Absolutely vile! Pizza was awful! Service was so so poor. Not table service which you think it would be for bottomless brunch! The toilets are disgusting, there so dirty, no toilet seats poo and sick in all the toilets bar one. No hand soap. The place is so dirty and run down. Do not waste your money, so dirty and sort a poor service!

My husband and I visited from Somerset and booked a table for brunch for my birthday, we were slightly skeptical when they had called us at 10pm and 5/6am to tell us they had to push the booking back a few hours. When we turned up and realized 1 man had been left to cook pizzas, make cocktails and do table service all on his own, coming from a hospitality background, we could completely empathize. This man deserves a medal. 5 stars simply because of the manager Rob. After clearly experiencing a staffing problem he ran that place single handedly when most places would have closed. I can not compliment this lovely Geordie man enough, I hope that they finally find the right bar team to back him up because he's a legend. Stuff happens, nothings ever perfect but how Rob dealt with the situation earns him 5 stars.

Waitress told us email to request a refund..no replies despite emailing several times and they're not answering their phone. This has also been another reviewer's experience so clearly a trend. FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO WORK HERE If you get some trial shifts here, be forewarned that they most likely won't hire you, they just love to squeeze free labour out of anyone stupid enough to apply for a job here (myself included). The pay just about scrapes minimum and the delegation of work will be based around how good you are at flirting (debasing yourself) with the managers/customers. The words I (and many others) would use to describe the owner are not 'internet-friendly', but I will say he is a manipulative man-child who will have you second guessing your own instinct for massive, waving red flags, but the minute you show an awareness to what you're entitled to, his hideous and most honest self will come to light. There is no HR department in hell. DON'T BE DUMB!

I can echo the comments below. We paid for something that didn't exist, and were not given a refund. Avoid.

Poor venue, poor management. Issues with drinks being taken before being finished. Toilets were very dirty, with seats falling off, two out of order. Only plus side were the two young ladies behind the bar who worked hard all night. DO NOT BOOK A PRIVATE PARTY HERE.

DO NOT BUY A "CLUB NIGHT" TICKET THIS IS NOT A CLUB/THEY ARE SCAMMERS - A group of us went for my 21st birthday last weekend and each bought a ticket for £55, the place was empty, there was not bouncers, no one on the door, why advertise as a club and sell tickets when that is not hat you are. We spoke to the waitress and asked why we paid £11 for this and she said email and you will get a refund, and recommended us to go to Olivia's Townhouse (which we did and had a great time). I am still awaiting a response despite emailing and messaging on Instagram.

A group of girls and I bought the 2nd phase tickets club event (1st Phase was apparently sold out based on the website) for 10pm Saturday 2nd April. When we arrived around 11 pm and there was no one to check our tickets at the entrance so we therefore just walked in. There were at least 10 people or less in the bar and when we talked to one of the bartenders and asked why there were so few people they told us that it's not busy and that we should ask for a refund because our tickets were not worth anything.

A joke of an establishment staff were very rude and made racial remarks against my friend who was celebrating his birthday “Nutella-man” “Jigaboo” were some of the words they used. We’ve been to the police and are currently opening a case.

Terrible customer service and hospitality. Food and drinks were overpriced and tasted cheap.

Sachin Nijarin The owner came in to the establishment and told us, the only buying customers that the playlist we had chose was the worst he’d ever heard. Not what we’d expect from a birthday night out. The staff on the bar were working above and beyond and we loved them as people and staff. Such a shame the owner was rude to our faces. We loved the experience and food and drinks. Shout out to Cobby, Rob and Abbie they worked above and beyond to make sure we were happy and our drinks were key full!!!!

Stopped off to The Lacehouse just before the Ricky Gervais at the Motorpoint arena. We grabbed a pizza each, my mrs a cocktail and I had a beer - all was fantastic! Will pop in again on date night!

Staff were lovely and gave us free drinks because we were let in a little later than expected. Food was so good and cooked in front of you. Very nice place, 10/10.

OMG!!!!! visited last night, the food was awful, I thought this was awarded the best pizza restaurant 3 years running, or so it says on their website. The pizza was burnt to a cinder, even my dog would have turned it down. Cocktails were watered down and tasteless. We complained and asked for a refund which was declined by the smarmy manager who has little man syndrome. Won't be visiting again and I suggest if you want a decent pizza and cocktail night go somewhere else or stay home atleast you know what your drinking then. If I could of gave the lacehouse zero stars I would have.

