Bit of a mixed bag. Location is amazing and the building is stunningly beautiful from the outside, which is why we wanted to stay there after walking past previously. Negatives: No welcome when we checked in; we were just asked name - no hello or welcome. Room was tired and cluttered No fridge in the rooms Bar closed up at 9pm one evening Egg in eggs Benedict was hard boiled Fruit juices watered down No comfortable place for a drink/ a snug - chairs and tables used for dining by the bar Most staff were unfriendly Positives: Location Parking on site A different receptionist when we checked out was very friendly Breakfast muffins were lovely.

Stayed at a few Coaching Inn hotels around the U.K. and this one was fine and ok, but not great. Our superior room was fine for a night, room amenities have been reduced lately (no bars of chocolate, fewer tea bags and coffee sachets (although reception happy to give us more). Apparently the hotel bar and reception areas are being upgraded soon.

We went here for a meal. A dog friendly place. The service was a bit slow and lots of things were sold out on the menu. We both had a burger, which was nice. I asked to change fries to chips and I think I was charged extra for this. A bit expensive for 2 burgers and a beer.

Fantastic food! My friend and I had Turkey breast and she had beef. The turkey melted in my mouth. The vegetables were not over cooked, they were slightly crunchy. Gravy was very tasty. We had the cheesecake for pudding with local ice cream which was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. Love it and would go back.

Was welcomed in without booking a table. Friendly staff and fantastic service. I am a little worried as the chicken wings were pink, the mussels and lamb fagget were cold. Cheese board was 4 selection of cheese, which was very small chunks. We had more butter then cheese on the plate. The homemade Chutneys were tasteless. Wouldn't come again.

The location was excellent, but unfortunately I have a bad back and the bed was extremely uncomfortable for me. I didn't care for the cheap bedroom door locks either. The doorknob was so flimsy I thought it might fall completely off. The staff was excellent and extremely courteous.

We stayed over at Castle hotel for my Father's 90th birthday and had a lovely stay. The greeting at reception was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had evening meal in the bar and the waiting on staff were very attentive and made it a memorable evening for my father's birthday. They sang happy birthday and did a 90th birthday chocolate decoration a lovely surprise. The rooms were spacious and had everything you would need. The cooked breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice for cereals etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel in the heart of Conwy with good parking facilities.

Service here was very slow despite a few people being on. We were told we couldn’t sit together as a four despite asking if this was possible. It took a long time for our orders to be taken. So we had four to one table and then one alone. Half our tables order arrived before the other and they finished eating before the rest arrived, this is despite saying we were all together. My mother ordered beans on toast and the portion was tiny and arrived cold and without any butter. Wish we’d have gone to the restaurant two doors up. It also cost 9 pounds for this tiny portion. They also had no salmon for two people despite being able to order from the menu. Go somewhere else.

Booked an afternoon tea as a treat for my partner - very disappointed - his favourite part is the scone with jam and cream - however they had no jam - instead we were offered marmalade!! We the wanted to pay cash but couldn't as they had no change !! Service not too good as no one came to check everything was ok - overall very disappointed

We paid almost £10 each for a cheese and chutney sandwich which came on a side size plate with a tiny side salad. One of the worst sandwiches we've ever eaten. It should be renamed chutney and a bit of dry grated cheese sandwich. After scraping off most of the chutney, there was enough on the plate to make 3 more. When we told the lady this, she asked us if everything was OK apart from that and still charged us full price.

Went to the restaurant for a family dinner. Half of the food was lukewarm and some of it most likely microwaved. The duck was dry accompanied by chickpea chips. I was hoping the cheesecake would save this review but it disappointed as well. Last thing the waitress poured literally the entire glass of wine, who does that. Overall bad, was expecting much more based on the interior and the reputation. Disappointed

Stopped in for an early Guinness after an amazing visit to the Conwy Castle. Nestled nearby beneath the castle among the touristy shops and venues. Amy was an attentive barmaid. The bar was clean, had a nice street view and a quiet sitting room. Cold bee and reasonable prices. Recommended for a quick pop in swig and go.

The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are of a good size and well equipped with a Nespresso Coffee machine. The hotel is let down by the food offering, breakfast was sparse and several items missing, tea weak, coffee cold. Tomato served with my Steak was tasteless.

While I did not stay at this hotel, I did have dinner here at their restaurant and it was fantastic. Both my mom and I had the haddock risotto dish and we both loved it. We shared the sticky toffee pudding and devoured it. The wine list was pretty extensive as well. Good ambience and service also. Would highly recommend!

Had lunch in the restaurant here and enjoyed really fancy pie, mashed potatoes and mashed peas. So elegantly arranged and delicious, I must say this hotel restaurant makes my visit to the Conwy castle so unforgettable. I only had lunch at this hotel's restaurant. They seem to be famous for their chicken pie, so I had a set of chicken pie, mashed potatoes, and green peas, and it looked delicious already, and it was actually very delicious. We stopped by while visiting Conwy Castle and were really lucky to have lunch here.

I stayed at this hotel with my Dad and both of us loved it. It's a beautiful place, lovely staff, exceptional rooms, delicious breakfast - the only thing to be aware of is how large your car is if you're trying to get it into the car park! I have very fond memories of the hotel and look forward to staying there again in the future.

We had booked Easter Lunch here after finding a 3 course set menu online. I had also specified this in the comments. Upon arrival I asked about this menu and was told that this was last years, the website hadn’t been updated. Disappointed but we accepted this. We then waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order - very close to leaving at that point. The food was fine, lamb roast was good but the veggie Wellington very salty.

Recently had a three night stay, Sunday through Tuesday night in this dog friendly establishment. Impressive looking frontage, thankfully still mostly traditional interior (but tables in the bar are awful). Good private parking. Staff on the whole were great, apart from Monday breakfast. Our room was good, although it had a noticeable damp odour, and overlooked the front street. We had a strange experience whilst laid in bed Sunday evening when the radio suddenly sprung into life and began blasting out hymns of it's own accord! Drinks were decent and reasonably priced. Plenty of choice at breakfast and good quality, although the coffee was virtually undrinkable. We just stopped for dinner on one occasion and whilst the risotto was quite tasty it lacked in quantity. The hanging kebab was strangely served without a dripping sauce, and again lacked quantity as did the desert albeit tasty.

Great classic hotel centrally located in Conwy with good parking facilities. Our room/suite was lovely and clean, and we both had a good night's sleep and a view of the castle. The hotel overall is querky with the decor which we love very different and classical which makes it Individual. We ate in the restaurant food was good but our steaks were on the tough side. Would definitely recommend.

Staff pleasant, food dire. We had lunch in the bar. The staff were friendly but the food was overpriced and very poor. Turkey and mussels were deep fried and leathery tough, a sandwich was made with burned toast, soup and fish were luke warm and unpleasant. We ate here two years ago and the food was excellent. This time it was terrible. Nobody asked if we enjoyed the meal and I'm not surprised.

Excellent place to stay to visit the Conwy Castle. The rooms were beautiful and stocked. Our only gripe was how cold they stayed. The heater at max would not get it warm. They needed another heater in the bathroom. The food was fantastic. Very well thought out, designed, seasoned, and presented. We're are so glad we ate here while staying. Service was excellent. Everyone was super nice and attentive. They operate with very few staff so be patient.

Such a lovely place. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfy. We were lucky enough to book a room with a terrace. The views were fabulous and great to sit outside early evening before heading over to the restaurant for food. The food was delicious, staff were so friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly too. Thank you all, we really enjoyed our stay.
