Bar staff just have no idea what’s going on. We went here for an event (otherwise would not have been my choice) £18 for a double vodka with soda water + just tonic water, no alcohol. So either the tonic water was £5 or my double vodka soda was more than £13 (which is my Shoreditch standard). They made my drink with water, not soda and had to make it again. Only Guinness on tap, no other beers - just a strange set up. Would be so easy to make this a decent bar.

Probably the worst bar I’ve ever been to in London. Moody staff, rubbish drinks in plastic cups. Serve doubles as standard (ok, other places do this too) but if you ask for a single, it is still charged as a double. Absolutely mental policy. Avoid this place!

We were looking for somewhere to have some late lunch and stumbled across this place. They were also having an offer of 2 for £10 cocktails, so it was rude not to have that too! Our poke bowls were very tasty and fresh. We opted to go large for the poke bowls (extra £2.50 each) and it was a good size for lunch. The cocktails were okay. I had a mojito, but it was just a little too sweet for my liking. For a Saturday late lunch-time it wasn't busy, but that suited us. Overall, a decent place for a bite to eat and a drink

We sat in the downstairs area which felt damp and had a strong, unpleasant smell. Was charged £13.50 for a vodka with soda water and lime. In a plastic pint cup. Completely unjustifiable and clear exploitation. Seriously, how can they justify charging £13.50 for a double shot of vodka, mixed with WATER and a slice of lime in a plastic pint cup! I'd expect to pay this amount for a well-crafted cocktail in an upmarket bar, but this is simply a rip-off. I asked the barman why so expensive, he just shrugged and said, "Shoreditch". There is a reason this club is empty, devoid of vibes and genuinely soulless. In serious need of review and new management. Please don't waste your time or money.

I know loads of people aren't rating this place highly but we really liked it. Walked in and got given a booth right away. Drinks prices are standard for London and service was very quick. It was largely empty when we went even though it was a Friday night but we had a great time.

First off, it was the worst greeting ever - what do you do when you go to a bar? Walk in? We were shouted at sarcastically for walking in… They were extremely hot on track & trace, even checking the green tick for it to be complete but when i asked to sign in instead it was a problem even though the sheet was in sight. The girls were nice inside but weren’t wearing masks or visor…just a bit confusing! (Not blaming them, they’re just doing what they’re told) The manager is absolutely horrendous, he is so rude to the staff in-front of the customers - us being one of them . I cannot believe what i have witnessed and i am actually seething that they have to deal with him to the point i was so close to confronting him having not even had a drink. Absolutely avoid this place, i am angry i didn’t leave straight away.

This should not be the case for a bar in the busy part of shoreditch. It’s the most run down pub I have ever been to in my life and I have travelled in the depths of Eastern Europe. We had to pay £40 to secure my booking a month or so before the date so I thought it must be half decent but I couldn’t be more wrong. All drinks are served in plastic cups (even cocktails and wine) and it looks like a seen out of the Liam Neeson film Taken. We stayed for one , overpriced, Pornstar Martini £12.50 each and left after that , leaving £15.00 of my £40.00 I paid beforehand. We were in there for a total of 5 minutes and it was 5 minutes too long. Avoid at all costs.

Bad management, bad customer service the worst night I had by far. After a booking for the happy hour cocktail bar, I was informed that was no cocktails on arrival without any further explanation. they a £60 non refundable deposit from me and no options were offered. I was told to complain to the booking team as it was their fault. I have been for the past month back and forth with them trying a refund or some kind of money back for my loss that ning. All I had from the management team was a bottle of prosecco and shots to be used until October 2021. Absolutely ridiculous.

Staff were rude and lazy. Very slow to take orders and serve drinks. One minute we were told it was 2 for 1 on cocktails, then told it wasn’t, then told it was. Clueless. Music was poor.

Staff were extremely rude, they took forever to serve a drink and charged £8.50 for a beer in a plastic cup. £3 of that was for a dash of lemonade. Don’t bother wasting your time or your money here! Oh and to top it off the music was horrendous!