If you want to be overcharged to sit on patio furniture in a dark old factory and wait 30+ minutes for a drink, then this is your place! Do yourself a favour and go somewhere (anywhere) else. Or stay home, it's better.

Visited with 3 other friends mid week, we had pizzas which were incredible! There was one guy serving who was having to play the role of waiter, barman and chef with no other help and I have to say he did a cracking job. Really cool place and look forward to visiting again at a weekend!

Places was a shambles. Overcharged by £15. Drinks were overpriced. None of the staff were wearing masks or dressed professionally. Looks nothing like the photos. Bathrooms were disgusting, covered in vomit with toilet seats hanging off. The whole place was falling apart, looked like a building site.

Absolutely appalled by this place. Took a pricey deposit for a weekday lunch booking and they didn't bother opening the restaurant. Have tried calling and messaging several times in the last week, with no reply. They were quick to reply when I was enquiring about the booking, but strangely no reply when asking why they weren't open!!! Still waiting for my refund Lacehouse.

Happy hour is the time to go. Almost everything half price! It's not a huge bar so the tables are very limited and almost all booked. Book a table if you can. Towards the evening the music gets super loud so it's fun x

Booked for one of the first weekends they opened outdoors, paid £60 in deposit between 4 of us which we unfortunately had to cancel due to having to isolate, they wouldn’t refund us which was fair enough and offered to rebook for a later date, which they made very difficult indeed as the dates I proposed they said they’d be too busy! In the end we settled for 12pm on bank holiday Sunday as they said that’s all they could do. Arrived on the day to the fire alarm going off so couldn’t go in the building the manager was polite and apologetic so no big deal, a girl came out to take our drinks order however they couldn’t find our booking 😂 shock the building was basically empty for the time we was there and I couldn’t see any reason why we was forced to take a table at midday other than them simply wanting to be difficult, they ended up taking the deposit off the bill without any drama luckily. When the fire alarm stopped we all headed inside and it was so bad we couldn’t help but find it funny, the staff were still sweeping the floors, the floors and tables were so sticky our shoes were getting stuck, the bathrooms were filthy beyond belief and the whole venue was filled with wobbly ikea picnic tables! We had drinks which were average when we finally got served (we did ask the manager to serve us but he wouldn’t and said one of the girls will be over) and the food was pretty decent! However I’m not sure what exactly has gone wrong with this place but I wouldn’t go back! Just be careful paying deposits for brunch etc guys..

We arrived to our booking and the entrance was covered in construction and cardboard boxes. We were unsure as to whether it was even open, we were seated outside on wonky tables. Would not recommend to anyone, we booked due to their Instagram page and popularity but it was all a facade.

Went here at the weekend with three other friends and sat outside. The waiters completely forgot about us. I had to go in to ask if we could order and we had plenty of questions as no descriptions on the menu and half the menu was missing (no pizzas when do they do serve them). When the waiter arrived it was very unprofessional and all of they all seemed very ditsy. One even wrote down our order on her phone. They also hardly wore face masks, they either had them on their chins or around one ear. One of the pizzas was missing prosciutto, which was the main topping so we got given it on another plate when we told them and had no apology. We also had to go in to ask to pay and when we did our deposit was taken from us and staff were very rude about it. Also, one of my friends had said the deposit was ‘stupid’ as it’s not a deposit as they keep it and was called “abusive” for it. Could of walked off and not payed as they wouldn’t of even noticed. Service definitely needs to be improved.

Utterly dire place! Looked a lot different on the website so we booked and paid a sizeable deposit, however we got there and it was dirty, unkempt, run down, the toilets were the worst I’ve ever seen and there was zero social distancing, it took over an hour to get food and we had incredibly expensive drinks served in a plastic beaker- just awful place and avoid at all costs- we were going to charged over £100 for 4 burgers and one drink each!! Also the staff could not have cared less including the manger who just shrugged...

Terrible service. Originally booked for 8pm and was a few days before to be told that it "shouldn't have been possible" on their system, and that we were being moved to 9pm. On entering could see that the venue was reasonably busy, so ordered 2 drinks each. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and we were only given 1 each. Waitress said that they were on the way but they did not come. Ordered a second round of drinks that were also never delivered before our reservation was over. Was told that we would not receive any of our deposit refunded even though we were there for over an hour and were only served 1 drink despite ordering many. When complaining on the night the staff seemed confused saying that they did had not been busy and admitted that the were in the wrong, despite this they refused to provide any compensation. Additionally they charged us £68 for a two person reservation, when they advertised it as £30 per person. Some bars have re-opened and made the best of a bad situation - this one has not. Best stay away, we lost £50 to this con.

