My cousin was over from Miami and I wanted to have a nice farewell meal my friend recommended IVY Asia and what a beautiful restaurant. We came Thursday 31/10/2024 4.00pm til 7.00pm The food was excellent but what topped it off for me was Dennis who serverd my part of 3. He looked after us so well and helped us decide on our food. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if you are lucky enough to have “Dennis the Menace” server you.

A very good restaurant that charges the prices of an excellent restaurant. Excellent decor and environment. Well staffed. Slightly blunt and forward staff but still nice. Wagyu beef was warm and tough, mango cocktail tasted watery and a little flavourless, seed lip mocktail was excellent. Starters were lukewarm, tempura was not crispy. Lamb main was excellent, juicy, perfectly cooked and tastefully seasoned. Excellent dragon ice cream and doughnut dessert with a wide selection of toppings to choose from on your plate (though would recommend sharing it)

We have gone to visit this restaurant after going to London for 4 years, it has always caught our attention for its decoration and its dishes. Our experience begins with the service, Divane was served by a waitress who was very attentive and willing to help us with all our questions. We were 4 diners. There were proposals for menus and individual dishes as well. We decided to try an experience called Black Shell, which has a variety of sushi and sashimi, on the advice of the waitress who tells us that it is an “abundant” dish that she believes would be enough for the 4 people at the table (the fact that this “menu” came with three pieces of each item, we asked if They could expand the menu to 4 pieces of each item. So we started there, the dish arrived with a magnificent presentation, but in terms of quantity it was a bit small... I understand that quality must be paid for and up to that point I agree. The sushi was very good, you could see the quality and above all how it was prepared... a light layer of rice and almost everything filled. After finishing this dish, which was not enough, we ordered 3 more sushi rolls because the first dish had not been enough. We have also ordered some cocktails which I must say were quite good. And to finish we have ordered a menu of varied desserts. The experience has been nice, we have eaten well and we have enjoyed the beautiful place and the beautiful atmosphere that was breathed there.

It's fine. The place itself is beautiful - the floor in particular gets five stars. The food was great, just not Sexy Fish great. Loses a star for promoting a culture of slapping service charge on the bill - not good. The staff were a very mixed bag and not very coordinated. We had to order our wine twice, we got checked on by three different people. One guy dropped his tray of drinks by our table... twice. This cuisine and style is very competitive in London and I'm afraid there are better places available.

So this was my second experience with ivy Asia, the first being in Mayfair branch but after an awful experience decided to try the Chelsea branch instead for a date night. Although going in with high expectations I feel I was let down again and starting to feel as if this is a management issue across the chain with a lack of training for staff members. So the positive as always first. Staff are very friendly and always helpful which is nice to experience, the decor is beautiful and tables are spaced nicely for privacy. The food is cooked to perfection, full on flavour and generous portions. My concern this time was with the way the food was being Brought out, not with the time it took as that was perfect but with what came when. So on the menu it says you get wonton for the table not too sure you can call them wonton as they are more like Indian poppadoms but anyway that never arrived and I had to request it when it states that was your first thing to get before your starter. We ended up getting that before desert which if I did not notify the staff we would not have got it. Secondly the mains arrived and we did not get any rice or veg as stated in the menu and had to request it again, by the time the rice and veg arrived our food was starting to get cold and having the mains salmon or beef with no sides such as rice or veg as stated leaves you. Just sitting and waiting for it to arrive. I don't know if it is the kitchen staff not preparing the food how it should be served or the waiter not bringing it and forgetting it at the kitchen. These issues I did not have with the Mayfair branch but suffered different issues with the staff. It seems that the ivy chain has some. Issue with management not clearly making the staff understand what is supposed to be done around the restaurant and a lot of forgetting and mishaps seem to be a common occurrence now in the ivy chain. To be honest to wait around for side disheses while your main is getting cold is a bit annoying and I was not the only one the table next to me had a family of 4 and they demanded the side be taken of the bill as they ordered the sides for the main and it arrived when they already taken the main away as they finished. As a restaurant this is a significant failure which should be addressed as you cannot serve beef or fish on its own with no sides, in the meaning "sides" they are a side dish for your main.

