The Hubb Restaurant in Hillingdon

What the hell happened?!?!?! It's the most homely feel, authentic indo-kenyan family style food. Their wings were to die for and I rave about their food to literally everyone. The sign is gone, shutters been down for weeks, and their website doesn't work anymore. There's nothing on their Instagram page about closing down. Really hope they come back, wherever it may be. The chef would always come out and talk to customers and it's the kind of restaurant where they genuinely wanted feedback from the customers to continually improve. If they are gone for good it's going to be an incredibly sad loss.

The Hubb is a place when you miss kenyan food, the owner was super lovely and friendly. The service and food was amazing. We keep going back even though we travel from far as its just good flavours. I would recommend this place for sure.

It was great that despite being busy they accommodated us, as my cousin's from America, Minnesota wanted to eat east African food. Thank you greatly appreciated 👍

Delicious! Try the ribs - amazing! Also pictured are masala chips and muhskaki. You probably want to end with karak chai and a paan. Great value and East African + Indian cooking!!

Amazing food!! Honestly the flavours were mouth watering. We got the wings, ribs, lamb starters and chicken curry. Everything was fantastic. Guys working there were super nice, attentive and informative! A definite recommend for awesome halal food.

This is a pleasant small restaurant serving East African food. On a Saturday evening it was very busy. The customers were mostly Asian heritage, so that's a good sign for the authenticity of the cooking. It's a halal restaurant, so no booze. The mogo cassava starter was tasty. The chicken wings were also good, but there wasn't much extra flavour from the rub or marinade. My wife's main of lamb chops was very good. There were 5 good-sized chops. My nyama choma (grilled beef and fat pieces) was ok, but might have been better with bread rather than rice. The Collard greens were a good side dish, but not as tasty as that found in American soul food. Service was good and friendly.

Good service Too oily and greasy food and oil tasted old..dirty floor and dirty toilets..plates were not clean either...i personally didn't like the taste of food but my hubby did for some of the dishes.. we ordered quite a lot of variety

The food was so good, generous amount, we orderd mix grill , ribs, and chips, was delicious, the service was great, loved the chia and the mango lassi, will be going back there again and again.

My favourite place to go to, when I’m craving Kenyan coastal flavours! This is the best Mandazi and chai I’ve had thus, far in England. They also sell Barazi, not pictured as we took it as takeaway and I can confirm it’s just like home 😍 Note: breakfast on the weekends is seasonal, so please call ahead to confirm they’re opening to avoid disappointment.

Closest thing I’ve had to a “taste of home” without going back to Kenya. Top food, top top top service and such a homely atmosphere. Cannot fault the service, 5 stars isn’t doing it justice. Genuinely service that feels like they care about you like one of their own, you can tell they genuinely appreciate your time and the effort you’ve taken to visit the spot, from the floor staff to the chefs at the back. Very reasonably priced especially in todays market, can walk out stuffed for £10 a person easily. Massive shoutout to Roshan, such a top guy and the work he puts in doesn’t go unnoticed. Don’t think twice if you’re considering going, you’re giving your money to good people who give you smashing food in return.

This is some of the best Kenyan food you can get here, a home away from home. The food is beautiful and intense. I would definitely recommend trying this as you can't find these flavours anywhere else unless you go back to Kenya, the prices are reasonable too.

Average Kenyan food, the menu is a bit of a hit or miss. Some items were really good like the poussin and the Keema chapati, however their bbq items are extremely over cooked and their meat is very tough even the chicken

If you fancy East African BBQ this resturant will hit all the culinary spots. Always consistent on taste and quality. Starters (we always have mogo and Daar bhajia) and and Mixed grill platter are highly recommended. Service could be better but the food makes up for any lackings

Having been to The Hubb in January for my birthday meal I thought I’d try it again with a friend a month later. The place is really cute with decor from Kenya which was lovely. The menu isn’t overly busy therefore you don’t feel overwhelmed with the choices having said there are enough things to try so have to go back more than once! I’ve tried a variety of the food and all have been delicious especially The Hubb kebab! I’ll definitely be going back to try more of the menu- wasn’t disappointed and the staff are just really nice.

First time visit but won’t be the last. The flavours were amazing. Very unique. The sauces were amazing too. Would highly recommend

Went here with family and friends 8 of us. The food was brilliant everything we order Mix grill, Both type of chops,mogo,chips, Nundu and Muskaki, Keema Chapati and Charsi Lamb Curry and not to forget the Chai. Last minute decision and worth it. First visit at the The Hubb yesterday and am glad we went. It was busy and certainly the place to be. Very tasty Kenyan food full of flavours. The mango lassi was delightful, the nundu was delicious and charsi lamb flavourful and the passion fruit drink tasty. Throughly enjoyed our evening that my daughters are looking forward to going back to try other dishes.

