The food here is great, home cooked - style. The negatives are: it is a little crowded/packed in and, it's a negative for me but maybe not to others.......they allow dogs inside.

Having driven past this cafe numerous times my partner and myself finally stopped in for breakfast - and we weren’t disappointed. As a vegetarian, breakfasts tend to be pretty boring but the vegetarian breakfast in this cafe is absolutely stunning. Partner said his breakfast was lush and the first words out of his mouth after taking one bite was we have to come back - and we certainly will. Staff friendly and welcoming, and a lovely touch allowing dogs onto the ground floor.

I’m so disappointed to have to write this review but I can honestly say I have never been anywhere with such rude service. This is the second time I’ve visited and each time the staff have been rude and unfriendly. I go to mumbles every week and so frequent the cafes, pubs, restaurants and bakeries and this place is incomparable. Don’t bother wasting your money, there are far nicer places that deserve your custom. They won’t last long with such a bad attitude!

Lovely place! Dog friendly on lower floor.Great for gluten free, dairy free, veggie and vegan options. As a GF and DF diner I had a choice of 3 desserts, this is rare, usually only one in most places and that's (boring) sorbet. They had a torte, ice cream with hot raspberries and seasonal fruit crumble! Only had the latter which was delish. Had GF beer too which went nicely with the curry. The green smoothie was delish, didn't have time to try the beetroot one sadly. Rooibos tea available. As a previous reviewer mentions this is great for a family with different requirements. I'm the healthy eater, one son loves loves burgers, one loves soups and salads and my husband a curry. Win/win. We ate here 3 times on our holiday. My only reason for the lacking 5 star is that they served a salad with gluten in it and very luckily we knew that as we'd had 2 salads the week before and knew there was a difference between the gluten and GF version. If we'd not known that, we'd have ingested gluten as it was not obvious as an ingredient. But overall, a fab place, I wish I had one locally at home! Oh and you can book a table which we didn't realise.

The Kitchen Table Cafe is one of those unassuming restaurants that sits amongst a host of other options, all screaming for your attention, but which quietly gets on with doing what it does best - offering a varied menu that pleases everyone with superb service to match. We have eaten here with friends and family on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always of an excellent quality, the service is friendly and the prices are more than reasonable. Last weekend for the first time dropped into the Cafe for tea for him and coffee for her, and a cake which was very good. The decor and ambience pleasant and well thought out, staff wecoming and efficient. This sunny morning we decided to drive there for breakfast, having seen what was available on the menu which looked tasty. We both ordered the Full On breakfast, mine with an addition of an extra egg instead of potatoes, plus some black pudding, which was readily accepted for me.The breakfasts duly arrived as ordered, but the toast looked rather odd, a light brown bread with grains in it. My wife likes brown bread, I am a fresh crusty white myself (the bread not me) After a few minutes the waitress passed by and asked if everything was as we liked it, I asked her if they had white bread, I felt from her expression I had said a rude word, she said sorry we don't, when asked why she didn't have an answwer other than we just dont but would pass on my request to the owner, which is as much as could be expected from her.The cafe is very vegan/gluten free orientated, which is fine, if there is a demand for it, and obviously there is then give them what they prefer. However, not having white bread does smack of the ownwers, or whoever decides what to order, preferences. Usually, in cafes and restaurants, toast, when ordered, is offered in either brown or white by the waitress at the time. Here the toast is a part of the breakfast, which I feel should not prevent brown or white being offered. To presume, and it is clear that seems to be thee case, that everyone who visits the cafe, surely must follow the latest fads of what is and what is not healthy for ones consumption. In that resperct, I have been eating fresh crusty loaves, often still warm, so the real butter which I prefer, melts on contact with it, for some 84 years now, surely a testimony of some sort to my diet, which includes full cream jersey milk with my morning porrige and in my multiple cups of tea daily. I continue to be very active, medication free, my correct weight etc. so please no more presumptions, instead please provide for all of your customers, so I may enjoy my next visit more fully, and with some marmalade please.