Ivy Asia is a feast for the eyes, which was lovely but didn't help our stomachs one bit. It's king of a celebration of pan-Asian design, but created in such an over-the-top way that it's almost insultingly ironic. The uniforms are tailored and jaw-dropping, and the floor, designed to look like jade, glows a lurid fluorescent green. Napkins are rolled and fastened with a dragon-shaped ring. The bar is bedecked in gold, the glassware is beautiful, and depending on where you're sitting, the ceiling is covered with either cherry blossoms or Chinese lanterns. I needed the loo. It’s a small restroom for a large restaurant, and there was a queue for the two urinals. There's a third, but they've stood a statue of a smirking samurai at it. Back in reality, we perused the menu. "It's a sharing concept", the host said. Ugh, I hate this service style now. It's been done to death. The prices are high, but not awful. There's a lot of choice, such as sushi, sashimi, small plates like gyoza and salads, larger plates like a duck and lobster fried rice, a robata beef section, and plates to share between two, like aromatic half-duck. There are tasting menus that give you the full experience, so the three of us took the ‘premium’ menu at £sixty-five per person. I'm delighted and, to be honest, surprised to say that Ivy Asia isn't a polished turd. The food was amazing, but as I said, were we in the right frame of mind since we were ravenous? I don’t know, but we enjoyed most of what was served. Wontons with yoghurt and Szechuan dips were gone in sixty seconds as the three of us hoovered them up. For me though, the seared beef tataki with ponzu dressing was the star of the meal, the soft slithers of beef melting in the mouth against the treacle umami dressing. My word, they can nail sushi too! Yellowtail rolls with asparagus were clean, refreshing and well-made. Fresh salmon sashimi was given the Ivy touch with a hint of truffle miso. The quality of the fish was such that the marinade was as needless as the bowl of smoking dry ice, on which they were served. Nevertheless, by the time the sushi and sashimi were finished, we were getting worried there wouldn't be enough food. I'm not even exaggerating. For three people, let alone three hungry people, the portions were lean. We asked the waiter for a plate of that amazing-sounding fried rice to share. "Uh-uh, you'll definitely not need that". Taking his word for it, we soldiered on to the hot starters of pork and chicken gyoza and Ebi prawn tempura. The tempura was lovely enough but lacked the showiness of the previous courses, which I was unashamedly buying into by now. To an extent, the gyoza also appeared in front of us a little on the beige side, but they were redeemed by virtue of being the best gyoza I've ever tried. With the dumpling having a decent integrity and a plump, spicy filling that didn’t explode into watery misery, I was in heaven. And to our relief, by now, we were filling up, just in time for the mains. Cod, slow roasted with a 48-hour miso was lovely but felt a little derivative, given that Nobu offers something almost exactly the same, but frankly better. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper beef fillet. It was succulent to me and paired well with a lime and pink pepper dressing. The mains were served with – I counted them – three pieces of bok choy and an laughably small pot of rice. Did we need the fried rice, I asked my other half? "We didn’t need it, but I would have eaten it". Another plume of dry ice heralded the arrival of the dessert plate, called 'Moon Dragon'. Choux buns were filled with chocolate cream. ‘Filled’ is a little generous of me, as some of them were, some of them weren't. The promised honeycomb cheesecake with yuzu caramel was three petits fours. There was a twist of vanilla ice cream and a miniscule pot of chocolate sauce that we had no idea what to do with. OK, so desserts aren’t Ivy Asia's thing, and that's fine. We opted for a second round of cocktails, which were wonderful. My Mango Sling was a dangerously smooth