Booked a table paid a £10 deposit each, waited 15 mins after booking time to sit down with no apology. Pizzas are exceptionally average but priced around £13 each. £5 a pint and they give it to you in a plastic glass in the middle of the day. Toilets are disgusting like a bad club. Music was also far too loud.

Went for the 'bottomless brunch' this past weekend and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. Once the staff did serve us (nearly 30 mins after we sat down, all while there is a 90 min time limit) they were nice enough, but you could see they were understaffed and we had to wait on average 20 mins to be served. A couple of times we had to remind the staff of pending orders. Last orders were 15 mins before our time was up. When we contacted them about how much the place would be covered (it was raining the whole day) they said it was mostly covered, around 70%, but there was only one small tent (covering 4 tables) and a few umbrellas which couldn't be moved. The food was absolutely AWFUL. I don't know how the owner feels about serving such awful food to customers. The breakfast burrito had a handful of raw red onions, 4 potato chips and 2 halloumi fries with some Mayo. It was tasteless, and unimpressive. The drinks were ok, but served in plastic cups (not the biggest deal but for the money we paid it would have been nice for some glasses). When asked for an espresso martini, they literally gave a milk coffee with a shot of alcohol! I don't want to talk badly about the staff, as you could see they were trying, but it felt like they were all inexperienced, with very little training or managerial direction. The place felt like the manager did not care for the experience of their customers. All in all, it was a terrible experience and will not be returning to this establishment nor will I recommend it to others.

Booked for a bottemless brunch for 6 people - £40 each. Absolutely disappointed with food, drinks and service. Food - was terrible. Ordered the breakfast burrito which contained raw onions chips and some halloumi with no sauce. The avocado bagel was horrible no seasoning and the egg was overcooked. Drinks - these were okay. But after spending £40 on brunch you'd think proper glasses would have been given. Service - unorganised and lacked leadership. Waited for 30mins after being seated to get served. Had to wait 15-20 mins for drinks sometimes. When contacted via instagram if they had covered seats (as it was raining) they said yes 70% is. When we got there about 30% was covered. And it was like a fight for who got to sit under it as it was on a 1st come 1st basis. Tables and chairs were like something you would find if you spent £5 on a brunch. I would not recommend this place.

Terrible experience from start to finish. THE DEPOSIT - was £75 (£15 pp) which is non-refundable meaning you have to spend it all or loose out. THE STAFF - were unfriendly, however they did seem very much understaffed so I would be tempted to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, they got our orders wrong multiple times and when it came to settling the bill they overcharged us by £10 which isn’t a lot in the scheme of things but still should not be happening. THE FOOD / EXPERIENCE - The tables were unsteady especially for a big group (5 of us). The food seemed overpriced and you got nowhere near as much as what they advertise on their website / Instagram. The food also took around 50 minutes to come and we had to remind the staff that we actually ordered the food! There was piss on the men’s bathroom floor when arriving which was almost unavoidable if you wanted to use the urinal OVERALL - For the money that was spent, the issues regarding the deposit, order and food and the time we waited for our order this was probably the worst experience I have had at a bar, I would not recommend you book the lace house.

Sadly not a good experience with lace House both times I went, the first time on 12th April I was told online it was £10 per person deposit, so £30 for 3 of us, instead I found that they've taken £90 deposit and now refusing to refund as they said we were late. However, we were 5 minutes early and then had to wait 20 minutes to get seated as they overbooked. They did not answer my email or other messages. 2nd time roughly a week later they charged the correct deposit, but me and my friend once again had to wait to be seated due to over booking, and got 2 drinks within 2 and half hours and then food came 3 hours later cold... Really made the day miserable considering we were celebrating my friend's birthday. The staff were friendly but just overall an awful service, and very pricey for what they were serving, drinks come in small plastic cups and very limited menu. Definitely will not be going again and do not recommend.

AWFUL - please do avoid unless you wish to pay £14 per cocktail in a plastic cup. Seating 40 minutes later than booked and a general sense of disappointment. Service was laughable!

