Tengo que estar de acuerdo, sin duda el mejor pescado con patatas fritas de toda la zona. Nos sorprendió ver nuevos propietarios y eso fue una preocupación, porque los propietarios anteriores eran excelentes y servían los mejores fish and chips. Pero para nuestro deleite los nuevos propietarios son encantadores también, y el pescado y las patatas fritas son tan buenos, si no mejor que antes.

El restaurante en la parte trasera es perfecto, con una hermosa zona de estar para cenar. La comida para llevar es deliciosa y todo está tan fresco y muy bien cocinado, servido y envasado. A muy poca distancia del frente del río. Sin duda recomiendo esto y visitaremos una vez a la semana. Gracias por nuestro encantador almuerzo de hoy ❤️

¡Posiblemente el mejor fish and chips de la historia! Mesas limpias. Amable camarera. Bacalao fresco perfecto en una masa crujiente, no aceitosa como otras. Grandes patatas fritas y todo servido caliente. Vale la pena visitarlo.

Una serie de lugareños nos dijeron que era el mejor pescado con patatas fritas en Stratford y no decepcionó. Comida de gran calidad y buenos tamaños de porciones. Precio razonable, especialmente en comparación con otros en la zona. Nos sentamos en el restaurante y estábamos muy contentos con el servicio.

Excelente relación calidad-precio. Nuestra tercera vez aquí. Tomé un pequeño pescado, papas fritas, salsa de curry y una taza de té, pan y mantequilla. Vi a la señora preparando nuestra comida, nunca tocó el pan estaba todo hecho con pinzas. Muy fresco, gran servicio. Joyas escondidas cerca del centro de la ciudad, restaurante también. Gracias.

We wanted a quick dinner while we were in Stratford for the day. Saw this restaurant on Trip Advisor and it didn’t disappoint. Got takeaway haddock and chips. The fish was delicious and, because the food was packaged in a box, it stayed crisp. The box also meant it was easy to eat sitting by the river and watching the rowers practicing.

Amazing, how fish and chips used to be ! All fresh and tasty. Keep it up team and we will be back. The best in Stratford by far!

Very welcoming, we sat in to eat but you can have takeaway. Very reasonable price for a good portion, and what an amazing taste, I haven’t enjoyed fish and chips like this in a very very long time - felt very comfortable to be seated here and didn’t feel under pressure to eat up or move on. Our fish was cooked to order, it was obviously fresh and the batter was tasty and crispy. There was a little bit of a wait, but a queue shows you the locals go there and people had come back because it's good chip shop! We'd definitely recommend it.

Being a local in Binton for 29 years, I have tried almost every Fish & Chip shop within 5 miles of Stratford-upon-Avon and always been disappointed with either the fish or chips. Last night we tried the Kingfisher for the first time since it changed ownership and wow, perfection. Not only were the chips perfect, but the mini Cod and normal Cod were cooked to perfection, with crispy batter and the fish still light and moist, not dried out like most other places. I can recommend this takeaway as "THE" place to go if you are looking for decent fish and chips, at a reasonable price and for the outstanding quality of their food. I am so relieved to have finally found somewhere decent for my fish and chips.

We were staying nearby and saw the good reviews for The Kingfisher, and thought got to give it a go! It didn't disappoint from the moment we stepped through the door of the restaurant until we left. A friendly greeting and helpful information given by the lovely lady serving us. The food was fresh and tasty.... batter perfectly crispy, fish plentiful. A must to visit whilst in Stratford upon Avon.

Honestly best fish and chip supper I have had in a long time. Decent portions, staff are honest and great to chat to. Dine in was clean and they serve Vimto 10/10 Will come back, really good value for money too.

Our fish and chips were plentiful cooked perfectly and so tasty . Wandering around Stratford for tea and were disappointed with the menus on offer at most of the restaurants we decided to try here. So glad we did it was fab 😋

We heard about "the best place for fish & chips" several times along the canal route so couldn't NOT go. THE BEST and I'm not really a huge fan of them. We all got the cod and it was a large piece of fish, cooked to perfection. Wasn't soaked in grease like some and chips were crispy. Unfortunately no longer allowed to wrap in newspaper (ink) but they were good anyway. Just a small restaurant, but busy. Offered tartar sauce, curry sauce (yummy) and gravy as extras. Worth looking up.