This was our second time at Ivy Asia. Unfortunately we got moon festival drinks that had glitter in the outside and got all over everything which make the experience annoying. This is a great venue and always very busy. My only gripe is the loud club music blasting through the speakers with loud base. Does not lend to the ambience of an Asian restaurant. Amazing food, everything was top notch. Really good flavours and nice portion sizes. We went for the premium taster menu which had everything in it from prawns and sushi to steak. The dessert was actually massive we couldn’t finish it all. I was really surprised about the value, I mean it’s not cheap but it’s not the most expensive you can find in London and for the quality of the food and how much you get it’s really really good. Of course make sure to pre book as it does get really busy. Friday evening and weekends you can find parking around the corner for free so generally all great.

Came here for a birthday for a party of 7 people and had the premium experience menu - had an amazing experience! Cocktails were very unique, sweet and refreshing! Every dish was outstanding - favourite had to be the black miso cod. Only negatives were that we all asked for the steak to be rare, but came out more medium rare/medium side. Portions looked small for 7 people, but given the long gaps between dishes everyone did end up full. Gave us a complimentary mochi ice cream since it was a birthday was a nice touch. Amazing decor - everywhere you look is an amazing sight, and couldn’t help but react to the sudden surprise when going to the male bathroom. Despite booking couple weeks in advance the table they gave us for 7 people was a bit small and definitely a squeeze for all of us. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend visiting once or for a special occasion, would 100% return!

We just had lunch at Ivy Asia Chelsey. Very bad experience. We booked a table, came in time. Then they literally forced us to leave the restaurant after 1,5 hours, after we came in, ordered starters, mains, wine. They kept asking if we finished the food, if they can clean the table. When they saw an empty plate, they quickly removed it along with a plate with food remaining not even asking if we want to finish it. The portions were quite small, so we decided to order some more food, but they refused to take our order saying that there is a time limit of 1 hour 45 mins and they can only bring us a dessert. All this was in a very rude, demanding manner. At the same time nothing was said to people at the next tables, who were there before us. We were not in a mood to argue, refused their dessert menu, paid the bill and left to continue our evening at another restaurant. Advice: don’t go to Ivy Asia Chelsea restaurant, better find another one.

The tables are a bit small, there were three of us and we had a table for two people. The flaw is that we couldn't have dessert and coffee because we had to get up since they needed the table for other customers. So if you go there you have to have a quick lunch or dinner. However I recommend it.

He didn’t seem like he wanted to interact with us, which really was not great for such a special occasion. It was my first time going but I don’t think I want to go back if the service is at this level, despite the good food. Ivy Asia, Kings Road, Sunday, 1st of September, 16:25. I would love to review the food but no matter how many times I tried to have the food I ordered, served, it never arrived despite repeated assurances and apologies from the waiting staff that it was on it’s way. I would understand if the restaurant was busy or short staffed but it was far from full and there were staff teeming around. Our server eventually got her manager, who instead of coming over to us to explain the delay and possibly apologize about the situation stared at the screen on the restaurant’s ordering system for 10 minutes, scratching her head, then walked off - really odd, unprofessional behaviour. After 1 hour and 2 minutes we got up and left. Other patrons, at 2 separate tables, seated beside us, who came in after us, were served their starters and had finished their mains when we walked out. We were really looking forward to this meal as my son had been there the day before and had a great time. Staff training on customer relations might be a good idea, clearly the manager should be first in line!

This restaurant, like the rest of the Ivy branches was completely underwhelming. Slapping ‘Asia’ in front of the name doesn’t make it Asian. The service was terrible. The waiter asked my boyfriend his drink order three times, asked me whether I had my drink when he could clearly see that on the table there was no drink there after waiting 30 minutes. The food came out at different times so I had to start eating before my boyfriend. Despite all of this no apology from the waiter. We asked to take some of the food with us since they were closing soon and the waiter brought out plastic Tupperware for us to pack the food ourselves. My boyfriend tried to have a word and ask the waiter to pack the food in the back and he refused and gave us Tupperware with no bags. Completely classless and awful dining experience. As for the food, compared to other Pan Asian restaurants in the city, the food was pretty bad; the wagyu skewers were the only nice thing I ate and we ordered quite a few dishes. I usually love the miso black cod but theirs didn’t taste fresh - very fishy taste (in a bad way). Would never come back here. The only thing that was nice was the decor and the Dj.

