The Irish Bar in Conwy

I have been going in here every time that I am in Llandudno, I will never enter this place again. Myself and my son in law walked in just after ten o’clock on the 15th February, there were customers sat outside with full pints on the table. We were greeted with we’re closed, not that this bothered me but it was the attitude and way it was said. The staff at this bar are usually great but whoever was behind the bar that night needs a refresher on customer relations. I have had many a meal and drink in here but no more, money spends anywhere.

Although the lady behind the bar was friendly it wasn't enough to make us want to visit again. While waiting to be served I noticed my feet stuck to the floor and once seated I also noticed my arms were stuck to the table. There are so many other places to eat and drink in Llandudno, we'll try them instead

We spent NYE here , fab group of people to welcome 2024 in with. Staff were brilliant. We didn't see any food but heard good reports from the locals

A good 5 star beer's are nice and cool staff are very welcoming and friendly. They can't do enough for you. Thanks again and we will see you soon

You'd expect a bar called "Irish Bar" to pull a great pint of Guinness. When charging £5.70 for that pint you'd expect it to be amazing. Sadly it wasn't. Guinness in the amazing Weather spoons building 5 mins away is £3.88 and was better. Far too expensive.

Went here tonight with my family. Being Irish living nearby and my Dad over from Ireland on holidays we decided to try here. Booked a table and from start to finish the whole experience was delightful. Service was excellent, sorry I didn't get both of your names to thank you personally. Drinks arrived quickly followed by food that was lovely! Try the bacon and cabbage everyone! Puddings were divine too...compliments to the chef. Loved the ambient atmosphere with Irish tunes playing which my Dad loved. Thank you and we will be back

Great, friendly and lively bar 'serving great Guiness' and hosts live music weekends, the rock band on Saturday 7 October were absolutely brilliant . Great atmosphere and well worth a visit.

Just came in for a drink and also had the steak and guiness pie..it was absolutely lovely piping hot and you could taste the guiness. Definitely recommend..staff were very welcoming and friendly, great music too. Will ve back soon.

We have been to the Irish Bar a good few times before, but this was our first visit since my husband had a major stroke in January that has left him disabled and partially sighted. I messaged the bar to ask if they had a disabled toilet - I received a reply within 30 minutes (none of the other bars in Llandudno I messaged to ask bothered to reply!). We were there midweek so it was quiet but that was what we wanted as it was our first trip since my husband had come out of hospital. The music was brilliant, the staff helpful, chatty and really friendly; having an accessible toilet on the main floor was such a bonus and the fact that the barman asked a couple of people to move their chairs so I could help my husband access the loo was invaluable. If you are looking for somewhere that is accessible/disabled friendly, with great atmosphere and really kind staff - this is your place. We will be back next year - save us a seat!

Actually we received a decent welcome and were well served by a young barman here. However after receiving a chicken burger which I ordered, the burger (burnt on the outside) was only partially cooked in the middle and obviously presented a huge health risk. We returned the meal to the chef. End of story and contact from staff!! No replacement offered. No refund offered. Marks out of 10.... Zero!! .... which is a shame, as the chips were ok. Its hard to run a good restaurant, and its easy to run a restaurant badly.... I'm afraid these guys took the easy option. VERY BAD!

We were made very welcome by Dillan and staff and by a group of friendly regulars when we visited The Irish Bar to celebrate the 100th birthday of our Irish mother. Brilliant night of singing and dancing, including the 100 year old!! Everyone made a great fuss of our Mammy and she loved being the Star of the Show. Dillan sang to her and made her cry with joy! A night we will never forget. Thank you all so much.

This is the second year we've been to Llandudno and following our brilliant experience at the Irish Bar last year we made a bee-line straight for it again. The owners/ management and staff are so friendly and accommodating and we had a real craic with them all, especially Dylan who is an absolute star. Superb pint of Guiness; lots of laughs and a brilliant time!!! Unfortunately, we had to cut short our break unexpectedly which meant we didn't get chance to go back for another couple(!) of pints and to say so-long but we'll definitely be back in the future. Slainte!

Went mid sunday afternoon - very pleasant welcome - made to feel at home. Good choice of food and served by very cheerful barman. Helped us with our choice. Good service and when food came very enjoyable indeed.

