A warm welcome. A good selection of zero alcohol beers from which I selected my favourite, Erdinger. The homemade pate was delicious.

The food is nice but the pub itself is absolutely freezing inside, we had to ask to be moved to the table next to the fire as before that I had to keep my coat on which isn’t great when you’re eating a meal. The food was nice, portion size was okay but you have to pay extra for cauliflower cheese which is unusual for most pubs. I found the atmosphere quite cold; we were left waiting for ages before somebody took our drinks order, nobody came to check if our food was okay or ask if we needed anything throughout the whole meal and in general the servers didn’t seem very friendly…definitely below average service but the food was nice so worth visiting if the cold and service doesn’t bother you.

Visited the Lamb & Flag again this Sunday, we were keen to try the roasts having seen the reviews. To say we weren't disappointed would be a vast understatement! I had the beef which was cooked to perfection, as we're all the accompaniments! We have visited many establishments in the area for Sunday roast but I can say without a doubt that the Lamb and Flag outshines even it's closest rival by a clear margin. Service was prompt, friendly and unfussy, no neurotic over attention nor under attention, just enough to check we were happy without being overbearing or asking questions mid mouthful. We will definitely be returning and suggest that you do too!!

We really enjoyed our meal at the Lamb and Flag. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were really welcoming. The food was perfect, the best pub Sunday lunch I've ever had. They use local suppliers and you can tell everything is well thought out and a lot of passion put in to every aspect of running the pub. Our server (Jessica?) was really friendly, efficient and had good knowledge of the products even though it was her first Sunday working there! Everyone else we spoke to seemed super enthusiastic about what they were doing and added to the welcoming atmosphere, also loved the music that was playing. We will definitely come back.

Traditional pub serving great food. We had fish and chips (wonderful crispy batter but not too greasy) and sausages from the local butcher, Tom Potter (wonderful flavour served with creamy mashed potatoes). The staff were really friendly and there were a variety of local beers and ciders on tap. I took a pint of a favourite of mine, Otter's, and my partner tried a local cider, Devon Red. The atmosphere is somewhere between traditional local and rock bar, with Led Zeppelin, The Who and other classics in the background. It was a bit chilly, but they have all the ingredients for a fire, so I'm sure that's just because it was a little quiet on a mid-week lunch time. We will try their Sunday roast next time we are in the area!

My wife and I popped in here around lunchtime on the way back home from Taunton as our baby needed feeding and he was having a meltdown on the way. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pub itself has a lovely interior, with many original looking features blended with some newer aesthetics. I cannot comment on the meals as the chef was away when we visited, but I'd happily come here again based on this experience. They did have some light bites available so we both had a sausage roll which was nicer than your average sausage roll.

Sunday lunch. Pat is the chef and came out to find out from his customers how he and his team were doing. Excellent roast pork, chicken and gravy. Carrot was very good as were the parsnip and Yorkshire pudd. Cauliflower cheese and potatoes were good. The chocolate and peanut torte was very tasty without being too sweet except that the peanut could’ve done with being a bit softer and the chocolate a bit more gooey. Service was very pleasant, prompt and good. Seems like it was a new team starting and therefore were very good, in our opinion. Huge promise. We’ll definitely go again.

Strangest experience at the Lamb & Flag! Firstly, looked on line to see the menu prior to deciding to eat at the pub. Prices seemed reasonable on the online menu £12 for a burger, ham egg & chips etc. On arrival at the pub was shocked to see that the price was on average £5 more per item (a substantial difference) - but unfortunately was with a friend treating them for their birthday and so could not simply say "oh this is beyond my budget". Then advised that a certain item not on the menu and when I jokingly said they should knock some money off the price the chef came out to say that they were "closing down the following day" and that he and the waitress would "be out of a job". When I mentioned to the waitress she did not confirm this. Just very Twilight Zone. Not sure I will be returning. The food was delicious but not worth the price being charged and definitely not market-related for the area or the pub.

With its new management and head chef (Patrice Carroll), we'd heard rumblings about The Lamb & Flag so had to make a trip down for a Sunday roast. We had a hearty beef roast with the most incredible veggies and side of cauliflower cheese. The BEST roast I have had, period. Following the main, we indulged in a locally sourced cheese board, a decadent chocolate and peanut butter tort, and enough pints to please a small army! Staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Atmosphere was warm, jovial and friendly, with a large sign that read: "dogs, muddy boots, and families very welcome". 10/10 we will be coming back.

We stopped here for Sunday roast ( roast only served on Sunday) we had issues with the drinks at the beginning and lack of staff did not help, food was good and large portion. But what really let down our meal was the flicking lights at the tables, a problem with the dimmer meant we did not want to stay long. It’s a shame but I have to give a 3star but that’s all I can give. I’m sure if we were seated down stairs at a quieter time of the day/week it could be a 5.

I stopped here after a short detour from the M5 to avoid service station food and get a dog walk, and I'm so pleased that I did. The staff were so welcoming, it was like coming into my local pub. Multiple staff offered dog treats to my spoilt travelling companion and all the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. We had a Sunday roast and they made a small portion for me especially. It was delicious and more than enough. I'm just sad that I was too full to tuck into the dessert options, as they sounded great. There are some nearby walk options that you can access from the pub car park. The one we went on was a muddy boots walk for sure, so having wellies in the car might not be a bad shout. We'll come again for sure!

We booked a table for a family meal on a Sunday, mainly choosing this pub as it's dog friendly and well located for walks. I was a bit worried when the guy who took our order said the whole kitchen team was new, but I needn't have been concerned. The roasts were delicious, with plenty of veggie gravy brought to the table for the nut roasts. Yorkshires were crisp but pillowy, the carrots were pleasantly spiced and the green beans and cabbage were perfectly cooked. We didn't have to wait long and alll the food was brought out together so nobody was left waiting. There was a lovely cosy atmosphere with the open fire keeping us warm as it rained outside, and all of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.