We went there for a special birthday with our daughter and two friends on a Monday lunchtime, there was only 4 or 5 other tables eating, While the food was nice the service was shocking and rude, We had to wait ages to attract someone's attention to order some drinks, they missed one out after 15 minutes of no one coming back a friend went to the bar to order a glass of wine for his wife, he eas told to go back to the table and the same barman walked round and asked him what he wanted, he already knew but was just being pretentious. Again we had to attract attention to order some nibbles and starters for the table, they all arrived at different times and one was missing this turn up with the main course. When the main course turned up they did not even clear the dirty plates we had to move them to another table, another dish missed off and took ages to attract a waiter. After it was finished ordered a cup of earl grey tea which did not arrive till we paid the bill . We arrived early and had a warm welcome from the host who acknowledged that I had made the booking for an anniversary lunch and said they’d do something special at the end. That was very kind. We were seated promptly and ordered drinks and food. We ordered the veg tempura, the bonsai and steamed rice. The food was lovely unfortunately, we had almost finished the it all with no rice in sight. It wasn’t particularly busy, empty tables and a quiet Monday afternoon but hardly any staff around. Managed to eventually flag down the waiter and asked for the rice to be cancelled as it had not arrived. We only ordered three items off the menu so not sure how you can forget to bring a bowl of rice. Anyway, he didn’t seem too bothered so quick apology and brush under the carpet and it was taken off the bill. The table was cleared, not even offered a dessert menu and so I asked for the bill shortly after. The waiter brought the bill over, handed it to me, well I say handed but he flung it and it ended up hitting my husband in the face (not intentional I’m sure) but all very strange. Perhaps that was the “something special” at the end. We didn’t receive anything, not that we expected it however, probably best not to tell guests you will do something nice and then not deliver. Would I return? Maybe for the food but the service is left much to be desired… Great decor and pretty looking restaurant if you want to take nice pictures. First time at Ivy Asia, although I had visited other Ivy restaurants before and was expecting a certain standard of food and service. Ivy Asia did not disappoint. Starting with the decor, the buzz, presentation, etc, it was the perfect place to take my daughter for her 21st birthday, as it is very instagrammable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service not overbearing. My favourite dish was the “melt in your mouth” miso cod, stunning! The sushi was also great. The reason I gave it 4 stars is the price. There were 6 of us and the bill came to around £140pp with alcohol. Considering the place was packed, I guess it’s affordable for many. I would definitely go again but only for a special occasion because of the price. Also, look out for a surprise when entering the men’s toilets! Quite hilarious!

Food was great, fresh fish and nice sides. The restaurant is also very pretty and the atmosphere is perfect for a fancy night out. However the service is the weakness of this place. The lady that served us didn’t care that much about us, she became a little more interested when we started ordering more food during the night. Still every client has the same worth, so all good we were just a bit disappointed.

I was delighted to visit The Ivy Asia in Chelsea. We went to celebrate my friend’s birthday and ordered the 2-course Asian taste menu, which was exquisite. The atmosphere was incredibly Instagrammable, adding to the overall experience. However, I must admit I was a bit startled by the samurai sculpture in the bathroom.

Great ambiance but unfortunately the food is just average. Ordered a cocktail which never arrived and upon checking, it seems the server forgot to punch the order in the system thought the restaurant only had 2-3 tables busy with guests. 3rd time at an Ivy restaurant and the issue with service tells me that there is something fundamentally wrong with their personnel management. We ordered from the set menu and while the Beef teriyaki was ok, seafood dumplings were not good at all.

