What a wonderful place. Service, helpfulness, quality of dishes - really couldn't be better. Even the humble garlic mushrooms were superb (especially if you accompany them with the excellent house red). Thank you! Not the first time I've been - most certainly won't be the last. Just the atmosphere I love in a restaurant too.

Great tasting food. Would definitely come back for the flavours. Only downside is that we left smelling of oil. Needs ventilation. Maybe sitting upstairs would be better?

Intimate independent Italian restaurant with great food and excellent service. I've only been there once so far, but it was apparent this place has a few regulars who come back for more, and I can see why.

A little gem we pass nearly everyday. There is nothing fancy about the food, just basic great tasting dishes. Definitely a come again place, wish I had found it before now. Lovely evening will be back.

Superb as always. Best Italian food, and as near to authentic as it gets, in the Bramhall / Cheadle Hulme area. Shame Mr d'Agostino can't find any Italian's to employ as waiters but the all-Asian staff are very friendly, professional and helpful.

Had booked for 8 o’clock, arrived at 8 absolute chaos, couldn’t get in the door as there were so many people, had to wait outside till people left. a couple had booked for half 7 but were told to come back at 8, no table ready for us, left in disgust, won’t be going back, seems they may overbook which is not good.

Spaghetti Carbonara with cream! Starters and garlic bread came which were good. The Spaghetti Carbonara came for my wife and daughter. One looked more or less authentic, but the other was swimming in cream! Not sure they know how to cook carbonara if this is how they serve it. Don’t come here often despite living about 400 yards away from the restaurant. Seems very basic and overpriced when ordering a la carte.

We visited this restaurant on a very quiet Tuesday evening & had booked a table for 7.45. We had no complaints about the food as it was really good. We all had starters and a main course. We were surprised at just after 9pm to be brought the bill … that we hadn’t asked for … and told ‘ here’s the bill as we’re closing shortly’! The music was then switched off & they were obviously waiting for us to leave.. I can honestly say that I have never ever been virtually evicted from a restaurant as they wanted to close. Such a shame as I’ve been going to this restaurant ever since it opened but definitely won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

A small Italian restaurant, we got a two-person table without a reservation. We ordered three main courses, but only two were served. The waiter then presented the dessert menu, asking if we wanted anything else. When we inquired about the third main course, the waiter, who had been changed, reminded us of the one-hour dining limit. It was only when we asked about the third main course that he remembered our initial order. The food offered good value for money, including two appetizers, three main courses, and two soft drinks, all under £60. However, the service was lacking, and we won't be returning.

A great local restaurant, with good atmosphere, food and service.

This gem of a restaurant in the heart of Cheadle Hulme village is delightful! The food is absolutely exquisite and the manager is charming. Also open lunchtimes, you simply have to go to experience the food, atmosphere and excellent customer service.

Cheap price but the food reflects that soggy pizza base and a lasagna that could have done with a bit more cooking! Daggers when we asked for the bill for a second time didn't help! Nice 🙂. Cute little restaurant tho. We've been before and it was better but really disappointed tonight

Good authentic Italian food. Very busy went we went but service was still ok. The card machine was not working so we needed to pay cash. We did not have enough and they allowed to bring in the £30 balance the following day, which was nice.

I’ve noticed on a recent review the restaurant has been drastically scored down for struggling to accommodate a family with a pram. All I can say is I have had totally the opposite experience. We live locally and are aware how small the restaurant is. Possibly 2 tables wide, we had a pram and we had a wonderful meal with my 6 year old and 7 month old, high chair, they accommodated our pram, we were upstairs and had no issues what so ever. Service was excellent, food was lovely! Thanks as always x

I've not rated the food or the atmosphere as we didn't get that far. We made the effort yesterday to visit the restaurant to check it would be ok/appropriate if we brought our 3 month old baby and that we would have room for a pram for her to sleep. As we are conscious that this isn't always easy etc. We were told this would be fine and my wife even showed the pram so there was an idea of size - therefore we knew which table was planned for us. My Dad turned up first and was allocated a different table - when we arrived we were told that the original table now had a table of 6, and that our pram wouldn't be able to go where the new table was which was an important reason for going in the day before to check. This was very frustrating given we had made the effort to check. The person we spoke to blamed their colleague but was not sorry in any manner whatsoever. Im not sure we even got any apology. The colleague came out to try and help but basically there were no options available. We therefore had to leave and find somewhere else.....in the rain. Whilst we try and spend our money at independent local businesses, we opted for Gusto where we had a very friendly welcome and great service. It's a shame, because we were looking for somewhere to be a nice local independent Italian for us to go to. But we won't be bothering in the future

Very small so seating is a bit squished. Food is very high quality, never had a bad meal from here.

I've been here quite a few times including my 60th birthday celebrations, I can honestly say I've never been disappointed. Called in last night with my daughter on spec, we were well looked after and as always the food was top notch. We love this place.

