The Ironstone Miner in Redcar and Cleveland

Great place, been coming here for over 10 years when we visit the area. Lovely sun terrace at the front for summer, and a whopping great real fire inside for the winter! Food is great and the choice of drinks is endless. All the real ales are dirty cheap and always in great condition. Definitely one of my favourite 'spoons 👍🏻

Great value cooked breakfast and coffee for less than £5. Would recommend.

With multiple choices of Wetherspoon pubs on the way home from Redcar, a deviation up in elevation to Guisborough brought me to a place where people are ore like my people. The atmosphere is magic, away from the bustling shore.

Food is served quite quickly and is always good value. Nice place with plenty of seating.

Came here Good Friday. We ordered cold chicken wraps. The wraps hadn't been moistened and were like eating dry cardboard. I've had them many times at various wetherspoons, but have to say this was very poor. We were very disappointed. Also tables were left cluttered and those that were available needed wiping.

Great pub in great location with friendly staff

My wife and I ordered wraps and waited about 20 mins. When served it was Luke warm ( cold ) . I raised it with waitress and it was taken back and it was warmed up by microwave. It was soggy and not very appetising when returned 10 mins later? Won’t be going back??

Really nice clean place well decorated n quick service

Crazy busy on Saturday night, sooo loud, we stayed outside in 4° to eat. Breakfast the next day - app didn't register for anyone but staff tried their best. The hot drink machines needed topping up with everything, milk, coffee, etc. It won't stop us going of course!

Lovely all day breakfast ,had a booth which adds to the ambience, the steak my nephew chose was too tough ,I chopped it up for my dog and he couldn't eat it

Went in to weatherspoons in Guisbrough for a friends birthday. I was stood at the bar 20 minutes understand there were busy but were serving everyone who came in the pub first. I made a comment about it and the Manager told me he was the manager swore at me and told me to get out. Absolutely disgusting I understand that there were busy but there was no need how he spoke and shouted at me. Think I will be sticking to the Plimmy in Redcar from now on.

Pub food always good value and service good

As usual the coffe machines are prone to run out of milk, coffee etc....but today there was a complete lack of almost everything and despte informing three or four members of staff it continued in this vein for the full hour we were there..

Called for a few beers. Very good prices and selection of lagers and beers. Very busy as a restaurant as well.

Good choice of Food at very reasonable prices, including a drink. We needed lunch in guisborough and this was really the only option suitable. Toilets were lovely and clean. Got the after 2pm offer so 2 small meals for just over £12.

Best spoons in the area.fantastic staff. They really don't mind me being fussy about changing items on my breakfast.

Worst ran Weatherspoons on teesside, 8 bar staff for every four people at the bar yet nobody has a drink. Go to Redcar or Middlesbrough instead. Rubbish.

Visited here for breakfast this morning with friends and was extremely impressed. It was cosy and warm with spotless facilities and I was particularly impressed with the toilets-immaculate. All staff were friendly and polite too 😀. Highly recommend.

Not my cup of tea, Tea is awful. Typical wether spoon. Not my idea of child friendly, gambling machines and alcohol too prominent.

Our waiter (tom) was very kind and delivered our delicious food very fast ! However my brie and bacon burger came without bacon 🤨 my friend also ordered the same but he realised before he ate it and our lovely waiter Tom fixed it.

This is one of the nicer Wetherspoons I have been in. Modern. Good toilets. Great staff. Yes. Very good!

Food was nice, service of the food was quick as always. However the lady with the long brown low ponytail seems out to get me! Made me feel uncomfortable and wanted to leave sooner.

Id post a 0 star if I could..Tables are disgusting and always dirty.. called it varnish on the tables (yeah varnish my arse too look that dirty) LMAO and for my food, Jesus christ A SPRINKLE OF RED ONION on my burger and ONE GHERKIN 🤣🤣🤣 SORT IT OUT

Cheap as chips! Ironically I haven't tested the food. Beer is consistently good and a great selection. Nice atmosphere for being a bit of a barn.

Friendly atmosphere, very obliging staff and affordable meals and drinks

My husband and I had food and drinks here a couple of times while visiting the area for the week. Great prices, typical wetherspoons food. The wait times were quick! Place did get very busy at times during the day with college students, and it was difficult to find a table indoors. We preferred visiting in the evenings for this reason.

We used to love this pub but tables always dirty..ran out of the correct glasses for drinks..all on bar waiting to be cleared and washed .food tonight was cold so had to be sent back.incorrect order ..promotion but not busy so unsure why this was the case..staff need training in customer service..nice but unsure how to deal with problems. Others in pub having the same problems..shame as used to be one of the best..

