, it's the restaurants fault for putting a new, inexperienced member of staff on the front line, moreso on probably their busiest day of the week. Excuse 2: it's very busy. Again, that's a poor excuse, being busy cannot explain customers being served while others are ignored. Again, I admire the manager stepping up, she even offered us to be resat and free drinks with our meal. The problem is, we raised a concern not to get anything free, but to highlight the failure of one of the key factors any restaurant should focus on, the experience. Many people visit restaurants and have a great experience but mediocre food, these customers normally return and give the place a second chance. Then you have those who visit and have a bad expeience and great food, most of them would not return, and in our case we had a poor experience that resulted in walking out without experiencing the food. Let's now put the competition into perspective, we crossed the road and on entering the lead Station we were sat down, handed menus, specials explained, drinks ordered and within 5 minutes food ordered. And all this is a place just as, if not busier than The launderette.

Absolutely lovely experience all round!! Devon was there to greet us on entry and he ensured that we had everything we needed. He was extremely friendly but professional. Devon went above and beyond to ensure our experience was a positive one; amending our booking to include another diner (at the very last minute on a busy Friday night), checking we were warm enough (and bringing us an extra heater) and providing his knowledge re the menu without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back soon!!

Every time I come here I have a five star experience. The staff are so friendly but not over bearing and the food is absolutely spot on, really good quality. Gorgeous wine and cocktails too. Big shout out to Devon (I think that was his name?) Who served me and my boyfriend, he was just fantastic and made our evening all the more enjoyable ☺️

An excellent all-around experience. Customer service was brilliant they even made me a fresh lemonade drink. The food was divine and so tasty. The sharing platter was enough for three of us and worth the money. I had the Korean pizza, and I was full quickly and was able to take it away.

Called in for a meal on the Saturday evening. A very busy place, booking might be advised. Had a couple of drinks to wash the food down.

Top quality food and really friendly service. We had a lovely mid week lunch at The Laundrette - the food was absolutely delicious (recommend the lamb pizza - so tasty and very different to anything I've had elsewhere) and the service was spot on - friendly and attentive without feeling like we were being rushed (in fact we spent the best part of 2.5 hours eating and chatting). The last time I went to The Laundrette was ten years ago - I won't be leaving it that long this time!

First time properly in Manchester and thought me and my partner would give this a try. Can’t recommend it enough! Great food, great prices and great service. Definitely will be coming back!

Great food and excellent service. Chris was great - very attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. One of our party was vegan and there was plenty of choice on the menu. We will definitely be back.

Had an amazing time. The food was filling and delicious. The cocktails were the highlight with unique presentation and perfect flavours.

We had great roasts on Sunday. Kiera was absolutely fantastic, looked like she was running everything almost single-handedly without any negative impact on service. Love launderette.

The food was really good and they have a lot of options here. They usually play music pretty loud so if you want to go somewhere quiet it's probably not here. I wasn't wowed but I enjoyed the meal.

Staff are awesome, lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately had one of the saddest roasts I've ever had, think I could have got a better one at spoons. Beef overdone and everything was just bland. Maybe roasts aren't their thing as the other food looked decent. Had chicken wings they were okay, bit on the small side but okay. Will deffo come back for drinks and a snack but not a roast!

Really lovely local feeling place, great atmosphere on a Friday night. After a long drive it was the tonic everyone needed. Clearly they place very high emphasis on customer service which was impeccable. Sophie was a star throughout, would definitely come again.

May I just say from the moment we stepped in Emma our waitress was amazing, she was a breath of fresh air and couldn't do enough for us we sat near the bar and the Mrs loved her bloody mary lol will be back very soon wonderful place

Considering that The Laundrette is No1 on Trip Advisor for Manchester, there was a lot of expectation which unfortunately was not met. Maybe our expectations were too high. Don't get me wrong, it was all very pleasant: food was fine and reasonably priced, cocktails were pleasant and quirky and the service was ok. There was however nothing exceptional about the whole evening. We were in Manchester for one night celebrating a birthday having travelled down from the Lake District. I'm sure there were plenty of places just as pleasant in town which would have saved us the journey out. All ok but nothing outstanding.

Came to the Laundrette a few weeks ago, and had an amazing time! I'm vegan, and the options were excellent - I had hummus and Pitta which was fresh and delicious, a Koren cauliflower pizza which was excellent and finally a vegan brownie for dessert. The food was great, and I really appreciated that everything was marked out clearly on the menu as vegan or not, and the service from Kelly was brilliant - she was attentive, checking in to see if everything was okay or if there was anything else I needed, she was friendly and warm and I would definitely return for the service alone, highly recommend.

Wasn’t sure what to expect when we came across this when looking for somewhere to go while we were in Manchester for the weekend but couldn’t have asked for a better night! We were served by Kelly who was super friendly and knowledgeable and our food and drinks were amazing. Loved our pizzas and my favourite drink of the night was the day of the dead 😍 can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!!
