A fabulous walk around the Crafnant Lake and a delicious light lunch served on tables on the lakeside. If you start from the car park and walk anticlockwise you will arrive here near the end of your 3 mile walk.

A gem in the pocket of Trefriw. We stumbled across this quaint little cafe and left with a very large smile on our faces. Aside from the absolutely stunning scenery and absence of any touristy gimmicks, this family run cafe fits this place like a glove. The menu is perfect for a late morning snack or a refuel after a lengthy lunchtime walk, and the range of hot drinks is enough to suit anyone’s taste. We had the pleasure of meeting Beau the cat who was keen to make sure we stayed as long as we did. If you’re wanting a high street cafe with the latest mod-cons and marble decor, this place isn’t for you. If however, you want to combine home comforts with the beautiful surroundings that Trefriw has to offer, then make sure you give this place a visit.

The spot is beautiful but the man behind the counter wasn’t pleasant. No disabled toilets so one of the party members couldn’t order a cuppa because she couldn’t climb the steep climb on a muddy path to the toilets. Would go back for the scenery and peace but not to the cafe.

The walk from Trefriw centre took us about 55 minutes at a slow pace. We were glad we hadn’t taken the car as the road is pretty much a single car width all the way along with very few passing places. It was worth it for the stunning scenery. We really enjoyed our coffee sitting on the banks of the lake. Excellent service in the cafe from a really lovely lady and we also met the super friendly resident ginger cat. I can say that we were fully aware that swimming/private boating isn’t allowed and there is a sign on way in.

The setting at this cafe is just beautiful, the lady serving is lovely and the cakes were Devine. We sat outside in the sun thinking how relaxed we were then we hear screaming and shouting, at first I thought there was some sort of domestic happening then we realise it’s the owners shouting angrily and continually at some ladies and their child that were on the lake in their kayak. The offending kayak was a good 200 meters away so you can imagine how loud they were shouting. They just didn’t stop, you could see they were enraged and the whole cafe knew about it as they repeatedly shouted and complained to the cafe guests how the lake was for drinking water. As keen kayakers it’s been lovely to see growing numbers of people outside enjoying the water and whilst I understand if they do not want people on there (I believe the lakes leased by them) the way they went about it was appalling. I’m glad I’m not their neighbour. Will not return, not even for the cake.

Myself and my partner went to this lovely lake and tea room in September. It was such a lovely day and the lake and the tea room and the ladies who own and run it are wonderful. So friendly and welcoming, the lady’s little dog had a broken leg and was happy to be with us and the cat , who is also very friendly. The views are heavenly and so peaceful. The food was lovely and nice selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes and a lovely selection of teas. Which we drank outside on a bench . Wished I lived closer so I can go all the time as the owner was so lovely. We've made the trip to this cafe a few times before. If the weather is poor and it's near closing time, it may well be closed. On the other hand, our laat visit was on a glorious day and there were dozens of people, a few in the small inside space, the rest spread around the grounds of the cafe and along the lake shore. Our food, including egg sandwiches (actually a baguette) was freshly cooked so there was a wait, but not hard to bear in that setting. When it arrived it was ample and delicious, which made it slightly difficult when choosing which cake to follow.up with. Choose a sunny day for your visit and you won't be disappointed; choose another type of day and the food will make it worthwhile.

£8 for a cheese and ham toastie with a little salad. I understand they have to make their living in the summer months so it seems acceptable. This little place is tucked away right by the side of Llyn Crafnant and has only one little sign to guide you down off the walking route. Depending on which way round you are taking the trip around the lake you will get either a great little treat to get you on your way or a well earned treat towards the end to keep your going. The menu is basic and unambitious but perfect for the location. Drinks and home made cakes are the star here. Very well priced and well made, with portion sizes to fit the hungry walker. The view is beautiful - there is something happening in the landscape whenever you go. We were there towards the end of the season - everything was quiet, peaceful and autumnal - quite the most wonderful location for a stroll and muse.