Visited midweek for takeaway, freshly cooked pieces of cod and haddock but chips were a little tired and not fresh, reasonable price. Will retry

visited for lunch (after trying previously a few times and was either closed or closing) and ordered 3 lunchtime specials of 2x fish and chips and 1x sausage and chips. the fish and sausage was cooked to order so were nice and hot (or a nice edible hot by the time we walked down to the theatre gardens to eat ) there was plenty of chips in each portion and the fish was really nice and tasty as was the batter. the chips were also very good if a little chill and tasted quite like "seaside chips" only a few niggles that is why it is not 5 star. the curry sauce that comes with the meal was more of a Chinese curry IMO and was quite thick and bright orange. also was surprised that the sausage deal was a small sausage as this is what is served in the kids meal and the only difference i could see in the menu description was the fact the lunch special comes with curry/peas ect over all think we will be visiting again soon but it would also help that as we might want to eat in (Great British weather being what it is) is that if the opening hours for the dinning area are in clear view before you walk down the passage way

Here’s a business that won’t look you in the eye until they want your money. The overworked packing assistant cum money taker was fulfilling as fast as she could go, but only under the watchful eye of management who clearly could not give a monkey’s about those people in front of him. They never look up because you are not important to them. Treat with the same respect you are offered. Chips weren’t bad by the way 😜

The lovely staff at the Kingfisher very kindly allowed my friend and I to sit in their cosy little restaurant just 30 minutes before closing on Friday night, even though it looked as though they may be shutting the door as we were passing! The service was outstanding and the food arrived hot and fresh, as a cup of tea or coffee was included with our meal we both accepted and were so surprised at just how well it goes with fish and chips! We’ll definitely be coming back again, thanks so much for your hospitality!

As a local, reading the reviews, it appears that many people don’t write about the restaurant at the rest of the shop. Freshly cooked food to order with a cup of tea or coffee along with bread and butter included. Much better value for fish and chips that the local pubs. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Viajamos 7 millas por 3 pescado y papas fritas y pastel y papas fritas, al regresar a casa y abrir las comidas nos decepcionó y disgustó que un servidor nos hubiera envuelto y vendido. Si no viviéramos tan lejos, las comidas habrían sido devueltas, sino que tuvimos que tirarlas a la basura ya que no eran comestibles. No malgastes tu dinero en esta tienda. La única razón por la que le he dado una estrella (porque yo también lo he hecho) es porque entendieron que una comida no contenía gluten, pero todos mis compañeros celíacos, por favor, no se molesten.

Vivo a 5 millas de distancia de esta pescadería, pero su pescado y papas fritas están tan bien cocinados que estoy feliz de viajar. Una porción de pescado y papas fritas es aproximadamente 8. 00. Frían el pescado que pidas y las patatas fritas son sabrosas y una porción muy decente. El personal siempre es amable y está feliz de charlar mientras espera 5 minutos o menos para que se fríe el pescado.

We hadn't been to this fish and chip shop for some reason. The standard of the food was excellent and probably the best we have had for a number of years. Even when we got home the fish and chips were still hot and the batter hadn't gone soggy. Highly recommended. We won't leave it so long next time.

Vi el cartel con los mejores fish & cips de la ciudad y pensé ¿qué podría salir mal? Pedí fish & cips y esperé un rato: todo estaba preparado en el lugar, puntos adicionales por eso:) la porción era enorme (tenía que compartirla y aún no se podía terminar), pescado muy fresco y delicioso , las patatas muy bien hechas. De hecho, esta es una verdadera joya de Stratford - upon - Avon. Estaré probando esto con seguridad si vuelvo.

Look no further.You can sit and eat in (around the side of the building) or take away (from the front). The side entry is a bit narrow, but we managed with a buggy no problems.We chose to eat in. The restaurant area is small and clean, old-fashioned but exactly as you'd expect a long-established chippy restaurant to look.1 massive cod and chips, 1 massive haddock and chips, succulent scampi and chips, 1 large and 1 small sausage and chips, a pickled egg and soft drinks for all came in at £38. Bargain. Takeaway would obviously be cheaper.A huge thank you to the angelic, very sympathetic owner... but next time, my husband and I will come without a toddler. (Nevertheless, he enjoyed his food immensely!)

