Had a really great lunch. Very good place for gluten free people. The manager made me feel comfortable and is very knowledgeable about different intolerance and allergies. Usually I get a book and that's it but she knew what I could eat and even double checked with the kitchen for me.

I visited twice this week having both weekday and Sunday lunch.. both meals were delicious and the service was amazing. Would absolutely recommend the Sunday lunch sharer for 2! Thanks to the staff for being fantastic and welcoming throughout

Never been here before however the food and service was amazing! One of our servers who introduced herself as Lisa was absolutely outstanding! So friendly and lovely to chat to! She is a credit to the business. We brought our daughter and Lisa was more than accommodating and interactive with her! Will definitely be returning!!!

Lovely experience would definitely recommend. The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. The staff seemed on point especially the gentleman that served us on the bar (believe his name is eligah) was so kind and our server Sian was so chatty and attended to all of our needs. Beautiful place, the design and atmosphere is everything I could have asked for and more. Served by a really charming man named Elijah he catered to all of our needs and also made us laugh what more could you want. And the food was so good. Will be returning!

Went as a group of 8 on a quiet evening. Food was average, however an item appeared on the bill, marked "other". We asked what it was, but didn't get a sensible reply.

This is the third time we have been to The Horseshoes. Having been really pleased on previous occasions we thought we would go to celebrate our daughters engagement. They had written a card and put balloons up which was a nice touch. However, the service was very slow, the food took forever to arrive and we waited 40 minutes for our plates to be cleared after our main course. We tried to find some staff to clear the table but we couldn't so my husband spoke to the bar staff and asked for them to bring the bill. We were not the only table to do this. There was no apology from the lady who came with the bill and she didn't check on our view of the evening. The FOOD was EXCELLENT so many compliments to the chef. Sadly the service was so bad it I doubt we will be going back.

We went as a party of eight. The pub was nicely decorated but not busy at all. The food we had was dry (sushi/pork/falafel/fish) and not great quality, giving the impression it had been sat around a long time or microwaved. Not good quality.

I have been a few times for various family meals since it reopened with its present owners. It's just fantastic. Staff ,food ,venue, can't be faulted . We went this time for our anniversary meal on the 3rd, and the staff made fuss it just adds to the evening. Can't recommend enough.

Very cold in pub keep coat on meals where nice but kids size fish and chips not even one potato small pot chips fish was nice but very small for price

Went for dinner. Apparently they had just introduced a new menu. Starter was katsu chicken roll (sushi). Was dry, ratio of rice to filling was not right - way too much rice, and other than the chicken there was only spring onion and red pepper - cucumber, avo or something would have been nice. Main was beef brisket which was really good. Tender beef, mash, onion, carrot, gravy. Dessert was sticky Toffee pudding - cold. The centre of all of our puddings (we ordered 5!) were cold and powdery. Probably frozen and not made fresh (I never understand this how hard can sticky Toffee pudding be!?) Drink - my mock tail was really nice blackberry and ginger. Although very sweet! Service was not mediocre. The staff were generally nice but could have done with a bit of training in service. We're a bit clumsy putting things down and picking things up (not helped by the extremely flat place with no rim for them to grab). Decor is nice and new/refurbished done up really nice and feels upmarket. Overall, it's a shame with such a good main mostly everything else wasn't that great. Would consider returning and giving a second chance but won't be rushing back.

We had a v pleasant meal here this afternoon. 7 of us, varied menu suited us all. Service good, staff friendly but didn't rush us. A family meet up before Christmas so good to be able to take our time & chat. Music playing in background but was a pleasant volume. We would certainly visit again. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic food and service was attentive without being intrusive. We started with the broccoli and cheddar soup delicious! I had the beautiful cooked roast beef. Hubby had roast chicken, both served with plenty of fresh veg, buttery mash. So tasty. Homemade desserts to follow. All the staff worked hard. We were served exceptionally well by Lisa and Becci. Lovely relaxed atmosphere too! Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely sensational meal out for Mum's birthday at the Horseshoes. Even before we got there, nothing was too much trouble. I rang in advance to check if it would be ok to bring along a birthday cake; if anything, this was encouraged! We arrived to a beautiful glass of birthday prosecco and an (unexpectedly) decorated booth area for Mum; such a lovely touch! Six of us had a combination of starters and mains, drinks and sides. Everything came out hot, on time and not rushed. Portion sizes were perfect and genuinely, I had the best onion rings I've ever had! The staff are impeccably trained; efficient, polite, warm and incredibly friendly. There were a lot of people/events on/in the restaurant yesterday and nothing was too much trouble. I left the cake with the Manager (this was a surprise for Mum) and they brought it out to her lit up and even supplied plates and forks! We were wholeheartedly impressed from start to finish (my parents have run hotels and pubs so are, for good reason, hard to please!). We felt incredibly well looked after and will absolutely be back. Thank you all for making Mum's birthday so special ❤️.

