Well there back at it again food shocking which is a shame as over the past few months been ok, but when tonight and had surf and turf meal and was terrible all over cooked and cold peas on plate too, it's a shame as such a local pub but good food bot there bag.

We've visited the pass every two weeks for a friendly catch up with friends and without fail robyn has served us with a smile and been helpful when ordering food and needing to make changes as well as ensuring our orders are correct. Also amazing choices with choosing our shot flavours for us. Keep up the great work robyn, you work and customer service is well noted and well appreciated keep up the amazing work 😊😊

Samantha was a very good waitress. Food was ok. Sun was great, shame the family pub feel has gone and the kids can’t run about anymore as there are no gates on the garden since the refurb and no entertainment anymore for kids inside or out.

The food was tasty and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. The only downside was the lack of kid's menus. We had to use one that was already drawn on, then we had to pass it on to another customer!

Great ale on offer and a cold pint of Guinness, food was lovely. I had the prawn salad which was loaded with prawns. My partner had the 3 for £11.75 deal, prawn cocktail, chicken wings and ribs and the mushrooms, he enjoyed every dish. All great value for money, we’re not local but this is our 2nd visit this month and it’s firmly at the top of our list now! Holly was one of the people that served us, along with Danielle at the bar and the whole team seem super friendly!

Had a lovely meal here on Bank Holiday Monday. The food was delicious. Their trifle cheesecake was amazing. The staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend eating here.

Great atmosphere as per usual, must be noted how Ati + Sandra were courteous when they first dealt with the rowdy, argumentative, obnoxious inpatient customer at the bar ( when it was busy ) Then, Danielle dealt with the same miscreant later, at the pool table. Bravo!!

Food was quick, even when the pub was busy, which is rare in a Pub, so that was nice. Really nice team and friendly. Food was not great especially the wings and ribs. Kids loved their meals though.

Would have 5, but the steak was over cooked. Service was much quicker than we'd been told which was a bonus. Chicken burger was great. Gravey was a real bonus.

Went in for lunch, had to wait quite a while.t order food as bar staff were busy getting drinks for other customers. Food took a while and was pretty reasonable, nothing special but tasty enough.

Went here for Sunday lunch, was asked to pay a £20 deposit to book a table, which was a bit of a pain to get back on our food bill. I ordered a vegetarian roast but I wasn’t fully convinced the gravy was vegetarian. Didn’t want to risk it so maybe something to watch out for? Dinner overall was ok and would probably go again.

Not a lot of choice if you only want a small lunch. Last time I went there were only jacket potatoes and sandwiches - this time there were neither, and we did check at the bar. Both had from the light bites - tasty hunters chicken and chips, but it was a very light bite, though good value.Service was quick and friendly.

If I could give this a zero I would - AWFUL. First of all it was 15:00 (roughly when I visited) and there was roughly 1 person at the bar and a pub full of around 15 people. Not at all full. However, the two bar staff failed to notice or pick up I was at the bar for an unacceptable time. After the lady apologised I ordered my food. Went to the table I registered my food for - it was very dirty so decided and informed the staff I would be sitting at another table. Waited for a conservable amount of time then I chased the staff - they then informed me the chef was on a break so would not be anytime soon. In the end the Manager came out gave me the refund for the food only - the soft drink would have been nice too but hey ho. She never apologised just gave me the money back and had the cheek to talk to me like I knew the chef was on a break. I asked for my food will be ready - she stated if you want to have food you would have to give me the money back. The manager had a lack of ownership, customer service and from previous recent reviews is following a trend in the service.Following this awful service I will not be returning

My son went with his youth group on the PIzza Power day - any pizza for £5. Last time he went, they initially said that they didn't have a gluten-free pizza but, on checking, they found that they did and cooked it for him. So he asked for the same again. This time they told him that they didn't do gluten-free pizzas. We asked them to check and apparently the chef confirmed that they do not do gluten-free pizzas and, in fact, only had four pizza bases all together (at 6.30pm on a Pizza Power Day?!)We asked for the allergen book so we could see what else he might be able have and there in the book was gluten-free pizza!So he left without eating.I do wonder if it's because gluten-free usually costs more than other pizzas and the offer is "any pizza for £5". Perhaps it's too much of a discount for them to swallow.

This used to be my regular then it went downhill and we haven’t been inside for about 3 years. Decided to give it another try. The place was empty but got served quickly, which was a bonus. Food was ok, I had hunter’s chicken. It was a small portion but adequate, hot and tasty. We got our food within 20 mins, they do refill drinks so we made sure we had plenty Cost £30 for three mains and three drinks. We will come back again. My only gripe was that all the menus seemed dirty. They could do with a wipe.