When we arrived there were no tables for us to sit at, even though we had booked prior and spent a £30 deposit per person. It looked like the staff were picking tables from random places and just shoving them wherever they could. For the price we were paying , considering it was £14 for a 300ml cocktail, there were no heaters, the tables weren’t secure, and there wasn’t enough people taking orders. We waited 2 hours for our pizzas and they came out cold. When we politely asked where the pizzas were the member of staff told us “it’s not my fault”. It is extremely over priced for tiny cocktails in plastic cups. My friend payed £16 for a kids portion of peri chicken nuggets, which again came out cold. A society were there so the staff members prioritised them over everyone else, this shouldn’t matter and everyone should have the same level of service provided. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Would vote zero stars if possible... Horrendous experience overall, would not recommend!! Came here last week after having to pay upfront online for the so called 'bottomless brunch' £40 odd each. Only after we paid was we informed that they basically had no food available/made even though it was on the menu which was supposed to be inclusive of the fee. The unlimited drinks were more like 'we will fetch you one when we're bothered' from the staff and we were only bought drinks 4 times within the allotted time. Staff were slightly hostile when we tried to politely ask them to be a bit quicker with the drinks. I am left bewildered really, there were only about 5 tables full and around 4/5 staff so I do not understand why there was almost no food available and drinks were brought out once every 25 minutes. When we tried to give feedback at the end staff were again hostile and we were ushered out.

You have to pay an unreasonable £30 per head, none of which is refundable, even if you don't wish to spend £30 at a subpar establishment. We also found our interaction with the lace house social media team to be incredibly rude and unpleasant after asking a question regarding the deposit. This was all before we even got there. The experience itself wasn't all a disaster - the food was nice enough and the staff were all polite, however, the prices are steep (in my opinion) and the food took 90 mins to come (45 mins for drinks) and there were only 5 tables of people being served. The men's bathroom was disgusting - cigarette buds and sweet wrappers in the sink. Overall, for the money we spent, the issues surrounding the deposit, the nature of the conversation over Instagram and the time we spent waiting for our food completely diminish the fact the food wasn't all too bad itself. I would not recommend you book at the Lace House.

Bad customer service, Sash the waiter who served me and my five housemates was incredibly rude, shouted as us and used derogatory words towards me. Extremely unprofessional. All because we were trying to address an issue. Unfortunately the experience has made me not want to return to The Lacehouse. There was also a lack of structure going on as paid a £30 deposit each (which is quite alot) and spent less than the amount each so ended up loosing quite a significant amount of money due to not getting the deposit back.

Paid £30 for for half arsed cocktails, took a £4 booking fee and charged £13.50 for 3 shots. Toilets were also shocking!! The drinks just weren’t worth the money.

Will take your deposit but will not give you a refund if they have no tables. Manager was drinking on the job and swore at customers who confronted him about the incredibly overpriced bill. Definitely don’t book here and DO NOT make a deposit because you are not guaranteed anything from this place.

This company is currently operating as or hosting Smash or Dash burgers on Deliveroo. The telephone number search on google directed me to this premises. My order was supposed to be here an hour and 15 mins ago, I've tried calling 5 times and no answer. Took my money and no order in sight or the ability to cancel. Currently going through Deliveroo attempting to cancel.

Such a nice place! Great for a girls night out! The cocktails are so nice and the staff are very friendly. The actual toilet cubicles were a little grim but that didn’t ruin my night

Really nice venue. The most famous bathroom in Nottingham needs a clean. Maybe fish the plastic balls out of the toilets. Service was poor. Had to go up to a table of managers drinking Guinness, eating pizza and watching the football in order to get the bill. Had to sit with coats on because it was so cold, might’ve been warmer outside. Appreciate the casual uniform for staff but you could at least wear your mask when serving us considering we are in tier 3.

It was such a cute venue but the event we went to was dead, and the basement smelt of a men's urinal. We left after 20 minutes, which sucks because we payed for a ticket, but it looks like it had potential, like if there was more people it could of been a good time. It's just a shame.

Yesterday went in was very short staff and took 20 mins to get a drink, the staff seem to take more attention to a big table of about 9/10 people we order a second round of drinks with shots the drinks took another 20 mins after and the shots didn’t arrive, I notice staff just standing chatting at some point instead of sort drinks it wasn’t just our table that they neglected as well I notice either

Such a lovely Bar. I was in Nottingham for the day. Came across this exquisite bar. The shishe flavours are so unique and the service was grand. Very friendly staff, attentive and kind.