We had a lovely lunch stop here after spending some time at the nearby Wroxeter Roman city. Staff was friendly and the food was good. There was plenty of free parking including some handicap spots.

Booked as a last minute lunch on Sunday. Staff were more than happy to arrange a table. Upon arrival we were met by Lisa who checked our booking, showed to our table & was polite & most helpful explaining what food was available. Food & service was perfect. We were asked if all was ok with food & drinks several times & even shown how to use the The Grill loyalty app. Would definitely recommend to others & we’ll be returning very soon

Came across this place when visiting a national trust property and decided to have lunch there. So glad we did the place is amazing, decor beautiful. The food was tremendous and can't wait to go back again.

Nice little restaurant with good beer and food, family friendly

I had the black aberdeen Angus rib eye steak cooked medium. This was beautiful, no complaints, the portion of onion rings, brill. However, my wife had the pork shnizell, this was way over cooked, difficult to cut and difficult to eat, when presented at the table the egg accupliment (part of the meal not extra) was broken and the yolk running all over the plate, not a very pleasing sight, most of the meal was left. However having said that it was a nice pub lovely atmosphere and staff were friendly. We will go back.

Beautiful setting with wonderful food

We had a family meal here with the grandparents. Service was great. The meals were amazing I had rump steak and it's up there with the best I've had cooked to perfection quality beef. Will definitely use again and recommend to anyone.

The food was good but it was not hot enough, both the soup and the main course was just warm not hot, the service was quite slow and had to ask for drinks as nobody was checking on us to see if we needed anything or to check if a our food was OK.

Really lovely food and excellent service from our waitress Becky. We were a big party of ten and all of our meals were cooked perfectly. The pub also has a great seating area outside. Definitely recommend for food.

If 10 stars were available to give I would from the moment we walked.in Lisa Alice and Amy made us feel really welcome were not locals and are staying in our caravan locally . We have eaten out at a few pub / restaurants in the area and can honestly say as a chef we tried the rest and this was by far the best I had crispy belly pork and my husband had beef brisket cooked to perfection with creamy mash and a selection of vegetables the flavours were amazing and we cleaned. Are plates of the lot I then had an after eight cocktail which was delicious compliments to the kitchen team Shane and Qazim your food is amazing and we will be back it’s are new favorite refreshing for me as I’m really hard to please as I’m really critical but I couldn’t fault it so nice to feel welcome and treated as a valuable customer 10 out of 10

Had a wonderful meal this evening! Rung by chance last minute and managed to get a table. Enjoyed a two course meal each and drinks. We decided to try the new chefs special starter which was divine! Food and service was faultless. Beautiful food, fresh and hot. Generous servings. Will return soon.

Some of the best food I've eaten locally. It wouldn't be fair to comment on the atmosphere, as we visited late on a Monday evening. However, staff were very accommodating and we didn't feel rushed. One slight that could be made is the ale selection - although good choices, it is limited. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and we will be returning.

I went to the Horseshoes for a birthday lunch today with my daughter. We ordered from the lunch menu and it was delicious. It was hard to choose due to the vast amount of options however we settled on the steak sandwich and the sausage & mash, and are so glad we did, it was impeccable! We were served by Lisa and Luke, who were lovely and attentive. I received a free glass of prosecco and walked in to see a card and balloons on the table for my birthday, which was a really nice touch. Overall, I strongly recommend a visit here; great service, lovely atmosphere and gorgeous food.

This was our second time visiting and another outstanding meal. I took the recommendation of the Beef Brisket and my husband ordered the T-Bone steak, both were delicious and plentiful portions, children had sausage and mash and mac & cheese and they cleared their plates. Sian was so attentive and professional, making an extra effort with our children who were all tired after a long day out (5, 2 and 1 year olds!) Really reasonable pricing for outstanding quality, excellent service and the atmosphere is really unique. Great service is hard to come by these days so this review is very much deserved. Looking forward to visiting again.