Have a eaten a few times recently and the food seems to have gone down hill. I had a steak and my son had a burger both were over cooked, Husbands scampi batter looked very dark. Also on the last occasion had a pizza and it seemed to be smaller lots of tomato puree and topping not spread to the edge. The food had improved a while back so it is a shame its gone down hill.

Another visit down south to see family. We've been here once, as the kids and I enjoyed it we called in again.

We came in on Monday 20th March for a family meal due to it being my sons birthday. We had previously come in early last year and it wasn't a good experience but wow totally different. The place is looking cleaner, the bar is more organised, the food was brilliant, not much of a waiting time and the staff couldn't have done more for us. I had previously heard there was a new manger and you can tell the difference since she has been here. My son had a great time and so did we so we will defiantly be visiting again.

I have visited this pub on several occasions. It used to be reasonable, However today the food was poor, service bad and not a smile in sight. Staff is always changing both management and front of house staff. My next visit will be a while away.

What a difference, we called in this pub during the summer and it was terrible, the pub was dirty, the staff were rude and the bar was full of swearing lads.

What we liked: the lovely welsh barman. The pizza, excellent handspun with good toppings. The rest of the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Dog friendly.

Went here with my partner and son for a quick bite to eat after finishing work, lets just say we won’t be coming back anytime soon, the place wasn’t that busy for a saturday night. we found a table near the kids bit at the back of the pub, but all tables were dirty as anything. glasses and plates from people before still left there, menus sticky as anything, and service was not great at all, we ordered dough balls to start waited half an hour for them to arrive, but could see them sat on the side for a good 10 minutes, also to my disgust i sore the young lad use his fingers to put them onto the plate, not the best hygiene standards at all! once they finally arrived so did our main course, mine and my partners came in a plastic bowl but they decided to give my son a very hot plate but our were freezing, so i had to swap with him so he didn’t burn himself.

After going to one pub to eat we changed our mind and decided to use this pub. Sorry to say it was a massive disappointment, my wife and I decided to have roast beef dinners. It did not take long to come which was great. Have to say we were very hungry as we had just travelled back from Southend. we found the dinner not very palatable the beef, Yorkshire pudding were overcooked, the roast potatoes were aweful and the only thing worth eating was the veg. We will not be using this place again and I have told my family to avoid it.

The menu has changed and appears to be cheaper than before, the food was good and came out really quickly and we will be returning again!

I visited here with my partner. And it was a very friendly place. Families were having a good time, as we're single people out with friends. We had a lovely meal, the meal arrived in good time. But it did get busy around 8pm,so you'd be best to check their busiest time at the weekend. Definitely go back.

Ok if you want a drink or fast food. Seam to cater for pizzas and burgers but the other food leaves a lot to be desired. Price is very competitive.

We visited on a Monday evening when it was quiet, ordered a beef burger without the bun and salad plus cider for under £8. My friend had beef and salad. Both meals well cooked and very tasty served by pleasant and attentive staff. Was excellent value for money. My burger was lovely and chips with skin on excellent. For a fairly basic pub with no pretensions we were well impressed. Would recommend.

I decided to visit this place after looking at the menu on their web site. The menu looked quite good, with a good choice of American BBQ food. I was really looking forward to this place as I thought it would be a BBQ smokehouse. It was not a Smokehouse but a mainstream pub run by Marstons. I ordered the Pitmaster burger. The portion was good, thick burger patties and thick chips, however the burger was dry and lacked taste. It was topped with what was supposed to be beef brisket, unfortunately it was probably out of a packet and was just slopped on top of the burger, this made the bun soggy. When you tried to pick the burger up, it just fell apart. It was so soggy that you had to use a knife and fork to eat it. I should have just left it at that but I decided to order a dessert. I ordered the Pecan Monkey Bread. It sounded really good, but when it arrived it was a frozen piece of rock. Absolutely disgusting, I couldn’t even put my spoon into it. Won’t be back to this place in a hurry.

Just had a very pleasant couple of hours here with a friend. Both enjoyed our meals very much, well cooked and fresh. Friendly staff.

We visited for Sunday Lunch. I ordered Roast Turkey which came with broccoli, cauliflower cheese( doesn’t need the onion as I think people like tradition) carrots all fresh vegetables. Peas, roast potatoes, stuffing, homemade Yorkshire pud and a jug of gravy. My husband had the same but he had half chicken. The only thing missing was cranberry and they had run out at 1 o’clock on a Sunday ? You get what you pay for. Nobody cleared are plates so we didn’t order desserts. All in All a reasonable pub with friendly bar staff.