Pretty quiet for a Sunday night but not a bad night at all. Had food and drinks and everything was great. Cheap and cheerful but over all a good place to go.

We came into the Wetherspoon with a table of 5. One person in our party had food allergies and the menu and staff were very helpful, adjusting the breakfast to suit this. We ordered 4 traditional breakfasts and a porridge. The drinks we ordered were a pineapple juice and refillable coffees. The food was really good value and was really tasty. The waiter brought us our food really quick. It all went down quick! It is on the Guisborough high street which means if you are doing some shopping in the area, it is a good place to stop off.

Went in today 5 mins past 1. My husband placed the order. Sausage and mash and a panini. We waited 20 mins. Asked were our order was. They weren't busy. Husbands sausage and mash arrived twenty five mins past 1. It looked dried up as if it had been reheated. He ate half of it. My panni hadn't arrived. I said I wanted my money back. I presume I spoke to the manager. She said the panini machine had broken down twice. Did I want something else ? I declined. She gave us back £10.50. The bill was £18. Thinking about it later. I didn't have anything to eat. She wasn't refunding anything. Only my husbands dried up meal. We won't be going back.

It's usually busy here. The staff are not quick on clearing and wiping tables. Also, the portion sizes are not as good as they used to be.

Shame they don’t know what toast is supposed to look like and the coffee machines are always off

Didnt eat but cocktails were cheap and great. Only issue only 2 or at one point 1 member off bar staff so sitting outside tables were getting filled with empty glasses we took some back ourselves which wasn't a problem .

I suspect this is why Weatherspoons is so popular. We were a family with 3 adults and 2 infants, looking for a place for lunch. Great atmosphere inside and and out, not too busy, good service good food at a fair price, and an impressive selection of beers. Ticks all the boxes. It was a lovely summer's day, so that helped. Apart from guide dogs, I don't think dogs are allowed, but they have installed a lift, so wheel chair access is OK. Certainly visit there again.

The meal, service and atmosphere we sampled in this venue, didn't work for me..Only one bar staff, tables not very clean it looked untidy..Not a venue I enjoyed visiting..

Reson for lower food rating is because my partners meal & chips was very cold, my meal was just warm quite cool. We were hungry and on a journey so we ate it but my partner did not enjoy his totally cold chip.

I had coffee here at 11am but by noon the place was a buzz with people much younger than myself. It was quite an atmosphere

We went there for a lunch and all I can say is AMAZING , the food was soooooo delicious the staff were really good and the prices are soooooo cheap, I wish we have more those pubs here in UK, it’s really big inside and outside, for sure will go back again while we here in Uk

Quiet pub to say it's wetherspoons on a Monday ordered food chips warm not hot as you want them staff out of way talking left your plates on table ! Like wetherspoons not that one .

This review is based on this particular visit. Not every visit. We ordered the paninis, and I must say, it's not too long since I've had one here, and also at another wetherspoons, and the size of the panini has halved. The meal isn't worth it now. I should have gone to the bakery down the road, lol. Oh, and 88p for a few slices of onion 🧐

Cheap and cheerful is probably the best description. Beer is exceptionally cheap and coffee is replenished free of charge. Can be noisy in the evenings but ok at most lunchtimes.

Ordered two small fish and chips. Mine was miserably teeny tiny, literally about two inches of fish! Seriously! and the rest was just batter. CHEF NEEDS TO GO TO SPECSAVERS. My partner's portion was twice the size of mine. The waitress seemed to find it all so amusing. I'll never order from here again. We had just been to the jewellers to order wedding rings and this was supposed to be a celebration. More of a damp squib. Horrid service. Shame on you Wetherspoons.

Can't beat the Thursday night Curry Night. Great value for money.

Proper friendly pub in Guisborough a must to visit

Ordered Cajun chicken, brought me lemon and herb chicken, when I told them it was the wrong meal, it was taken away and brought back drizzled with some sort of sauce. It was grey and really not very nice, it had been cooked that long that the bones were soft and we're just crumbling. Nobody ever came and asked if our meals were ok, then after we had finished about an hour and a half later they came to take the plates away I had to tell him that it was awful and the mixed grill my friend had, the pork chop was raw. He replied that he would tell the kitchen.. he never came back with any sort of apology or excuse..

I wish our local Weatherspoons was as good

Ordered an English breakfast, delicious but eggs overcooked and beans were cold. Other than that can't really complain. One of the cleanest wether spoons I've visited.

Once again coffee machine not working properly.