Amazing place.. as an Irishman living in the uk with no plans to travel back to Ireland (unlike truckers) I had a great time there.. they really made my night.. the town was amazing... but the staff was brilliant... a great chat.. you could go on you own... and trust me.. your not on your own..they treat you like family.. the hapaney bridge behind the bar gives you the small part.. the staff give you the rest.. would love to come back again.. and I will do

Went for a meal with my husband, small portions just warm served on cold plates could be better but more importantly keep an eye on your bill when we asked for the bill it came with the addition of a drink we hadn't had and it was nothing like the ones we had been drinking, when we queried it the girl quite flippantly said I'll take it off for you without a explanation as to why it was there in the first place.

Bitter was beautiful nicest pint i have heard in Llandudno (and I have been to a fair few whilst on holiday) big thumbs up 🍺🍺🍺

Went in here for a afternoon drink and we could take the Dog in , the man serving need to put a smile on his face even if you don't want to be there be tend you do , Drink was fine.

Today we went into this restaurant while on a weekend away. When my partner walked in a staff member barked at him ”mask on” there was nobody else in the whole restaurant with a mask on which he pointed out and she gave him a snotty response back! we all had masks it wasnt an issue at all putting them on... I work in a customer facing job & wouldn't dare speak to customers the way she spoke to him in front of everyone so rude & no need for it .Then we ordered. The prices aren't cheap which is fair enough if the food is nice! I had a wrap my wrap was definitely stale as the bread was hard! also the chips were luke warm not worth the money at all! Also the same girl who barked at my partner scowled at my five year old for being in the way when she was trying to take away the plates (that had also been left on the table for about 30 mins after we had all finished eating).Having said all of the above, a lovely girl called Lauren served us after the girl who was rude! She was very pleasant!

Been here pre-covid and it’s great to be able to eat here again. Good selection and quick service. Tasty meals and all table service. Extra tick for dog friendly.

Got a shock when I called into this restaurant greeted by a friendly member of staff shown to our table ordered the lasagna when it arrived it was piping hot and looked to good to eat but i got stuck in it was fantastic next time I am in Llandudno i will definitely call in again

Tonight the 22/9/20 went to the irish bar for a meal our first time i had the HOME MADE CHILLI i think it was home made by iceland no taste very bland when the waitress asked if the meal was ok i told her it was terrible she laughed my wife had the lasagna which she said was ok perhaps i was unlucky but we will not be going back so go there but don't have the home made chilli.

Visited here while on holiday in Llandudno. Dog friendly place,water and biscuits provided. Varied menu. Extra salad served with lasagne when mum didn't want chips. Ham egg & chips looked very tasty and the beef/guiness pie also very good.

My wife and I ate and drank there today. Just a butty and chips, pint of Guinness and a bottle of Desperado. We was served by a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. Can't fault the place We'll definitely return

Stopped in as we were walking round Llandudno, very pleasantly surprised had some drinks that work great and then ordered food which was fab def worth a stop by when in the area!

Stumbled upon this bar while away for 3 days. Amazing friendly place lots of fun, great owners and staff, Spend 3 days sat in the sun with great atmosphere and great service. If you want a chilled out place where you can chill and relax this is the place to go. We will visit again.

Didnt eat there, but a friendly and warm bar for a drink. The food did look good as it passed us. Can see this as a popular place to visit again when next in Llandudno.

We stayed in Lllandudno for a few days and ate here three times as we just loved it. The staff were great and the food was freshly cooked and very good. Getting a table wasn't always that easy but when we did it was worth every penny and no rush to leave.

Friends and I called into here to finish our night. The manner in how the staff were speaking to another group of customers was nothing but shocking. The group of men were told to ‘sshhh’ when there didn’t appear to be excess noise coming from their table. When the group of men said when leaving quietly that they wouldn’t be returning the rude bar staff said ‘that’s fine’. Very disappointing to see this kind of attitude when tourism has already been badly hit this year. I won’t be returning to this bar and would not recommend it

Had an over night stay in Llandudno, stumbled upon this place, reasonably priced drinks, covid aware, friendly staff and lovely owner. Had a great chat, with i had longer to go back again for a 2nd visit. Worth popping in for a warm irish welcome!

Ate and drank here twice during our stay. Great staff, lovely food and a nice atmosphere. Had a couple of great burgers. Reasonable prices for food and drink.

avoid the irish stew. Definately not worth the money the gravy stuff was so runny with grease floating on the top

Visited the Irish Bar several times during a short break to Llandudno. The owner is Mick who is a funny and friendly guy. The outside area was always packed and the prices of the drinks and food were very reasonable. I will visit here again on my next trip to Llandudno.