If you like fish and chips, this little gem of a restaurant next door to the shop in Ely St. is very good value for money. In comparison to other chippies in town, the quality food is not expensive, is cooked to order and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Es un poco fuera de lo común, pero es una tienda de pescado y papas fritas a la antigua. Cuando fuimos todos tuvimos el bacalao y las patatas fritas. La masa estaba crujiente, el pescado perfectamente cocinado y con un sabor fresco. Ah y teníamos una montaña de patatas fritas. No puedo imaginar cuán grande sería la porción grande.

This is by far the best fish & chips restaurant in Stratford. You can eat in (there is a separate dining room) or takeaway! This is a very popular restaurant, so you might want to ring ahead if you are getting your food to takeaway. But if you're not in a rush, sit in the restaurant area or, if you are taking away, look at the various photos from events which were filmed there or read the adverts on the walls. The service is good (but if crowded, it does get busy) and the staff are very friendly. Brilliant!

Rang ahead to place my order so that it would be available when I arrived. Usually, this is not a problem, but this time, for some reason, they hadn't been given my order and so I had to wait for it. The plus side was that the fish was freshly cooked and the chips were just done as well. They are always careful as my partner has an allergy to vinegar, so when I ask for the food to be "just salted", that is what they do - they don't go on autopilot and just put both. The takeaway food is well wrapped (not too tightly so that the crispy batter comes off) and it makes it home nice and hot! Great place!

I have eaten fish and chips all over UK and many other countries and this restaurant ranks high on my list! I don't need a wine list and ambience for a great fish and chip meal. Highly recommended for a good traditional meal.

This is a fantastic chippy!! It is family run and we always get a warm welcome. The food is excellent and always fresh and hot unlike some other nearby restaurants-I can highly recommend the steak pie and chips. Yum yum!

Every now and again my ageing sister and I dispense with dinner at a local restaurant in favour of fish and chips from the Kingfisher. I can't say in the many times I have been there to pick up our dinner to have been disappointed. You know it is good when you see the queue snaking out of the door into Ely Street. No worries. You are able to place your order as they cook for those in front and you know everything you have is going to be as fresh as a seaside chippy. Plaice and chips for two was the order and it was perfect, not greasy in any way with crisp batter and firm white fish. Cost wise it is far cheaper than my local in the South East and, I have to say, better. Staff are efficient but friendly with it. Don't know why I haven't reviewed them before.

Our group popped in while we were walking by to get some fish & chips. Everyone loved their food and enjoyed wandering the streets while noshing. Affordable, fresh and good food.

Called in on Friday night after walking out of Barnabys because of the inflated prices and advised by a street vendor to go to the Kingfisher. Glad I did great value and everything cooked fresh and very plentiful. Staff very friendly although really busy but still had time to be pleasant to their customers.

The food was quite tasty and the staff was very friendly. The fish was prepared freshly for us, though that meant that we had to wait longer for it.

We were staying near Stratford Upon Avon for 2 weeks and loved the fish & chips so much at Kingfisher that we visited it 4 times whilst there.

Recently had fish and chips in their restaurant. Whilst not the grandest of places excellent value. Fish (haddock) and chips very good. Also mushy peas good (one serving of peas enough for 2). Good portions served nice and hot. Will definitely return when visiting Strafford

We count ourselves lucky to live within walking distance of this fine fish and chip shop. And eating in their cafe is a rare treat and like stepping back in time. Always fresh, we argue over whether the haddock or the cod is best. Friendly staff always offer a familiar smile and are never stingy with the chip portions.

We live quite close to Stratford upon Avon and whenever we go there a visit to the Kingfisher is a must. We have cod and chips and it is always fresh and piping hot. It is only a five minute walk back to the Theatre so we tend to eat them sat on the grass or wall. There is a small restaurant there but we have never used it as we enjoy the ambience neat the river.