Bland beyond belief! I ordered gamberetti pasta... I was suspicious when I could only hear the 'ding ding' of a microwave and no sizzling of a pan. The dish arrived piping hot, served with lemon and courgette slices. It tasted of absolutely nothing! There was no way I was going to sit there ( listening to annoying background music) and enjoying what was presented. I motioned to the young waitress, relayed my complaint, and also to the chef. When asked what was specifically 'tasteless', I replied 'everything on the plate'! ....which was the truth. Seriously.....dismal Ah...and to respond to the owners response... I didn't 'run away', merely 'sauntered ' at my leisure. The only other table of 2 were eating colorless pizza, and made no such remarks or complaints regarding my reaction I'm certain. You stoop very low fabricating such lies. And empty ridiculous threats make you look more of a loser than before......You sad person 🤣.. You changed your unprofessional response! Does this mean I should no longer fear your pathetic threats of 'sending the family ' to me? 🤪 And no such worries ...I would never return to such an unpleasant sad place. ( And there IS a microwave!...ding away 'chef' 😂)

We tried this local, independent restaurant and weren't disappointed. The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We ordered à la carte but noticed that there was a very reasonably priced set menu available Monday to Thursday. Both our starters were lovely (mussels and salad). We followed this with a pizza, which was excellent and the fish of the day - seabass. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked with a side of vegetables. The wine selection is limited but the house wine was absolutely fine and there is the option to bring your own wine if you want something special. It is fair to charge corkage as a small business needs to stay solvent! We were too full for dessert but will try some next time as they looked good. This is exactly what we were looking for - local trattoria, good food, reasonably priced. Can't wait to visit again.

I feel I should review our recent visit & accurately record my findings for your consideration. Firstly I agree with previous reviews something has changed & certainly the garlic mushrooms are not what they used to be here. Similarly the starter breads we all thought the tomato bread very dry. Mains were excellent & cannot fault (we had 4 different mains between the 4) Service by the younger staff was excellent, but kept waiting well over 20 mins by the Manager for the bill we asked for several times. The bill had a service charge already added & for the one bottle of wine we took with us ( limited choice at restaurant & advertised you can take your own for a small corkage charge!) We were charged £8.00 corkage! The only beer available is bottled. Yes it's a small restaurant with limited space split over two floors so tables are quite tight but has a cozy atmosphere.

Disappointed! Booked a table weeks ago for a special occasion and was really looking forward to it. We had cheesy garlic bread and garlic mushrooms to start. The garlic bread was tasty, the mushrooms were standard at best. Mains we had lasagne, which was sloppy, and not presented as you would expect, the linguine a gamberetti was poor, pasta was hard (NOT al dente) extremely bland! We ended up having to put our own Parmasan and peppercorn on our meals. The staff all looked very sad and like they did not want to be there. Quite an uncomfortable atmosphere. When our plates were collected I expressed to a waitress that I was not happy with my meal and asked for the bill, we than had what I assume was another waiting on member of staff as when asked he said he was not management just merely 'here tonight' to address my complaint he was very defensive and responded that the food is always cooked the same. Poor food, poor service, poor atmosphere, poor management. A real disappointment.

I dined here on Saturday night with my girlfriend and I loved the atmosphere straight away Pavarotti whist I ate was amazing and had to have 2 glasses of the house red wine !, superb night I will recommend 👌 mucho gusto x

Very average food - supermarket bought indredients prepared to an okay standard. They use dry pasta and presliced meats. You'd happily eat it if you cooked it yourself for a weekday dinner but it's a long way off restaurant standard. Edit: dropped a star after the response

If your not sure where to park, Waitrose, 50 metres from the restaurant is ideal. Although it's a small place, the food was great, tables a little packed together, meal prices are good value, service a little disorganised but friendly, overall definitely worth a visit.

Came with the eat out to help out offer. Very busy. No one way system but place is so small it would be difficult to do. Food and service good only gripe, staff not wearing masks or visors didn't take our number for track and trace. Need more signs for covid alert as some people my need reminding. Very hot inside no air con. Pleasent staff always smiling.

The woman on the phone was absolutely spectacular with handling customer service. Definitely consider a pay rise!The food was EXTRAORDINARY. I ordered the pepper steak that came with beautiful veg and a garlic bread with cheese. After a long day of work it completely filled my appetite. It came even quicker than the ETA. Being a keen coffee drinker and supported of small business, i gave the new sister business next door a go! I need to go back to reassess! Hard to call it when very quiet but decent coffee. A little lacking in atmosphere and i thought the interior needs some more of a friendly feel. A touch stark.

My son and fiancee made a special arrangement for my favourite menu items from my favourite Italian restaurant to be delivered for my birthday tea. Garlic mushrooms, biscetta al pepe, and tiramisu cooked delivered to perfection.