Visited Thursday evening, 5.30. The Yakatori skewers were far too salty, the schnitzel burger was a car crash. Left most of it. Ate a few chips, the pork in the middle was swimming in grease. Not convinced this is fine dining.

Had the set lunch here and I must say both courses were tasty and hot, had Sausage and mash for the main course. Staff were smiley and polite initial service a bit slow to take order but after that ok.

It's been a while since we have visited the Horseshoes but what a pleasant surprise. Food was good, service was good, ambience lovely. Will visit again soon.

Excellent food! How they make the side salad as good as the mains I don’t know - they should bottle their salad dressing. They have an excellent restaurant area if you wished to be wined and dined but also have a bar area for the more traditional pub experience. The outside dining area is around a beautiful water feature, although close to the main road, it doesn’t disrupt the conversation. Special shout out to Sian with the excellent memory and Beccie who could sell ice to an eskimo.

Asked to move table within 5 minutes of being seated, being called love and sweetheart by someone many years my junior, asking 3 times for condiments. Very average food there’s much better out there for the price.

I had the rump.it tasted beautiful but was a little tough. We all had a good time + overall enjoyed our food although the drinks were a little slow to be done.

My husband and I had a lovely meal at the Horseshoe’s. We thought we’d try the place after a friend recommended it and were really happy we went! Plenty of parking and a nice beer garden. We had the beef brisket and the belly pork which were both delicious! They even had apple crumble for dessert which was really nice too. We even spotted they have a dog menu so will be returning with our pug Oscar soon! Grace and Lisa provided excellent service too and went above and beyond for us despite the place being very busy. I would really recommend this place, lovely food and really nice, friendly staff.

Went for father's day for the family. Very busy but lovely atmosphere and the manager was fantastic with all the children. Waitors and waitresses looked very professional and friendly.Food was lovely and hot and well presented. Would highly recommend.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way back to the North of England. Quite rude service when we asked if they had free tables (they didn't). We Sat outside and ordered the Sunday roast. It arrived instantly and was lukewarm, suggesting they had plates of the stuff just sitting there. I probably wouldn't come back.

Booked this afternoon for my parents 31st wedding anniversary. We were only half hour away. Siân took our booking and was wonderful. Wonderful welcome on arrival and show to our table. We never expected balloons, a card and lovely glass of bubbly for them both as it was a special occasion. This was a lovely touch. I had my 2 year old daughter with me, a highchair was ready along with a party bag with things for her to do. So far so good. We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu and these were promptly served. The menu whilst not massive is well varied and should offer something for everyone including children. My dad plumped for the pie (no surprises here) my mom, myself and my little one all went for the fish and chips. Food arrived in really good time and was hot, fresh and very very tasty. Good sized portions and very well presented. The service provided by siân and Lisa was simply faultless. We couldn't resist desserts and these were also absolutely divine. The toilets were spotless (my bugbear) and the decor and gardens are just beautiful. I don't really Do gushing but the horseshoes really did tick all the boxes today. Amazing in every way and we all left full, happy and like we'd really had a special afternoon. Huge thank you to all the staff for making this a really memorable day. And a massive thank you from Alaya who was thoroughly spoiled. 😍

We ordered 3 ribeyes medium rare. Only one of them had the right cooking as one of them was rare and the other medium. They also came cold and I found small pebbles on the cauliflower(came with the steak) !!! I almost broke my teeth!! Nobody came to ask how to food was. Wish I could return them but I already paid for everything. The staff is unskilled and unorganised. Also it is very expensive for a ''Pub'' compared to the service and the food quality that they are providing.

The food here is very good, they have international chefs that have there own recipes that are so good. The fish n chips are the best fish n chips I have ever had and I have had a lot! You should definitely come here. The decoration and atmosphere here is so lovely. The ice cream is top as well

I went in to have a steak with my friends and family and the give me pork belly and mouldy liquid cheese don’t come here it will make you sick

I dont normally do reviews but i felt i needed to tonight. Staff were amazing considering how busy they were. Becky and Lisa were just brilliant, very efficient and friendly. Gorgeous food, i had the pork belly which was divine and my Mum had the Katsu burger. Thanks guys, you deserve a pay rise!

Horseshoes came recommended by our hotel, and so glad it did. Great food, great drinks, nice location and very friendly staff. We hope to come back some day.

The horseshoes was amazing for a lovely special meal. Becci, lisa, sian and bailey were all amazing and we have had a great time, they went above and beyond for us. We will definitely be counting down until we return!