Lazy staff. Worst drinks ever, served in a plastic cup. Scruffy/trashy bar. Make you pay before you get your drink, they must know how horrible their drinks are.

If you're looking for upscale dining and white table cloths... keep it moving! This is a bar for drinking, laughing, and dancing. We came for a private event in the basement and it was so much fun! The two bartenders were very courteous and also entertaining, doing tricks while pouring etc. DJ kept the party going all night and we shut the place down. As they were closing down we sat on their sidewalk seating under the awning to avoid the rain while we waited for an uber. Great place, very fun, not sure what all the negative marks are about.

I visited the Hoxton 7 bar for a friend's birthday last week. Now, I infrequently go to bars so this review may be pointless for you. As a positive, I found that the price of a bottle of wine at £16 was very affordable. I was hungry, however, and there was absolutely no food to nibble on, even a packet of crisps...I'm sure if there was food, I would've stayed longer and spent more money!

Ordered 2 single gin and tonics, overpriced for what we got (tonic on tap). Bit scruffy and dirty. Sat outside which was a bit dirty. On a main road but still.....needed a jet wash. Staff were a bit grumpy too.....

Arrived, no beer on tap, saw a bottle of wine on the menu for £15, was surprised by table service but asked the waitress specifically for the £15 bottle of wine - to which she politely accepted. We were served our £15 bottle of wine for £22 and informed only after it was poured that the prices increase after 11PM - thanks for that :)

Ordered a double gin and tonic, barman didn't measure the drink, put barely any gin in and also the cup was half empty. I asked for it to be done properly and he said no, so I said I didn't want the drink and he called security who then escorted me out. Laughable.. Disgraceful really, I used to be a regular here and I will not be going there again and will also be letting people know about my experience.

I have been at the door twice and had to listen to the bouncer tell me there were naked men dancing in there and whether my friend and I could handle "black dicks" (his words). He then proceeded to tell us more about said genitals and made us feel very uncomfortable. Won't go near that place again.

We popped in for a few drinks. Busy and good atmosphere. Had the veggie jackfruit chips- highly recommend those. 2 for 1 cocktails (2 for £10) was reasonable too

I’ve popped in on a few occasions for a drink. The 2 for 1 cocktails are pretty amazing although after I few mojitos I don’t want to go home lol. Happy hour and strong cocktails... what more do you want?

I guess I’m not hip enough to pay their silly prices. Too expensive for a plastic environment. And don’t even think of sitting outside, it is way too noisy.

Couldn’t even cook chips. They were wet and limp. Didn’t bother eating it. No taste. Jerk chicken was tiny and awful. Avoid at all costs. Complete waste of money.

Fui allí con un bono de groupon con 3 amigos, cuando llegamos allí se negaron a ofrecer el cupón groupon, hable con 3 personas incluyendo el director que era muy grosero y no me importa menos. Que no estaban preparados para ofrecer algo más a la manera de un perdón o incluso ofrecen un happy hour de cócteles. De nuevo, el personal era muy grosero y el servicio al cliente era inexistente, probablemente por que estaba muerto. No hace falta decir que salir sin gastar centavo. Nos las arreglamos para conseguir un reembolso completo groupon pero realmente supuso una decepción en lo que debería haber sido una noche. no pierda su tiempo y dinero! ! ! !

A group of us went in late on a Saturday night having just left a bar that closed at 11,ready to kick on a little while longer, we were lured in due to it being free entry (I wonder why!!) and not too busy for that time of night/it being in Shoreditch.

Had a groupon voucher travelled to Shoreditch especially only to be turned away by a rude lady saying they no longer except groupon vouchers

Fuimos a cenar en una noche de domingo cuando fue relativamente tranquila. El personal del bar parecían rechazan clientes, no tiene sentido de servicio y en realidad no nos dan lo que pedimos. Se convirtió en demasiado de un tema para criar con ellos, ya que era como hablarle los dientes incluso conseguir cubiertos. La comida que venía era bastante normal para el precio que pagamos. No recomendaría o volver.