Have had the most fantastic food and service in this amazing place.What more can I say just loved it so much.

This was third time we visited the Irish Bar. We are a family of four and visited the bar for our supper. The food was good quality,however three out of the four meals were only served. After 10 minutes the staff were politely asked where the fourth meal was. We were told, without explanation of the issue, that it was on its way. Another 10 minutes passed where I again asked where the fourth meal was, I was told it was one of those things and it was on its way. After articulating my displeasure the fourth meal eventually appeared. I guess,to supposedly pacify us, and probably to achieve full payment, I was presented with 2 packs of haribos for the kids. This female member of staff was rude, dismissive and shouldn’t be working in the service industry. There is an Irish lady, a chap called Mick and lady who seems to work all hours there who are fantastic and are a credit to the business- they have been let down by their colleague. We will not revisit.

Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and accommodating. Good food and the lasagne was very tasty, hubby enjoyed the lamb shank.

Mick was a brilliant hoat whilst we were here. The staff were really attentive and responsible with the current climate. Meant to be a 'stop' going to other places on Llandudno but happily got stuck here!!

We stumbled across this pub as the children were very hungry and it did 'normal food'. The staff were very friendly and flexible with menu tweaks which is always helpful with children. The vegetable lasagne was spot on.

My husband and I had a meal here. Menu very basic. Had to send my meal back as it was cold in the middle which can only mean it's been microwaved. My husband had Guinness pie which was more like soup it was so runny. Think we counted 3 very small pieces of meat in it, the rest was some kind of watery gravy. Quite shocked that if you eat inside you get the 50 percent off your meal Mon Tues Wed deal but if you have/choose to sit outside then you don't get it. How is that fair? Your still eating there and not taking it away. Oh and a lovely smell of weed while your eating from the flats upstairs. Heaven - not!

We enjoyed an hour sat in the sun at the bar. The staff are so friendly and they were always on hand, helping make people comfortable and disinfecting tables. We enjoyed the sandwiches too.

Looking for somewhere for our evening meal and came across this place.The menu looked okay so myself and my partner decided we would go in.We ordered Guinness pie and a classic burger.The burger was just a burger in a bun no salad or garnish of any sort, frozen chips that had been cooked too long as they were hard and crispy.The Guinness was okay but again just peas on a plate and frozen chipswich. We would definitely not recommend or be returning ourselves.

The Irish bar serves good food in a relaxed and pleasant environment. The lamb shank was tender and tasty. The beef burger with bacon and hash browns was great. Staff were friendly and relaxed so we really enjoyed our visit there

love this place. Was looking for a dog friendly place to eat. So glad we found here. As soon as we walked in salvador (my lab) was given water and treats! Such a nice touch. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Deffo recommend 👌

Really fun vibrant bar, even during the ‘lockdown’ staff very friendly, go over and above, manager should be proud! The chilli nachos are amazing, almost as good as the Baby Guinness’! The manager is always around and he treats his staff with great respect. Can’t wait to revisit 5*

Would recommend as somewhere with atmosphere and a large selection of drinks, would go again of an evening as it definitely has much happening than other places

Friendly staff, good prices on drinks and a decent menu to choose from...nachos are perfect for sharing, decent fish & chips, Guinness & steak pie is perfect. Also dog friendly

Tired of looking for somewhere to eat we came across this little bar around 4pm new years eve. Walked in to a warm welcome from the staff and a artist playing live country music.The menu wasnt huge but there is somethin for evryone and the staff are willing to cater for your needs I had the steak and onion baguette minus the baguette and couldn't believe the size of steak i was given cooked absolutely perfect to my liking with sald and coleslaw ( i didnt want the fries either) absolutely delicous. I wa staying in a 4 star hotel but just couldnt face another 5 course meal and to be honest the standard of this meal beat the hotel hands down, washed down with half a lager i felt like i had had the best meal on the holiday. I will be back and back again now ive found this little gem Ten out of Ten for food and staff all fabulous.

My wife and I happened upon the Irish on a walk around Llandudno. I was hungry and losing the will to live and we had our dogs with us so it was a case of sitting outside to eat or find a dog friendly place which you don't get many places that cater for dogs, but the Irish bar was great.Friendly and attentive staff who were great with our pooches. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere nice and relaxing.This was our first visit and would definitely come back again.

atmosphere was very warm, food was delicious however the menu says steak and Guinness pie but when it came to the table was only a slice.