An unexpected find after seeing the Wroxeter Roman ruins. The pub is lovely and welcoming inside and we were seated very quickly. There is a large choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We both had the bangers and mash lunch special. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. We mentioned it was my husbands birthday and they gave him a glass of sparkling- nice touch !! It would be a lovely place to go for a celebratory meal or just a family lunch. Definitely recommended

Nicely decorated , but let down by its food my wife had a Sunday roast and I had the burger food was luke warm, the food had nice flavours and was presented well, portions on the small side , I had a sticky toffee pudding which was boiling hot served with cold custard, and background music was awful! Staff very pleasant don't think I would eat here again.

Just decided to turn up and try. Me and my wife very impressed with food and service provided by servers. We will be back I would recommend this place to anybody good value for money aswell.

Got to be the best Sunday lunch by far. We have had a few lunches there and everything from the waiting staff to the scrummy Yorkshire puddings is 5 star. Beautiful food in a lovely setting. Highly recommended

I've been here now twice food is always nice.The wait was quite long on our second visit.Although the staff were friendly and we were offered complimentary drinks and thanked for our patients .Deffinatly would go back .

The setting is lovely, nice outdoor areas for the warmer weather. Inside is also nice, the restaurant is well set out, the staff and service was really friendly and efficient. The food was lovely. The bar area is on par with the rest of the surroundings except it is dog friendly. They even have dog meals and drinks 🐕. Recommended: Give it a go.

My wife and I came here recently more of a nostalgic visit than anything else . We used to regularly come here when our now grown up children came to play in Charlie chalks . It is now totally changed and has obliviously had a lot of cash injected to it . It’s very grand and impressive inside and for this it is 5 * however the one way system to get in seems quite bizarre particularly if you are disabled as my wife is, as you have to walk all the way around the building . The service was v good and food came quickly my wife had beef and ale pie while I had a chicken burger with a fancy name, the chicken was well over cooked the salad consisted of a limp lettuce leaf cannot remember the name of the sauce as there wasn’t any my wife’s was only ok as it was far far over cooked. Shame really as it’s a great pub but the food on the day we visited was very poor and not cheap at £40 which included a couple of drinks. Ironically by chance I went into a Wetherspoons a couple of days later and had burger chips and it was like day and night at a fraction of the cost. Check my other reviews out most of them are 4 & 5 star Iam not a moaner just honest, if after reading this you still want a meal at the horseshoes please do we won’t be .

Expensive. Watch out! Half pints are not charged at half a pint price but significally more. Won't be going back

Shared a birthday meal with friends and the food and ambience was great. Service wasn't quick but another large party were being catered for so understandable. Would definitely recommend and we will return when back in the area

Have been to The Horseshoes several times in the last two years and always been very happy. However, yesterday we had Spicy Steak Sandwich off the lunch menu which should've been served in ciabatta. I've never had a ciabatta quite like it, I would've called it a large (soft and dry) bread roll. Disappointing. It won't stop us going again, but will avoid that menu item.

The food (Sunday roast) was good, the service was very diligent and quick (great with a young family) and it was quite busy, so there was a nice atmosphere.

A brilliant dining experience! We went for a low key meal to celebrate my brothers birthday, and the food, service and atmosphere were enjoyed by all! Between us we had the Beef Brisket, Katsu Chicken Curry, childrens macaroni, Vegan Fish and Chips, and the Vegan cottage pie. Desserts had were Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Brownie and Apple Crumble, all excellent! Special thanks to Becci ( Manager) Lisa ( Supervisor) an Isla our Server for the day. Will be returning!

Came here on a recommendation and was sadly disappointed. The first shock was getting into the car park, looked like a huge crater had hit the road! I asked if I could bring my dog and had no reply so when we arrived they stuck us in the coldest part of the pub....it was freezing. None of us took our coats off. They said it was because the fire hadn't been lit but we were also sitting next to a cold radiator 🤷🏼‍♀️ (which they put on when we complained but was still cold when we left) We then were given a menu with no Sunday roast on offer. It was only when we ordered at the bar did they mentioned it. Poor choice of non-alcoholic drinks too. But when it arrived the Yorkshire pudding was dry, the beef chewy and the vegetables too al dente!! Had to ask for more gravy to eat the Yorkie. We felt cut off from the rest of the bar and didn't bother ordering dessert. It's got great interiors but sadly lacking in the food department.