I wrote my first review for this place 6 years ago so I thought it was about time I updated it. We continue to enjoy this restaurant time after time! We now live in Cheadle Hulme and so have the pleasure of having this restaurant on our doorstep. It has such a lovely, local, independent feel and the food always keeps us coming back.

I'd heard good reports about this restaurant so we went with friends.I'm not sure what I was expecting, but was underwhelmed by what I had. The mixed antipasto was ok but nothing special. My steak diane likewise, tasty but nothing to make me want to rush back.The service was godo with friendly waitress

My wife had booked a table days in advance. Babysitter booked. Excited due to having always wanted to eat here. On arrival, no record of booking and no solution to the problem. Was literally turned away and had to eat cheaply in the area. Appalling.

We had sphagetti bolognese for lunch but the sauce was very bland in flavour and watery. There wasn't enough garlic or seasoning either. The minced meat was chunky not finely minced, pasta wasn't fresh pasta. I could make a better spaghetti bolognese at home. Won't be returning.

Came here with my sister and partner for dinner and had brilliant food as usual. Staff very friendly and a relaxed atmosphere.

When my grandson comes to stay he always wants to eat at Trattoria D'Agostino in Cheadle Hulme on his last evening. It's a real treat for both of us, We both love Italian food and the chef here is excellent. I wish I had his recipe for Spaghetti Bolognaise! The garlic pizza bread is a great side for this meal. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overpowering. There are no minuses to eating here! Also very close to Waitrose to enable you to pop in for forgotten groceries or to purchase a bottle of wine for the meal, and to make use of their car park!

Two recent visits have not disappointed and we have been pleased to support a local independent restaurant. Prawn starter and salmon pasta main both delicious!

Our son and daughter-in law treated me to a meal as a present. It was on her birthday as well. It was a very good idea and an excellent experience. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was terrific. It is not large but an excellent venue. You can take your own wine

I went to this restaurant for my Grandads birthday and it was brilliant. My grandad wanted to come here cause he works there I had some garlic bread and a pepperoni pizza and that was really enjoyable for a night out. very nice place to eat I definitely suggest you come, if you guys go enjoy your meal

This place keeps growing on me. From tge odd visit to now more regular! Tge sign of quality is the consistency of the offer. Here the food never dissapoints! Always friendly staff and given the cosycseating always a good atmosphere. With bring your drinks, this place really is a win win!

Small inside but there is an upstairs but very homely. Friendly staff and owner with freshly cooked food to order. Take your own drink is a bonus! Its a good place thix but dont sit next to the door!

Visited here for friends birthday meal and we had a large table upstairs... quite small inside and everything seems a little squashed in. That said, it was busy, friendly with a good atmosphere and you also have the option to take your own drinks.

Great Italian food- especially the 5 course special evening. The pasta was better than at River Cafe and we eat there regularly.

This is a fabulous restaurant with wonderful home cooked honest Italian food the staff are very friendly and helpful and the quality is excellent in traditional surroundings. It’s a bring your own wine too it just doesn’t get much better.

The restaurant although looks small there is room upstairs where we were placed. There were 12 of us round the long table. We brought our own drinks although soft drinks were available. The meal was lovely being spaghetti with meat balls. There were a selection of entrees which wee enjoyed by those who ate the same. There were also puddings available and again enjoyed by those who ate the same. The atmosphere was good and the service was first class. You did not have the feeling that you needed to leave as the table was needed by other patrons Had a nice relaxing enjoyable time.

Risotto ok but a tad watery. Worried that from being a small and intimate eatery that it's become a mainstream 50 seat Italian. 3* would be mean. 4* generous.

How one man can do so much in so small a place I and am sure hundreds of others don't understand. He must have a wand and a top hat, (not seen rabbit on the menu yet.) The food is great, the service is great and you will love the bill.

There's a reason this little place is always booked up! I can't believe how long I've lived in this area and not been but will now be a regular after having an excellent meal there. My friend was visiting me and we always end up getting a takeaway or going to the pub for a meal but fancied something a bit nicer. I was seriously blown away by how good it was - gorgeous homemade pasta, plenty of pescetarian options and lovely atmosphere.

Spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne and pizza all very poor. Sea bass was ok. We had looked forward to trying this restaurant but won't be returning. Waitress was rather sullen. Surely it's not difficult to make a decent bolognaise sauce that isn't watery and tasteless.

Fairly small restaurant near to Waitrose. We hadn't booked but friendly staff offered table provided we vacated before it was needed for others who had. Excellent service, excellent meals & v reasonably priced. Friday night dinner ? ...... just what we wanted

Six of us booked last night for 6.30pm Wednesday 29th August 2018. We all had a great experience of authentic Italian food. With 4 of us it was our first time (me included) and not to be disappointed. We took our own wine in and just paid a small corkage charge. The management and waitresses were first class, and the food just simply gorgeous. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