Yesterday unfortunately they were short staffed and it took 2 hours for us to get our pizza. During that several times the place covered in smoke to the point our eyes were watering. Several tables around us left. However despite all that I wouldn't be writing this review if we have got the smallest token of appreciation for our troubles, like a small discount. It would have meant that our insane long wait while keeping in good spirits were appreciated but unfortunately they weren't.

Well. Interesting evening, £40 deposit (this comes off your drinks we are informed on the door) at this point not an issue. However upon sitting and ordering our 1st drink we realise our tab is going to fall a bit short of the deposit we have paid. Realising this and looking to enquire how we go about being reimbursed for the difference I spoke with a man behind the bar who claimed to be the manager and was then told that the money we had paid was not refundable, now this in my opinion is a little cheeky considering there are no signs or information informing you of this to begin with. However if I was to forgive the above, and not speak to other people at a nearby table to ours I could have almost missed the point that we appear to be the only table paying such extortionate entry deposits as no one else apparently paid over £20, so to summarise unfortunately some of us hadn't been out all day and were quite literally looking for a quiet drink, and although I don't anticipate a response to this. I think it demonstrates a lack of respect for the customers that are willing to put money into your business. And clearly demonstrates that if you think you can get away with it you will rip off whoever you can.

Cool place! Went for an art workshop that happenes in basement every wednesday as far as I am concerned, and it's cool as a lot is going on there. You can have a pint, a good meal, there are various events going on including workshops i mentioned. Definetely worth visiting.

Hired out their basement level for a birthday party and the guys there really made it special. We had a lovely pizza buffet put on for us and the management team really went out their way to decorate the space to make it really special place. Best venue in nottingham!

Easily over hyped for no reason. The place is basically a unrenovated building. Drinks are pricier than any other place. Falsely advertised on their Instagram 100%. Especially paying £10 at the door to get in. Much better places in Notts to visit than this. I'd only come back if entrance was much cheaper and I was drunk.

Number 1 spot for a night out in Nottingham! Brilliant music and drinks, friendly helpful staff nothing to much trouble. Delicious pizzas served here at a reasonable price aswell get yourself down!

Stumbled upon this place on a random night out with a few of my friends. Drinks were reasonably priced, and staff made sure they all were tailored to us. Venue looks stunning, and has Ping-Pong table to kick it up a notch. The Pizza Pop-up inside of the venue was delicious as well. Can't recommend the place enough!

Drinks in here before Bistro Live on a Friday night. Pizza, interesting ales, huge selection of gins and cocktails. Ping pong table was a nice touch. It was still early, and still quiet so can't comment on how it would be when packed later. Nice service. Cool decor. Toilets grim.

Disgraceful. We had already paid online for the event ,but still had to cue in the line. This was not a problem but being a CUSTOMER we decided to approach the manager to ask if there was any sort of cue jump, he responded 'get in the line it is my venue'. The manager to this place is a bully. Not only did he draw me out from the crowd, but he also did the same to my girlfriend and told her she is not coming in without an apology within 5 minutes. i was not only shocked but appalled by his tone and mannerisms by pointing straight at my girlfriend and belittling her in front of a crowd. WORST bar in Nottingham.

Did not even get a chance to step foot in this bar, due to a bully of a manager. However i can surely say i will never be returning. The management team needs to be reviewed.

Got turned away for wearing trainers, but I noticed that everyone after us wearing trainers was let in. Sadly I feel we where turned away for being gay and on Nottingham gay pride. I will never recommend this place to anyone, didn't even what to give it a 1 star rating. Bad form and I work in management

They do have a great selection of rhum and the staff is friendly. One little thing that bothered me is that they kept changing the music in the middle of songs. It kind of killed the vibe when they put the same spice girls song on 3 times in a row.

I had a great time with friends here. Their servers were polite, enthusiastic and just lovely people. We've vowed to go back as much as we can. I'd definitely recommend it.

Terrible events take your business elsewhere

Over priced, no atmosphere, don’t waste your time go to another of Nottingham’s many bars. Do not believe all the BS written on their events

Mixed feelings... Bar staff lovely and friendly and some tasty cocktails, but, seriously under staffed

Disappointed, we booked through a hen do company. We were told it was a high end cocktail bar and it was far from it There was only one member of staff, there wasn't a reserved table for us like we were told we would have. And the cocktail menu was non existant. The Cocktails we did have did not taste good. I would not return here.