As soon as we walked through the doors all we could smell was sewage. The bar staff were so disinterested in us. I went to use the ladies, and found both toilets in a disgusting and unusable state - urine on the seats and all 4 toilet roll holders empty and not a spare in sight. It’s the first time we have ever left a place without taking a 2nd sip of our drinks. This place is the pits - enter at your peril !!!!

Cocktails were not worth £13.50. Every drink is automatically served with two plastic straws before you have a chance to say you don’t want one. I also asked for a water with my cocktail, automatically given in a plastic cup - so wasteful and ignorant.

I went here with 5 girlfriends for our xmas party 9th December around 3pm and the staff could not have been ruder to our group. The barman with braces was incredibly sour and clearly did not want to serve us. He continued to roll his eyes and huff whilst taking our orders. The other male member of staff was incredibly rude and condescending to 2 members of our party. We left within the hour and I defiantly wouldn’t go here again

Mi amigo y yo fuimos el viernes por la noche. Cuando llegamos pedimos dos expreso que Martins no me podía creer vino a £27! La más cara en esa zona seguro! La peor parte de esto era que los cócteles no gusto a la derecha. Este tipo de copa nos cóctel todo el tiempo y uno de ellos no sabían bien. Por lo tanto pedi el personal del bar a cambio. Para mi horror me dijo que estaba bien y en realidad implícita que yo no sabia de lo que estaba hablando. Incluso el gerente dijo que estaba hablando basura. Por lo tanto al escribir esta crítica. Nunca volveré aquí de nuevo!

The Hoxton 7 is quite an experience for anyone used to good service, decent drinks and clean, unbattered decor. Whilst Easter Sunday may mark the beginning of the end of a fun packed long weekend the sheer surliness and bad temper of the barman working the later afternoon shift at the Hoxton 7 had to be seen to be believed. 2 beers and a glass of wine were clearly not an acceptable drinks order, greeted as they were by a sigh and a grunt and served with another grunt as they were shoved across the bar. The decor is not so much tired as comatose, looking as if it had been ripped from the bowels of a defunct working men's club thirty years earlier. Great if you like rock hard, too narrow, seating and burned seventies marble-effect coffee tables or uncomfortable stools which mean the heads of those of average height sink to just above the unwiped table top. Random taxidermy bursting out of the walls and across the ceiling appeared to have no reason for being there and overall the place looked grimy, unloved and unwelcoming.Perhaps their food is good. Alas we will never know as we left after a single drink to find more convivial surroundings where the staff had simple good manners and the ability to communicate effectively and even look at their customers when dealing with them.

Visited to have a few cocktails with friends. The cocktails were overpriced, barely alcoholic and consisted of mostly ice. I'd give this one a miss!

The environment was not really nice and cocktails were not good at all, and too expensive. I just would not recommend it.

Came here for one drink whilst we were waiting for a table at another restaurant. We were served a cosmopolitan and vodka martini for £21. The cosmopolitan was the worst I have ever tasted. I'm pretty sure I watched him pour a double shot of lime juice in it. When we confronted the staff, the first guy said he was new and hadnt made many cocktails before and then walked off (it wasnt even him that served us), once I grabbed the second guys attention he also had an attitude and refused us to give a refund, we then asked for a manager which was a young girl who also said they do not give out refunds and all they could do was make them again, by now our table at the restaurant was available so we continued to demand a refund... eventually she opened the till and gave us our money but said that she would pay for it for us (which is obviously not what we wanted, we just wanted OUR money back). Terrible experience. Sticky and horrible everywhere.

Went on a Friday between 4:30pm and 6pm. Cocktails were OK but not the best version I've ever tasted of them. The crowd was surprisingly old for the area. The decor is a bit bizarre. The menu looked good but they don't serve food until 6pm so we didn't get to try it. It did have vegetarian friendly options though.

Had drinks with the OH at the weekend here. Easy access - note, if your a big group of guys your better off trying your luck somewhere else. Upstairs was really busy so we decided to go downstairs and got to sit by the bar. Music was on another level all the good stuff which we love to dance too. Would definitely come back for another night out.

