Very busy, but no problem on the service. Nice little restaurant.

Waited for over an hour after ordering 2 starters and 2 mains, asked 3 times about our order as people around us had finished 3 courses while our starters nowhere to be seen. The waiter arrived with a garlic bread that neither of us ordered. On that note we decided to leave and won't be returning, worse service I've ever experienced.

Hadn't been here for years, then booked in for a rare night out with my husband. Great service, lovely fresh food, very tasty cocktails and all at a reasonable price. Definitely be going back soon.

First visit, lovely restaurant, impressively busy for a Thursday night. The food was lovely and the service was attentive without being over the top. The pasta dishes we had were really nice and the garlic bread was very tasty. I will definitely return and the prices were very reasonable.

This place is is amazing food is fantastic, staff are fantastic, so tasty like being in Rome ,good portions size will be visiting this place regularly definitely worth a visit xx

Great place for some Italian Cuisine! Food: Quality of the food was great. The garlic bread and pizza toppings were certainly nice. The base of the pizza's are good however not my favourite (they are in the middle between a deep pan and thin crust style). Service: The service was a little longer than expected after ordering our meals. We did have a group of 9 which may have added to the wait time. Could be improved. Atmosphere: Great atmosphere with authentic style decor and ambient music in the background. The restaurant is located on the main road, so parking can be tricky. There is the Romiley station car park or side street parking available.

An amazing Italian restaurant! Everything was cooked fresh and cooked perfectly, I had the whitebait to start and the Tuna steak linguine, both were seasoned perfectly! The cocktails we had were also excellent! I am definitely coming back and recommending this place to friends!

We have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent, service is also great. The Calzone is the best I've had, Penne Arrabiata & Spaghetti Meatballs are also excellent.

Nothing but praise for this restaurant. Went early evening and it was already 3/4 full. A bit noisy but to be expected.

Great choice for an authentic Italian meal

Went on Friday for the first time to the Italian after recently moving near the area and was blown away. Superb venue, service and food was delightful. Can’t wait to return!

I have been visiting the Italian for the best part of 25 years both with family, friends and as a couple. There is a real family friendly and community spirit which is a rare find in a restaurant and this fantastic atmosphere is complimented by even better food. The food is consistently good, tasty and fresh and really captures Italian flavours, highlighted even more so by a recent trip to Italy. Real highlights are the Melanzane Parmigiana (an aubergine bake) despite me not being a vegetarian and also the Filetto Cavour which is a filet steak in blue cheese and white wine sauce. The pizzas are also similarly impressive and I have tried many things on the menu and never been disappointed by anything. There is a good selection of Italian beers including craft beers and cocktails and when you factor in the early bird prices, the value is phenomenal. All in all, recommended! Family run restaurants don’t often survive for 30 plus years unless they are outstanding. Need I say more?

This is the second time I have tried the Italian in Romiley & the second time I have been poorly!! The first time a few years back we got takeout & I was violently sick for 2 days after eating prawns from there. As you can imagine this put me off eating from there again, but putting it down to a one off me & my wife thought we would give it another go. Big mistake! Both myself and my wife have been really poorly since our food. 100% DO NOT EAT HERE

My lady took me for a birthday meal on Saturday night and we have been before but I'm afraid this was so disappointing the starters were ok but we both ordered ribeye steaks for our main course one medium and one medium rare when asked what we would like with it we both said chips ,the steaks were both the same which we accepted but I think the chips were cooked a week before so we left them we didn't complain but for the cost of this meal and the quality we won't be returning

The food here is actually very decent - seems authentic as an Italian menu and I was very pleased to see lots of vegan options - keep it going guys! My one criticism is that it’s so manic busy that it’s almost impossible to have a quiet conversation or a romantic dinner..the restaurant runs ‘family nights’ so it’s a sorely rammed full of multiple families with lots of very loud children - so if you want a romantic evening just beer this in mind

Really lovely restaurant in Romiley that serves a,along food and cocktails. I love that they have a separate vegan menu which is excellent and contains some of the classic Italian dishes that vegans miss out in a lot. The cocktails are really good too. It is a family friendly restaurant but wouldn’t call it a romantic date night restaurant. The staff are really friendly and attentive. They gave great recommendation from the menu too.

The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. The desserts are especially good.

Really lovely local Italien. They managed to fit us in on a busy night. But you are best of booking. Great value anytime but especially on there weekday deal.

Great little gaff, packed on a Wednesday evening, absolute testament to how good the food and drinks menu is in here. The BBQ sauce blew my mind, and the pizza was bang on. Great service from Igor, Millie and Eva.

Finally dined in after many a takeaway from here, and were not disappointed!! The food was absolutely delicious and the service is so friendly. Cocktails were fab and they were able to put certain things on/off each dish as they're all made to order. Lovely evening and we'll be back... a lot!