As it had been a nice day and not too hot we decided to walk the dogs around Crafnant Lake or Llyn Crafnant to give it its welsh name.We have been looking after our sons dog whilst they had had some work done in the house and decided a good long walk was required to wear both dogs out. We parked in the lower car park and decided to walk the yellow route which is about 2.5 miles and takes about 1.5 hours. This takes you around the lake and the cafe is meet on the way back to the car which is the best way as you are ready for a drink and something to eat and will have earned those extra calories. The cafe is in a wonderful position overlooking the lake with most tables outside so you can take in the view of the scenery. Some of the tables are undercover so you could still sit outside in the rain. The choice of food is not large but the ingredients are simple and fresh with a good selection of homemade cakess. On the menu are jacket potatoes and sandwiches etc. Unfortunately all of the cakes contained rapeseed which my wife is allergic to but this was not an issue for us. There is not better place to enjoy a drink and snack. The toilets were at the top of the garden may present a problem to people with limited mobility. Although we choose to park in the lower car park there is limited parking at the cafe itself.A word of warning to nervous drivers the road leading from Trefriw to the Cafe is a very narrow single width road which has limited visibility and very few passing places. This road is almost 2 miles but we'll worth the effort to reach the cafe and lake. A proper little gem even if it is off the beaten track. A must try if you're in the area

Arrived here after an easy but extremely enjoyable stroll around the lake. It was a glorious Summer day and as a family group of six adults whe where determined to sample as much of the different sandwiches and cakes that there were on offer, which we did. The service was brilliant, the guy who brings the food and tidys the outside seating area must be as fit as a flea as he never stops! The quality of the food matched the views from the lakeside seating area,SUPERB! We will be back.

We trekked from Trefriw village (trail 5) which was mainly up hill so by the time we arrived at the Crafnant cafe we were ready for refreshment. Stunning lake view with reasonably priced meals and cakes. Carrot cake, lemon cake and caramel slice were each devoured and washed down with tea. Fabulous

This has to be the best view in the Snowdonia National Park, so beautiful even when the sun is not shining. Homemade cakes & pot of tea. We will be back to try the sandwiches and salads. Seating on a nice day by Lake Crafnant.

My wife and her sister told me not to review the Crafnant Cafe, so that no-one else would find out about it ! The Cafe is in one of the most beautiful, tranquil places in Snowdonia. We had lunch there - excellent sandwiches, including fantastic local bacon. Very good service, and very friendly. Very well placed if you are doing the Llyn Crafnant/Llyn Geirionydd circuit - which ever way round you are doing it, make sure of your timing to get there at lunchtime

WOW...it's difficult to describe your reaction when you have a sudden acquisition and immediate love of nature (I'm a city gal)....You get outta the car and pass a bit of a waterfall, then a lot of a waterfall, then a positive GUSH of a megga bit of white water...and then reach the tranquility of a lake. That's good enough...but THEN..you happen upon Lake Crafnant café and megga wow. I'm not giving it top marks because it was early, it was seriously wet, we were obnoxiously gushing...and I/we only had a cup of tea/coffee and a slice of...but I have a feeling I am going to like this place. Cakes/tea/coffee good. More on this later :-)

I have been coming to the café for many years, it occupies a magical spot by the side of the lake with fabulous views all the year round. One can arrive by car quite easily from Trefriw village although I usually hike over the hills as a way of justifying a slice of the delicious home made cake!

A bit off the beaten tourist routes of North Wales is a wonderful lunchtime or Tea and coffee stop. A choice of at least 8 home baked cakes a good cuppa and wonderful views. I should really keep it a secret.

Came up with friends who were visiting me from Canada and London. We had such a nice time sitting by the lake having lunch and ice cream floats. Lovely place and lovely people running it.We were lucky with the weather, but even if you don't get the sunshine it's still worth a visit.

Nice home cooked food, friendly staff! Visited a few times now, a basis looking place but the quality and choice of good home cooked food with really friendly service keeps us coming back and recommending to family. Great value, easy access and free parking.

The ice cream was awesome and very tasty! 😊 The only let down was that the staff could have been friendlier and more welcoming (it's my first time visiting Llandudno!).

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.