We've visited this place a number of times now, I hope I don't jinx my next experience but the food each time has been excellent. We normally tend to have sourdough toast with poached eggs but have also had the bubble and squeak which is excellent and tasty. We tend to just visit on Sundays for breakfast but are intending to visit an evening as soon as we can.The one downside to the meals we've had so far is we ordered mushrooms once and the portion was very small so we didn't order them again. Have eaten here twice. Both times the food has been great, the ambiance of the cafe was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and engaging. The menu identifies which dishes are suitable fr those with food intolerances. I have to say the Sri Lankan food is too die for - so suggest you try this. The other benefit of the Kitchen Table is that it participates in the Meerkat Meals promotion and would appear to be the only non-chain establishment to do so. So if you have the card you need to visit if you want excellent food at even better prices - so our last visit 2 three course lunches cost £22 - you will not value like that anywhere else in Swansea.Lets also not forget that the cafe is dog friendly and you can bring your own alcoholic beverages - although they also have their own bar too.

The young lady serving was not at all welcoming and even forgot to provide plates for the scones. Disappointing as the building itself was pretty with a nice view on the sea front. My wife and I visited last weekend for dinner mostly as she is a vegetarian and they offer what seems a good vegetarian offering. The restaurant is small and cute (not a word I like but one that best describes the place) we were eating early as had heard that due to its size it was prone to fill quickly which was very much the case as was full(ish) when we left some time later. The staff are young and unfortunately as is it seems the habit (which I hate) these days insist on calling guests "guys"..... START TREATING CLIENTS AS ADULTS PLEASE!!!!. Anyway drinks ordered and as the driver of the day I had a superb cucumber and mint ice tea highly recommended. The food, Sri Lankan curry (chicken for me chickpea for my wife) was hot, tasty but very small portion. The desserts again were good but not outstanding and unfortunately the whole experience did not warrant the level of the end bill. So in summary - please more grown up attitude to diners and overpriced for portion sizes and quality of food other than that real potential but at present somewhat of a mismatch.

Fabulous atmosphere, great morning coffee and the brunch looked good although we did not partake. Would like to go for a meal. Good cakes too!

It's difficult to follow all the other five star reviews on here, but needless to say we looked on Trip Advisor first and because it was a) gluten free and b) dog-friendly we went first for a cream tea, which was excellent, and second a couple of days later for a fish and chip lunch - also very good. Comfortable, quirky and staff pleasant and eager to please. Recommended.

After a hard climb at nearby Oystermouth Castle we stopped here for lunch before heading to Cardiff. cafe was small but what counts was the quality of food. There were only 1 waitress and 1 chef and the cafe pushes out each order very timely. I had my affagato and the hot chocolate was good too.

I visited with my dad who is not an adventurous eater and he is certainly not vegetarian. Suffice to say that he and I have very different needs as I am vegetarian and like Asian style dishes. This is one of the few places where we have both been able to order something that really suited our individual tastes

We had a lunch time meal. Waitress very friendly and helpful. She explained that they take pride in offering a wide range of gluten free meals and cakes etc. Separate fryer for chips; everything in kitchen fully labelled to avoid cross contamination etc.

Excellent service. Really interesting menu. Lovely atmosphere. Particularly good for groups or couples that have meat eaters and vegetarians in the same group.

We remembered a previous positive visit, and, having been disappointed by lunch at a nearby cafe, decided we both needed a coffee. Pleasant staff, plus soya milk for our coffees, made for an enjoyable visit. The menu remains veggie-friendly, with sufficient variety, and service is good. When we're in Munbles again, we'll undoubtedly return here.We also noticed that dogs are welcome.

Been here a few times, really fresh breakfast and the toast is sourdough, it’s probably one of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had (full English)! I’ve seen the vegetarian and vegan! They also look really nice

Whenever we visit the Mumbles looking for breakfast we head to the Kitchen Table. It's a perfect place to stop. The bacon sandwich was delicious and cooked exactly as I wanted. Also the coffee was thankfully hot at a decent price. Too many places offer expensive tepid weak cups. I would recommend this every time to another visiting the Mumbles.

What a lovely find and our Labradoodle was welcome too. Lovey quality food and friendly staff in this pretty little cafe. Such a lovely treat to order salmon and avocado on toast and have generous serving of both. Thoroughly recommend - just wish we were here for their Thursday night Sri Lankan curry evening.

The food was delicious, however the same dish was ordered on two separate days, but came out different. The place is pretty and aesthetic. We enjoy coming here for our annual trip to Wales!

The food was brilliant, really interesting menu options, definitely recommend the chef’s special!! The staff were really well informed on menu knowledge, able to let me know what dishes would suit my taste and also were able to cook some salmon dishes some more for me as I’m not the biggest fan of cured salmon & raw fish. Couldn’t fault it!