The drinks were expensive (£15 for a beer and a glass of house wine, which was horrible). The staff were unfriendly and rude. The round bay seats have such a low back that you can't sit on them.The music was OK, and the atmosphere/decor were cool. Otherwise, I wasn't impressed.

We were served really small pizzas, that weren't worth the amount of money we spent on them. The decor is not that nice, it's too try hard.

Just came in here for a quick drink. Okay looking pub and should have known better to be fair...they don't advertise prices on the cocktail. £13.50 for a below average espresso martini. Full of sugar, very little alcohol. If it were a posh looking place I'd have checked the price, but would never expect to pay that in a place like this. Also we weren't allowed to play table tennis because they didn't have any staff on the downstairs bar. There are hundreds of better bars a stone's throw away. Avoid. Never again.

Ended up here on Friday with a group of friends. Not a terrible place but completely overpriced (£13.50 for a very average espresso martini), and a few of the group even had to send drinks back because the vodka seemed watered down.

We ate Cluk - amazing buttermilk chicken, really tender. Fries /sweet potato fries were lovely and crispy, no oil to be seen. Mac n cheese yummy too - definitely not out of a can!Our server - didn't get her name was great, nothing was too much trouble. Barmaid was great too.Very friendly bar - loved the quirkiness of it including the kangaroo hanging from the ceiling.Would we go back? Definitely YES.

Went there after work for a few drinks. Decent place. The happy hours are really good value for money with 2 for 1. The food is decent. My buddy's chicken was not cooked completely. My burger was pretty decent. I would have given it 3.5 starts if the option was available. The staff could have been a little more friendly. Overall a decent place and a good value for money.

We were just coming back from lunch and decided to stop for a few cocktails as this bar looked really weird and cool all at the same time. The cocktails were good and we got 2 for 1, which was even better. Unfortunately the bar staff were slow and didn't smile once, which was a shame as the place is great for a relaxing afternoon

We were staying at The Hoxton across the road and couldn't get near the bar in our hotel so we came here instead. Pretty full with a younger crowd. Service was friendly, drinks were fine and they had a table tennis table in the basement.

The staff were friendly, the cocktails were 2 for £10. The atmosphere was good. It is what it is. I would defo be back due to the chilled atmosphere. And also the cocktails were great!! I agree with others tho the toilet are pretty dirty.

We stopped by for drinks on a Saturday night. We ordered our drinks at the bar, then found a table to sit at. The waitress came by and was upset that we had bought our drinks at the bar instead of the table. They have a good long happy hour Monday - Friday which is probably the best time to go. They have a unique mix of items hanging from their ceiling.

I went to this bar yesterday with a friend of mine during happy hour and we ended up getting 4 cocktails for £20 which is great to find in London. The cocktails were really nice and the bar was nicely decorated. However, when I went down to use the toilets they were in a horrific state, probably the dirtiest toilets I have ever seen EVER and I always judge a place on its toilets. Besides from that, the staff were rude... a waitress came to our table 5 times in the space of 30 minutes asking us if we want to get anything more and slyly indicating that we should leave. I thought it was ridiculous because there were only 4 tables that were occupied during the hours we went. I'll come back to this place when they have new cleaners and a change of staff.

Stopped in as it was close to my hotel and grabbed some drinks and some food. Priscilla my waitress was awesome, she informed me that the restaurant was called Souse, a Caribbean themed menu and was it fantastic!. I had the lamb and it was the most tender and flavorful I have had in a restaurant. You must try the hot sauce. Wendy, the chef/owner makes a very hot but addicting sauce that I still think about a week later. Beware, it's got some heat and I like heat, it's the best hot sauce I think I've ever tasted. Almost fruity with a huge kick in the end. The sauce is worth the trip alone. They also have a good happy hour price-wise

I visited with two friends and when we told the barman that our cocktails, the third we'd bought that night, tasted of soap, he argued that it didn't. When we asked for a replacement drink he said he wouldn't replace it and other members of staff got involved. It was such bad customer service. He then said he wouldn't replace them but he'd give my friend the money back she was so annoyed that that were being so confrontational that she told him to keep the money but we would never be back. It didn't make sense at all; He would give us the money back but wouldn't replace the drinks. I would not recommend going to this place.

