This is a brilliant cafe. Giving employment opportunities to adults with a learning disability. Lovely tables and comfortable chairs. I had a lovely latte and bakewell brownie, my son enjoyed his tea and brownie. I purchased a lovely loaf of bread. No bread baked today but usually you can see the bread being made. Great service. Amazing place.

If you can tear yourself away from Mersey Square main area, just behind Primark is this diamond of a place. Fabulous coffee and cake, amongst other glorious delights. Run by Pure Innovations, which is a charity for people with disabilities. The Kitchen is accessible, dementia-friendly and a community hub. Here Pure Innovations train people with learning disabilities to make our range of top quality bread and cakes. Floors and signage are all dementia-friendly and we donate a minimum of 20 loaves a week to The Wellspring, a local homeless charity. Every Monday, between 11am and 1 pm The Kitchen hosts a friendly Dementia Drop In session for people living with dementia and their carers Please seek out this place, you won't be disappointed.

From the outside the café looks really inviting, so out of curiosity we called in. Wow, just as impressive on the inside. Absolutely spotless clean and the smell of freshly baked bread was just amazing. Having an open kitchen & watching the staff make the bread was really interesting. They were proper friendly as well and came over to our table to explain about how they baked them. We just had soup and a sandwich each which were super fresh and incredibly tasty. They also host different events for the community which is brilliant. The food was that good, we ended up buying some loaves and pastries to take home. Definitely be back here when we are next in the area.

Open only six weeks, this bakery and cafe is a lovely addition to Stockport. The bread is all prepared on site and is excellent. My soup was hot and it was no trouble when I asked for brown bread to accompany it. Hubby really enjoyed his toastie and the coffee was excellent. The Kitchen is charity run and provides training and employment to people with learning difficulties. The cafe is comfortable and clean and nothing was too much trouble for the very pleasant staff. We will be returning next time we are in Stockport

Today was my first visit to The Kitchen, which is a new cafe with its own bakery on site. You can see the staff making all the bread, muffins, rolls and so on through glass panels while eating the results of their baking in the other half of the cafe! Pure Innovations, who run it, employ several staff who have learning disabilities, and the cafe is really accessible, so perfect for wheelchair users or parents with buggies and prams. I really enjoyed the home made soup, and of course the bread, as did the family when I took it home - it disappeared really quickly. I'll be back for more!

Lovely brekkie yet again. Donna and Co make you feel really welcome. Good food and well priced. Third week in a row we've been and we'll continue coming because of how nice it is.

Lovely afternoon tea for three. Two of us vegetarian but didn't feel like we missed out at all. Everything freshly prepared and friendly service - even after I got the time wrong and arrived 30 mins later than expected! Would recommend highly.

What a great place! The breakfast was excellent, the decor beautifully done with a mixture of themes and all the staff were fabulously cheerful and helpful. What’s not to like? Great to see an independent doing so well in these days of multinational chains. They have lots of regulars coming in and not surprising! Highly recommended! Thank you to you all.

We go to the tearooms often, but for the first time I had the smashed avocado for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. They were out of the sourdough bread but the wholemeal was just as good! And such good value, with the smiliest of young waitresses! They were very busy indeed, but we didn't have to wait long. An absolute gem in our village with Emma's delicious homemade cakes too! Super