Always our Friday night treat destination whether sit in or order a take away. My son calls up, orders the food and we collect. Can't fault it. The service and food is fabulous.

FIRST TIME AT THE ITALIAN. Booked a table after friends recommended it to me and after looking up the online reviews and I wasn’t disappointed at all. We went on Sunday, The restaurant was very busy and very lively which made for an incredible atmosphere, the food were absolutely amazing and the STAFF BRILLIANT so friendly and so professional specially Igor, he was so happy and so friendly and he really took the time to look after myself and my family with such care and such professionalism that blown us away. Everything was amazing!!!!! We cannot wait to go back again.

Been coming here for many years never been disappointed. Food is exceptional and great value for money. Staff are brilliant and pleasant and welcoming. We would like them to share the spare ribs recipe however I fear that I will never receive said recipe 🙂

We've been going here a few times now, and every time we go, the food is incredible. It's such a great place to eat with fantastic service and kind staff.. and with the current situation where all facing financially the prices are affordable and very very good for what you recieve.

This was the best night's dining we have had for a long time. It came highly recommended and we now see why. Potion size quality and value all boxes ticked. And the service was very efficient and friendly. We have found our new goto restaurant.

We visited last night as a table of 20 both the food and service were outstanding. Even with such a big party our food arrived at the same time. Real authentic Italian restaurant so much better than a generic chain . Starters brilliant main brilliant and desserts were so good. They have a fantastic selection of cocktails and Italian beers very responsible prices and very family friendly thank you for making an important family gathering so special

My husband & I visited The Italian last Saturday, we've been before and always had nothing to complain about quite the opposite it's always been lovely. However last Saturday we were made to feel humiliated and embarrassed in what was a very busy restaurant! It was very busy, our booked table wasn't ready not a problem we waited near the bar and ordered drinks my husband got his straight away mine wasn't ready so I asked them to bring to the table as it was now ready. We ordered and ate (food as previous was lovely) I ordered a second drink which never came. We then asked for our bill, we checked as we had a feeling we'd be charged for a drink I never got. I explained I'd not had 2 drinks only 1 and the waiter did not believe us! Was very rude and made us me in particular feel awful. He went off spoke to the manager and staff behind the bar twice and finally came back after ten minutes and apologised saying someone forgot the second drink we'd ordered! It was embarrassing, he was rude and quite frankly nasty. Won't be visiting again. Horrid man

We are fairly new to the area but have since been recommended The Italian as a must try by many of the locals. We visited last week with friends and again yesterday with family and honestly it is hands down the nicest italian food we have had for a long time. We ordered a mixture of different starters on both visits and can recommend both the ribs and meatballs are fantastic. For any fish lovers I had the Linguine Marinara on both visits and its was delicious. We went a bit more authentic/traditional on the deserts and had cannoli and tirramasu and then were so so good. Tasty food and great value for money and the servers very friendly and attentative. We will definitely be going here again

WOW, what an amazing place the Italian is, we are a family that loves Italian food. We have travelled to many Italians, our favourite was in York, but it has now closed down we also had another favourite more local to us but I'm sad to say I never thought I would this is by far the best!! we did ring and book, and I would recommend doing so as it's very busy most days. Staff were lovely, the decor is beautiful & honestly the food is amazing I really don't have anything negative I can say. Will now be our go-to.

Never been here before but its reputation precedes it and we weren't disappointed. The menu was extensive with plenty of mouth watering dishes to enjoy. The waiters were friendly and efficient. Although the place was packed, we didn't feel pressured to finish up. When the bill arrived we couldn't believe how reasonable it was - and that just topped off the evening nicely. A++

We went in here on our first date as parents and we’re annoyingly let down. They got my partners food incorrect, which meant we couldn’t eat together and the volume in here reached 11!!!

I went here for my birthday yesterday evening and the food and drinks were absolutely amazing and the service was second to none!the portion sizes for the price are fantastic, my family were so pleasantly surprised by the choice on the menu and the value for money.I would not hesitate to come back again, the fact that it was so so busy on a Sunday evening speaks volumes for the popularity of the restaurant.Also the fab offer for two cocktails for £12 Thurs-sun was just the cherry on top! Food is excellent, very tasty and a great selection, it has really fantastic ambience in the restaurant and feels like you're in Italy. Value wise you come away having eaten very well and not been over charged. Staff and service couldn't be better.

Always lovely food and service when seated, but again, trying to book over the phone is like a scene from a comedy show - need to turn off the loud speaker! And yet again I booked well in advance for a table for 6 and it felt so unorganised we ended up on a 4 table and one of our guests had to eat his starter while holding his plate. Bit of a let down. 😒