Blackened cod is very small for £36 or so. Had to ask where our bottle of wine was as needed a refill. The waiter also cleared my friends plate away whilst I was eating 🙃

Nice restaurant and they’ve obviously invested a lot into how it looks. However the food was really disappointing. Bland food that doesn’t deliver on flavour and really overpriced. My dish was also a bit cold. I ordered the duck spring rolls and they were almost entirely filled with veg. It’s really obvious where they try to increase their margins by compromising on quality.

Went as a group of 7 and service was great from beginning to end. Cocktails were lovely and I appreciated the mention on the menus of the mixologist who created most of the signature ones. Such great way of recognition! Food was great, we all had the experience menu which I found was fairly priced considering the quality and quantity of food! The showstopper was the dessert platter - try it, you won't regret it!

We went to the ivy Asia Chelsea with my 2 best friends for one of their bachelorette celebrations. To start with the positives - The interior is absolutely beautiful, we couldn’t stop looking around and especially at the floor! It’s definitely a place you want to go to at least once purely for the sake of the decor. The staff were amazing and very attentive. I had requested something special for my friend as it was her bachelorette and they didn’t forget. & some of the negatives - The only disappointing part was some of the food. The starters were lovely - we got the popcorn shrimp and the vegetable tempura. I had miso black cod for my main which was absolutely incredible but a very small portion with zero sides for £35 was a little bit steep. Even a small salad or greens would have sufficed but it came with a few slices of radish. As for my friends, they got the schezuan tofu dish which we all agreed was a bit disappointing. It was good, but for over £20 a plate, we were expecting more with the taste and even the presentation. Tasted very much like an average tofu and vegetable meal I could put together at home in 15 mins. On another note - the cocktails were lovely! Overall, the food was okay. For the prices and the atmosphere we definitely expected more. I’d probably come back purely for the decor and experience but maybe I’ll stick to drinks next time!

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Ivy Asia and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The sushi here is truly outstanding—each piece is crafted with the utmost precision and the freshest ingredients. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and artistry behind every dish make it worth every penny. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, perfect for a special occasion or a night out. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy top-tier sushi in a refined setting.

Great food, but only go if you like really stressful environments and don't want to talk to your anyone at your table. There's a DJ playing unnecessarily loud music with speakers above most tables, meaning no one can hear each other. All the tables end up having shouting matches over each other to try and communicate, making it a stressful way to spend the evening.

Dining at The Ivy Asia in Chelsea was an exquisite experience. Eric, our waiter, provided impeccable service, enhancing our evening with his attentive and knowledgeable demeanor. The 2006 Dom Pérignon was a superb choice, its fine bubbles and complex flavors perfectly complementing our luxurious meal. The selection of seafood and caviar was fresh and delightful, each bite bursting with delicate flavors. The wagyu was a highlight, melting in our mouths with its rich, buttery texture. This unforgettable dining experience showcased the best in food, drink, and service.

You'll be paying for the deco which is great, because the food is average. Ordered the wanton starters, expecting little dumplings but was served with crisps with sauces (no fillings). Waitress argued that this is what wanton is. The specialty peking duck was served in a fancy manner but sadly the duck skin was not at all crispy, which is fundamental.

Daphne's offers an overall enjoyable dining experience. The pastas stand out with great flavour and decent portion sizes, though the fish dishes fall short in comparison. The wine selection is impressive, and the elegant atmosphere adds to the dining experience, although the noise level can be a bit overwhelming due to the tightly packed tables and consistently full seating. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par—our waitress lacked attentiveness and warmth, with an attitude reminiscent of the distant, unengaged service often found in old Soviet-style establishments. On a brighter note, the desserts were outstanding—both the panna cotta and tiramisu come highly recommended.

Excellent flavors, freshly prepared, only outmatched by the superior service. Ishbilia needs to be on your list if you like unique dining experiences. Hummus, mixed grill, 5 stars