Irish bar waitress was really friendly and very helpful. food overpriced for a sandwich but it was nice .Had 8 month old baby with me. High chair was not clean. Also had to change her nappy on the floor of the disabled toilet that needs addressing a baby change pull down shelf at least. Place is dog friendly so that was good for us as we had our dog as well .The waitress gave her water and a dog biscuit .A few tweaks and this would get full marks

We chose here on a sunday evening because it had live music. We weren't disappointed. EVERYBODY in the bar was singing and some dancing. Great atmosphere. Cocktails weren't bad either

Always spend time in this bar when we visit Llandudno.If you get the chance take in a Friday or Saturday night it's a great craic the staff are brilliant and welcoming,food was great too.Always a good pint.Look forward to returning next year though I promise I won't put an ice bucket on my head this time .

This bar remains a good find if you enjoy a lively night out, good atmosphere and nightly live music. This is not traditional Ireland, but it doesn’t pretend to be! There is a good Irish theme, some lovely Irish bar staff, nice pub food and a good craic!! Popular with locals and visitors alike. Even open Christmas Day evening which is also a rare find in town! Well worth a visit and good Guinness pulled properly.

We visited on a 'quiet' Tuesday night and the atmosphere was amazing. Mick was such a nice, friendly bloke he sorted food for us even though we were a little bit late Then it emerged he had a agreed to let a local singing group perform because their usual venue was being refurbished. They were great fun and we had a brilliant night. Can't recommend this place too much.

We visited with our dog early evening. They could not do enough dog had treats and water the cocktails were great and not a bad pint of Guinness.

Called in here on sunday night with my wife. 2 very nice pints of Guinness, I could of drank more but we were off for our evening meal. Nice little place and helpfull staff. We will call in again on next vist to Llandudno. Jef and Pearl. PS. this place is dog friendly.

We first called in on a Friday evening but the kitchen had closed, We had a dog with us and the barman was very helpful and directed us to a nearby pub which was still serving food and was also dog friendly. We were going to go back for a drink but it was packed out and we couldn't get back in, They have live music Weds - Sun. We went back to eat on Saturday evening and were offered water and dog treats for our dog, We had intended staying to listen ot the band but again it became very busy and very loud and we felt the band would be too much for the dog.

Me and my wife went on a last minute getaway, and the first bar we went to was here. Well what can I say, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Emily what a cracking girl, although it was a little busy Emily still made time to come and chat to us, drinks were flowing and so was the banter. We can’t recommend enough.

Having visited Fountains the previous day- we went for a drink at this bar the following day- the staff were very friendly as were the customers- the beer was nice as well. It was a pleasure to visit- having been to The Fountains Bar which is directly over the street.

We went to this bar as it was recommended.Its a friendly bar and also had live music on the friday and saturday night. It does get very busy but has a lovely atmosphere.

We took our dog with us and were made so welcome, the food is so good and everyone is so friendly. I have been here on a number of visits both alone and in company and have never been disappointed with anything

Visited the area for one nights stay Bank Holiday Monday whilst we were having a walk around we found this lovely run Irish bar and sat outside in the sunshine we only had drinks but i can definately say they keep a very good pint of San Miguel and the white wine was lovely also we stayed for an hour or so and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. All the staff were very cheerful and obliging.We had a marvellous afternoon it took a wrench to actually leave and walk on.

Sat outside and watched the world go by very comfortable seats outside we had Carlsberg and a cider and this came to £8.00 .downside is the toilets are down some steep stairs didn’t see a disabled toilet so unsure if there was one

Called in Saturday 10 August. Ordered a pint and a half of lager, and two chicken and bacon with Mayo Paninis .

Spent a few hours during our stay at this lovely little bar people watching in the sun.After sampling several bars in town this was our favourite.

Great little find, we had just taken the dog up the Orme and were quite peckish. It's great that it's dog friendly, bowl of water and a few treats for our pooch. We had honey glazed sausage as a little extra and some loaded fries which really hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere even during the day, gutted that we were not staying close enough to sample the nightlife at the bar.

Came here for the weekend for my birthday with my partner..we intended to go in a few pubs as we usually do when we visit Llandudno but the amazing atmosphere made it impossible for us to leave the Irish Bar.