Expensive cocktails for folk with more money than sense. Haven't tried the food and I have no intention of trying it.

We stopped in here after an afternoon at Dinerama Street Feast and it was a wicked choice! Great cocktails and really friendly staff who had a laugh with us! What makes it better is their really good happy hour!!

Despicable waiters and manager. No groove or life. Do not take cards under £10 and cannot get tips on card to reach £10. Basically force you to get out and get cash somewhere, in addition to being rude to you. Very disappointing experience.

Booked Hoxton Seven for a large group of friends. Friendly staff made the booking and organising easy and looked after us on the night. Pizza was good and happy hour is good value. Many people commented on how good the cocktails were. The music wasn't too loud so we could all chat. Eclectic decor. Even has a table tennis table downstairs! I'm glad I found this place.

Passed by many times but never went in. Noticed that choi boys had set up a Korean food concession inside the bar area and thought we should give it a try as these guys used to have an awesome food truck in Walthamstow and Brixton doing the whole Korean BBQ thing that seems to be sweeping the cityOrdered the:Beef tacos 9/10Kimchi burger 10/10Bibimbap rice bowl 9/10And Bulgogi fries 9/10We love Korean food and couldn't believe we could get New Malden level cooking right here in shoreditch and at a reasonable price too. Korean food is often pricey for small portions in Central London.... £7 for a SINGLE spirit and mixer....over £5 for a Peroni....and Happy Hour beer is terrible! Completely over priced for a less than average bar in Shoreditch. Plenty of better and cheaper options around the area.

Attended after work Friday with a mate, had some happy hour cocktails and 2 for £10 pizzas. The place was pretty busy but they still did a table service, however this was a bit slow. But when the cocktails and food came they were really tasty! Very good value for money, and a cool bar!

We stopped in here for a late night drink on Friday with one of our son's and his partner after having had a very good evening meal close by and finding our hotel bar absolutely packed - we soon realised why!Not a particularly smart place and very expensive drinks, so not a place that I can recommend.

We stopped into The Hoxton Seven on an early evening walk around the area. Situated on the corner of Great Eastern Street, this place really does form the gateway to the hinterland of bars and restaurants in Hoxton from the south and west, and thus has a great location. It was a warm evening, and the tables outside were all occupied, but a smart, polite member of staff was drumming up business at the door without being pushy at all. We headed in and found a comfortable diner style booth.So intent were the staff on drumming up early evening business that it took a while for our order to be taken, but the service was great throughout - friendly, informative, chatty and not intrusive. We ordered cocktails from the fantastic value happy hour menu. The Espresso Martini was really, really great - anyone who reads other reviews I write will know how much I love coffee, and this combination of booze and caffeine was perfect. Who would bother with energy drinks if you could knock these back?! The Blue Margarita was powerful, with a strong tequila kick. Perhaps a little too overpowering?At this early point of the evening the place was starting to buzz a little, but wasn't over busy or too loud, so we decided to linger a little longer and enjoy a second round. This time we ordered the Jack and Jill, and the excellent Hoxton Iced Tea - I later asked what was in this drink, and the list was dizzyingly long. In short, it's a little of everything, it tastes fantastic, and it's dangerously easy to quaff.Whilst we were here, the pizza's coming from the kitchen were getting more and more tempting - but we had a reservation elsewhere later. So, we ordered a Greek Salad to soak up the booze. A huge bowl was quickly produced from the kitchen with some of the freshest tasting tomatoes and olives we've ever had. Considering this place has a bar/diner feel, the attention to producing good quality, tasty food is a real bonus.With the place just starting to gear up for what was surely to be a busy evening, we headed out. This is a friendly, atmospheric place to enjoy a beer or a cocktail with the bonus of some great food on hand.