We had gone for dinner on a Sunday evening. First time going inside the restaurant and we received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The service we got was excellent and the food was top notch. 👌🏼 I would definitely recommend it to everyone especially if you like kenyan style food. The food is very tasty and I would definitely go again. 😊

Hands down the best curry. The dishes are authentic. Ordered lamb charsi. The meat is so tender and just meltsnin the mouth. To top it off, the service is excellent and very friendly. You can tell the owners take great pride in maintaining their reputation.

A great choice for breakfast after school runs! Fast and good service. Very homely and good tasting food which is African & Indian fusion. I had the Desi Omellete and Karak Chai, both were done in true desi style. Can’t wait to meet up with dads for breakfast there after school runs :-) One feedback for the restaurant is to have double entry doors, it’s useful in winters to trap cold air from breezing through the restaurant.

Had a delivery from here in the past week. Pleased to see the quality of their food is still good despite the cost of living crisis, but the quantity has seriously diminished. Half a dozen pieces of paneer, a few pieces of (very nice) mishkaki meat, and barely any potatoes. Eat in you possibly can for the best experience!

Visited this place for a meeting function and was able to sample some of the dishes which were absolutely delicious!! The owner is very welcoming, and the range of foods on the menu are exquisite! They were so tasty I didn’t stop to take photos!! Lol. Parking is available outside and on the nearby roads (permit) and the station and bus stops are a stones throw if arriving by foot!! Will definitely be revisiting….and taking more photos of the dishes!!

I wish I had taken photos of this nondescript restaurant and its food, however let me tell you that I had an amazing experience. The decor is not flashy like other places, however that takes NOTHING away from the calm atmosphere and vibes, and obviously the amazing food. The place was relatively busy when we came for dinner on a weekend, but there was a table available for our group of three. We decided to keep it light and not order a heavy meal. If memory serves me right we ordered the following: Masala Mogo, Maru Bhajia, Kheema Chapati, Round Kebab and Mushkaki Platter. The taste of each of these was "just like home" and then some! Everything came out sizzling hot as they cook it right there in the kitchen which is literally feet away from where you sit and so you can see the cooks working behind the glass. The chutney they provided were amazing - some were extremely spicy and others were mild and sweet (like the tamarind) - and really, you need the combination of hot and sweet to enjoy East African cuisine. We had the signature Passion Fruit Juice - which although I found it to be slightly warm and could have used some ice - was refreshing none the less. We finished the evening with some traditional Tea. All in all, this restaurant has earned top notch in my book. It is too bad I live in Canada and was only able to enjoy their food once on my trip to London, but if I am back in this beautiful city, rest assured I would definitely be back at The Hubb Restaurant.

Food here was absolutely amazing and definitely worth going any day. We ordered the chicken wings for starters which were delicious. For mains we ordered the two variations of lamb chops which were by far some of the best lamb chops I’ve eaten. The flavours were so vibrant and the meat was so well cooked. This restaurant is definitely a good example of a good upcoming one that, even though it’s opened fairly recently, it’s been doing a really good job. Ali was serving us at the table and he was really great company keeping us engaged and happy. Loved the experience overall and would definitely recommend!

Truly Kenyan, Same Nairobi Taste in London The Best Kenyan Food outside Kenya

Went here with high hopes, I wished it to taste like hashmi’s of Nairobi. The restaurant has friendly staff. The chutney selection given to the table was great. The masala mogo was very tasty. The masala chips had the potential to be great but lacked a chilli kick. The possoin chips were tasty but lacked a kick too. The paneer tikka wasn’t for me, lacked a flavour through the paneer. The naans were good. My wife had the chicken mishkaki, but same issue, flavour kick wasn’t there. Meal was very reasonably priced. Will give them another opportunity, as our server said he make the food a lot for spicier. It’s not bad food, just needs some tweaks to the flavour to make it a 4-5 star. Update: had it a few more times, big improvements :)

Welcoming staff, very quick service passion juice was on point .The mushkakis are the best l have eaten for a long time reminded me of Kenya .Masal chips weren't hot enough both temperature & chilli wise . Friendly staff especially Ali .keep it up.

Absolutely fantastic food and even better hospitality. As soon as we entered we felt welcome. We had a jug of passion fruit juice which was nice, if a bit sweet. For starters we had the nundu and the mogo. The mogo had a nice flavour and was a good consistency. The nundu was absolutely fantastic and I really recommend it. Traditionally it's just beef fat, however, as the server explained, you can't serve grilled fat on its own in the UK, so it had beef with it. It was so full of flavour and seasoned perfectly. For mains we had sukama wiki with ugali and charsi lamb curry with naan. The sukama had a lovely flavour and went well with the ugali. I tried the curry with the ugali and it didn't go as well. The curry was spicy but really rich. We had some karak chai to finish the meal and packed up everything we didn't eat. Our server was great - very friendly and knowledgeable - and I got the feel from the restaurant that they love serving people and making people happy with their food.

Food is overpriced, small and not worth the money. My son and I ordered snacks when they arrived they were very small, the tea was served in a plastic cup and only half filled and barely warm! I left a review previously and somehow this was removed, maybe the hubb marked it as a fake profile, be sure I am not fake. I will not be returning to this establishment.
