The Keiller Brasserie in Aberdeenshire

Good food and even better staff. A local favorite that is attached to the Hilton grand vacation’s resort and country club. Food was pretty good but not the best in the area. Had the Sunday roast both the chicken and roast beef Both were really good but not the best in the area. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but it is a convenient location with easy access to hiking.

The burger was good. The pork belly was dry, crackling was chewy and bonbons were hard and dry. The sauce helped and it was seasoned well, the greens tasted like they were boiled and the scallop was ok, so overall not a great night for the kitchen. Service staff were great and it's a pleasant place to eat.

Really beautiful food, everything was hot & presented lovely. Great staff, attentive & friendly - especially Valentina & Allistair. Would recommend and would definitely return :)

Short version: The food is very good, the service is slow and attentive. I would come back again in an emergency, but not as a first choice. Food: the food was good and tasty. The portion size was also appropriate. We were both full, and not barely. However, if you take the main course, it might be a little small. The dessert menu looked interesting, but we decided against it. Service: Service was slow and attentive. It took a very long time until we got drinks (despite the empty restaurant and simple drinks from bottles) and when the drinks were eventually empty we weren't asked once the whole evening if we wanted anything else. In general it felt like it was a burden on the waiters when they had to interact with the guests.

The Hilton Craigendarroch is located just as you leave Ballater. It is set in a peaceful and serene highland setting complete with onsite lodges, pool & spa facilities and a great bar/restaurant. After a day of enjoying birthday festivities in the wonderful countryside, I was looking forward to enjoying a hearty meal with all my family in the Keiller Lounge located within the Hilton Craigendarroch. As we entered the lounge, we were greeted by our waiter (Martin) who I felt looked at us a little funny, he then showed us to our table and offered to take a drinks order straightaway. We had to wait a little while for another family member to arrive so kindly declined and got settled in but he came back once again asking if we would like a drink, luckily our fifth person had just showed up at this point. After taking a look at the food menu, we then had a really friendly girl take our order, most of our party had the fish & chips or burger and chips which were delicious and well deserved after a day of wandering around Balmoral and the surrounding area. Martin then came round to make sure everything was okay and wished me a Happy Birthday which was nice of him but still felt we were made to feel like outsiders but since it was my birthday I didn’t let it get to me. We all then had a spot of dessert which consisted mainly of sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. All in all it was definitely a birthday to remember at the Hilton Craigendarroch, some of the staff are great and really welcoming and with its modern and plush interior it made for a great evening out.

Was sad not to be in the restaurant proper, but was still a nice atmosphere in the main lounge. Nice meal, good service. Unfortunately my salmon starter came smothered in grain mustard dressing (which wasn't on the menu description) so had to swop with my husband. Entirely my fault and will double check next time.

We really enjoyed our meal here last night! We recommend the fish & chips (very large portion) and the goats cheese and leek galette. I had the orange posset for dessert and it’s the best dessert I’ve eaten in a long time. Relaxed atmosphere & not too busy so the waiting staff were highly attentive.

Good choice of food and drinks.

Really friendly and attentive waiting staff, excellent food and a good selection of wines. Booked for my partner’s birthday. Had a great night, and for the food quality, it’s very good value. We’ve been several times now, and it’s consistently excellent.

Bad experience today. Really bad service from evasive waiters who avoided common manners and eye contact, and chatted among themselves at the bar while making us wait too long for food and drinks. No thank yous at all from our waiter, even when we paid, he just avoided our gaze and turned away. He seemed uncomfortable seeing 2 guys dining together. We asked him why he didn't acknowledge us and he just shrugged his shoulders and blamed us even though we had said please and thank you to him repeatedly. He then went to the bar and pointed us out to the barman guy in an obvious insulting way about us. We will never return to this place.

Not expensive, friendly service and neat

Small restaurant within the Hilton Craigendarroch Lodge resort. Fairly priced for the quality of food, which is of a high standard. Booking is recommended. Good selection of dishes available and very attentive staff.

Our evening meal here was absolutely FANTASTIC the food was really nice & the dessert was delicious. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodateing especially with the various questions and requests I had due to our dietary requirements. My wife loved the seabass & I enjoyed the breaded Haddock. The dessert was absolutely delicious. I relished each bite of the Dark Belgian Chocolate Cake with ice cream. (see attached pictures) The breakfast was nice I had the Turkish Eggs which consists of two poached eggs with chilli oil, yoghurt and dill. On day 2 I opted to get the yoghurt separately which was a good shout as it wasn't to my liking.