Went to this pub on first day of stay and chatted to the landlord Mick, a very welcoming and friendly man. The guinness was in good form. we went the next night for the live entertainment and had a great evening with Mick doing most of the entertaining.

As with all Irish bars , was made to feel very welcome, with a good lively atmosphere. Our Jack Russell terrier was also made to feel very welcome, Although the food was plain, it was plentiful and reasonable priced

Came here on a Friday evening with my partner and our cocker spaniel who was welcomed with lots of fuss and treats. We went around 6pm and it was already pretty busy. We only had one course, a beer and a cocktail as we were tired from the drive down but what a lovely place. Food was quick to arrive and tasty, my veggie lasagne was very nice and my partners burger was huge, good value for money compared to other places in the area. Staff are so friendly, they can't do enough for you. Will definitely return next time we are in the area!

Me and my husband came down for a few nights away during the week, their was entertainment on which was outstanding. The lady behind the bar Emily no words can explain her work ethic! From the minute we arrived until the minute we left constant drinks, checking if everything was ok! You never get service like this anywhere else in Llandudno. We will certainly be coming back.

popped in for lunch. I thought we were greeted well, the staff loved our dog. Water and treats for him. Drinks and food for us. I had a lovely burger and my better half had the carbonara....mine was good but hers was better. I haven't see her face look like that since the day she met me. Haha. Well worth a visit. Trip up the great Orme followed by lunch. This place right next to where we parked. Extremely dog friendly (water and treats supplied) was the main reason we went in and weren’t disappointed. The hosts were extremely friendly and the food was excellent, freshly prepared and very good value. Would recommend a drop in if in the area.

Must admit we only stopped here for a drink because we intended to eat elsewhere. We sat outside and found people to chat with, then we saw the food coming out and it looked very good. We decided to eat there. I had the homemade lasagne, which was delicious I could honestly say the best one I've had in a long time. Good out door space for eating or drinking. I would recommend a drink or a meal here. The staff where friendly and cheerful. Good atmosphere.

Out for a stroll and looking for somewhere to have an evening meal, we decided to give the Irish Bar a try. As soon as the meal arrived and my wife had tasted her meal her words were "we'll not be back here". The meal at best was average and the general atmosphere in the place was poor.

Visited last week with friends . Whilst plenty of Irish memorabilia not really an “ Irish” pub . Good Guinness though . Johnny the barman was really helpful and friendly. Needs music

Stopped here for a coffee after a very windy and wet walk around Llandudno! Dog friendly which was great as we had our little one with us! Coffee was average, but staff were friendly and welcoming!

Very friendly staff and attentive to our needs. There was only one other couple inside, but several people sitting outside. We ordered food which was served quickly enough, however it was nothing special, in fact after reading so many reviews raving about the lamb shank, my husband was a little disappointed. If you are looking for Irish music and a friendly atmosphere, this little bar delivered, but sadly the food could have been better and the portions I felt were rather small.

Recent two day stay in Llandudno, visited bar for beer and quick bite to eat. Despite obviously busy Easter period ,staff so friendly and efficient. Everything done with a smile! Couldn't help but call back!

Went to Irish bar on Wednesday as had noticed there was entertainment on the night. The inside felt more like a standard café/bar and when music started nobody seemed interested and subsequently no atmosphere.

We visited on Easter Sunday. Food was amazing even my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter loved it. Staff where amazing very friendly, chatty and even gave the children some bubbles. It was just a lovely atmosphere with the Irish music playing. Would highly recommend.

Just popped in here as we were passing & it was raining what a welcome. tremendously welcome & friendly couldn't fault the hospitality & got busy as we were there I had a Guinness of corse been that it's st Patrick's weekend I had the rodeo chips my wife had the ccg chips can't fault either dish very hot & delicious & large portions

Can’t beat live music and local cheer, the Irish bar has both in abundance! The place was rammed and rightly so. Everyone there was really friendly and up for a good time.

Went here with my Mum and Dad tonight. Great location in Llandudno town centre with very friendly staff and a lovely, cosy atmosphere. Great job guys! 5*!

What a brilliant little bar, wide selection of gins and some food Irish whiskey. I recommend the Powers, really smooth blend of Irish whiskeys makes for a great drink. Staff are friendly and atmosphere lively.

Out for a NYE beach walk and after a warm comfoy and friendly bar for lunch that also allowed the dogs in. Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a team who were very friendly and accomodating to our furry family members. Will look forward to visiting again...especially when the bear garden is ready.
